The Eldritch God's Favour
Hmm, you seem to have stumbled across a 'Work in Progress'... Well, sucks to be you. A story of The Knight of Ebon Petals' favour to the Eldritch Horror, huh? Well, this can't be good, can it? Especially when it earned her the name 'Black Blossom of Toment'... Well, I must leave to attend to receptioning duties, farewell..

Raphiel's Test

Raphiel had only been created three months ago, yet here she was about to fight an Archangel of another god. It wasn't a promising situation, but Raphiel was made for this, or so her creator had told her. Astorath gave her a little tip before the fight, block with holy magic and attack with dark magic. Raphiel didn't entirely feel comfortable having to switch between elements so fast, because if a misjudgment was made, she would be left with some nasty problems to deal with. If the Archengel, whom Raphiel did not know the name of, attacked while she still had the darkness element active, it could mean game over. Raphiel pondered the thought, but she reassured herself over and over as the gate to the dueling stadium opened.

On the other side, an angel with pure white hair in a simple white dress stood. It was another female angel, and Raphiel eyed her opponent. However, a strange satisfaction rushed over her as she looked at the fact of how alike her design was to this angel and how they differed. It piqued her curiosity and something began to click inside Raphiel. She gulped down a large wad of saliva briefly and then saw light gather to the Archangel's hand. The light took the form of a bow and it stayed resting at the enemy angel's side.

A horn blew and Raphiel then noticed the angel gracefully lift up the bow. An arrow of light materialized and pulled back. It fired and Raphiel watched the arrow hurl towards her. She instinctively pulled out her hand and erected a barrier which the arrow caught itself in and vanished in a moment. Why was that attack so weak? Then Raphiel saw another arrow being knocked, and it began sparking with lightning. Raphiel flew up and the Archangel followed suit. An arrow was fired at Raphiel and she spun in time to evade it, but the Archangel didn't knock another arrow yet. Raphiel looked behind her and saw the arrow of lightning weave to target her.

Raphiel erected another barrier and the arrow was effortlessly blocked, but the pluck of a bowstring forced the angel up and she flew out of the way, and faced her enemy. Raphiel was on the defensive now, but she switched herself to offensive mode and held a concentrated mass of dark magic in her hand and flew fast at her adversary. The Archengel's bow puffed into light and reassembled into a shield which was held out in front of herself. Raphiel grinned slightly and the ball of dark energy swiftly hurled at the shield and blew up. The shield's light was dispelled and Raphiel prepared another ball for followup, but a searing hot feeling pierced her back. Raphiel felt herself plummeting and when she finally saw the ground in site her wings flapped powerfully and her descent became a mere hop to the ground. She kneeled on the ground and looked to her stomach to see an arrow sticking out of her abdomen. The arrow sparked slightly and the light dispelled and gathered back to the angel Raphiel was fighting. A red liquid seemed to be oozing out of Raphiel and she felt a pounding in her chest. How had she fallen for such a simple trick? But something else clicked. She wanted to see more of this red fluid, but not from her own body. Something clicked and a droplet hit the ground from Raphiel's mouth.

"To think Astorath is this naive, a creation like you may have shattered my shield, but that didn't save you. Are you truly his angel?" The other angel said while the light gathered to make a rapier. But instead, Raphiel began laughing. It was soft, but once it was enough decibels for the other angel to hear. The Archangel began hesitating. Then Raphiel looked up and her hand began pulsing with a black energy. The Archangel quit hesitating and made the strike, but a flash of light temporarily blinded said angel and sound was pushed away. The rapier was thrown by the blast and carried the angel with it partially. Once her eyes corrected, the Archangel saw a black beam heading for her, so she deployed her shield, but it shattered and the beam went right to her arm. The Archangel cried out in pain as the beam stung her flesh like a swarm of wasps all stinging at once. She recoiled from the strike and looked at her charred arm.

"Huh...I guess you're right. I did shatter your shield. Anything else to add to that?" The Archangel jumped backwards and her wings propelled her into flight. Her arm stung as if it was being eaten alive at the nerves. What in the gods name was that scythe head? Raphiel came flying to the Archangel, smiling as if she were having the time of her life. Shields wouldn't work, so dodging was the only option. The rapier was made and she dodged swiftly to the right and attempted to stab Raphiel, but the blade hit the wing and harmlessly went in without drawing any blood to speak of. Raphiel contorted her body almost unnaturally with joints snapping and gave a satisfied grin. The Archangel pulled back and prepared for an attack, butt Raphiel flew back and placed her hand on her abdomen which stopped gushing blood the moment it happened. The Archangel growled and charged at Raphiel again, but then Raphiel disappeared in a flash. The Archangel looked around rapidly for where the telportation spell hit. Raphiel wasn't in any direction, so the Archangel looked up to see the grinning angel holding her hand out and diving for her target at speeds un-dodge-able by even her.

The sound of a crash echoed through the air and Raphiel held a grip on the arm of the Archangel and let go to jump off back into flight to shoot more dark magic at the Archangel. The Archangel dodged Raphiel's attacks with ease and then used the light magic to form a more interesting tool. "Chains of heaven, pin the darkness!" Portals of light began forming around Raphiel and chains with barbed tips shot from the portals and pierced Raphiel. But they didn't draw blood and the angel just smiled more. The chains began to loosen and Raphiel shined another light of the Grand Star spell to dispell the magical chains. Where they had entered the body, not one wound could be seen.

Raphiel saw a look of confusion in her enemy's eyes. Raphiel increased her speed and a white light began emanating from the tattoos on her body. Raphiel flew past the Archangel though who had dodged and flown straight up. When Raphiel regained her bearings she saw the Archangel with her bow primed and ready with what looked to be more like a jousting lance than an arrow and fired.

"That's quite an interesting parlor trick you have there," Raphiel's voice said from behind the Archangel. The Angel turned around with her rapier, but Raphiel grabbed her face and flew down, slamming the Archangel's head into the ground. A small crater formed and Raphiel grinned as the spell took effect. The Archangel began twitching as her eyes went blank and repetitive abnormal muscle movements happened across the body. Raphiel held her hand out and grinned devilishly as dark energy gathered in her hand to form a black scythe made of dark energy. Raphiel then placed her foot on the Archangel's stomach and waited for the seizure to end before grinning wide and gleefully as she held the large scythe in a primed position.

A horn sounded and the battle was over. The Archangel was in a position of defeat. From then on, the name of The Knowledge Reaper began its spread through the heavens.
