Fantasy Grim and Grimmer

"Excuse you, it's Cull. Not Cuff," Bram huffed indignantly. He took his job very seriously, and although it was a small mistake, he was offended. Brushing aside his agitation, Bram smiled. "She has to be toured first anyway, so I will not 'just hand her a scythe'. That's Lara's job anyways."

"Alright young people of Croak!" Lara's voice rang throughout the Bank as she headed toward the Grims. "I apologize for waking you up so early, especially those who aren't new, but after the short session you will be free for the rest of the day." She paused, her gaze sweeping over the teenagers. "Alright, I'm sure that all of you know that there is something different about this town. That difference is: we are a town of Grim Reapers. I know it probably sounds insane or crazy at first, but just look around you and it'll make sense. You were all drawn here because of your potential to be a Grim. Anyway, each of you who is now officially a Grim and you have the honor of taking dead souls to the afterlife. Please follow me upstairs and I'll show you that this is far from a normal bank, and then you'll learn how to do your new job." Without giving any time for questions--it was always better to show than tell--she turned and started up the stairs.

The second floor of the bank was divided into two halves. One side only had a simple desk near a metal door that served as an entrance into a vault. The other side held several cubicles and computers, where some other people were typing quickly away. A much larger door also led to another vault.

A rather irritated looking redhead and a gentle young woman waited for the crowd as they ascended the stairs. After introducing them as Zak and Mary, Lara stepped back to let them speak.

"First off we'll show you what's in the vaults, since you're probably dying to know." Zak announced, not even bothering to hide his annoyance with the situation. He led them over to the smaller vault, used a keypad on the wall to type in a code, and a clanking sound was heard. "And don't even think of getting in here without my permission. I'm changing the password after this and even if you did make it in the guys inside would spray you with Amnesia and wrap you up like a cocoon. If that happens don't expect me to get you out. It's your own damn fault if you don't follow my orders." With that he swung open the door and backed up to let everyone look. Silky thread covered the walls and floor in intricate webs while fat spiders either skittered around or lazily dangled from the ceiling.

(Sorry, I didn't get a notification either. :/ )

Lilith mentally laughed. This girl was weird. No one could be so stupidly naive. The fact that she acted as if she didn't know what any of Croak was, and somehow understand it all gave Lilith some suspicions as to her honesty.

Ren's appearance also confused her. In all the weeks she was here (Admidately not many, but that's not the point) she hadn't ever met, nor seen him. And Sam's innocent attitude seriously confused her.

As Lilith and the others made their way to the bank, she couldn't help but think about the opportunity at getting a raise. Not that they were getting money, but the fact that she was, in a sense getting promoted helped keep her temper down. She loved the idea. 'Maybe now I can kill without getting into trouble...' she indecently thought, quickly ridding it out of her head. She had to be a good girl, like Bram said. Yeah right, F*** that S***.

'Wicked..' Lilith thought, looking at the intricate designs of webs the spider so delicately spun. The fact that the deadly spiders could trap you in such a beautiful art was appalling. She started wondering what it took to break in when another question popped into her head.

"So, what exactly is this all for?" She asked, wondering what's inside the small boxes lining the walls of the vault, apart from the beautiful spiders.

Ren huffed a little, glancing at Sam's hand but then looking away. As Bram pointed out his mistakes, the male coughed a little, partly from annoyance and another from embarrassment. He could admit, him and Bram had their arguments (

@Cuddly Kraken I'm making this little thing where Bram and Florence like to argue, not heavily, but still have this like friends-enemies sort of thing going on. Also, Ren is the one that starts most of the fights.) and, honestly, who had bothered to listen to the lessons? Florence would've just liked to do it himself, not hear someone ramble. "Cull, schmull, I don't give." Ren rolled his eyes. As Lara made an announcement that Ren wasn't bothered enough too listen to, he lazily staggered behind the group, towards the bank and up towards the vault.

Bram always had wished that he could've been in charge of the spider vault. I mean, it was gorgeous! So while he ogled at the intricate webs and beautiful spiders, he hardly noticed the opportunity to tease Ren more. True, they were technically on friend terms, but they had their spats. More than most people, but hey. S*** happens

Spiders. Why did it have to be spiders. Sam hated spiders, they were just so creepy and... cannibalistic. They were one of the few things she was really afraid of. The webs were nice looking but they were also death traps, meant to lure people in with their beauty and keep them for lunch. She took a deep breath, breathed out, breathe in, breath out. Oh god you're hyperventilating aren't you. Stop it. No stop. Really. Now. She calmed down slightly and forced her breathing back to normal. "Its.... very nice in here." She said weakly.

Lilith recognised the uneasiness in the group, especially Sam. This brought pleasure to Lilith. She was one step closer to finding out who this girl really was. Her suspicions were still guesses but... now her weaknesses are being revealed. Being on the upper hand was great, and seeing her face full of utter terror was priceless.

"Hey Sam, You should be the first to test out the security system, Hm?" Lilith suggested, hardly able to contain her laughter. Teasing this girl was beyond fun.

Why was this girl being mean to her? Was she trying to do what her third adopted sister had done and make her weak and submissive? If she was, it wouldn't work. Fine, let her think she's beat you. Use your fear as a weapon to deceive. She'll see eventually. "Uh- sorry I would really rather not. Thanks for the offer though." She smiled weakly.

"The spiders make vessels to hold the souls for transportation. They also have a special venom called Amnesia, and it's just like it sounds. Depending on the potency it can range from putting someone in a daze for a few minutes or wiping out half of their memories." Zak rolled his eyes at their disregard for the security system, but before he could say anything Mary placed a hand on his arm. He glanced at her gentle smile before sighing, nodding, and closing the vault door.

"Follow me over here please." Mary politely said, leading them over to the second, much larger vault. Unlike Zak's clipped tone, she sounded much more happy to be there. She pointed toward a slot right next to the door. "That's where the vessels go when you come back." After putting in a code Zak helped her push the door open to reveal a light landscape inside. Something similar to clouds seemed to compose the ground and stretched on as far as the eye can see. "This is a small entrance into the Afterlife. See where the vault ends and the Afterlife begins? That's as far as the living can go. There's a barrier there that won't allow you any further." To demonstrate, she stepped forward and reached out with one hand. Her palm pressed flat against empty air, as if there was an invisible wall. "The only ones that can go inside are dead souls, but the dead cannot come back out."

(OOC Note: For those who have read the book this is based off of, I will be changing several things from canon in order to make it easier to roleplay.)

She walked away from the girl quickly and went to look at the entrance to the afterlife, putting her hand against the barrier. Neat. So this is where they went. "Uh- can I ask a question? Are we- you- we The grimms in charge of all of the dead souls?"

WhimsicalWriter updated Grim and Grimmer with a new update entry:

Second Role Play

I have recently created a second role play with OverlyIntricateLove for those who are interested in something really dark and gory. You get to be a criminal who, after dying, wakes up in the realm of the gods. Due to your sins you have to go through an extremely gory game in order to be allowed to die in peace.

Lilith scoffed at the 'innocent' Sam who didn't seem to take affect to her insult. 'Fine. I like a challenge...' She thought as they were introduced to the second vault, the entrance to the afterlife.

Lilith watched in admiration of the beautiful land beyond the barrier, but Sam's stupid question brought Lilith out of her trance of beauty.

She rolled her eyes, and waited for someone to answer Sam. She couldn't be bothered, and didn't want to prove her right.

Ren enjoyed the fact that not very many people paid any long-term or decent attention towards him. He enjoyed the darkness; the feel of being unnoticed, never being able to get hurt by those who sparked interest towards the male. But deep down, somewhere in the 'weaker' parts of Florence, was somebody that honestly just wanted to be cuddled. Florence reckons the only time attention has been paid towards him for more than at least 15 minutes is Bram, his obnoxious "friend" that always managed to piss Ren off. Ren didn't even know how.

When Mary replaced Zak in touring the newbie, Florence couldn't but feel all relieved. Ren didn't feel like saying much, and as he didn't like newbies himself, the male furrowed his eyebrows at Lillith, nudging the girl and telling her to test out the system. Seeing no-one answered her question, Ren spoke up.

"Uh- yeah, newbie, grimms are in charge of souls. Well, in charge of getting them into the afterlife. Well- at least, I think so."

Ren turned his head towards Mary, raising his eyebrow, in case he was wrong. He got cull and cuff mixed up again, and he wasn't going to make another mistake in front of Bram.

Uthgerd calmly ran to catch up with other new grims as they are given a tour around the bank. Yes he was on the very back of the crowd, but not because he woke up late. He already woken up at midnight, after dreaming about his family, their good memory. Then he took a walk aimlessly and he barely heard when the announcement took place. Now he was in the second vault, which they said was the entrance to the afterlife. He wondered if his family were there...

He strolled past other new grims to take a closer look to the barrier. it was invisible, yes, but he hoped that at least he could take a glimpse of his parents and sister again. He sigh at the thought and instead focusing on something else. His eyes trained for a second toward a girl, whom he assumed as newbie, and anothers who definitely weren't judging by the scythe the possessed.

"Is any way we can .... communicate with the souls in the afterlife?" He casually asked Miss Mary the guide. he doubt there was any, but if there was a possibility he would jump at the chance.

Bayne walked down the main street of the errie town. There only seemed to be two of them and both only led to stores and places within that town. Thos place was secluded and odd.

"Tch, what the heck is with this place?" He asked himself.

The end of the road seemed to lead to a large bank. He hoped someone was there that he could speak to...or a bathroom to use, at the least.

Henry was tired of waiting and decided he'd go to the source. He had either missed the meeting or had to much to drink to even remember. He started walking down the street with a slight sigh as he ran into a ...rather interesting fellow..well...he looked interesting at least- "If youre looking for the bank its past me...and i think you missed the meeting..im going to the mayor to have a nice...chat" He chuckled to himself as he kept walking forward with the same face he wore every day

"Hey...who are you?" Bayne found himself asking. He was curious to the figure just walking out of nowhere. "I was trying to find whoever left this crappy death trap next to me while I was asleep. But, human interaction seem more desirable." He went on, following the stranger's every step.

Henry pulled out a flask and sighed sipping it as he walked he turned and looked at the rather...peculiar man. He didnt seem like your average every day human but hell...He was use to being around grims all the time so his version of normal was a little one sided- "Henry...my name is henry" He sighed as he kept walking...man when he got to lana he was going to give her an earfull

"Cool. I'm Bayne." He replied, shoving one hand in his pocket. "What are you drowning yourself with?" He asked, taking note of the flask. He had his own bottle of comfort in his bag, vodka being his choice of poison.

"Wait," he said aloud, looking behind himself in a goofy manner. "Crap, I lost my bag." He groaned, shoulders slumping.

He sighed and sipped a bit more before looking over at the man. He put the flask away in his jacket and sighed- "i preffer vodka or a little bit of rum" He then tilted his head as he mentioned he left his bag- "Go get it quick"

"Come with me? There's vodka in it for you." He offered, turning aroun and proping his scythe on his shoulder. He would rather drink with this guy than be alone.

He smirked when he saw the scythe and followed behind him chuckling slightly- "Another grim...well im guessing we have more in common then our drinking habbits" He sighed and followed

They arrived at the lonely tree, the black and purple bag resting against it. "Thank you, Bob." He said to the clouds, plopping down next to it. He rummaged and pulled out one of the bottles, unopened and ready to be guzzled. "Ladies first." He said, holding the bottle toward his new buddy.

Henry chuckled and sat back looking at the man with a small smirk- "Then by all means...drink..im not stopping you" He chuckled and laid back on the ground sighing slightly and yawning

Bayne opened the bottle and took a huge swig, coughing from the heat of the drink alone. "Good stuff." He said to himself. He looked at the guy and smiled. "What would you like to do?" He asked.
