Growing up in a small country town in Germany with his stepfather, mother and two younger siblings, there wasn’t a lot of diversity in terms of looks and nationality. As Reiner takes after his father more in terms of colouring, he was the odd one out in that small community. The older kids took to bullying him and the younger didn’t want to associate with him due to him being different. He and his siblings were not close and his parents gave up on him, labelling him a troublemaker when he always came home scruffy, silent and sullen. When he was ten, a gang of older teens ambushed him at night and started to beat him up. His anger rose and he decided to fight back, only for the grass beneath his feet to twist to his will and severely injure the teens.


On the same night, his father Dionysus became aware of his existence. The next day, he demanded an answer from his mother, who told him his status as a demigod that only she knew but kept a secret from her family. As he started to experiment with his newfound powers, monsters were attracted to the town. His stepfather nearly died on one occasion when he turned fifteen, prompting him to leave his home. This was the first time Dionysus appeared to him as Reiner was preparing to leave the town. Reiner disliked him instantly, rejecting to have anything to do with Dionysus. The God left, but gave him the celestial bronze glaive as a means of protection, citing that since Reiner was his son, he would have some natural talent for using it. Reiner took it, and couldn't be more grateful as it saved his life on more than one occasion. Grudgingly, as he moved to another town and found work there, he allowed Dionysus to teach him about the demigod world and refine his abilities during his free time. However, he refused to go to Camp Half-Blood and have been working as a shop assistant and part-time accountant until now.


Personality:


He is sarcastic, a self-defence mechanism built through his early childhood due to bullying because of his unusual colouring. He is loyal to those he holds dear and prefers to stay in the sidelines and observe. He doesn’t speak much but when he does, it is to offer constructive comments and criticism. He prefers thinking on the spot in order to best adapt to the situation and lives by the principle “Forgive but never forget”. Once you betrayed him, it is very difficult to get back into his good graces. He is rather judgemental and blunt, which makes it hard for people to like him if they give a bad first impression. He also tends to be slightly bloodthirsty and has no problems showing it, usually through his sadistic smiles when a person he doesn't care for is hurt or in a bad situation.

  Umbrakinesis-Like most children of Hades, Azrael has the ability to manipulate Darkness itself into tangible shapes. His skill with this is very honed and refined, to the point where little energy is needed and he can form constructs from the tiniest shadow.

  Combat Intuition-Not necessarily a power per say but more of a skill that has been constantly honed and refined over the years. In both armed and unarmed combat, Azrael is top tier and is able minimize the amount of errors he makes.
  
  Weapons:An obsidian Jian class blade forged with Stygian Iron. He discovered it on a year when he traveled abroad and it has been with him ever since. It's deceptively light, and thus takes a skilled hand to use and even get adjusted to.

  Azrael is not cold, in fact he is the exact opposite around people he knows. But between his stoic visage he normally has on, and his chilly disposition, which often seems like he's not talking to or even at you but rather through you, it's easy to get that impression. He's a determined individual, willing to give 110% in nearly everything and anything he does. This also leads to a pretty high competitive streak within himself. His patience is something to be marveled at, and tends to keep calm and be that voice of reason when the voices get to shouting.
  
  It's quite simple to get the idea that Azrael would be a lone wolf but he is the exact opposite. When put with a team, he puts that team and his comrades first and does not give up on anyone. This being said, he's actually a really helpful person. If you can get past his general disposition and actually ask for something that's reasonable, Azrael will gladly stay a few extra hours to help you hone your blade work or to help clean up a stable. However for all of his good traits, he has a few bad as well. He tends to keep everyone up to high expectations, and abhors laziness or any sign of not trying your best.
  
  He also has a very nonchalant attitude towards what he's considers trivial in the grand scheme of things. Naturally what he may consider trivial, others may consider important at least for the time being. What his goal in life is still something he's trying to figure out. He doesn't expect to be fighting monsters forever after all. But for now, he's content with being a compassionate person, and helping others who strive to reach their own goals.
  
  History:
  
  Azrael did not have a bad childhood. His father was never around, but for most African-American kids in Brooklyn, that wasn't anything out of the ordinary. His mother had an above average job and profession, working as Doctor at the local Hospital. From an early age, he was taught the importance of working hard to get what you wanted, and to make the people you love happy. This was further cemented from seeing his mother come home tired, haggard and drop to sleep often only to wake up the next day to repeat the process. As such he learned to take care of the chores, do good in school despite his disabilities, and when his mother finally let him near the stove, he even made his own meals. But they still went of vacations. They had those weekends of fun, jokes, and affection. His child hood wasn't harsh. He didn't grow up a fighter, unfairly hardened by the world.
  
  He was your average, hard working,and clever eleven year old.
  
  When things changed, it wasn't one life shattering moment like the movies or in T.V shows. He got the news that his mother was in a Coma and was not expected to wake up anytime soon. The cause? An explosion within their apartment caused by gas that didn't kill her but the shockwave and debris hit her hard. And hours later a Satyr picked him up and then proceeded to discredit nearly every scientist who had existed since the renaissance. It wasn't one big shock. It was a slow realization of the reality he was and would continue to live in. He wanted to scream and shout it wasn't fair. Of course he did, he was eleven after all. But his mothers words constantly came back to him.
  
  
  
  
  "Azrael, you can cry and scream at the world all you want when you are put into horrible situations. But that's not going to change a damn thing. What you have to do is take a deep breath, think, buckle down, challenge and overcome that situation. That is how things are changed."

Eh? But the current abilities Azrael has doesn't reflect any of that O.o . I'm not a godmodder, nor do I endorse or play overpowered characters and I will absolutely tone down Azrael if you ask. The reason why I'm kind of insistent on this is because Tartarus is the last of any beings with some sort of relation to Hades or Darkness in general. The others being Nyx,Erebus, and Hades himself which are all taken. And I'd rather not have to re-work his whole sheet to fit around a new god he is a child of
