Gone

DrTrollinski

Don't let the name scare you.
The mother and father, Richard and Kate. They were asleep. As asleep as they could be, all snuggled up in their bed in their nice home in Esmerelda, California. A place where a lot of millionaires or people with great jobs lived. They were lucky to live here, were they not? It was a great day. A great life, in fact.

And then George woke up. Hm. What were they going to do today? He wasn't sure, to be honest, but he knew that it was early. It was the middle of the Summer vacation, so there was no school, he'd recently had his Eighth Birthday, so he'd be starting Third Grade when they went back to school.

Or so he thought.

He had the wise idea to go and wake his sister up before his parents. His older sister. He was close with her, and they liked to hang out a lot.

"Adillyn!" He smiled as he ran into her room and went up to her bed. "Adillyn, can you get up so we can go in the pool, or--.. or have breakfast together?" He asked with a smile while shaking her shoulder, followed by climbing into bed beside her.

Adillyn was fast asleep, laying comfortably in her bed knowing it was too early to wake up, and besides it was summer break! Why should she get up at a time like this when she can enjoy her bed for as long as she wants? The peace and quiet suddenly came to a halt when the bed started shaking, then someone started shaking her, it didn't process in her head at first on who it was since she was still half asleep, slowly she came to her senses and heard her little brother's voice. Oh god he sure does have a knack for doing this.

"Mmmmm..." Adillyn muffled as she stretched her arms and legs slowly blinking her eyes open. At first her vision was hazy, but it slowly came to focus till she saw George on the side of her bed with a big grin on his face. "Wow George really?" Ady said with a lazy smile as she slowly sat up from her bed and yawned.

She glanced at the alarm clock right next to her bed and saw that it was only 8am.

"Oh George..."

"What is it?" He smiled. He couldn't understand why she seemed so disappointed. He lied down on the bed and then dragged her back down into a lying position, and then pulled her into a big hug and grinned at her, his legs twitching a little in excitement, alongside the need to use the bathroom. He figured that he'd wake her up before he went to the bathroom, though, just for good measure.

"What's the matter, sis... Ain't you happy to see me?" He asked, laughing a little as he rolled his eyes to look up at the ceiling for a moment, and then looked straight back to Adillyn. ".. Can we go in the pool? Can you make pancakes first?" He asked her one question after the other. A thing the family learned about George was that he is very hyperactive.

Adillyn stared at her little brother for a while and envied the way he can be happy all the time, cheerful and just excited about the most simple of things. Was there a time when she was just like him? Honestly she can't even remember. Just stay happy little Georgie while you still can, growing up f*cks you up...

She chuckled and ruffled his hair. "Okay, okay. Come on. Breakfast then I'll go to the pool with you. Sounds good?" Ady said with a lazy smile, her consciousness still not a 100% with her. She yawned again before standing up from her bed and walking to the bathroom to wash herself. "Is mom and dad up? How about liv?" Ady asked as she washed her face knowing George would be by the door waiting for her. Making sure that she won't go back to bed again.

He quickly got up and followed her out of the bedroom and then decided to wait outside of the bathroom for her. He could use the bathroom downstairs beside the kitchen, he didn't care. He leaned against the wall beside the door and then tapped his foot on the ground continuously, slightly in discomfort. He shouldn't have drank all of that water before bed, but let's face it - California, especially this little town by the coast - got very hot.

"Nuh-uh... They're not awake." He shrugged, even though she couldn't see him. ".. It's only early... Don't you wanna' hang out alone for a while?" He asked her, a bit of a hopeful tone to his voice.

Ady wiped her face dry with the towel hanging behind her and walked outside to see George leaning there, waiting for her. Yep she was right.

"Huh? Okay I guess. C'mon." She walked downstairs holding George's hand to help him and make sure he won't trip or anything, any injuries her siblings get, surely the blame will be on her. "Wanna help me flip some pancakes?" She offered her brother as they walked towards the kitchen. She feels lazy but knowing her brother he'll just keep forcing her to she budges. So having no choice, Adillyn decided to just do whatever the hell he wants.

"You know you need to stop being so energetic before you hurt yourself."

(I didn't get a notification for it... I'm so sorry, I'll post in the morning :c)

"Yeah, I wanna' help!" He grinned, grabbed her by the hand, and then literally ran her down the stairs and into the kitchen. He released her hand once he was there, and then walked backwards towards the bathroom that was just outside the kitchen itself. He smiled at her as he held the door open. "I gotta' pee. Don't start without me." He said, and then shot into the bathroom and closed and locked the door behind him. He spent a minute or so doing what he needed to do, and then he washed his hands and left the bathroom to rejoin Adillyn.

"I'm here. Let's make the pancakes!" He smiled and pulled a chair up to the kitchen counter, and then reached up into the cupboard and pulled out a bag of flour. "We need flour and milk and--.. and... what else?" He asked, smiling. (@RoleplayChiQ)

"Egg." Adillyn said with a smile as she opened the fridge grabbing two eggs and closing it. She grabbed a giant bowl for mixing the batter and placed them all in front of George. "Alright. Put in all the ingredients, crack two eggs, and about a cup of milk will do. Mix it and I'll just warm the pan. Got it?" She said with a smile before taking the pan from the top counter and placing it in the stove before turning the flame on. She glanced at her little brother seeing that he did everything correctly so far, messy but correct. "Good." Ady gave him a pat on the head before reaching for the spatula.

George smiled and started to beat the eggs and flour together first (it was best to do it this way, according to mom) and continued until it all became a nice smooth paste. After that, he poured some of the milk in and started to beat it all together so it became a nice creamy mixture that was all ready for the pan. This was going to be great, he was sure. He loved making pancakes with his older sister - hell, he enjoyed doing anything with his older sister. It didn't matter what it was, not one bit.

"I think you can cook this now, Ade." He said, sliding the bowl to her. He called her 'Ade' more than anything. He didn't call her 'Ady' like his younger sister did. He was hoping that their parents would give him a little brother, but he didn't really mind too much.

Adillyn scoffed seeing the perfect batter he made, she can't believe that he actually got better at this. Maybe even better at making the mixture than her. "Wow you actually did this better than I could George." She gave it a stir and gave him a satisfied nod. "Even the texture's perfect. Lemme guess, you learned from mom didn't you. I knew I should've paid attention more." Adillyn said with a smile as she took the bowl and started placing them in the pan (that now had melted butter in them as a cooking oil) in circles, measuring each with the wooden spoon. She mentally gave herself a pat in the back seeing the perfect shape, she just hoped the others were going to be this good.

"Alrighty! Here." After nearly 15 minutes Adillyn handed the pancake with maple syrup, whip cream, and blueberries as toppings on a medium sized plate. "Only three servings okay? You don't want too much carbs." Adillyn blurted out and quickly wanted to take what she said back. Ugh! How can a little boy care about what he's eating? For crying out loud. "Ummm forget that. Come on let's just eat." She took her own plate and walked towards the kitchen with George right beside her.

He took the plate with joy and then sat down at the kitchen table in the seat beside the one Adillyn would usually take. He smiled, and then instantly started tucking into his pancake. "You've cooked this really good, Ade." He grinned and then leaned over, muzzling his head against her hair for a few moments before going back to the food that he had. It was truly delicious, and he was really enjoying it. He didn't know how many pancakes he wanted, but this was getting to be pretty good so far. He smiled, shoving piece after piece into his mouth and chewing on it.

"Mom and dad are going out tonight, right? And you're babysitting? Can I help?" He asked, a hopeful look and excited grin glued to his face.

Adillyn chuckled at her little brother's consistent attitude, even if she said no it'll be useless. Knowing George he'll just definitely force her sister to say yes. "You wanna help? Are you forgetting that I'm gonna have to watch over your ass too?" She said with a smile before taking a piece of the pancake and popped it into her mouth. Wow, it is good. Adillyn glanced at George as he ate his pancake, it was obvious that he was enjoying it. But how come it feels like something's bothering her? She doesn't know what it is... But there's really something.

"Nuh-uh - You can look after me, and I can look after Olivia!" He grinned. "We can all play games and do fun stuff together, and then when Olivia goes to bed, me and you can hang out together." He smiled at her and then went back to stuffing his face with his pancake again. It was actually really filling, so he didn't know if he wanted to have anything other than what he already had. For some reason, there was something that stopped him from wanting to leave Adillyn's side. He didn't know why, there was just that... feeling. It was weird, and he didn't know how to explain it. "Should I go get my swimming shorts on?" He asked.

Adillyn nodded at George and gave him a smile before finishing her plate. "Can I say no?" She teased her brother before taking another bite of the pancake, surprisingly George's batter mixture was perfect. Almost taste like how mom would make it. "But you won't be swimming for a long time okay? Just for thirty mintues. Got it?" Adillyn asked her little brother with a brief and serious look in his eyes.

"Okay." He smiled simply at her and quickly shoved the rest of his pancake into his mouth on chewed on it before hopping up from the table and dashing out of the room; he made his way upstairs and to his room, where he went into one of the drawers and pulled out a pair of red swimming shorts. Okay. First off, he ripped off all of the clothes he had on now (just his PJ's), and then quickly put the shorts on before nipping downstairs again and hopping into the seat opposite Adillyn, smiling at her.

"I'm ready." He said.
