Penelope had never liked conflict. It was too stressful and people tended to get so angry... It just wasn't for her.
But that didn't mean she wasn't going to do as she was asked. She was happy to be in the forest, ready to defend from any of those wicked blues, or whatever they were called and frankly was just happy to be alive. But when wasn't Penelope happy? She sat on a stump, flute in her hands as her fingers danced over the instrument. Forest critters gathered around her, squirrels, rabbits, mice, deer, even a bear was sitting down listening to the pleasant tune. Her music, however came to an abrupt halt when she heard the sounds of footsteps. Her ear twitched, swiveling to the sound of the steps and she lowered the flute. The animals around her froze, unsure how to react.
"It's the blue flag thieves..." Penelope said in a low voice, looking at the critters around her. "Go hide but stay close okay?"
Penelope pranced forward until she strode up to the girl and stopped in front of her, raising her hand in a stopping motion.
"My team said I'm not allowed to let you lay your dirty blue hands on our precious flag." She said softly. Her voice was gentle and syrupy sweet. She wasn't very tall and didn't look very threatening armed with a flute and yet she tried her best to give a serious look toward the girl, her gaze burning holes into the poor person.
"And if you don't I might have to wack you."
The statement would have been laughable if Penelope didn't walk over to a several century old tree, rip it from the earth without even blinking and swing it around like a lunatic.
