While Drakonius spoke to Hikari about who knows what she decided to take advantage and talk to Kera. "So, I am guessing you are a descendant. How come I haven't seen you around?" She looked at Kera up and down thinking I would have remembered if I saw such a figure 8 around. She nodded her head impressed with what she saw. Then, she remembered she's talking to a future Zeus and they were in the middle of a rather dangerous class so she got her mind to stop rambling and watched Kera's back as Kera kept walking front. So far, she didn't see any danger... That is... Until she saw two old people that looked like her parents. She didn't say anything knowing it was obviously one of her fears that she had mentioned. She didn't want to lose her parents. She stayed quiet and looked away while holding in some tears. She kept breathing in and out slowly and when she looked back they were gone. With one long breath out she kept focusing on her surroundings... Waiting...

To say that Gideon cherished Zoe’s words was an understatement. The words that the doppelgänger were saying were all of his fear and hatred he had of himself. It was thanks to this that Gideon realized just how much he hated himself, but thanks to Zoe and Sherri being there for him he managed to calm down and spare the trees around him anymore damage. Though his eyepatch and shirt fell to the ground in fiery clumps. While his body was lean and stocky, as one might expect from a guy who works with very heavy metals, behind his eye patch was a painfully blistered old burn. Gideon quickly covered the burn with one hand.

The doppelgänger was unable to resist talking and piped up again, this time it’s appea changing. It’s face changed to mirror Gideon’s burn only the blisters were massive like cancerous tumors. “There it is! What sort of son to Hephaestus can’t even handle thier fathers embrace?! You poor excuse for a-“ And Finally there was silence. Zoe’s arrow pierced right through the doppelgänger’s throat preventing further speech. The doppelgänger had one final surprise however as it’s body caught on collapsed on the ground.

Gideon sighed and squated down, using his hammer like a cane to keep him up right. “ Thanks... thought he’d never shut up.” Gideon said forcing on a smile.

"You're welcome." Zoey said while cleaning her arrow on the floor. "Sorry I didn't do it earlier. You have that going on in your head? .... Is it gone?" She raised an eyebrow with curiosity and then she realized what this test is REALLY about. "oh my god. Were getting rid of that mortal side of us. The fears. The doubts. That second voice in our head that makes us human. THATS what this test is about!" Zoey was in shock and she wanted to say more but she found herself paralyzed. She couldn't move. *Oh for crap sake.* She couldn't talk... She couldnt walk... And she found herself lying on the floor with her eyes open. All she could do was move her eyes and maybe, just maybe twitch a finger. She started to panic as she ravagely tried to search for Sherri or Gideon but couldn't see either of them from her position. *WHAT. JUST. HAPPENED! I cant move!*

What Zoe said about the fears made a lot of sense. After all why would gods have the fears that plauge mortals. Upon the death of his doppelgänger and that realization there was a small flame that burned on Gideon’s chest for a moment. Then it was gone, and in its place was an Anvil and hammer over his heart. No sooner did Gideon have a moment to look over his mark did he hear a thud and found Zoe collapsed on the found like a ragdoll. It was a feeling that Gideon was all too familiar with. He had fallen out of his bed on more than one occasion. Gideon rushed over and knelt over Zoe, already scooping up her off ground , bridal style because he thought it would be better than over his should like a sack of scrap metal, and behind the nearest cover. “ Sherri! Do you sense any magic or something?” Gideon asked not sure if this was some kind of attack.

"That takes care of that situation..." Sherri looked at where the doppelganger was, sighing with exhaustion. "That leaves one more, right?" She looked to the real Gideon was, straightening herself. "You know, you shouldn't be scared of what others think of you. First time I saw you I thought you were an awesome looking dude, and the exoskeleton was cool. The eye patch really had some style points too. Not everyone's going to focus on the bad parts of your deformities, especially when you turn them around like you have." She felt like giving Gideon a bit of a boost, so she told him what her first thoughts were when she saw him.

Sherri loved Zoe, but she was kind of astounded by her sudden announcement. "I know they didn't say it outright, but wasn't it pretty heavily implied that we were taking our first step into godhood by shedding our greatest fears?" Have I just immersed myself in so much fantasy that I'm more sensitive to these things? Or is Zoe dense? Gideon's antics drew her attention, and she panicked when she saw him dive behind cover with a limp Zoe. Her face turned serious, and the signs of her panic vanished immediately. She sent out a weak wave of force, but there were no responses, no monsters or people trying to look out and see what she was doing. "... I don't think there's anyone. I don't have any perception magic since that book only contained combat stuff, but nothing reacted to the shock wave I sent out, so we should be clear. It's a fear not related to combat." After she finished analyzing the situation, Sherri lost a bit of the summoned composure, running to where Gideon had ducked behind a tree with Zoe. She put her hand over Zoe's forehead, checked her pulse, and tested her reflexes all while watching Zoe's eyes dart around. "Paralysis." She's breathing and has a pulse, so it's not affecting her heart or lungs. Sherri stuck her hand into Zoe's bag, instantly finding her hand lying on a yellowish potion. "Seriously Zoe, I want one of these." She uncorked the potion, taking Zoe from Gideon's arms and lifting her up so that she would be able to swallow without issue. She was careful not to spill any of the liquid, looking worriedly at Zoe when it was empty. "You alright?"

Kera listened intently at Hikari's remark. "I do not underestimate the challenge, I simply know we shall overcome it." She stated boldly, standing tall as she continued. Kera nodded in thought as Drake explained his set of abilities. "Formidable." She thought to herself, admiring the wide range of powers, it seemed she picked the right team on this one. Her train of thought was cut of, however, by Harmonia. "Zeus isn't a fan of having his bastards hanging around the other gods, I suppose." She slightly chuckled, continuing to look around the woods as they pressed on.

"Likely to protect my mother from Hera's..." Kera began to explain, before she noted something in the distance... It was her mother, crying in agony, holding what looked like... A baby in her hands? No... Not even old enough to be considered a baby. A strange light descending from the sky above onto her. "I should have expected this." She thought to herself, pausing without a word and staring into the distance as the image faded, before shaking her head."Wrath..." She finally finished her sentence after a long pause, before turning her head slightly toward the group, and back forward once more. "Let us keep moving, I'd rather not dwell in this place." Her voice announced, as her legs began to move once more.

Kari walked alongside the others as they all ventured into the forest. "This sure is an odd group" he thought to himself. Kari laughed when Drake tried getting a rise out of him when asked if Harmonia was his girlfriend. He smirked that mischievous side of his rearing it's ugly head. "Girlfriend? No no.....have I been inside her? Yes" He laughed patting the taller boy on the back and walking ahead. This was his payback for being mean since he knew that he had a thing for his cousin. Through his laughter out of the corner of his eye Hikari could see something or someone holding a guitar. When the thing strummed the guitar it came out horribly out of tune. "Not possible." he whispered and when he looked again the person was gone. As the group continued on,Kari hoped what he saw wasn't what he'd be facing. jj9095 jj9095 Randomfella Randomfella Drakonsheart Drakonsheart

They had been walking for a while when they finally reached the split tree, without any incidents happening. "I guess this means we passed." Crystal smiled and looked and Lena and Tera, and then she looked at Lena and Tera again, and again. "... Guys, we're missing one."

Where did everyone go? Nika looked around the forest, frowning. She didn't see any of her three companions, and she didn't hear any footsteps either.

"Behind you." Nika instinctively started to run forward, causing the punch on her back to do almost nothing to her and creating distance between her and her opponent. She took a ready stance, cautious as she observed, but he just looked like a simple man with a combat knife in one of his hands. She turned her bracelet into it's spear form, waiting for the man to come at her. And, predictably, he ran straight for her, lashing out with his knife. She winced at the oncoming enemy, hesitating to stab him, instead hitting him with the pole of the spear as she was forced to swing. The sound of metal hitting metal resounded, and the spear bounced off, the reverberations in the handle making her drop it. She backed away out of the knife's range, shaking off the odd feeling left in her hands. He's just as fast as me, so I can't run. The man ran forward again, and she dodged again. Maybe I could wear him out? But the charges just kept repeating, and eventually Nika was forced to use the talons in close range, cutting the man in two. She shuddered at the blood left on the weapons, going and picking up her spear before heading out. Guess I have to find that tree.

Tera had followed at the back. She was the readguard of the group. She wasnt paying that much to the group due to the fact that her mind was running around when it came to her fear. Why was she changing so much? She smiled and looked at the tree when they finally arrived. " Thank God, were here." She said before realizing that her roommate Nika wasn't there.

She let out a small sigh and looked at Lena and Crystal. " I mean we can't just leave her out her." She said throwing her polearm to her other hand.

Tera looked at her companions. "Well, then I guess we should fan out. Lena, go about 30 paces to the right... Crystal, go 30 paces to the left. If anyone sees her then call it out." Tera said a little annoyed. They were right there. Of course, her roommate had to go missing at that time when they were so close to getting out of that hellhole of a forest. "Ares, please let us find her soon..." She said before walking.

Lena did as instructed, looking for Nika with her now enhanced vision. "Nika! Where are you!?" after a few minutes she spotted the girl in question, running up to her. "Nika! Come on! Let's go!"

Zoe moved slowly. She nodded at Sherri after the 'you alright' question. Before she spoke she was working on shaking her body. Her mind was racing. Her first thought when she had paralyzed was *I hope I dont stay like this. All my knowledge would be wasted.* She thought about that fear now differently. Instead of thinking of how much she would have wasted she thought about how much good she had done in the past. She had changed her view on the fear and used it as an empowering thought instead to move her forward and boost her confidence. "Y-yes.... Im okay." She got up slowly while her legs still felt a little numb. "Let's keep going..." She looked at Sherri and hugged her. She was in a state of wanting to cry but she wasn't sure if it was because she was scared or because she was happy now. "Thank you Sherri." She dropped her arms and nodded at Gideon as well. "Thank you as well for picking me up."

Kera's response to Harminias question made sense. She nodded. She wasn't a fan of Zeus. He seemed to drop kids off wherever he pleased.

Harmonia heard someone crying and turned quickly wondering if it was her parents again or even herself there this time... But it wasn't someone she knew. She looked at the group and saw that Kera was slightly affected. Kera finished her sentence aftee a long pause and as they continued forward Harmonia gave it a seconds to say "Im sorry, I guess this place isn't a place any of us should bring up the past." She didnt speak after that. She looked at Drakonious and Hikari still talking. She slowed down a little to jump into the conversation if she could...

"Y-yeah, okay." Nika let herself get led by Lena to the tree and the others, still a bit shaken up from the encounter she had a few minutes ago. She looked at the tree with a smile, sighing in relief. "We all passed... We aren't going to have to do this sort of thing every day, right?"

"No, tomorrow they're going to throw a hydra at us and tell us to slay it, and the day after they're gonna have us face gorgons. This definitely won't be everyday." Crystal said this with a totally straight face in an attempt to bring some chuckles and smiles before looking around at everyone. "Go back together on three?"

Gideon was glad when Sherri said there didn’t seem to be an attack. Which of course left the only other conclusion that Sherri was already on top of: a fear. Gideon wasn’t sure what to make of Zoe’s fear. Was it paralysis because of how it left his vulnerable and unable to do anything? He didn’t know her well enough to make such an assessment so for now he’d just leave well enough alone. When Zoe started moving again and thanked him Hideon shook his head, “ If anything I should be thanking the both of you for helping me with my baggage. If you two ever need anything please don’t hesitate. You two are literally the first people to accept me as I am. Not including my father of course.” Gideon stopped as it felt like he had started rambling. Clearing his throat Gideon asked, “ can you stand? Or do I need to carry you?”

"Thanks, Gideon. I think I've got her if she can't stand though." Sherri stood up, offering help to Zoe with an outstretched hand. "And about accepting you, I really think that more people would if you just talked to them. I also feel kinda awkward being thanked for it." Sherri smiled at Gideon sheepishly, waving off his thanks. "The same goes to you, you know. Ask us if you ever need something, I'll be glad to help a friend. Now then, let's go off to this lightning split tree thing." We didn't even take an hour to encounter and overcome our fears, that was pretty fast-paced...

Zoe stood up slowly. She felt a little dizzy though and weak kneed. "I will not complain if you carry me right about now to be honest. I feel slightly weak." She looked at both of them. "I think we took care of our fears right? We each had at least one." She gulped thinking about Sherri dying and quickly took that moment out of head. She checked Sherri again though and her soaked red shirt and frowned. "Here." She gave Sherri the sweater she normally wears on top of her shirt. "I dont know if you want to cover the stains or just change shirts."

She looked the other way at Gideon. "If we are done with our fears that means we need to focus our minds on finding the broken tree that is split in two. If my calculations are correct we have walked a good 9,000 steps or about 4 miles. I did put arrows around trees while we walked so I know THAT way-" She pointed without turning around "Is the training ground but they said to find the tree, not to walk back." She put her arm down. "So we have North, East, and South since we came from the West. My best guess is to go Southeast so we are farthest from the training grounds. Any other ideas?"

Gideon shrugged when Zoe asked for suggestions, “ I’ll leave the navigation to you. Ask for carrying you I’ll defer to the girlfriend.” Gideon said gesturing to Sherri.” If she doesn’t mind then I’ll carry you on my back. “ Gideon said holding out his hand calling back his pinball. South east....” Gideon said looking back from the way they came as if trying to figure out which way was the south in this equation. Gideon turned and started heading towards the right only to be very quickly told that was North. “Thanks...” Gideon said clearing his throat from embarrassment and heading on the correct path.

Sherri had forgotten that she had been wounded, ignoring the white shirt that had turned red in all the chaos after the healing. She refused the offered sweater, though. "No, Zoe, I'm fine. Keep the sweater" She just buttoned up her jacket, skipping the step of taking off the blood soaked shirt since that would've been a little insensitive to Gideon and a little embarrassing around Zoe. She gave the directions a little bit of thought, and then nodded at Zoe's suggestion. "Farthest from the training grounds sounds about right." In response to Gideon's deferral, Sherri immediately crossed her arms, pouting a bit. "She's mine. I'm carrying her if she needs it." Though, if it's for too long I can probably only give her a shoulder too lean on... I really need to build up some strength.

Drake almost stumbled at Hikari’s remark and narrowed his eyes. He would’ve made a smart comment but he noticed it again out the corner of his eye the thing in a hood this time it’s piercing blue eyes. He was about to run at it when Harmonia decided to slow back down and talk to them taking his attention form the figure. He looked at her and then back to see that it was gone. Something wasn’t right. He turned back to the girl and smiled,”How you holding up love?”he said his slight British accent slipping. He closed his mouth quickly, damn it Drake.

Gideon couldn’t help but give a chuckle at Sherri’s comment. “ I figured as much. I don’t want to step on any toes. Do you want some help making something to carry her in? Should put less stress on you than just straight carrying her.” Gideon asked already looking around for materials he could use to make such a thing.

"No, I think I'm good..." Sherri thought about how awkward that might make it feel and said no to Gideon's offer, chuckling a little when she realized that he thought as much about making things as she did magic. She swept Zoe up into a bridal style carry, not really being burdened as much as she thought she would be. "Yeah, my twig arms are enough for a while." Sherri smiled, getting the satisfaction of this previously mythical event.

Harmonia smirked when Drakonius called her love. "Trust me, it happens often." She put one hand on her shoulder for just one second to say its okay but not wanting to push it too much. Tho, she thought he was rather cool when he wasn't trying to be mister macho man oh look at me I dont care about anything thing. At least her pheromones got him out of his bubble at times. "I'm doing okay. I don't see anything TOO crazy yet. So far we seem to be walking through our fears perfectly fine. If nothing attacks us well get REALLY lucky. Especially with four of us?" She put a face and stuck out tongue like she didn't expect it to happen. She knocked on the closest tree just in case. She seemed to be a little superstitious.
