Mokwon High School and University, two of the best schools in all of South Korea. They’re spoken of in a fond manner due to its distinct prestige; Mokwon has produced a plethora of influential individuals over the course of its existence. Notable alumni include countless celebrities, writers, and government officials, just to name a few. Mokwon is always the first choice when it comes to choosing an establishment that will help ensure a successful future in every career choice, not to mention it looks damn good on a resume. They’ve made it their goal to focus not only on the academics but on the well being of their students as well. The administration and teachers fight tooth and nail to make Mokwon a place that welcomes everyone with open arms, regardless of upbringing and social status. But the honor that Mokwon gives its attendees isn’t what the students are concerned with– no, they’ve got something else in mind. Status.


Behind the beautifully designed walls of Mokwon lies a social pyramid unlike any other. Social ranking isn’t something that’s taken lightly at Mokwon: once you enter through the gates you’re subjected to being pushed into a box based on appearance and wealth. No one wants to take the time to get to know you, no one cares about your wonderful personality - as parents would put it. Students like to believe that the clique standing is something that dissipates once you graduate high school, only for them to find out that it carries over as well. The clique you fall into is just as important as any fraternity or sorority, the countless benefits extend into life outside of Mokwon as well. The higher up you are, the more opportunities you get, from things like high class party invitations to internships at the biggest companies. The company you keep at Mokwon is what helps shape you into either a successful entrepreneur or just another pojangmacha owner. Being ranked high is a priority, it causes friends to walk all over each other and stab each other in the back just to hang out with their preferred clique. Nothing is off limits in this rich kid eat poor kid world, so how far are you willing to go to be somebody?
