Callum thought for a moment as he began to think on who could be committing the murders. "We don't have much details. Could be a vampire, maybe just a dude who likes to kill."

Callum nodded. "That seems the most favorable outcome at the time." He spoke, running a hand gently through Emmalia's hair.

Emmalia liked it when he petted her, so she didn't ask him to stop. "Yes, I am concerned, though, with you injured and my, well... my sanity in question recently, I don't know...."

"We'll be fine Lily Pad." Callum said, hoping it'd ease her nerves a bit. "We've gotten through tough situations before. Think of it more as a... friendly challenge with a murderer."

Emmalia couldn't help but blush slightly and smile at her nickname, which she still felt was adorable. Just that alone eased her thoughts. "Ah,t he murderer will be no problem, be it beast or man."

Cal smiled with droopy eyes down at his fiancé. "You know, seeing you so peaceful is making me tired. I don't know how you do this to me."

"It's just my charms." She chuckled and sat up so she could nuzzle lightly against him. "Just sleep, lover. It'll help the time pass."

"But I like spending the time with you." Cal complained, trying his best to return the love she was giving him. "I wish not to part from you."

"It will only be for a few hours lover. Go on, sleep. Maybe I'll fall asleep too. We have three days to cuddle, it'll be fine." EMmalia giggled and kissed his cheek gently. He could be adorable sometimes.

Callum's frown lifted a bit at the kiss, and he held onto Emmalia as his eyes closed. "I love you, Em." He said quietly, already feeling the pull of sleep.

"I love you too," she replied and nestled against him to keep him warm - now that she could actually do that. They had come so far together, she could even give him real warmth. There was nothing she wanted more than to just stay there content at his side, keeping him safe and content.

Cal had rather enjoyed the ride to Aman's castle. It wasn't any different than any other carriage ride they had been on, he just always admired Emmalia's company and being able to spend time with just her.

The three days journey came to an end early in the night. As they approached the castle, Emmalia sat with her head on Callum's shoulder, ready to get out and greet Aman's guards soon. However, the carriage did not get that far.

The only warning Emmalia had was the crunch of leaves and loam under a heavy step, then the loud bang of something hitting the side of their carriage and sending it rolling on its side off the road. When it stilled, it lay on its side, and on the outside, chunks of wood have evidently been ripped off by large claws when the carriage was shoved. No monster was in sight.

Callum had been tossed around the carriage as it had been tossed over, hurting more than just his wound he had already sustained. When the dust settled, Callum couldn't feel anything below his neck. "Em..." He said before even trying to think about the pain. "Are you okay?"

Rolling around the csrriage, Em had hit her head and maintained a few bruised, but those were already healing, now she was just dazed. She got her hands under herself and focused on his words, which formed a question, so she had to form an answer.... "Uh... yes. Are you?"

"I don't know. Can you stand?" Emmalia got herself to her feet and opened the door of the carriage side that was above them so she could stand at full height. After a moment looking around, she said, "Looks safe."

"I don't think so..." Callum said with a groan, attempting to move his legs with little success. "Not sure how I'm going to get out of this one."

Emmalia looked down at Callum and knelt down by his side. If she moved him, it could make the injury worse. "Can you move your legs at all?"

"Not really..." He winced a bit, able to move his thighs fine, but had difficulty with his calves. His hand clutched his chest where his original wound was, breathing heavier than before.

Emmalia reached out and put her hand on his cheek. During their travel, his wound hadn't healed as much as she had hoped it would. "Alright, relax. It's going to be okay." Was it, though? Who knew when that beast would come back, and how could they move Callum?

Callum attempted to correct himself a bit so the debris of the broken carriage didn't pierce his back. "We're not too far from Aman's castle. Go and get some help. I'll be fine."

"How else do you suggest we get out of this?" Callum asked with a wince. "There's no way you can carry me that far."
