Em nodded, then guided his hand up to the scar across her neck. "Death said I never actually died. But she let me rest there a bit, since you work for her and all. She was very kinds"

Callum frowned, only thinking of one other thing they could've done. "No. They didn't... They didn't..." He lowered his voice. "They didn't force themselves on you did they?"

Em quietly said, "Only Halciet. He got me blood-drunk. When that failed, he'd give me a special bite that made me calm. It made all my pain go away." She looked away and whispered, "I stopped fighting after a while. I didn't think I could ever escape alive, so why bother fighting? I thought you were in the castle, safe...."

Callum wasn't sure what to say. He was at a loss for words, or actions. Eventually, he looked over at her and spoke. "I'm going to go back to that castle, and personally chop him up into a million pieces, and throw him into hell myself."

"No, no that... Thing hurt you, and now I'm going to make sure he rots in hell. I'll sacrifice myself if I have to just to make it happen." Callum said, devistated by what Emmalia had told him.

Callum suddenly rested against Emmalia. "It's not acceptable what they did to you. If I had known this I would have destroyed that castle brick by brick."

"I know, I know, hush darling, please rest, I didn't know you were in those dungeons, I'm sorry. I thought I'd never escape. I was scared I would die, then if you found out, you'd lose your mind. I did whatever was needed to not die.

Callum's hands gripped the sheets, visibly angry over what has happened to Emmalia. He wasn't mad at her, but what Halciet had done. "I promise you, nothing like this will ever happen again. I'll kill everyone within a thousand miles before that happens."

Em pulled him close and kissed his face over and over again. She said, "Callum. Please. Please rest." She wondered if she could use that special relaxing bite on him. She didn't want to, though, unless it was direly needed.

Callum couldn't find it in himself to calm down. He wasn't sure how to release his anger, and just resorted to shouting. Eventually, even through Emmalia's kisses, he managed to break away and stand, eventually getting so far as to throw a candlestick against the wall.

Em got to her feet behind Callum. She recognized that he would have to vent this anger at some point, but not when he was still so weak. She pulled him into a hug, then, without warning, bit his neck. The book had instructed her well, and whatever magic managed it, it worked, taking away his pain and forcing him to calm down.

Callum was more than surprised when Emmalia bit into his neck, letting out a yelp as she sunk her teeth into him. Slowly, Callum stopped fighting as much against her, and rested back against her, unsure why he had a sudden wave of calmness. "What did you do?" He asked.

"It's to take away your pain and make you calm down a bit," Em said softly. "I can't have you hurting yourself. You can vent this rage when you're healthy again."

"I found a book in the castle. It described a bunch or things vampires can do. I wanted to try this," Em explained, leaving out that Halciet had used that bite on her more than a few times.

Callum nodded as he slowly turned and embraced Emmalia. "I'm sorry for how I acted. I just... I can't comprehend it at all."

Callum held onto Emmalia, not moving much as he enjoyed the kisses he missed so much from his wife. He eventually laid back down on the bed, bringing Emmalia with him.

Callum remained by Emmalia's side, kissing at her every now and then, the stillness of their situation eventually causing him to fall asleep.
