Realistic or Modern Generation 8

"Thank you," she said quietly. Harley picked up the kit and walked over to him, she looked at the gash on his head, "that doesn't look to good," she muttered. Harley took a new cloth and wipe any access blood of of his face, holding the cloth above his brow to catch anymore blood that poured out. She ripped open a package of rubbing alcohol and look a him, her hand hovering over the gash, "this will hurt, but it goin to clean it out. So prepare yourself," she said. Despite the beast that she was, and how blood thirsty she could be to feel the death of all those men back there, Harley was gentle. Which wa really odd seeing her so gentle after a fight. She never crossed the line, and when she was no longer wanted she backed off. She gently dabbed the rubbing alcohol over his wound, butting her lip as she focused on getting it done. When it was fully cleaned out she thre the cloth away and rummaged through for something to hold the wound together. Not a band-aid, no the wound needed to be exposed to the air to heal faster. Harley found some medical tape and thought why not; because she certainly was not going to stitch his forehead, that would hurt too much.

Tony growled as the alcohol was applied to the gash on his head, and closed his eyes, taking deep steadying breaths. Tony, usually silent and lonely, rarely let others touch him, except in battle, when he'd fight his opponents with a odd bloodlust. After though he would quieten again and fall silent, much like he was now

Harley nodded to herself when she was done with his head, a content smile on her lips now to tackle the real problem. "Alright, show me your leg," she said rummaging through the first aid kit retrieving the gauze and a new needle and thread to patch him up with. She swore that by the end of the day she was going to have everyone's blood, but her own, on her if that was even possible. But right now that's they way it seemed to be.

Danny felt her eyes slip closed and her head get heavy from lack of oxygen for a moment. The air was hot and dry. Said eyes widened as she realized if she didn't get out now she would probably die. Shaky and oxygen deprived muscles worked to get her back onto her feet. Jacket was wrapped around her to prevent her body from catching flames. She ducked her head low and sprinted forward as fast as she could move until the smoke started clearing. Outrunning the spreading fire, she dropped back down onto the ground and felt her eyes close again. Nothing she could do about it this time and if she was stuck there long enough, she fire would reach and burn her. Breathing became even and her hands previously digging into the dirt relaxed.

Brax neared the flames. As his running came to an end, he saw Danny, still alive and out of the fire, but she looked weak. "Danny!" He exclaimed, just happy to see her still alive. He cared for all his comrades, they were like brothers and sisters to him...better than his real family. He sprinted to her and lift her up in his arms, his left arm still weak with the gash and bloodied from the battle. But the adrenaline fueled him enough so he was able to lift Danny and carry her away from the flames. "Just hold on, okay? Everything's gonna be alright." He said to her, reassuringly. Brax was unaware that John was on his way, and Brax started bolting back to the others, still holding Danny as she rested in his arms. He was in a spot so if John was to fly by, he'd probably see them going to the others.

Danny felt herself moving. Odd, she wasnt moving. The situation was explained as she heard Braxes voice.. something about being alright. Well, that was Brax. Nomatter what he seemed to always hold them near. He was the first to feel truly like family. Not minding a lack of conversation, danny made it evident she always enjoyed his company. It filled her with relief. He was alive and moving.. so others would be too, right?

Danny flinched at the touch on her bloodied back involuntarily and just as soon became limp again. They were moving away from the fire.. it would be alright. Nobody would look for the weaker link if everyone else wasnt accounted for. This thought alone reassured her that she would see everyone safe soon enough.

Jonathan held his head down and covered his mouth with half of his sweatshirt hood to try and block out the smoke. He was looking around frantically for Danny and Brax.

"Danny! Brax!" Jonathan screamed out coughing a little inhaling a strong whiff of smoke. He kept on running in a straight line screaming his teammates names till he found them. Brax was running towards him with Danny in his arms. Jonathan ran to them to make sure they saw him.

Brax saw John. "Get back to the others!" He called out to him, a cough in his voice. He dashed past John while holding Danny, Brax's arm still covered in his blood. He hoped John would follow them now that it was confirmed they were okay.

Jonathan immediately turned around and started following them out of the burning woods. He coughed on the smoke and was sweating from the heat of the flames. His clothes where covered in dark spots from the soot and ash flying around in the windy fireball. Jonathan stumbled out of the woods behind Danny and Brax rejoining his teammates in the fireless safe zone from earlier. Jonathan unzipped his hoodie and threw it over next to his duffle.

"How are your wounds?" He asked Tony and Ian,"Can everyone travel? We have to get going at dawn. I have a plan."

Danny heard the sounds of life and urgancy around her and she tried to open stiff eyelids, coughing and hacking on her breath. She saw the group and relaxed a bit. She heard plan. What was Jonathan thinking about now? She gently reached up and touched Brax on the shoulderto assure him she was up for the most part.

Harley made a gesture to Ian, "Snak boy is still out, if you haven't realized and Brax needs to get patched up. And Danny -by the looks of it- has been caugh in the blast," she told John, "I don't know about you but they need to rest, they've got smoke I. Their lungs, and their wounds need to be cleaned. So screw the plan for now, wait until we are capable of travel."

Brax set Danny down gently so she could rest. He sat down on the ground near her, exhausted, sweaty and bloodied. His arm was killing him--not literally--and his breath was heavy. "I'm good to go...just let me take a breather, John. Get everyone patched up." He said, sounding like a self-placed second in command. Brax didn't think of himself as second in command, but sometimes it sounds like he does. Though he doesn't mean to sound like it. He was choosing to ignore his injury until everyone else was taken care of.

Finally, Ian was coming to. Harley looked down at hi a smiled slightly, "well, look at what the humanoid dragged in," she said a smirk on her lips. Ian just groaned in response as if telling her to shut up. God everything hurt, his head mostly, and his legs, and his back. He was freezing too, that didn't help ease the pain any. He felt the soft fabric around his shoulders and pulled the blanket tighter around himself trying to keep in the warmth. "I really hope none of you kissed me," he said, his voice sounding rough but there was a hint of teasing laced in with his tone.

Danny attempted propping herself up on an elbow. She panted silently and lightly, then looked to Brax. He looked in bad shape. Why wasnt he getting himself help? She put on a smile and gestured to herself givkng a thumbs up, jokingly. Then she pointed at his arm and thumbs downed. She was unable to describe her worry in any other way. He looked ready to pass out.

Blood covered Brax's arm...how much blood he's lost from the injury is anyone's guess. He knew John had enough to worry about, he felt like he's only add to his troubles. Brax thought of his injury as minor and that no one should care about it...it's nothing compared to what they did to him in New Genesis. He just wiped off some of the blood with a rag from his backpack. He WAS ready to pass out...but he had to remain strong, if not for him, he had to be strong for his companions. He attempted to hide his injury from John's eyes. As well as the others'.

Sighing, Harley went to Brax, first aid kit in hand as he crouched next to him, "Despite the fact that you're a complete and utter idiot, I'm glad you're okay," she said taking a closer look at his arm, "and I don't care what type of act you are playing, everyone needs to be up to strength so don't argue with me about fixing your arm," she said her eyes trained on the wound, she got the water and washed out the rather deep gash. Harley took a piece of gauze and held it up onto his arm to catch all the blood flow, "Hold that there ad keep pressure on it," she instructed.

Brax hissed slightly as Harley tended to the wound. He knew she wasn't heartless but he felt like she had an odd way of showing care. He followed her instruction and held the gauze in place, keeping pressure on the wound. He shut his eyes as she tended to it. He exhaled slowly as he kept the pressure on, stopping more blood from escaping his arm.

Harley picked up a wrap, butting the end of it as she held her stitching tools in the other. Yes she was defiantly covered in everyone but her own blood. She took the gauze off having new gauze ready for when she was ready for it. "This will hurt," she said. And though her touches were gentle and full of care, the needle's point was harsh and as painful as it may be it needed to be done. Harley finished quickly, wiping the acces blood before apply the me guaze so not much more would flow out, she took the end of the wrap from between her teeth and wrapped it around his bicep to keep the guaze in place and to have some pressure there in the wound. She smiled as she finished off, ruffling his hair, "all done," she said.

Danny smiled at brax and gave him a thumbs up, glad he gave in and let himself get taken care of. One bad incident and some arrogance can kill them at this point.

"Thanks," Brax said to Harley as she finished up on his arm. He felt only a tad light headed from the blood loss but he stood up. Gaining his balance took some time as he arose from the ground, he picked up his staff and used it as a tool for balance.

"Yeah, this is why I would have been a nurse if things didn't turn out the way they did," sighing, she shook her head. Too many emotions showing. But it was true, if she never had been taken then she would have turned out a sweeter girl, one who didn't kill for pleasure, but one who helped save lives instead.

Ian easily noted the paleness in Brax's face and stood up on his aching legs passing the water his way, "Drink up, you're going to need it," he said feeling considerably better than earlier. He knew that his wounds would scale over soon. No not scab, he had dimondback DNA in him. When he got a wound it would never scab, but instead have the light tan scales cove his skin until it healed fully. He was just full of snake quirks.

Jonathan folded his wings around his body to keep himself warm. He sat down on the grass and looked at his comrades. The sun was starting to come up. He looked behind him and saw the bright blaze from the wild fire they all had just escaped from. Soon firefighters would be there to put it out with their trucks and helicopters. They had to get going soon of they could be caught and exposed by the men and women who would soon be on the scene. He closed his eyes and listened to the wind and the conversation of his companions. There off in the distance where sirens. They all had to get moving no mater their condition.

Danny heard the condition and attempted to jump to her feet, grabbed a tree for support when her legs nearly failed her. She gave a silent nod to Jonathan to say that she heard it to and pointed to a direction where she felt no human activity. They needed to hurry and fast. She could handle herself for now, despite the hits she took. Someone would need to support Ian and Tony though. Nothings ever so easy with them, is it?

Brax gratefully took the water from Ian and took a drink. He sensed several electromagnetic signatures coming form the direction of the fire. Firefighters were definitely on the scene. He walked over to John. "Should we get going?" He asked, ready to go and up for anything.

Ian smiled at Brax and nodded, he picked up his bag, stuffing the blanket inside of it. Despite how cold he would get. This is why he wore the hoodie all the time, it was wool and it kept him nice and warm on the cold days. But now seeing the hoodie was gone, he would have to stay cold (which did no help for the pain of open wounds, his cold blood being exposed to such a cold environment, it made him even colder than what he should have been). Once the pack was on his back he went to Danny wrapping his arm gently around her back trying not to hurt her any further, "I got you," he said and smiled, ignoring his pain and how scared he felt of being caught, that was the last thing that he wanted to do.
