General Tomfoolery (Or whatever you rascals call it)

i hope she's okay too!!

also i thought of a great ultimate talent. the ultimate unlucky student, a the same level as nagito except unlucky. some say its luck hes not dead yet, but thats not luck, hes unlucky to still be alive because he has to suffer through not even being safe in bed.  X3 its a horrible existence and he gets others hurt to X3

Well.... Sorry to burst your bubble but Danganronpa did that already. Nagito has both ultimate GOOD luck and ultimate BAD luck. They work in shifts. After something good happens, something bad would follow.

Case in point: His parents died in a plane crash but he survived and inherited a fortune.

Nope because he's only unlucky. Nothing good happens, his parents die in a crash and he almost dies? His parents have a fortune? Oh wait no, he won't get the money it's going somewhere else cause the world hates him. But that's the idea in short. Nothing ever happens to him that's good.

not to rag on your idea, but it's not really much of a talent. neither is good luck, but there's was an in-story reason for the exception, if i'm remembering it correctly.

and it just seems like it would be weird for hope's peak to accept a circumstantial 'talent' that is in no way positive. even with students whose talents are sort of illegal, they're usually accepted because a.) they're just so incredibly good at it and b.) they can use the skills they put into doing that into doing something else. bad luck is coincidental and not really useful to anyone. if anything, they'd probably keep a shsl bad luck as far away from this school as possible, especially considering the history of the school as of this roleplay.

There's lots of research you could do on bad luck, for example why they're unlucky, how to use that to your advantage, and many others.

if they had the hubris to try and research and potentially weaponize a shsl's bad luck, i just don't see why the would have them as a student, rather than something like a research patient. a shsl bad luck would absolutely no career prospects, so it would be useless for them to attend. it'd also be pointlessly bad pr for them in any point in the timeline, since a shsl bad luck seems like it'd piss off reserve course students and main course students.

in this setting especially, i just can't fathom it, considering what the absolute worst luck for this student to have would logically be, considering the despair game has happened to shsl students twice now. they wouldn't work in a dr1 or dr2 setting either, since they'd have to know locking in a shsl bad luck would be dooming their efforts to failure. i'd say if it'd work, it'd have to be an alternate universe game, and even there it'd be a stretch; i just don't see why you'd theoretically want to jump through those hoops to make a character who can explicitly never win as opposed to a shsl good luck, who could serves a lot of the same purposes.

This adds nothing of value to the conversation but I can imagine said person walking up to the protag like

"Hey my name is John Doe and I'm the shsl bad luck." -grabs collar of protag's shirt and leans in "My very existence is suffering"

Because we can kill him off by making him walk in on a murder ^w^

you could do that with a shsl good luck on a bad luck cycle, too, though. a shsl bad luck would also naturally be everyone's first target.

i could only see it working if they were really suicidal and happened to live precisely because they didn't want to, which would be a really dark direction to take it, but hilarious. if the shsl's name was cain, it'd be perfect.

I agree, I think Hope's Peak wouldn't want to risk any more bad luck by admitting them as a student. Also being admitted to Hope's Peak as a whole would (probably) be a pretty lucky thing because of all the success and perks that follow.

I think roleplaying as an shsl bad luck would be pretty depressing because their whole life is just misery from being kidnapped and tortured and they'll probably be heavily disabled, ie: missing limbs. Then at that point their suffering is so great you just ponder on if it's morally best to let them live and suffer or die and have no suffer no more.

I can see both sides really. In a way, Nagito's luck was both good and bad but it ended up in a way that benefited his cause. Well sometimes. Case in point the school incident in Despair Arc and the last chapter of the second game. I feel as though his luck worked in a sense of Yin and Yang, but on a more extreme level.

If you added a character with just bad luck, then in a way it'd be like a joke talent. Like "It was be a talent for you to have such bad luck" But if they were true to their talent, I sincerely think that something would happen to prevent them from even being able to attend Hope's Peak cause their luck is that shitty.
