"Heeeh. So it could do that too, huh..." Riles said as she read over Kishune's PM. She had simply pressed on the empty message-input to bring up the keyboard -- much like how a digital keyboard would open up when you touched something that could be written on on a touch-screen device, so she must have skipped over the whole 'Thought Message' thing.
"Well, anyways, just like you said, those first four are essentially Email systems. So... I don't really have to explain each, right?" Riles was, of course, referring to 'Inbox', 'Outbox', 'Party' and 'Friends'. After making sure Kishune agreed ((Which I'll assume he did)) the pink haired Imp continued. "The last thing on this tab is the one with the Signboard icon. As for its purpose..." After a slight pause, Riles pressed the icon. In response, an empty list appeared with '0/10' being displayed at the bottom right of the window. Also at the bottom were 'Add Sign', 'Delete Sign', 'Activate Sign' and 'Deactivate Sign', all of which were grayed out except 'Add Sign'.
With only one option to choose from, Riles pressed 'Add Sign', which prompted a system message asking what she wanted to put on her 'Sign'. For now, she simply inputted 'This is what it does', before accepting the message, causing her to return to the main 'Sign' menu with her newly-made Sign now added to the list, and the 0/10 from earlier becoming 1/10. The three other options were still grayed out until she pressed the message itself, highlighting the Sign and allowing 'Delete Sign' and 'Activate Sign' to appear pressable, with the other two being grayed out. At that point, their purposes seemed pretty self-explanatory, so she simply pressed 'Activate Sign'.
As soon as she did so, her message appeared directly over her character's Name, she could also see the message itself on the bottom left of her vision, affirming its state as 'Active'.
Riles pointed up above her head not a moment later. "The thing above my head is a feature not seen often in games... Although certain ones have their own ways of doing it. They're essentially 'Signs' -- which explains the Signboard Icon -- and their purpose is to sit above a character's head for a prolonged, or perhaps permanent period of time while activated." Explaining it like a teacher, Riles' tail swayed lightly over the covers, pleased with her ability to grant knowledge to the Kitsune. "That way, people who want to sell an item, or who are looking for a party member, or really anything else that would require someone to send out a bunch of the same message don't have to spam the chat over and over. Seeing as out 'chat' is all Vocal, it's likely just for the sake of convenience here."
Riles went back into the menu after saying so, deactivating the Sign she had put up and adding a new one: '- The Best Teacher -' before grinning to herself. "As for the options... They're all pretty self-explanatory, so you won't have a problem if you just experiment for yourself." After saying so, she selected her new sign and activated it, causing a system message to pop up. Its contents were simply notifying her that her currently activated Sign would deactivate if she chose to activate her new Sign. She simply accepted the message, and her new Sign promptly appeared over her name.
Giggling to herself at her new makeshift title, Riles looked back at her list of Signs, noticing that the first was simply deactivated, and remained on the list itself. The list seemed to be for storing commonly used Signs (like 'Looking for a Healer' or 'Exploring x Dungeon'), so she deleted her first-made sign without a second thought, and returning her number of signs to 1/10.
This'll probably be the second-last or at most third-last Menu explanation post before Riles finds out that the Options (and therefor the Logout Button and such) don't work. The hype is real.
