"Hmmm..." Riles squinted her eyes as she listened to Kishune's answer. "You're partially right, but there's more to it than that..." tilting her head, Riles wondered whether the Kitsune really knew what their job was, or if he was simply using the information she had already provided.

"Well, we'll be able to talk about it more inside." Riles snatched the keys from Kishune's hand after muttering so, and opened their room. In appearance, it was a simple 3x4m room with a single double-bed, and nightstands on both sides. On the nightstands sat lamps, which were already lit, giving the room an amber glow.

'Such a simple room... Ah, but I guess that's to be expected from a fantasy game, huh?' Riles walked into the room and sat at the edge of the bed, considering that there weren't any chairs in the room. After doing so, she patted the space next to her, signalling Kishune to sit next to her.

"So, where should I begin...?" Riles looked up at the ceiling as she thought out loud. "Ah... First, maybe we should start with introductions?" lowering her head to return her eyes to Kishune's mask, Riles smiled. "Just the stuff that the character-creator had you pick is fine, so... I'll start. I'm Riles, an Imp Mage. My element is Darkness."

With that, she gave a playful bow using her upper half, and waited for Kishune's response.

@Kishune

We'll essentially be talking back-and-forth over the next couple of posts, so there's no need to apologise for short posts. They'll probably be the norm for a little while, after all.

Kishune was sweating as he wondered if she would call his bluff. He then mentally let out a sigh as she practically agreed with him. Though he wondered what their other things they were suppose to do as well. When she snatched the key from him and opened the door, it brought Kishune out of his short thought. Looking inside the room, Kishune was surprised how small it was. He then looked around as Riles went to the bed then realized something. “Wait…We ordered a room for two, right? Why’s there only one bed?” He said as he looked at the bed as she sat on it. He then blushed a bit under his mask as she patted the space next to her. He lightly gulped and moved to the bed and sat about arm’s length from her.

Kishune sat at the edge of the bed with his hands on his lap as Riles was talking to herself. He was wondering how it ended like this and was actually feeling dizzy from the heart from his blush. He never was able to share a bed with his mother that would prepare him for this…somewhat. The kitsune almost jumped out of his skin when Riles thought to start with introductions. He looked at her as she started. ‘Riles…Imp…Mage…and Darkness.’ He thought then cleared his voice not to seem so nervous. “Kishune….Kitsune Thief, and my element is also darkness.” He informed her wondering if this was a good idea, as he knew games also got competitive.

"You sure are innocent, huh~?" Riles giggled to herself at Kishune's remark of there only being one bed. It wasn't easy to tell his emotions with his face hidden behind the mask, but she wondered what sort of expression he was making... Or, even better, what color his face had become. "Anyways... You're a Thief, huh." Riles repeated Kishune's words while looking up at the ceiling, as if thinking hard about something.

"Alright. First, let's start with a quick look at the rest of the Menu. Most of it can be recognized at face value, but if you have any questions, don't hesitate." Riles looked back at Kishune, crossing her arms to seem more like an adult (an action which she wasn't very successful at). "After that I'll give you a run-down of your class -- but just so you know in advance, there'll undoubtedly be differences between Mages and Thieves, so I won't be able to help with everything."

Riles made a small 'X' with her hands, as if to emphasize her point that 'they might not be the same'. "I'm also new to this game, so everything I teach you will be general knowledge too." Riles added a short "Got it?" after waiting for approval from Kishune, she opened up her menu once again with a light *Ahem*.

"From the top, 'Personal Information', 'Interpersonal Information', 'Communications', 'Map', and 'Options'." Riles raised a finger for each one, finishing at '5', and then lowering four fingers for '1'. "Personal Information consists of everything related to... Well... You. The categories that branch off of it are 'Magic/Spells', 'Equipment', and 'Items' for me... But that first one is probably different for you, seeing as 'Spells' are Mage-Only, as could be learned in the Character Creation screen. Yours is probably 'Magic/Skills' instead." Riles nodded to herself after saying so, before going into her Magic/Spells section itself.

"To be completely honest, I'm not sure how Magic, Spells, and Skills work just yet... But I did gain a new skill -- er... 'Magic' while bargaining with the merchant earlier. So... My hypothesis is that the whole 'Command' system is 'free'. 'Free' as in 'You do something, and it might become a Command'." Riles shrugged after saying so. "I'll need to test more to be sure, though... Moving on!"

Riles closed her Magic/Spells section and opened 'Equipment'. " Equipment goes into Weapons, Armor, and Accessories. They should be self-explanitory... But if I were to make a note, then you should know that even regular 'clothing' probably counts as Armor; it's really just 'anything you can wear that's too large to count as an accessory'. Ah, also, if you press any of the types, a list of equipment in your inventory that qualifies should come up." Riles pressed 'Weapons', resulting in her 'Crystaline Finger Armor', 'Patch Teddy Bear' and 'Sealed Tome' appearing on the list. She selected 'Patch Teddy Bear', resulting in her finger armor disappearing, and a 'cute' looking bear to appear in its place.

"I just swapped my weapon, so now you know how that works. It seems like you can also leave the slots empty, but... You're going to have to buy me dinner first if you want me to demonstrate that." giggling to herself, Riles swapped her weapon back to finger armor, ignoring any comments Kishune might have about how a Teddy Bear shouldn't be a weapon in the first place.

"Next are items. They're pretty self-explanatory. Everything you have in the game should be listed here except what you have equipped... Yours is probably empty due to that. Also..." Riles reached into her inventory, plucking the Patch Teddy Bear from within and causing it to appear seemingly out of nowhere. "You can take stuff out..." Riles put the bear back in, causing it to disappear. "And put stuff in."

While continuing to insert/remove the bear from her inventory, Riles turned to face Kishune with a pure, innocent smile on her face. "In other words, it's lewd."

After taking the bear in and out of her inventory a couple more times, she shoved the bear in and held the Room Key in her hand instead. "You can try putting this in for yourself, too!" Riles scooched over right next to Kishune, before holding the keys out to him.

@Kishune

If Kishune decides to take the keys into his inventory, just note that Riles will be whispering "Be gentle~!" in the background.

Kishune looked at Riles as she repeated his words a bit as she looked at the ceiling. When she said let’s look at the rest of the menu, Kishune nodded as she crossed her arms…which somehow made her look more childish. She said she give him a rundown of the Class he chose after the menu but said it was different than her class, Mage. He nodded to this and listened to her as she formed a ‘X’ with her arms.

So far Kishune was being a good quiet student though he was getting slightly confused with all that she was saying. He then nodded again as she said this will be all general knowledge before she seemed to open up her menu. He did the same and listened closely to her. He pointed to each button as she called them off to recognize which was which. When she went into further detail about first button he opened it to have it branch off to ‘Magic/Skills’ for him, ‘Equipment’, and ‘Items’. He nodded as she pointed out the first section may be a little different for him, and went to click the Magic/Skills section, and it branched off further to a dual list type window, one labeled ‘Magic’, other ‘Skill’. As she went on to talk about how she got her magic earlier, he went on through the section labeled ‘Magic/Skills’; though only one of them had something listed under it and that Magic which had ‘Thunder’, and ‘Blackness: Harden’. He clicked on one and a sub window appeared, giving brief detail of what the magic/skill does. After finding out that Blackness: Harden actually raises his defense or attack depending on what it consumes/covered; he closed it out and followed along with Riles as she explained further about the other sections of Personal Information.

He went onto ‘Equipment’ as she did and it branched out to ‘Weapons’, ‘Armor’, and ‘Accessories’. He nodded as she said it should be self explanatory at this but listened to her as she said that basically any clothing could be considered armor. He then tapped each section to branch out to have similar 3 sections saying empty in each one. He then looked at the human silhouette that appeared on the opposite side of the personal Info icon when he entered equipment. He noticed that there were dot around the silhouette with lines connecting them to certain areas; more and likely to signal where the equipment sits on one’s body. Each sub section in equipment changed slightly the amount of dots that were on that window and the change of position on the silhouette it leads to. Weapon had 9 dots, Armor had 5, and Accessories had 8. On weapon they lead to one at each shoulder, forearm, thigh, and calf, while the last one was on the waist. Armor, went to head, chest, arms, waist, and legs. Accessories went to head, biceps waist, wrists, and hands.

As Kishune went to weapons and armor the dots where his clothing and weapons were on his body were lit up signaling that’s where they were equipped. On weapons though the dot leading to his waist made him raise an eyebrow. He then looked at his waist as he sat at the edge of the bed and saw nothing. He figured it was a mess up or something, before looking to Riles as she changed the finger thing she had for a raggedy old teddy, which he raised his eye to. ‘That’s a weapon…?’ He thought then shook his head.

When they went to 'Items', a window opened to a grid like pattern titled Items. It did have tabs that had symbols instead of words, like a sword, chest plate of armor, and a ring. Opening them up he saw icons of the same symbols that labeled the tabs in the grid each with the letter ‘E’ in the bottom right corner. ‘This must be so you can get extra info that’s not needed from weapons and armor and such.’ He thought then looked at Riles as she was pulling the teddy bear in and out of her inventory repeatedly as she smiled at him innocently. Though what she said next would send a shiver down his spine for some reason. He then blushed as she scooted closer to him and offered the keys, he blushed a bit and took them from her. He then slowly took them to the item section of the inventory and they disappeared adding an icon to the window…though Kishune couldn’t stop blushing for some reason.

"Congratulations~!" Riles clapped after Kishune placed his first item inside of his Inventory. In response, the flames inside of lamps fluttered slightly in the otherwise-quiet room. "Now! Onto the second branch: 'Interpersonal Information'!" Not bothering to move back to her original location, Riles continued to sit hip-to-hip with Kishune as she moved onto the next subject, not paying any attention to the small parts of his face visible out of the mask turning crimson.

"I'll be honest, I haven't explored any of these other tabs, so I'll just tell you what I think of each one after looking them all over." Riles smiled wryly as she looked up at Kishune and admitted her own lack of experience with the menu. She then proceeded to look over all of the tabs in 'Interpersonal Information' in quick order before nodding to herself. "Let's start from the top just like last time, alright? Its Icon'll look like the 'Personal Information' icon, but with three of people, two of which are grayed out 'behind' the first. As for what it is... It seems to be a Player List of sorts. My best guess is that the list is limited to the surrounding Area, otherwise, it's glitching out and missing almost all of the other testers from the square." Riles pressed an the Icon as she said so, resulting in a barren-looking window popping up with the words 'Chorbata City' sitting at the top. "If my guess is right, then our current area is 'Chorbata City', with the current players inside of its boundaries being you, me, and two others: 'TheDarkAngel' and 'MuteSoldier'. I'm pretty sure MuteSoldier was one of the people at the Town Square a while back, but the other name is unfamiliar. Maybe they were a late arrival?" Riles shrugged, closing the window and selecting the next subject.

"The one under the Player List looks like a Banner with a Plus on it, and its function relates to Parties --" Riles seemed to halt in her tracks for a moment after saying so, once again remembering that the Kitsune next to her had no experience with gaming. "'Parties' in games usually refer to 'Groups of Players' -- not celebrations. As for how a 'Party' and a 'group of players' is different..." Riles shut her eyes as she thought of an appropriate answer. "Well, maybe it would be best to think of it as 'convenient'? If a group of players went to hunt some wolves, they'd all be counted as individuals in most games -- even if they worked together. If they were in a Party however, then they might receive bonus EXP, shared Loot, and other stuff like that. There's also the fact that Party Members can view each other's status, can participate in certain party-only events, and other things too." Riles shifted her eyes to Kishune's. "I'm not sure what being in a Party offers in this game, but... There's only one way to find out, right?"

Grinning, Riles pressed the 'Party' Icon, causing a System Alert requesting a Party Name and whether she wanted to form a party to pop up. She inserted the name 'Imp & Kitsune" into the box before pressing the 'O', resulting in a message notifying her of a successful party-creation. Dismissing the message, Riles pressed the banner icon once more, this time resulting in a list of Party Members -- which was only herself with a Gold Crown next to her name. Her HP and MP was listed alongside her Class and Level.

Upon pressing her name, a small window opened up for 'Private Message', 'Add Friend', 'Mute', 'Kick', and 'Make Party Leader' all of which were grayed out for obvious reasons. At the bottom of the list were a couple of options: 'Add Member', 'Dissolve Party' and 'Party Options' were available, while 'Leave Party' was grayed out (probably because it would be the same as 'Dissolve Party'). Riles selected 'Add Member' and typed 'Kishune' name before accepting the Send-invitation alert that popped up afterwards.

"You should get a message of some sort from the system now! I have no idea what it'll look like, but it should go along the lines of 'Do you want to join the 'Imp & Kitsune' party?'... Maybe. Probably. I've never heard of anything bad happening for just joining a default party, so go ahead and accept!" Riles sat back on the bed, using her arms to prop her up after giving her instructions. Of course, whether Kishune wanted to join the party was up to him.

@Kishune

Seeing as I couldn't find any images for the tabs other than the ones directly related to the Personal Information Tab, I'll just take my pick of icons from

here, here, and here for the other stuff. Feel free to amend my decisions, Kishune.

Rolling her eyes, Vricesia replied in a more coherent manner. "What Yafang here means, is that we aren't really going anywhere. Just searching this area for any hostile NPCs to kill for experience, and it looks like we have..." Trailing off, the woman felt the pain that radiated from her various wounds slowly ebb as they slowly faded as if never existing in the first place. Running a hand along her leg, she surprised not to feel any scaring or bruising, despite being a tad sore. And as her kitsune party member asked about leveling, she swiped down with her right and and checked her stats.

Akumada raised his eyebrow as he had an ‘uh huh’ look on his face as she explained the tournament thing as a precaution if they weren’t players. He then bounced his sword on his shoulder a bit before sheathing it. As Yafang talked poetically to Vixx, Akumada spotted something shiny in the grass and went to see what it was. It was the sword/knife the goblin had thrown at him. He picked it up and looked at it. It was no bigger than a throwing knife to him, and nothing he use in battle definitely. He placed it in his inventory before he looked back at Yafang as he asked about them leveling up. Akumada checked and shook his head. “No I didn’t. I more and likely got less than you two. I barely got any of them…” He said then thought about the shaking earlier now. “Wait Vrice, that shaking earlier was you, right? If so, you must got more EXP than the rest of us with finishing them off.” He told her. She then confirmed that with telling her level. Akumada then put a hand to his chin as he thought wondering if EXP share was a thing in the game. But something else came to his mind. “Hey I think we should get supplies before we try going out further. We barely got out the city before getting jumped, so I think we need to prepare ourselves.” He told everyone as he crossed his arms waiting for everyone to respond to him.

"Now we're a proper group!" Riles giggled as she looked up at Kishune. "Now go ahead and look in the Party Tab itself." Riles brought up the tab in front of her as well, with the window now listing Kishune as a member of the party and showing his data. She tapped his name, causing the list of options from before to pop up, this time all available except 'Private Message'.

"If you tap my name, there should be 'Private Message', 'Add Friend', 'Mute', 'Kick', and possibly 'Make Party Leader'. Private Message or 'PM' seems to be grayed out for me, but it's essentially equivalent to instant-messaging in the real world. Texting, in other words. 'Add Friend' does exactly as it sounds. In games, Friends are people that you can use features like location tracking, long range PMing, and other stuff on... Usually." Riles shrugged for the umpteenth time, tapping her chin while thinking about other things that Friends might receive before continuing.

"'Mute' also does as it sounds: it mutes the selected character. Since we're communicating vocally rather than through text, 'Muting' will probably mean you can't hear the person, but in text-based games, it would stop their text from appearing in chat." Riles nodded to herself, thinking of the many advertisement-bots she had muted in her gaming history. "Ah, also, it doesn't actually mute the person. It'd be better to think of you going deaf specifically to them. I'd demonstrate, but... We'd need another person to demonstrate the effects properly."

Riles layed down on top of the bed, rolling away from Kishune and across the now-wrinkled covers. The example she was thinking of was:

  1. Have Kishune mute her
  2. Have the third person turn away from Riles
  3. Have Riles face Kishune so that he can read her lips
  4. Have Riles speak
  5. Have the third person repeat what she said

But it would be useless without a third person, so... "Moving on!" Riles sat up with her fists raised to the ceiling, before letting them drop to her sides. "The last two will probably be grayed out for you because they can usually only be used by Party Leaders... Which is me in this case, as seen by the crown next to my name." Riles pointed to the top left of her vision, where Kishune's partially-depleted HP bar was located under her own, with her name having a crown to its right. "Anyways, getting back to the options, 'Kick' isn't actually a physical kick. It's just a reference to 'booting' someone, or... Removing them from the party, basically. The final option, 'Make Party Leader'... Well, I don't need to explain that one, right?"

Even if the Tester in front of her was new to gaming, that option was about as clear as it got, so Riles hoped that he wouldn't mind her not explaining that one. "As for what makes Party Leaders so special... It's usually their ability to manipulate the Party Options." Riles tapped the 'Party Options' button after saying so, which brought up a list of options. The options were as follows ( = Applied; = Not Applied; = Permanently Applied):

Visible Party Name:

Party Invitations:

Party PMs:

Loot Sharing:

EXP Sharing:

[ Y : | N : ]

[ Party Leader : | Party Members : ]

[ Party Leader Only : | Friends Only : | Unrestricted : ]

[ By Turn : | All to Finish : | Biggest Contributor : | Random : | Free for All : ]

[ Equal to Everyone : | More to Finish : | All to Finish : | Relative to Contribution : ]

Riles changed Party PMs from 'Friends Only' to 'Unrestricted', and allowed Party Members to send Party Invitations. After doing so, she accepted the system message requesting confirmation, and pressed Kishune's name in the main Party window. Once again, a list of options became available, but this time 'Private Message' was available.

Grinning to herself, Riles turned to face the now less-red Kitsune on the other side of the bed. "There, now PMs are up if you tap my name alongside the option to Invite people to the Party at the bottom of the Party window. As for how: I used my awesome Party Leader authority! You can probably see the Party Options yourself if you want to take a look, but..." Riles paused shortly for dramatic effect, her green eyes narrowing as a mischievous smile spread across her face. "Perhaps you want to be the Party Leader and see how to change the options for yourself? It's usually a man's job to take charge in places like this, after all~"

Riles motioned to the bed in the room with a short "Fufufufu~" before leaning back, using her arms as support on the creaking bed once again.

@Kishune

Most of the party options are self-explanatory, but 'Loot Sharing' and 'EXP Sharing' were mainly inspired by Mabinogi, so their details can be seen

here.

Kishune looked back at Riles as she seemed excited about forming a group. As she told him to go ahead and look in the party tab, he nodded and went to it. A list window appeared with their names on it with Riles on top with a crown by her name. Beside her name was three buttons with symbols on them to him. “I only have four.” He told her as his finger hovered over each one to see what it was. “One has the symbol of a letter (PM) which is grayed out to me, One with a person with a + on their shoulder (Add friend), this one must be ‘Mute’ with a speaker crossed out, and the last one whith what appears to be a door with an arrow going through it (Leave Party).” He told her though the other buttons weren’t visible to him as he wasn’t the leader. Those have a symbol of a boot that was in the middle of kicking something for ‘Kick’, and a crown with an arrow pointing away for ‘Make Party Leader’.

Kishune listened to Riles talk about buttons and nodded occasionally like a good student. Hearing how mute works and how she could only explain it better is if they had another member, Kishune nodded. “I think I understand. It mutes the other from you hearing them but not them from others.” He told her as she laid on her back and rolled away, allowing him to breath properly now.

Kishune didn’t doubt her explanation on it as it wouldn’t make sense to be done in the real world but being here, and experiencing all this stuff he couldn’t before, he was open minded to a lot of things. When she said their moving on as she sat up with her hands in the air he nodded and listened to her go on about the buttons that weren’t available to him. He then listened as she mentioned why Party leader was so special, which was the ‘Party Options’ she’ll manage. As Riles did something on her menu, Kishune noticed PM’s button wasn’t grayed out no more.

When Riles said she did it and that he could possibly see the party options Kishune nodded. “Ok.” He said as he was about to check before stopping in his tracks at what she said; his face when redder than before even though he didn’t fully understand where she was going with that statement. “Uh…No I’m good…I don’t mind being under a woman…” He told her without looking at her. He didn’t know what that all entailed either but figured that was a bad choice of words. After a moment, he asked. “By the way, why would a party need a mute…? Don’t we need to communicate to help each other?” He asked her as he didn’t look at her waiting for an answer.

"Well, aren't you bold~" Riles grinned at Kishune's response before he changed the subject to the reason for muting other players in a party. "Ahh, usually, that'd be right." Riles placed her hands on her knees after referring to Kishune's comment on communication being key. "Generally, muting people in your own party is a bad idea, but... There're these things called Raids, and they usually require a lot of people partying together." Emphasizing 'a lot' by spreading her arms wide, Riles continued. "And because they require a lot of people, chances are you'll be in a party with more than one person that you don't exactly like, and because there'd be so many people, removing their chat -- or in this case, voice -- wouldn't hurt the overall result of the Raid in most cases."

Riles crossed her arms before looking up at the ceiling. "Of course, I'm not sure if Raids even exist in this game... But if they don't, then the Mute function here is probably just in case you party up with someone you don't like, allowing you to mute them and then leave or boot them." Riles let her arms drop to her sides after giving her best guess. "Anyways, let's move on to the next tab."

Navigating her menu, Riles opened up the 'Friends' tab, resulting in a screen similar to the Party tab opening up. "I've already explained what 'Friends' are in games, so the tab dedicated to Friends should be self-explanitory. The image for the tab is the same as the one you saw after pressing my name in the Party tab, too." Riles made a side-glance at Kishune. The window only had the option of adding a new friend, but if there was anyone on the list, pressing their name would result in the options of 'PM' 'Find' 'Invite to Party' and 'Remove'. "We should add each other as friends later, but for now let's just move on."

With that, Riles returned her eyes to her front and opened up the last tab of the Interpersonal Information tab: Trade. "The last tab is the 'Trade' tab, which has the icon of two arrows, one going right, and the other going left ( )."

The Trade window simply consisted of a list of players nearby (with a lower range than Player List: ~10m). If a name was pressed, then the options to send a PM ( ), offer a Trade ( ), or Block Trades ( )would be listed. "'Trading' in games is just as it sounds; it's a function that lets you exchange items and gold with other players! 'Block Trades' would be used to stop someone from repetitively offering trades to you, which is common in a lot of games... Hopefully you won't have to use that function while everyone playing is still just a tester, though." Riles smiled wryly at the thought of another Tester repeatedly offering trades to other testers.

Riles selected the Trade option on Kishune's name. "The appearance of the Trade Window differs from game to game, so let's take a look!"

Kishune grumbled to himself as he blushed as she commented on what he said. But he then let out a sigh of relief when she continued with a change of topic. He looked at her as she mentioned this thing called raids and how muting may help with that. He still didn’t get it, but in other games is messages took over the view then it would be understandable. He then thought of something as she was basically talking to herself about how Mute would work in this game if there were no raids. ‘Wait…’ He thought then went to the section of parties and showed in the corner of the window that there was 2/4. More and likely a counter to keep track of the amount in a party, meaning it was limited to 4. ‘Guess there’s no raids in this game…’ He thought then shrugged.

Kishune then turned his attention back to Riles as she wanted to move on to the next tab. He nodded to her explanation of the tab, basically being the same as parties just for your friends and a larger number limit. He was a bit surprised she suggested adding each other on a later date. “Oh, uh…sure.” He replied to her.

As she went on to Trades, Kishune nodded as she explained simply what each tab did, which was pretty self explanatory to him by now as she said. When she said she wanted to take a look an dual window appeared with 2 by 4 square grid, similar to the Inventory, on each window and a combination lock style counter underneath them with a single arrow pointing at both ends at the windows. “Hmm…looks like it’s limited to trading up to 8 items preside.” He told her as he looked back at her.

Riles nodded to Kishune's observation before pressing one of the slots in her 2x4 grid. Not a moment later, her Inventory opened up with the same appearance as it would in Personal Information. With her tail swaying back and forth, Riles selected her stack of Sealed Tomes, resulting in a combination-lock counter with three digits appearing; at default, it was 0|1|0 -- her maximum number of tomes.

"Hmmm~" Riles lowered the amount to '1', resulting in the item appearing on the top left corner of her side of the Trade interface. At the bottom of the window (on both her's and Kishune's sides), a 'Confirm' button alongside an 'Accept' button appeared, with Accept being grayed out. Most likely, 'Confirm' would need to be pressed before 'Accept', as was an oncoming norm in certain MMOs (as to make item duping more difficult). "Confirmation is needed from both sides, so... You can press those buttons if you really want, but they won't do anything." Riles said, preemptively allowing Kishune to experiment on them if he really wanted.

For the time being, Riles ignored the two buttons and attempted to place another single Tome in a second empty space. As a result, the tomes naturally stacked together, causing one of her 8 slots to be filled with 'Sealed Tome (x2)'. Pressing the tomes once again allowed her to modify the number of tomes, or retrieve all of them. Riles chose the second option and closed the Trade window, causing it to close from in front of Kishune as well. After doing so, Riles knitted her brows and closed her eyes, giving her an expression of 'deep-in-thought' (albeit with a hint of childishness).

After a couple of moments, Riles hands became a blur as she navigated her inventory rapidly, a wide smile appearing on her face. "Hey, heeey try putting this in your inventory!" With just that, Riles materialized the Patch Teddy Bear in her hands and practically forced it on Kishune after half-shouting in a playful tone. This time, the Bear was an independent item rather than an equipped item. "I'll explain why in a second, and after this we can keep going with the Menu explanations!" she explained shortly, edging closer to the Kitsune with every passing second.

The short explanation of her experiment would be 'To see whether an item that should belong to Player A can go to Player B without use of the Trade Interface or not'. If the item could be traded this way, then that would make the Trade Interface's use mainly involve trading in bulk/exchanging precious items. If Kishune couldn't retrieve the bear, then that would make the Trade Interface of larger importance to Players (as they would need to share loot this way in the future).

Kishune watched as Riles was starting to fiddle with her menu for a bit as she seemed to be in deep thought. When she spoke up about the buttons at the bottom, he nodded and just continued o watch her fiddle with it. Kishune had no intention of doing that as he figured he figure out later what all this means/does when he does trade. He then noticed she was acting like she was in deep thought like a child.

Kishune just watched her with a raised eyebrow as she thought. When a wide smile appeared on her face and told him to add the near she got from her inventory to his. “Uh, sure.” He said as he held and looked at the bear. He then opened up his inventory and tried to place it in his inventory but a window popped up. “Uh, I can’t, a window popped up saying: Barrowed weapon, please return it to the owner if done with.” He told her as he thought about it. ‘Back at the shop, the Merchant had to physically hand the items to Riles so she could put it in her inventory. But the case doesn’t seem to be the same here.’ He thought to himself.

The trade system is for mass trade to go directly into ones inventory. But while in a party, most items can be simply tossed to the party member to use immediately without going through a trade. But items get used up but weapons will only be borrowed out if a need for one arises and won’t go into a person’s inventory, so it must be returned to the owner. It’s like in classic RPGs when the whole party shares the same inventory of items and can use it on another party member.

Jack nodded before sighing deeply.smiling shyly he put his hand on her shoulder before pointing to his name then to her trying to ask her name. He deiced he wasn't going to think of anyone by their username.he looked around and began wondering why this area was so empty but he soon found out when he saw a boy running from the butchers shop carrying meat while the butcher chased after him "Theif!" the butcher cried as the boy neared us. i grabbed his arm and pried the sasauges from his hand before handing them back.

Yafang

Yafang stared at the two as Vricesia said that she leveled up. "You leveled up?" Yafang said more in surprise than questioning "No fair! They made me into a horse back there...er...no offense I deserve a bit more XP just for that alone!" After his little rant, Yafang crossed his arms as he replayed the memory in his head. It was clear now that thieves were not meant to be in the front lines. Yafang stared at his progress bar and would say that it's about two-thirds of the way filled, but it seemed a little less filled than that.

As Akumada made the suggestion of picking up some supplies so they'd be better equipped, Yafang raised up a finger and said,"
I second that idea."

It made Yafang feel better that someone get less XP than he did, but it was still ridiculous that they got overwhelmed by a little band of goblins. Maybe they could get some better weaponry, armor, and maybe some goblin repellent (if that was even a thing).

Raven looked at his username and narrowed her eyes. "Oh okay. So you don't talk. Got it, got it." She said, taking a step back, as she had instinctively gotten closer to read his name. She had forgotten that she no longer needed glasses because she was in a game. She was about to make another comment when she heard a shout and a boy running out of a shop with a link of sausages. Run kid run! She yelled in her head, before guy- er- Jason, got the sausages back and handed them to the shopkeeper. She chuckled and shook her head, she had been hoping the kid got away with the food. "Anyway. Since you don't talk, how do you communicate? Do you know sign language?"

He shook his head now kinda wishing he took the time to actually learn sign language instead of playing video games. He sighed drooping his head. But he suddenly came up with a idea.looking around he found a piece of paper from a old notice and he looked around trying to find a pencil.unable to find one he sat down trying to figure out what he was going to use to write with.he didn't have any lead or charcoal and neither did he have ink.he thought it out before sighing and disgracing the paper.he looked back up at Raven and shrugging unsure how he would communicate.

"I see, I see..." Riles said to herself while looking up at the ceiling. "To test the system properly, I'd like to try to trade a couple of other items, but... Well, the only other items I have are Saled Tomes, and those seem kinda weird compared to other items." Riles was, of course, referring to the fact that they could be Used and Equipped, which she assumed only a scarce few items would be capable of doing.

"The keys I handed you earlier could also be stashed in your inventory... But I suppose those would originally be yours seeing as you bought them." she said, reaching out for the bear in Kishune's hand and taking it back before stowing it in her inventory.

"Well, we can test ,ore later. For now, let's finish off the Menu, 'kay?" she asked, ending with a light head-tilt to accentuate her question. After a moment she opened up her menu once again and moved onto the 'Communications Tab', which she only needed a moment to recognize.

"The next two main tabs'll be pretty easy to understand, so... I'll just go over them quickly. The one that looks like two chat-boxes overlapping is the 'Communications Tab'. Click on that, and you'll see the Party and Friends icons again. If you can recall, you could select names in the Party Box for PM's... I'm just going to guess that this is where those show up." Thinking so, Riles navigated her menu and went back into the Party window, selecting Kishune's name and PMing him a message using a holographic keyboard (which appeared when she typed in the Party's name as well).

In response, Kishune should have received <(crown) Riles: Was my guess right?> alongside a light *Ping* and a notification in the top-right of his vision. The notification would have the icon for the Communications Tab itself, making it easy to recognize. "Well? Did you get it?"

Kishune looked at Riles as she wanted to test the system and nodded that some her items were weird to him, though that wasn’t about their functionality as he didn’t know what that was. When the keys were mentioned and she dismissed them as being trade able, Kishune thought a moment. “Wait, I think we can try with them. I did order a room for two. And I think I remembered our names, characters’ names appearing in the sign-in book by that one woman.” He told her. “So the keys are just as much yours as they are mine so we should be able to train them if we wanted freely.” He told her, though this did make logical sense even though the room seems more fitting for 1.

We can try it out in a bit then.” He said after she wanted to go through the rest the menu. He then closed out that tab ant went to the ‘Communications’ button. She said she was go over the rest quickly. Upon opening he saw three tabs mainly. ‘Inbox’, ‘Outbox’, ‘Friends’, ‘Party’. All this was easy to understand with the last two being explained in the last button. “It’s like an email then?” He said as he looked through it. After saying that he noticed the imp seemed to be doing something with her menus that seemed to require both hands. Before long a ding noise sounded off in his head and a notification appeared in just out of the corner of his eye, as well as a 1 appearing next to the communication button and Inbox tab. He tapped the inbox tan to open to a list window with one thing one it labeled (No subject). He tapped that and the messaged that Riles sent to him appeared. Hearing her ask if he got it he looked at her and nodded. He then tapped the area that seemed to be where the typing goes, but no key board came up. ‘Uh…’ He thought as he looked around at the window to see if a icon needed to be pressed to activate it. He then looked to the spot to see <Uh…> typed in. ‘What the-?’ He thought then that was added in as well. ‘Oh I get it; it’s able to type by thought!’ He thought thinking that was amazing. He then tapped and highlighted uh… and erased it and put down <Yeah I got it.> He was about to edit the rest the message before he accidentally hit send having the message turn out like this: <Yeah, I got it. What the-? Oh I get it; it’s able to type by thought!> Making it a nonsense mess that seem like a one sided conversation to him. Kishune face palmed himself when the message went to the Outbox.

Rolling her eyes at this comment, Vricesia kept searching the various areas of her menu before stumbling across something that looked to be party settings. She couldn't edit them because Akumada was the leader, though it did give some insight as to why they didn't all receive an equal amount of experience. "Akumada, look under the settings bit of your menu and youl'll find the party options. EXP sharing is set to how much each person contributes rather than everyone getting an equal amount. It's up to you if you wanna change that though." After speaking, the woman went over to her inventory and noticed an relatively worthless item called a "Goblin Hat." Grinning, took it out and held the rather small vanity item in her hands as she then stood and walked over to Yafang, carefully balancing the item on one of his ears. "There we go! Now you are a trusted golbin steed! Though, I agree that we should stock up on a some consumables and possible some healing spells, it's getting quite late and by any game logic, that means we need to get a room at an Inn for the night..." The centuaress trailed off as she thought this over for a moment before sighing bitterly. "But...we have two problems. How am I going to fit inside a building and how is a room going to be rented to two demihumans? I mean, you Yafang could try and hide your tail and ears but I'm a bit more than noticeable."

Akumada looked at Yafang with a raised eyebrow as he ranted a bit about being ridden. As the Kitsune crossed his arms Akumada looked at him dully. “Actually, with that sort of display, you should have gotten less than you did, if you ask me…Though, I didn’t do any better…” He admitted with a grumble as he crossed his arms. He hated that he let his guard down that easily.

Akumada then looked up at Vrice as she called out to him. When she told him to look under settings in party, Akumada opened his menu and went through it till he got to Party. Tapping on it pulled up a window with their names listed. He then saw a gear in the bottom corner of the window and pressed it. “You’re right; I must have missed it when I formed the party…Thanks.” He said as he studied the settings a bit. ‘Hmm…Name doesn’t need to be visible as we don’t have one yet…I’ll monitor the invitations for now. PMs? Hmm, I’ll open that up just for now till we see how that is done. Loot sharing…’ He paused a moment to look at the other two as Vrice went up to Yagang and placed one of the goblin hats on his head. ‘I’ll leave that on free for all, and regulate that as I see how they play. Now EXP sharing; If I set it to equal, will that make every kill the equal for everyone by dividing it, or does everyone get the full amount in the party?’ He thought this through as he looked at his menu. “I’ll make it equal to everyone to see how that goes for now and change it later…” He said to himself as he changed that.

He then closed his menu and looked to the two as they agreed to going and getting items, but knew there was a slight problem with that. Akumada then put his hand on his chin and thought. “That is true. The Inn might not be a bad idea. We all took damage and should heal up…I just wondered how that works…” He said meaning the Inns then looked at Vrice as she mentioned her form. “Hmm, I can’t say if you could get a room for youself…as for getting a room at all, I say we caused enough trouble here to have them not want to rent out a place us…and by we and us, I mean you two and that other fox.” He said as he looked at them with an annoyed look as he pointed at them. He was referring to the rodeo in the middle of town not too long ago. Akumada then sighed and opened his menu again and went to maps. “If we can’t find one, we can go to Calista to the west and get an inn there after we stalk up. I don’t think Merchants will care about who's buying when money’s involved. That is if natural behavior was coded into these NPC that is.” He explained to them. "But I'll let you guys choose if we stay or head on to the next town, though." He told hem as he crossed his arms.

Akumada was thinking steps ahead now. If they went there they be closer to the mission he reserved and they could gain experience along the way. It be better than shopping all day and bunking in an inn till night as it seemed they had plenty of time to travel. If anything they could work through the night, but the Inn and items were the only known way to restore health among their party.

Yafang

Yafang looked up as he stared at the stupid hat. Okay, maybe he actually liked the hat, but he wouldn't tell the others that! As Vri said he was now a trust goblin mount he simply gave her a "watch it horse ass" look as he turned to look at Akumada. When he said that he deserved less EXP because of the fact that he was ridden, Yafang simply chuckled and asked,"But who saved you? Who got most of those little bastards off you? I'm sure they were trying to ride you too."

At the mention of finding a inn for the night and picking up supplies, Yafang opened up his menu and clicked the map icon which was a simple map. He scrolled through it before grinning. "
I found an inn that welcomes demihumans. It even has a stable ." At the mention of the stables, Yafang looked up at Vri as a wicked grin fell onto his face. Now the hard part would be trying to get through the crowd. Yafang sat on the ground on all fours as he tried to think. His ears moved slightly which made the hat swish slightly with the little feather at the tip flopping over. He could easily wear a hat to cover his ears and just tuck his tail in. Akumada looked the most human out of all of them, so that wasn't a big deal. But Vri, serious work would have to be done for Vri to be considered normal.

After some thinking, Yafang suddenly sprung up to his two feet and looked over to Vri. "
I have an idea," he said "Okay so hear me out: your half horse, so why not make the other half horse too? We could toss a fake horse head onto you to make you look like a real horse. One of us would have to ride on your back to make it look like you're an actual horse. Would you be okay with that? If not, we could try to make you a fake rider outfit, but that may take too long."

Something like this for armor though the metal plating would be light to offer mobility a well as to avoid slowing her down.

A light frown tugged upon the corners of her lips as Yafang suggested this. But after thinking it over, she had found a few flaws. "To get through the city I would just have to get used to the weight upon my back, though how do you plan on making a believable horse head and concealing my torso? If you haven't noticed we are quite short on..." She trailed off, looking at he cart of poorly skinned hides. It was frighteningly convenient. Walking over she picked one up before opening her inventory and dropping it inside. Once it had vanished, the centuaress scrolled through her many menus until finding the one with the miscellaneous skills. And of course, one was labeled "Hide Tanning." It was level 1, so the outcome wouldn't be all that lovely, though she selected it along with the pelt before a dagger appeared in her right hand and a makeshift wooden rack in front of her with the pelt strung up, the fur facing her.

Taking a step towards the utility, the object had a meter on top that read:

Hide Tanned - 0%

"
Well I think we found our answer..."" She replied, glancing from her party members to the rack and back again.

Blazing Fists

Akumada growled at the fox as he chuckled at him. “Watch it fox! You got 2 to 3 off me tops, and brought the rest you didn’t kill onto me. I at least didn’t get rode like an animal and stood up like the being I am.” He told the fox as he growled still. Akumada then huffed at Yafang seemed to go into his Menu and mentioned finding a Inn that will accept them. Akumada raised an eyebrow at this as he thought Yafang would want to stay in character. ‘Guess he’s not one those that 100% commits.’ He thought then shrugged. “Fine, we’ll gather the supplies and head there then.” He told them and was about to head back into town when Yafang sat on the ground on all fours again and seemed to think. ‘Oh, what now?’ He thought then looked at the fox.

When Yafang sprung up Akumada watched dully as he said he had an idea. ‘An idea for what…?’ He questioned. He then raised an eyebrow at the half cocked idea of turning Vrice into a whole horse. Akumada face palmed as he listened to how it was going to happen, and that if she refused they make it look like she was a rider on the horse. He then started to pinch the bridge of his nose as Vrice talked about having weight on her back. “What not use to carrying a boulder on your back to train…?” Akumada asked and shook his head and held a hand up to stop any one from asking what he meant by that. “Never mind…That idea is so ridiculous that it affected my brain a bit…” He told them then sighed.

Alright, how are we going to do this?” He asked as he was just going to role with it. He then looked to Vrice as she seemed to trail off with her questioning as she seemed to notice something. He watched with a raised eyebrow as she went to the cart and picked up the hides. “Oh no…” He said as he knew what was going through her mind. He then face palmed again as she confirmed it with the bringing up of supplies. ‘Dammit…’ He was hoping to humor the fox till he realized they couldn’t do it, But Vrice was the one to find the solution. “Fine if we’re going to have someone ride her it’s going to be me…” He said with a sigh. “Those that had seen the rodeo from before will recognize you even with a disguise if you’re being presented on on her like a tall ass pedestal.” He told Yafang as he pointed at him. He was playing along as he was going to.

Yafang

Yafang bared his fangs as he was called fox and was once again reminded of being ridden. He decided not to say anything, he'd just let it slide this once. Honestly it was hard to explain, but Yafang seemingly acted on impulse. It was as if the game was telling him to do these things. Just like how Vri's natural response was to buck, Yafang's was to occasionally act out like an actual fox.

As Akumada talked about how stupid the plan was, Yafang rolled his eyes as he finally said something he'd been wanting to say for so long. "I don't see you coming up with any better ideas edgelord." When he brought up him being the one who should ride on Vri's back because Yafang stuck out like a sore thumb even with a disguise, he once again rolled his eyes. Because they all knew that the guy who literally almost burned another guy's face off was much less recognizable especially since he was in full view of the crowd.
