"Hurry it up Kittens! We still have 3 more turrets to inspect!" Sergeant Miles Woodgrove barked out through their comms as Ersha and another recruit, Cadet Javier Rotwald, did diagnostics on one of the automated sentry guns posted on the village's perimeter.

"Yes Sarge! Almost done here! Tch... Who put a stick up his ass?" Rotwald grumbled as he closed the maintainence panel with a little more force than necessary. Ersha found his grumbling rather adorable and simply giggled at the sight, tapping away at her Scroll and marking Sentry No.5 to be fully operational and loaded. As the pair packed up their gear and spare ammunition boxes, Rotwald kept staring at Ersha, pulling her attention to her fellow Cadet's stare.

"What's up, Javier? Something on my face or something?" Ersha joked, flashing her usual smile. Rotwald simply shook his head and sighed. Before he could even ask, there was the sudden burst of gunfire and the pair immediately dove to the ground before turning to look at the direction of the noise.

"That's Sentry No.3!" Rotwald exclaimed as Sergeant Woodgrove can be heard over their comms.

"Everyone down! HQ come in, Sentey No.3 is active! Requesting a Sitrep, over!" His voice assured Ersha that it shouldn't be that serious if he didn't ask them to get the hell outta there.

"Stanford here. Looks like a Lancer swarm was probing our defences. The Sentry nailed a couple but the rest escaped out of range. The perimeter is still secure. Over." Cadet Adrian Stanford reported over the comms as Rotwald and Ersha breathed a sigh of relief.

"Very well. Citron, Rotwald, hold position near Sentry No.5 and stay alert. I'm coming to pull you two out. Woodgrove out." The Sargeant ordered through the comms.

"Citron here. We read you loud and clear, holding." Ersha responded before turning over to stare at the gently falling snow with a sigh.

"Well... Looks like we got an early break..."

With her face buried in a book, a young barista rests her back lazily against a large chrome coloured machine. The machine hums quietly and the soft roar of chatting couples fills the coffeehouse. The morning was often busiest but she knew that come midday the cafe would clear out for a few hours and the words on the pages before her would resonate deeper within the canals of her mind. As it was, the words made sense but didn't make her think. She hated when she could only take a sentence at face value. It defied everything she was taught. "Nothing is as it seems on the surface," her father would tell her. "Corruption and meaning run deep." She loses focus on the pages before her and begins to recall the conversation with her father. "Remember this when you're over there. They will lie, they will cheat, they will steal, but what matters most is that you see through this and do what's right. Even if it's only right for you."

She continues to stare blankly at the paper pages before a loud thud jolts her back to reality. "Heather," yells her employer, "How long have you been standing there? Two lattes and a skinny cap. Quickly." She places the book down and picks up two glasses. She'd make the lattes first, adding the heated milk to them before focusing on the cappuccino. The lattes are handed across the counter by another member of staff named Cyan. He was a strong sort with slanted eyes and pale skin. He wasn't unlike many of the men back in Mistral but he'd never been there. The two spoke of the place frequently with him listening and prodding her with questions. He smiles at the customers parting his lips slightly before turning back around to what he was doing.
The three of them together keep the cafe running smoothly with her working the coffee machine, her boss working the till and serving, and Cyan working the kitchen each one excelled in their area but could easily interchange positions with one another. "You alright today, babes?" Heather looks up from the cup she held firmly underneath the spout of the machine to her boss. "Yeah. I'm just a little distracted."

"If you're not feeling well you can go home."
"No no! No. I'm fine. I swear." Heather says looking back at the cup that had now been filled with a shot of coffee. She adds the heated milk to it and looks at her boss again whilst she picks up the small container of powdered chocolate. "If you say so, babes. Just don't work yourself to death. We can always call in Nichole if you're falling behind in your studies or something." Heather nods and sprinkles chocolate powder over the cappuccino and pushes it forward to the edge of the bench. "One skinny cap?"

The smell and view of new experiences around her made the small girl quite happy. It had become somewhat difficult when she constantly have to walk everywhere but with her new friend, she didn't have to use her feet as much. "Ok, I'll make sure to wait here then. Take your time Saka-san!" Momo responded chipper before getting on the bike herself, her feet landing promptly against the ground. "Teddie, do you think we can get something more colorful than these clothes?" The small girl asked her teddy bear.

Indeed she was getting her older clothes dirty with all the travel that she has done with Sakamoto, it was time to get another set of clothes. Of course the small girl was not one to waste clothing on hand, so she would just simply keep the old clothing somewhere safe. The purple haired girl started walking to the side of the gas station, noticing the smell of death in the air. As she got closer to the smell, she noticed that there was a dead wolf faunus child in a old brown box.

The smell of death no longer bothered her as she was unfazed by the corpse she was looking at. Taking the dead faunus out of the box, she noticed this bright red colored dress on the body. From the looks of the dress, it was about her size though a bit bigger but none the less something that she could fit. Momo began to slip out of her own clothes and took the body out of the red dress.

Then the canine faunus began changing into the red dress in front of her, even adding a cute accessory as the red bow in her head. Momo tried her best to place the body in the box that she had found it. "Ah, thank you for the dress faunus-chan. Teddie and I promise that you will have a good life in the afterlife." Momo prayed towards the girl, she made her teddy bear do the same. She smiled at the girl before walking back towards the bike, sitting down next to it while waiting for Sakamoto to come back from inside the shop.

By the time Sakamoto had returned to his bike, the sight of what had appeared to had been Momo in a new set of attire had caused the male Faunus to arch. Noticing as she had seemed to remove the cloak he had given her, he took the guess that she stored it into the storage of the bike along with the rest of the food that he bought the evening before from the town he left. Wherever or for whatever reason the young female Faunus had gotten the new dress from, Sakamoto paid no mind to it let alone the fact that it was also quite dirty as well compared to what she already wore earlier that was probably even more dirty then what she wore now. Shrugging off the fact of what she wore, after paying for the refueling of his bike; Sakamoto spent the few minutes to let his bike completely refuel before going anywhere.

During the few minutes of silence as he stood there with his grip upon the handle; squeezing the trigger to make sure the fuel entered the tank of the motorcycle, a rather unexpected event decided to immediately take place in the middle of him refueling. Quickly, Sakamoto had reached his free hand from his side just to place it onto the left side of his head as a severe throbbing sensation of a horrid headache seemed to begin out of nowhere. Although to anyone that might've looked at him, it would appear as he was just having a slight headache of sorts but to Sakamoto it had felt like there was something in his head digging at his brain and trying to rip it in two; in fact it was none other than the Grimm that was residing deep inside of him trying to take control over it's host's body; in his case it was the Dragon Grimm in particular.

Listening over the painful sensation of the head throbbing, the sounds of growling echoing deep inside his body could easily be heard mentally as from time to time Sakamoto's own hues of his eyes shifted from their normal ruby and emerald eye color to either black or yellow. Attempting to keep himself under control only brought further pain throughout his body as he struggled just to stand straight while he refueled his bike. 'Why..now?...' With that only thought ringing through his head, Sakamoto soon began to squeeze the trigger of the handle tighter till he had slightly began to even crush the handle in his grip just from the slight overtaken of his body by the Dragon Grimm within him. As minutes passed which had felt like an eternity for trigger to finally click to signal that the tank of the bike was full, the sudden click in his palm was able to distract the Grimm within him enough for him to take back full control over his body and halt all pain immediately. Though, even if the pain had halted, it still left Sakamoto breathing rather heavily from the exhaustion of just keeping himself under control.

After a while of nothing but uneventful flying which Faridah was quickly getting bored of, she flicked through the sensors and various cameras laden throughout the ship flipping through to see which one had the best view. It was at this moment did a thought go through her head, 'who was the person behind the other aircraft she was following?' she was about to hail the other ship until she realized that her boss would probably disapprove. Flicking one of the cameras to show the cargo hold to confirm if Sarcoline was still asleep Malik came upon a unsettlingly cute scene of her boss sleeping on Lorica's shoulder. Quickly flicking away from that, Malik hailed the other airship in hopes of striking up a conversation.

After so many hours of quietly listening to his in flight music, Radio silence was finally broken. The sound of the Atlasean dropship's pilot came over the speakers, grabbing the faunus' attention. "This is Albion Hunt. How ya been Faridah? Did your boss kill your weekend plans?" He asked with a hint of snark in his tone, figuring it wouldn't hurt to chat with the familiar pilot. "So how'd that last mission go, you never did get back to me on that, and don't give me "The Boss was riding me" shit" he added, mirth barely detectable in his tone. It had been a while since the two chat. Her being one of the few Faunus friendly humans, the two had become drinking buddies on occasion. Since they both technically worked for the same person, it just allowed them to click.

Faridah smirked and rolled her eyes when she heard the familiar voice through the radio, immediately muting herself she mumbled to herself, "this guy" after that she umuted to continue the conversation. "oh! its you! long time no talk." Malik gestured as if she was talking to him in person in her cockpit simply to amuse herself. "well, y'know duty calls." it was obvious through the tone of her voice that she wasnt exactly happy about the 'new arrangement' in her schedule, but she didnt necessarily disliked it either. "Last mission went smoothly, thanks for askin. Simple cargo transport you know how that goes." she gave him a little chuckle. "how about you? how have you been? How'd you get roped into the boss' shenanigans? i wonder if there are more who are."

Albion chortled a bit from her explanation, before replying. "She didn't rope me into it, other way around actually." He began, pulling the Nevermore up beside her ship. "Not sure how much she told you of the mission, but I had gleaned from one of my Unfortunate victims info and the last known location of a high ranking White Fang enforcer known as the Grimm Reaper. I told your boss, she wanted to come along for this trip. Honestly, she could have just rode in here instead of tore you away from whatever plans you had. Not that you're unwelcome." The Faunus continued, checking the fuel gauge finding he had about half a tank. "How are you doing on fuel?"

Faridah's eye brow rose when she heard that her boss was roped into something, it was unusual for anyone around her to do something she didn't plan on, unless... Shaking her head vigorously she shoved the thought away, thinking any further down the rabbit hole would give her a headache. "i, see. It seems she has something to surprise us then." it would make sense, she wouldnt do something unnecessarily. Or, she didnt trust him. "oh! im doing fine on fuel, these dropships are military grade y'know. but some extra fuel on the way wouldnt hurt if you're running low."

Momo glanced back at the wall she had gotten the dress, she offered another thank you towards the dead faunus. She would make sure to honor the dress, it was quite more comfy than her usual attire. While waiting for Sakamoto, she was able to place her other dress back into the small department of the motorcycle. When seeing him leave the store, she smiled warmly at him with using her teddy bear's paw and waving at him.

The purple haired girl simply looked at the bike while he placed several things in the department as well. "Ah are you ok Saka-san?! Nothing hurting is it?" Momo was looking at the dented handle bar, amazed by the raw power that he was displaying. I have such a powerful companion! Let's make more friends like this. She thought to herself as she continued to hug her teddie bear while twisting her body back and forth slowly. She also could slightly hear the wild breathing that he was displaying, however she didn't want to oppose a conflict of interest on her own behalf.

Friends were hard to come by for many reasons, however she was always welcoming when it came to actually having friends. "A-Ah do you want to play down or anything?! I think that Teddie and I can find somewhere to rest for a little bit." She really wanted to be friends with him, however she had to wait or she would scare him and be alone like she was before.

After finishing the refueling of his bike, Sakamoto had to stand in the same spot for a few moments in complete silence to attempt to catch his breath from the painful sensation he had just witnessed moments ago. Even when he had listened to Momo's question out of concern as it sounded like towards him from right in front of him, he would keep absolutely silent and continue to try and catch his breath completely before locking the handle of the fueling pump back onto it's original spot. By the time he was back to normal, Sakamoto had returned his attention onto Momo with a slight smile across his own lips before simply nodding once to her. "No need to worry Momo, I am okay...and no, I do not need to lay down...We must keep going forward. There is still light, so we can continue." With that, he made sure to climb back onto the seat of the motorcycle before kicking the support from the side off and revving the bike to start it up. Mere moments after doing so, the bike immediately went forward with nothing more than leaving a cloud of dust behind it at the refueling station.

-- Time Skip --

Hours after leaving the refueling station and continuing on his path towards Vacuo, although Sakamoto had known well enough that the travel there was still long before he actually was going to reach the lands of Vacuo; the fact that the closer he reached towards his destination, the more he could easily start to tell the change in climate as heat rose slowly. The heat hadn't bothered him much but yet there was no doubt that once he started to reach the more heated roads, he was going to have to be a bit more careful for any thieves that might be lurking around.

Aryl finally woke up, or at least came back to reality. He took out one of his earbuds and looked to Albion. "Talking to Faridah? Tell her I say hi." He says, going back to looking out the front window. "Man, it's been quiet... Shouldn't be much longer, yeah?" He asked, checking his scroll for the time. He was beginning to regret being with Albion, he definitely wasn't the conversation type, at least not with him.

Several hours had passed since the misfit strike team left Atlas, and after a rather uneventful flight, the two Airships arrived in Vale, fuel nearly depleted and in desperate need of a refuel. Seeing the landing platform, normally reserved for Atlasian military, the two modest sized craft made their approach. "This is 575 Nevermore requesting authorization to land and refuel. We are escorting Major Eburnea." The burned faunus said into his headset as they buzzed the tower before hovering above the said platform.

"This is Faridah Malik of the Atlesian fleet flying the 216 Haruda, with the 575 Nevermore. How copy?" After a few seconds both of the ships requested authorization the vale air control confirmed their landing and directed them to a hanger bay. "hey looks like we're near the new capital! up for some sight seeing while we refuel?" Faridah flipping through a few switches around the cockpit while looking at a sensor looking over at the capital in the distance with large buildings reaching towards the sky. flipping another switch she turned her mic into the intercom inside the cargobay, "wakey wakey sleepy head! Lorica can you be a dear and wake up the boss? Tell her we're near the vale Capital to refuel."

Lorica looked up to where the voice was coming from and gently shook Sarcoline awake, she watched as her creator tiredly look up at her with gray bags under her eyes. "waah?" She rubbed her eyes and yawned, stretching. "What happened? are we there yet?" Sarcoline looked back at Lorica, her bags seemingly disappeared suddenly. "No, we're refueling at the Vale capital." Her creator seemed to stare at her with an intent to kill for approximately 3 seconds before changing her expression. "Ah.." Putting a hand on her cheek to think about what she could do over here but it seemed to take a while.
