Realistic or Modern From The North With Fury (Always Accepting)

Soldiers surrounded the camp of the Vikings, hidden from their view. The night hiding them from view. 200 of them. The attack would begin soon. Sadime strode through the woods, armor clad, sword at her side. Her dark red hair shining through the trees, gray eyes alert and fiery. Sadime sat down on an dead log, looking around the forest.

Eira sat around the fire, watching her fellow maidens dance around the roaring fire, their shadows moving as they did, her eyes watched as the shadows warped with the flicking of the flames. In her hands was a rabbit she had caught earlier, her knife gently cutting away the pelt from the pink skin. She should feel relaxed, but something kept her on her toes, there had yet to be any threat against them landing, surely they didn't leave this land unguarded. She pulled the last of the pelt free from the carcass, tossing it at one of the men to roast it over the fire. Eira let out a sigh as she stabbed her knife into the soil, she had not seen Arvid since they landed, normally he would rally them to attack as soon as possible, but he had disappeared as soon as they had started setting up camp.

Arvid scowled slightly as he met the eyes of a woman. She was clutching an axe, and Arvid happened to be unarmed, so he simply put his pointer finger up to his lips. "Leave now and die." He commanded, crouching down as he did. He wondered why they happen cleared out this house already, it was sitting only a short way off from the camp. Maybe he'd have a chat with patrol and see why they missed this place.

Serana backed against the wall as she met the eyes of the Viking, doing her best to keep as far away from him. She noticed he was unarmed, and weighed the chances, she had a good aim, but she wasn't strong. Her grip tightened around her axe, heart beating faster, what did he want? Serana let out a shuddering breath before asking In a whisper "What do you want?" Finding it harder for her to breath, if she left she would die, but if she stayed...

He moved in a slight bit closer, the wood creaking under his boots as he did. The smell of the fire was strong and the room was alight with a comforting orange glow. "What do I want? Heh...well...I want you to leave." Arvid chuckled, pointing towards the doorway. "Now scram, alright?" He hissed.

@DarknessSpirit

Serana's eyes narrowed and she stepped closer, axe in hand "And die? Your unarmed, abs have no men to back you up. I think you should be the one leaving." Serana hissed, starting to move around him, towards a window.

Arvid eyed her axe. She didn't seem like she terribly experienced with the weapon by the way she was holding it. The other detail is that it happened to be a woodcutter's axe, not a real weapon. There was no way that this random villager was trained in combat. So, with that thought in mind, Arvid lurched forward, simply yanking the axe away from her in a single fluid motion. "Say again?" The man beamed, holding the tool firmly.

Eira shifted, something wasn't right, the crickets fell silent and the birds had stopped calling. She snatched up her knife up, the other vikings taking no notice of her as they drank and enjoyed themselves. Her blue eyes squinted as she stared into the shadows of the forest around them. Eira's eyes shot open she swore she saw something glint in the moonlight. Getting up she stalked over to Arvids tent popping her head in, where had he gone? Eira stared towards the woods again, deciding to go alone, she crept towards the tree line, her weapon held low by her thigh.

Serana took a large step back from him as he axe was yanked from her grip, her nicely curved figure continued to back towards the window, blue eyes glancing from the axe to his face. She put out her hands in front of her. "Listen.. Just take what you want, just don't kill me" Serana said, a hint of fear in her voice.

Weighing the axe in his hands, Arvid looked back up to the woman who was now begging him. Letting out a huff of frustration, he walked slightly closer, casting a shadow over the stranger. "The more you talk, the more I want you dead. So gods help me..." He muttered the last sentence turning away to rummage through a cupboard. He just came across clothes upon clothes, he through he garment to the side as he dug, they would be of no use to him. With a raised brow, Arvid turned back to the woman. "Okay, I won't kill you if you show me the most valuable thing in your home, hm?" The Viking spoke like he would to a small child, slow, dumb, and deliberately.

The hut came into view, Eira frowned, she expected better for their patrol to miss such an obvious threat. She checked over her shoulder before pressing forwards, maybe she would get the first pickings of the valuables. Eira picked up her pace, the front door was already open, making her curse under her breath, peering in she heard Arvid's voice, "Arvid?" She called, stepping inside cautiously, she had no idea what to expect.

Serana's hand found a small knife on the windowsill, keeping it behind her, and making sure it remained hidden she watched silently. Serana let out a sigh of relief, although she couldn't help but feel angry at the way he spoke to her. She tucked the dagger into her corset dress. She walked down the stairs, expecting him to follow, only to be met by a girl, looking like a Viking. She recalled leaving one of her windows open downstairs.

She froze as the girl said his name. Arvid. Arvid. The one who killed her father. Serana froze up, her face paled, and she slowly turned around "Arvid." Serana breathed out in barely a whisper. Serana's eyes narrowed. Every instinct is as telling her to kill him, but to her right, was an open window. Serana glanced between the two, before dashing towards the open window, sprinting at full speed.

Arvid followed the woman as she led him down the stairs, to whatever valuable object she may have had. He'd kill her outright it if I she was wasting he time, Arvid thought to himself. Maybe he should just ask so he wouldn't be wasting yet more precious time. He opened his mouth to speak, but a voice that he recognized pierced the practical silence of the room. Arvid recoiled in surprise slightly but able to regain his composure as he spotted a familiar face staring back at him. "Eria? Yes, Eria." Shaking his head slightly, the Viking was about to explain his plan when he caught the mystery woman leaping towards a window opening out of the corner of his eye. She was too fast to catch, and the man just ended up stumbling over his own feet when lurching forward to try to catch her.

Eira couldn't help but laugh, did Arvid the great half swede just let a innocent little girl escape, she shook her head at him as she closed the distance between them, "you're getting soft" she spoke calmly as she inspected the house. "Haven't seen you at all today" she raised an eyebrow, "not like you..." Eira teased, her eyes shot to the window the woman had escaped.

Serana gathered her skirts and jumped out the window. Serana turned around glancing back at the two, a safe distance away. Serana tilted her head. "You killed my father Arvid. My family. Now I'll just have to kill yours." A cold, deadly edge to her voice, before gathering her skirts and running off in the direction of the camp, the dark night shrouding her from sight.

Arvid rolled back to his feet with a groan, rubbing his head where he had slammed into the wood of the floor. "Ouch...yeah. I am beginning to think I may be." He said to Eria. The girl was screaming something outside, but Arvid would rather not give the little devil any attention it didn't deserve. His blue eyes flicked back to the shieldmadien that stood before him. "Heh...that's because I found a woman in one of the nearby houses." He smirked, shifting on his feet. "I've been making her know her place all night."

@Sharkiee

Eira rolled her eyes, "how exciting " Her voice filled with sarcasm. She ran her hand through her hair turning away to ruffle through some draws, "the men are without orders..." she spoke firmly as she picked up a chain with a green pendant dangling from the end, she tucked it into her belt.

Serana ran and ran until she arrived at the camp, the soldiers would take to long to start the attack, so Serana decided to take revenge into her own hands. She ran to a small group of Viking, she looked frantic, and upset. "P-please, help me, Arvid was wounded, come on! He needs your help!" Serana nearly shouted hysterically.

The three Vikings started running the direction she came from, they had only jogged a couple paces, before Serana took out her small dagger and stabbed her dagger into the Vikings spine. The other two spun around, but Serana had already plucked her dagger from the dead Vikings back and threw it into another ones, it was a bit of a sloppy throw, but still landed into his chest, but lightly.

Serana picked up the dead mans axe, although it weighed heavily in Serana's arm. Serana charged at the standing viking, tackling him to the ground and slicing into his neck with her the giant axe. Two Vikings dead, she went over to the one she had thrown her dagger in. Who was coughing up blood, dagger in his chest. Blood all over Serana's white dress, Serana kneeled down next to the dying man and whispered coldly. "When Arvid and his little bitch finds you, you tell Arvid, that paybacks a bitch, and that this, this is only the beginning." Serana whispered in a deadly voice. Serana then slowly stood up before sprinting off in the direction of the coast and ships.

"Indeed. But they aren't children. The are grown men and woman. I don't need to spoonfeed them." Arvid grumbled as he fished a strip of dried pork from his pocket, tearing off a salted chunk with his teeth. "What do you think of this...place." He asked, holding out a second piece of meat for Eira. "I'm starting to think it's more trouble than it's worth. These Christians are just as poor as us."

@Sharkiee

Eira scolded at him for a moment, snatching the strip from his hand, "you're their leader, therefore you lead.. not dance around with the Christian wenches" she pulled some of the dried meat off, chewing it before speaking again. "We have wasted too much resources coming here, like you said, the soil is fertile, better than what we have at home" she shifted her weight, staring out the window momentarily, suddenly recalling the flash she had seen in the shadows, "Arvid, there is a threat around the camp, I can feel it, the men are far too drunk..." she frowned, "I saw something in the shadows" she admitted.

@John Raptorfist

"Pffft! I wasn't dancing." He scoffed, taking another bite of his dried meat. Arvid let his mind wander until his ears caught the last few sentences of Eira's tirade. "Hm? You think so? Like what?" He asked, while still chewing the though food. It was true that the men were drunk and would be vulnerable to an attack, maybe they should go check. Arvid tapped his foot slightly as he awaited an answer.

@Sharkiee

"Oh, so you care now" she teased popping the last of the food in her mouth, "it's just a feeling I have... but I swore I saw something in the shadows of the forest" she shrugged turning to head for the door, "but it could just be a trick my eyes were playing on me" she grew bored of picking around the woman's house, "so, if you're done in here..." she spoke over her shoulder as she left, "I'll be outside" and with that she had disappeared out the front door.

@John Raptorfist

Clearing his throat, Arvid grinned as the woman spoke. "Probably just a Jotun." He teased, stepping outside with her. The breeze was cool and it just barely rustled the emerald trees above their heads. The sky was a wide expanse of deep indigo, with tiny pinpricks of light that where the stars peppering its tapestry. Funny, how they were the very same stars that where back in Bersig. To the east, the Stars faded into the lighter blue background. Dawn was just barely breaking the horizon.

@Sharkiee

She brought her elbow into the man's side, letting out a huff, "well if it was a jotun.. it was a bloody tiny one" she paced ahead of him, she hated being mocked by Arvid, it reminded her of were she came from. Eria sulked quietly for a moment, her eyes focused on the dim path ahead of her. Her eyes squinted as she noticed something coming up ahead, three bodies lay in the shadows ahead, "Arvid.." she spoke in a hushed tone, her hand falling to her side, where her knife was tucked, slowing to a halt.
