A dove just flew into the screen door on our open front door out of complete random, just stood literally a foot in front of me for a few minutes as I looked at it out on the front porch, looked around and at me like it couldn't fly, then just walked to the edge of the porch and flew away like nothing happened.

Man, can we take a minute to just think about how crazy that is? Flight. Like, up until the carboniferous period, there wasn't anything in the air. That's such a weird idea! Like, nothing in the air or trees to bother you!

I think birds are pretty cool. Especially birds of prey. And owls, I love owls.


There was one summer, though, where it seemed like every bird that was flying around our property tried to dive bomb and peck me. It freaked me the fuck out.


Then there's Killdeers (their legit name) that lay their nests on the ground. Sometimes in the middle of the goddamn driveway. Then they squawk at us like we are going to kill them when we are just walking around. Fucking morons.

Well, Mr. Smarty Pants, sorry I was asking? How did I know if it was walking around, or flying, or doing something dumb and weird like birds do? 'Cause I think the dove I saw was seriously trying to kill itself.

xD ! Raptors are pretty cool, I'd agree to that. We get the occasional hawk in the Summer where I live and like. . They are freaking scary. I'll be taking a walk on the bike path, which is just an off beat and trail paved road that use to be for trains. And then I hear a squawk and see a Hawk just. . Circling me. Going lower as I walk further in the same direction. Shit freaks me out, their talons aren't a fucking joke.


Hell, I don't mess with a pack of geese. Those fuckers are fierce when protecting the younglings.
