I don't know, I'm just not buying it. It was hinted a lot that he'd betray Felix, but it was still kinda a 180. Well... more like a 120, but whatever. It just... didn't feel natural to me. I can only think of one time wherein the differences in their morals felt real, other than that it just seemed like Locust didn't like Felix. So I can buy him betraying Felix, but I can't buy him not killing the Reds and Blues. As for Felix's death, what about when the grenade hit his feet? He could have easily kicked the grenade away. I'd expect the Reds and Blues to do that, not even talking about Felix.

I believe that Santa is what made the difference. Santa has tried to talk to Locus before to make him change his ways. This time, it worked. Want to know why? Because he hit Locus hard in the same way that Wash did last season. He questioned and judged Locus himself, as well as his actions. That really got to him. Except this time, instead of being fully capable of taking out the judge, Locus was heavily wounded and felt like shit. He couldn't really get up and ignore it. He was stuck with staying there and listening to the A.I. talk, delving deep into his mind to know how to change it. Also, he can't exactly beat up a hologram. To add to that, only minutes before, Felix had just bossed Locus around and treated him like trash just so he could fill his personal vendetta. I doubt Locus appreciated that. As for why he didn't kill the Crew. Santa specifically asked what he was going to do, why he was going to do it, and if it was even worth it. He basically told Locus that uselessly killing people, especially now when they've already lost, is worthless. And, just like I said before, him talking like that really spoke to Locus as a person. Santa knows how to get to people and manipulate them, usually for the better, and he definitely did that with Locus in this episode. That conversation with Santa and Felix's total disregard for his wellbeing only minutes before is what made Locus willing to betray Felix and break away from him. And it seemed very believable. I say that because he didn't actually help the Crew with killing Felix. He basically said, "I'm done with you and fuck you," then left the Crew to deal with Felix on their own. If he had actually helped them kill Felix, that wouldn't have been believable, because I doubt that he could ever actually kill Felix without Felix trying to kill him first. Instead, he use his intimidation factor against Felix to scare him, then he left. And I understand why he didn't kill the Crew. Because, for one, he was badly hurt. If they could all take down Felix, then they could probably take down a heavily wounded Locus easily. So it would have gotten him killed if he had fought them. Also, remember the conversation that he had with Santa. During that conversation, Santa made him realize that killing the Crew would be useless, because it wouldn't benefit him in any way. It would just waste his time and strength. Locus even kinda said that to Felix minutes earlier, that "it's over", that they have lost most of their forces and it would be a waste to continue fighting. I think Santa's conversation with him (and, again, since Felix wasn't around to sway his decision) is really what finally made him change his ways. That is why Locus' betrayal didn't feel rushed to me. If he had just done it out of the blue without any push from an outside force like Santa, then yeah, it would have been rushed. Especially if he had also decided to physically help the Crew kill Felix as well. But he didn't, and he wasn't truly hostile to anyone. He just cut his ties with everyone (no matter how he viewed the people) and left to regroup and regain. That is a lot of talking and it might be a bit wacky because I'm typing this when I can between classes, but it's what I think.


Now, back to Felix. I specifically said that the way he was killed was pretty dumb, with him just looking at the grenades and being loud rather than running like any sane person would have. I really thought it would have been more believable if he had ran from the grenades rather than just yelled about them being there. So I do agree on that. But the fact that the Crew was able to take him out, even without the help of anyone, didn't seem off to me at all. They have taken out enemies before as a team, even if they had one or two other people to help them along. Them taking Felix out just shows that they are gaining even more trust for each other and can work as a team better than they even could before. Also, Felix isn't a big tough guy that is really strong like a lot of their enemies have been in the past (Tex, the Meta). He is just flashy, loud, intimidating, and overwhelming. But overwhelm him instead, and you have him beat. Because he doesn't like it when he's losing; it throws off his whole game and makes him falter. So make him flustered, find his weak spots, and he can be taken out. That's exactly what the Crew did, and the presence of Locus saying "fuck you" to Felix just made that tangerine waffle iron become scared and that much easier to beat.

I doubt he would unless there was a situation that called for it. I would just love to see any interaction between them, to be honest.
