Realistic or Modern Foster Life

".. Okay, dad..." He sobs feebly in response. That was certainly new, even though he'd only been with family for a week he just referred to Jack as his 'dad' - it may have just been the panic that was ongoing that made him blurt it out, but he didn't seem to regret saying it either.

[QUOTE="Aryn Harris]"Yeah. Just like Jack says. I'm gonna be fine." She says quietly. She rubs his back soothingly.

".. Okay." He hugs her with both arms and closes his eyes, setting his head against her side.

Amanda gives a small smile and her breath hitches as another contraction comes on. She bites her lower lip hard to keep from yelling out in pain.

He'd feel the flinch brought on by the contraction and he'd try to remain calm but still lets out a quiet whimper alongside a shaky deep breath. ".. Does it hurt again...?" He asks quietly.

"If you're having contractions, just take deep breaths. It helps." Wendy suggested. As for what she did for a living, she did see pregnant women coming in regularly. She couldn't imagine what it was like to be dealing with the insomnia, heartburn, back ache, all those cramps. However, because she didn't want to have a family in the future, she knew that at some point in her life, she'd have to go through what Amanda is currently going through. "Oh, I am a Massage Therapist by the way, so I can help if you're dealing with any back ache, cramps or whatnot. Well, when we're at home."

[QUOTE="Aryn Harris]Amanda nods her head and lays her head back against the seat, breathing deeply.

He sighs and keeps her in an embrace. ".. It's okay... I'm gonna' look after you..." He says quietly in reassurance.

Amanda smiles at Wendy and nods her head. She begins to take deep breaths and sighs in relief when the pain subsides. "Thank you, Jackson." She murmurs, holding him close.

".. You look after me all the time, so... That means I gotta' help you, too." He states simply, sniffling a few times.

"Is the baby gonna' get born today...?" He asks after overcoming his sadness and worry; he peers up at her while lying against her as the car continues to travel along the highway.

For the rest of the drive Jack was silent, from the shock of having a baby and Jackson's response. They had finally arrived to the hospital and Jack had parked right in the front lane. He quickly put the car in park and got out, heading to Amanda's side, "Come on Amanda, we have to find the emergency room.". He opened the door for her and awaited to get out.

"W-well thas' good, right?" He says in desperation, hoping for a shared enthusiasm from her. He forces a broken smile while looking at her.

He'd follow Amanda out of the car and would also help her out if she needed it. He'd take hold of her hand and wait for Jack's next move - in summary, he'd go wherever they were going.

Amanda laughs lightly and nods her head. "Yeah." She replies. When Jack comes over to her side, and opens the door for her, she steps out of the car. Her eyes close for a few seconds, and she begins to feel even more nervous than she already was. "I'm not ready for this. I was supposed to have another two months!" She says, obviously becoming more and more scared.

".. It's gonna be fine... Right?" He asked her, squeezing her hand tighter while walking alongside her.

"Calm down, try not to freak out, fret or stress. Its bad for the baby." Wendy said calmly.

Amanda nods her head slowly, and takes a deep calming breath, though she's still scared. "Alright. Let's go." She says to Jack.

Jackson is slightly happier to see that she's calmed down more. He keeps a tight grip on her hand while he, Jack, Wendy. And herself presumably go towards the ER.

Amanda nods her head and allows Jack to lead her towards the ER. She bites her lower lip, continuing to take calming breaths.

They don't bother to sign in, but they immediately took Amanda away, leaving Jack with all the paperwork. "Wendy go stay with Amanda, Jackson can't go in there and I have to handle this." He lifted the huge stack of paper.

Jackson's eyes would fill with tears as he watches Amanda be lead away. All of the panic and urgency left him in a depressive mood and on top of all of that had caused his bladder to become slightly overreactive but he didn't say anything about needing to go to the restroom.

Sad and alone he walks over to Jack and would stand at his side, hugging his leg and concealing his face in his thigh.

Wendy did what she was told. Although she was saddened that Jackson couldn't be in the ER with her and Amanda, she knew what she had to do. However, she could only do so much. "Are you feeling any better?" Wendy asked, seeing that her Foster Sister was resting on the hospital bed. She prayed that the delivery wasn't going to be premature, because it could be bad for the baby. "Try laying on your left side. It increases the amount of blood and nutrients that reach your placenta and the baby. Oh and try to keep your legs and knees bent, that also helps apparently." She placed her hand on Amanda's stomach to see what she could do to ease the pain. "This may sound a little weird, but put a pillow in between your legs. Apparently it helps with the cramps."

Jackson was already sitting down when Jack came to him, using his leg as a shield to the world. "Hey now little one, come up here.". He patted the bench to the side of him. His face showed compassion, but his hair showed just how frantic the situation was, for it was messy from him combing it back in frustration.

Even if Jack was buried in the paperwork, he'd soon be able to both hear and feel Jackson sobbing into his thigh. His hug on his foster father's leg would also get tighter.
Jackson would climb up beside him, letting out a quick few sobs while leaning against him, his legs jiterring in discomfort for a few moments.

"Daddy..." He sobs feebly.
