The Summary of the RP


  • Yggdrasil houses the founding base of the Gaze Guild, a civilian force dedicated to training volunteers to slay monsters and assist to keep their cities safer. Gazers serve only to keep their own cities, friends, and family safe to the very best of their abilities. This force may be called to help merchants get from one town to another or a farmer on the outskirts who needs to get rid of a couple of monster pests. The Guild is full of people just wanting to do their part. Nowadays several branches have started to pave their own corners in other nations, whether welcome or not.

    You are part of this force.

Terra, the World

The world, Terra, uses magic for many things. Uses include, but are not limited to: telecommunications, vehicular travel, electric machinery, guns.

Unfortunately, monsters have been running rampant for a while. This threat is to the point that traveling outside of a city’s walls is dangerous without protection or knowing how to fight for yourselves. Older methods of travel has also ceased, like some trains and planes, due to the threat monsters pose to the passengers of these vehicles.



  • ☆ Nestled in the middle of the warring nations, most protected against monster outbreaks. It has a bunch of natural borders, each border depends on which nation it is settled up against. It has quite a few gorgeous cities and well-put together towns. Cities in this world are not giant skyscrapers. One of the nations with the least monster issues.

    ☆ A nation that collects knowledge and freely shares it amongst those interested. They refuse to get in the middle of wars and bickering nations, but they do have a military that focuses on the big monster threats. They focus on their own well-being.

    ☆ There are some scientific groups researching a permanent solution for the magic absorption issues of Twisted, since magic absorption can be devastating if left unchecked. So far, the scientists have just started learning enough to not make Twisted out to be the boogeyman.

    ☆ The main territory that spawned humans due to their melting pot nature millennia ago. Humans then spread out to other territories.

    ☆ Their government utilizes a parliament to vote on issues.

The Magic System


  • ➟ Magic doesn’t create life, sustainable life creates magic.

    ➟ When the land begins to erode and become unsustainable the natural magic of the area begins to disappear, no longer being created by the land and ecosystem.

    ➟ Magic can be siphoned, altered, or destroyed if magic exists. It can be overdone, causing a magic dead zone.

    ➟ Magic is interacted with in different ways based on race; some shape naturally occurring magic of the land and its inhabitants, while others are capable of generating a specific state of magic.

    ➟ Magic is prone to feedback that can make electronics go haywire. For example, a major magic battle knocks telephone communications off the grid.

    ➟ There are different elements to magic. The base elements include, but may not be limited to: Fire, Water (Ice), Earth, Wind, Vitality, Inertia

    Vitality — an excited magic; can be used to give buffs or excite cells to heal quicker than normal. These functions may not be limited to what’s listed here. Have an idea that fits the bill; feel free to check with a GM.

    Inertia — a static magic; can be used to give debuffs or statuses like sleep or body paralysis. These functions may not be limited to what’s listed here. Have an idea that fits the bill; feel free to check with a GM.

    ➟ The base elements can be mixed to create alternate states in item creation or a being is born with these mixed. Examples include, and are not limited to: Electricity, Sound, Gravity (Inertia+Earth), Poison, Light (Vitality+Inertia), Darkness (Inertia+Vitality), Metal, Wood (Vitality+Earth), Spacial (Vitality+Wind), Constructs (Earth+Vitality), etc.

    Spacial — This magic allows a user to utilize space in different ways. One may teleport themselves or an item around. One may also create a small pocket dimension for item storage. here.     Wood — This magic is utilized to manipulate trees or create wood. You can create a few tree sprouts if you sacrifice a tree. You can grow limbs or vines on a tree, but this takes from the tree’s life force, slowly poisoning it and potentially causing it to not bear fruit in its next year.

    ✦ Some nations may have multiple branches due to some nations’ sheer size.

    ✦ Graduating Classes go up in number from 1-100. Once the guild reaches 100, they restart the count.

    ✦ The time it takes to graduate will depend on when your supervisor deems you ready. This takes an average of 1 year.

World Inhabitants

There are three main types of inhabitants: Races, Monsters, and Animals. Races and Monsters will be detailed below. Animals can be your conventional animal that we have, but some more outlandish creatures exist.

All races age at the same rate. They also have the same constitutions.

Two different races may have children. That child will only be one of the two races or end up human if the familial line is too mixed. The child may have physical traits from both parents.




  • They can shape magic that already exists, but cannot generate any of their own. They can use the magic in magic items.


    Humans
    • Overmixed races that in turn look how you’d expect a human to mostly look; though, some might have extra fangs or horns, or nothing at all despite ancestry. As a result, they are born without an attunement to magic
    • They can train to harness any element they want easily, but have a hard time mastering individual elements

    Elvish
    • Born attuned to magic. The element they are more attuned to depends on their heritage.

    • Though they can easily learn and master their naturally attuned element they have a harder time shaping naturally occurring magic to a non attuned element

    • Elvish come in all shapes and sizes: Elf, Dwarf, Gnome, Half-Giants, Centaurs, etc.
    • Elves are more commonly attuned with Inertia, Water, or Wood.
    • Dwarves are more commonly attuned with Fire, Vitality, or Metal.
    • Gnomes are more commonly attuned with Earth, Fire, or Light.
    • Half-giants are more commonly attuned with Wind, Earth, or Electricity.
    • Centaurs are more commonly attuned with Wind, Fire, or Wood.

History


Divine Age

◈ Before Monsters existed

◈ The nation Dhor is founded. At this time, Dhor extended into what is currently known as Yggdrasil


Primal Age

◈1000-701 Years Ago; monsters were almost legends. They existed but were rare and extremely terrifying to the average person.

◈ The nation Elvebredden is founded.

◈ Half of Dhor does not appreciate Elvebredden being against the borders and taking resources they’ve always had access to. The other half does not agree with the argument, believing there’s always a solution without conflict. Civil war brewed within Dhor, breaking it up into what is now known as Dhor and Yggdrasil


Spirit Age

◈ 700-501 Years Ago; A spike in activity places monster sightings more frequent, but they’re still pretty uncommon. No longer thought of as myths/legends.

◈ The nation Ciumă de Fier is founded late in the Spirit Age.

Parima, a small nation, went into another plane, becoming legend as time went on.


Cosmic Age

◈500-251 Years Ago; One of the moon’s (Spirit) deaths caused a massive flood upon the world, while also causing another spike in monster activity. The flood helped shape how Elvebredden appears today. Monsters are now weekly sightings. Some smaller, less protective villages cave and need the larger nations’ protection

◈ Gaze Guild is founded (400-350 years ago)

◈ The nation Tuuli Federation is founded as a means to escape the floods. Parima is safe from the flood due to the alternate plane.


Mystic Age

◈ 250-51 Years Ago; Biggest monster spike in history. Monsters are a daily sighting and people can no longer freely travel without knowing how to dispatch monsters or having protection.

◈ 200 Years Ago; The nation Order of the Flame is founded, though they started to band together more later on.


Dark Age

◈ 50 Years Ago - Current

◈ Weird monsters coming up in frequency, recently discovered

Background

◈The Supreme Monarch Ji-U shot the city she lived in out of the sky. She doesn’t really know the full details as to what called for the shootout but there was probably a good reason. She was lucky to not be injured in the hurtle to the earth, using her own magic to cushion the fall.

◈She started young in the Gaze Guild, originally in one of the Tuuli branches, before Monarch Ji-U had shot the city from the sky. She grew up the ranks and eventually became the Commander, to which she had to relocate to Yggdrasil.

◈She has her opinions about the world and nations, but being the Commander of the Gaze Guild, she often has to restrain herself. Often times, her restraint is visible.

◈Jasper was raised in southern Yggrassil in the crossfire of the Tuuli-Elvebredden Skirmishes. Having seen warrior after warrior dealing with humanoid threats he quickly grew disillusioned with war and Yggrassilian Military after watching the continued destruction. As soon as he was old enough to make it on his own he fled North finding kinship in the guild and it’s policy to strengthen and protect their homes. Since then he rose to officer and then took the captains exam as soon as it became available.

Background

◈The Faejor family has been the head of Elvebredden for many years— the High Priest or Priestess is often chosen before they’re born to be the next in line. Of course, there are other blessed families that assist the Faejor family as other clergy members.

◈Vasati was one of the chosen. Ever since she was born, she was raised to learn all of the deities Elvebredden deems important to worship, as well as the kind of laws that get enacted.

◈While all of that is fine and dandy, the High Priestess tends to be the face— the one looked up to by the masses.

◈The task that was deemed most important for her to learn were her prayers and performances.

◈Fast forward to when the previous Priest retired and it was her time, she was 15.

◈Every waking moment for Vasati, she’s watched and adored. Each day is a different prayer, a different performance, a different Vasati.

◈When an annual Festival is thrown for a diety, she always has a sort of performance and prayer to offer said diety.

◈She does not fight so she has a litany of guards to protect her in specific settings.

◈ Ji-U is a direct descendant of the Brave Prince, Duri, who brought Tuuli back down to the ground which gives him more political power than other Monarchs of Tuuli as the final word on their continued existence

◈ Ji-U has ruled as Supreme Monarch for ten solid years

◈ Ji-U is one of the most war-hungry Supreme Monarchs in recent history and sees the Head Priestess's lack of personal stakes in fighting as proof of her inability to lead and the Theology as an opening to gain more land

◈ Once Ji-U was crowned Supreme Monarch he expanded upon his predecessor's moves to create a national Tuuli Army by requiring a certain percentage of each individual Monarchy's people to be deployed to the ground for service.

◈ Despite the country being a group of Monarchys like his predecessor he does not care if the royals of each isle wind up in a coop and overthrown by another family so long as the isles bow to his authority

◈ Ji-U is only the third Supreme Monarch to make good on the ever-present threat of the Tuuli of Terra having shot an isle out of the sky

◈ Livia is the leader of the Vacca tribe within the Order of the Flames, which grants her a voice whenever the tribes convene in the Joint Council

◈ Livia's Tribe though nomadic like the other Tribes protects the border between Ciumă and the Order ensuring the flames do not overtake their own land as they work to purify the taint from Ciumă

◈ Livia has held the leadership position in the Vacca Tribe for five years

◈ When the tribes convene she appoints her second, Nino, to run the tribe in her absence

◈ Livia is extremely well versed in Magical and Non Magical Combat as is the majority of the Vacca Tribe as they engage in direct skirmishes with Ciumă and monsters often.

◈ Due to the instability of borderlands any of the Vacca order born to be Twisted or Shapers are homed far from the borders with their sister Tribe the Cabral for their own safety
