Rue, the following day from school kept a far distance from Jacob, not wanting him to tell at her once again or upset her. Oddly, she was rather quiet throughout the durations of other lessons and didn't talk to anyone, aguxh was a surprise since she was usually very cheerful. When the lunch hour dawned she drifted off ivti the dirsctuib of the cafeteria.

Alex was in a bad mood. He hadn't cheered up since he'd gotten home from talking to Rue, and then once he'd gotten to school the next day, his frustration rose. However he stayed quiet, until he found Rue near the lunch hall. "Hey, Rue, wait up!" He called, jogging to reach her. He slowed when he reached her, a smile almost wriggling onto his face, but not quite passing his frown. "You okay?"

Rue looks to him and smiles weakly, though it wasn't a cheerful one that she always gave when she saw him, it soon disappeared from her face, making her seem gloomy. "I'm fine" She says simply and picked out and apple and a soda, playing for it and then going over and siting by herself because the table Jacob was currently sitting at was full of jocks.

Alex raised an eyebrow at Rue as he picked up an apple and piece of cake, before sliding into the seat beside Rue. "You don't seem it. It's okay to not be okay you know?" He prompted, taking a bite out of the apple, waving it around in his hand as he continued speaking. "You don't have to pretend to me."

Rue shrugs lightly and played with the top of the apple. "I-I don't know.... I guess I'm just still pretty upset about the Jacob situation" She mumbles, wrapping her arms around herself soon. She looks at him and smiles weakly. "But it doesn't matter now" She says with a lightly shrug, biting into her apple at last.

Alex nodded lightly, before wrapping an arm round Rue's shoulders, rubbing her arm softly in a way that he hoped would comfort her and cheer her up. "Just don't stay so glum, hm? Hiding your pretty smile from the world." Alex said gently as he finished his apple, moving onto his slice of cake and picking at the icing with a slight smile.
