Forbidden Love (Dreamer)

Izabelle-

I thought quickly, "No, I pushed him in. He was oogling over the duchess again". Already, I could feel his glare on my back. He hated the stuck up duchess, but one had to admit she was stunning. And Reven was male. It could have happened!

"We wanted to ask you about cloths"

Reven

I glared at Izabelle when she 'covered' for me, cheeks turning red. I hated that woman more than most anyone, but - but she was very pretty when she didn't open her mouth to speak and no one was supposed to know about the one time I'd stared!

"A-Armor," I said finally, shaking my head. "We wanted to ask about light armor. I know that chain male can be used for armor, but we wanted to know if you can weave fabric tight enough that it can be used for armor."

He raised an eyebrow at us, like he didn't believe. "And why don't you talk to your father? He's the warrior, not me."

((My face after reading that last bit. "Well.... Uh....."))

Izabelle-

I gave Favian a look he knew all too well, the look that said he knew why we couldn't. "Because I want to know too. And you know how Father is with me knowing about knightly stuff"

Reven

I nodded a little, shifting uncomfortably still. "And I think I'm still in trouble. . ."

Favian sighed and shook his head at us, then just reached out and ruffled my hair. "I know. I just wanted to tell a bit of truth for me so I can have plausible deniability later." I frowned. "In any case, no. Fabrics are too easy to cut through. Even something thick as wool can be cleaved by a sword with enough force behind it."

Izabelle-

I frowned, "So... None of the fairytale cloths can be mastered?" Fairytales were no longer children's joys, it was all real. Just another way of life. Something only the magical beings could do.

Reven

Favian sighed softly and gave her an almost scolding look. "What have I told you about saying these sorts of things out loud?" He shook his head, drew them both close and pressed a kiss to each of their heads. "Your father would have my head if he knew I was speaking to you about such things, and he's due to come by any minute now." He gave us both a nudge towards the door. "Now, off. Go and make sure Rallek hasn't caused too much trouble, and we'll speak of this at a later date."

We had long since had to reveal Rallek's existence, since he'd grown too big to hide anymore, even with Favian's magic. I hoped one day we would be able to learn to ride him, if we could ever manage to do so unnoticed.

((I WANNA RIDE HIM!!!!!))

Izabelle-

I hummed to myself, thinking. Rallek came up and bumped his head into my back, his was of saying hello. He filled almost the entire entryway, and I was surprised he hadn't gotten stuck somewhere. My face lit up, and I turned to Reven, "Maybe Rallek knows!"

((ME TOO))

Reven

I made a face at her suggestion even as I held my arms up for Rallek and hugged around his neck as best I could, stroking his muzzle. "Iz!" I hissed in a whisper, looking quickly around. "We're not supposed to talk about that!" No one was supposed to know Rallek could talk to us and to Father. "And - And Uncle Favian's had him since he was little. I don't think he knows much about that kind of stuff. . . Come on. Let's go out to the gardens, Rallek. You have more room there." And he liked flowers.

Izabelle-

I followed behind, pouting and muttering to myself. Geez. Not my fault Father won't let us tell the kingdom. What's the big deal, anyhow? They already knew about a dragon! But was we reached the gardens, I lay down in the grasses as Rallek stuck his head in one of the plots. Somehow, he liked that. I liked watching the sky change from here. And then I remembered, "Uh, Reven, when's that big stupid ball for the duchess?"

Reven

I whined wordlessly from where I'd sprawled along Rallek's back. "Tomorrow night. She's going to make me dance with her, Izabelle," I moaned, throwing an arm over my eyes. "I hate dancing with her. Her smiles are fake and her nails are long. I feel like my shoulder is scratched every time." I didn't mind dancing itself. It was fun with the right people, smooth and fluid motions, and I was good at it - I just didn't like dancing with her.

Izabelle-

I did a very un-princess like thing to do. I stuck my tongue out and blew, making what Father called a "raspberry". "At least you won't have to dance with Prince Flink. He stinks!" He was the prince who always came back to every ball, trying to win me over. And I don't believe he bathes. Or brushes his teeth. And he's thirty five years old.

"Maybe we should set them up!" I laughed

Reven

I smiled at that, rolling over enough to look down at her. "I like that idea." I never liked when that man was near my sister, and always asked to cut in as often as was politely possible. I would do it more, but Mother and Father didn't like us being impolite, so Izabelle always had to carefully turn him away. "We can just dance with each other, like always." It kept other people away, at least. You couldn't ask someone to dance that was already dancing.

Izabelle-

"That'd be nice" I agreed. "Maybe they'll fall in love, and live happily ever after with stink, long fingernailed children!" Though I would like to someday meet someone, no prince seemed to be the one. They were all dull and boring, and hated to go outside. I could never be stuck with someone like that.

Reven

I laughed and turned my face into Rallek's scaley back to try and stifle it. "Don't make me picture things I can't ever unimagine! I won't be able to keep a straight face around either of them, and then they'll think I'm smiling at them!"

Izabelle-

I giggled, "Oh no! How horrid of a fate!" At least he could wear decent clothing. I was stuck in a horrid pink, frilly thing. It was all ruffles and lace, causing me too look like some pink cloud. But Father loved it on me, so I wore it. Without too much complaining.

Reven

"It is!" I insisted, waving a hand blindly in her direction. "I don't want her to think I like her!" She was pretty and stuck-up, and she felt entitled to everything, especially the flock of young men that seemed to attract to her every time she stopped moving for more than a second or two at a time.

((gtg in about 25))

((Ahhhawww!))

Izabelle-

"Oh yes, Reven!" I mocked in her tone, "We must be off into the forests and make many young ones!" I was over come with giggles, just by picturing his face. Or Mother's! She couldn't stand the woman either!

((Yep. It's called work lol I must go to it))

Reven

I made a face and gagging sounds to go with it, since no one was around to hear. "Iz-zy!" I didn't need those mental images in my head! I shook my head back and forth to clear it. "Well. . . At least I'll be able to keep a straight face now." Ew.

((Work is evil!!))

Izabelle-

I grinned at him, "That's what I do!"

"Izzy?!" I heard Mother call, "Could you come here, please? We need to size you!"

Excitedly, I looked at Reven. Was I getting a non-horrid non-pink dress?

((Yep -_- ))

Reven

I blinked down at Izabelle, then just rolled off Rallek's back and brushed myself off a bit so I wouldn't be so dirt-covered anymore. "Let's go see what it is." Maybe it wasn't pink this time. She didn't like pink, even if it looked pretty on her.

Izabelle-

Mother grinned as we walked up, and puled me towards the room. I saw the dress then. Flowy and silver. Classic, but not gawdy. I squealed, for once acting like a girl, "I love it!" Nearby, was Reven's similar outfit. Black and silver,

Reven

"Oooo," I said softly, walking over to the suit waiting for me and tugging on a cuff. "We'll match!" That would be fun. We were paired in matching outfits sometimes because some people thought it was 'cute', but I liked it anyway. She was my sister, after all, and we were supposed to be at each other's sides like always, so it was good to color coordinate and let people know that. I wasn't going to let some sleazy old man come near her.

((He's so adorable!))

Izabelle-

The next night, I waited in the hall for Reven. We had to make our entrance soon. Mother hovered over me, fixing the little things and biting her lip. She was worried too, she didn't like balls, but it was her duty.

"Mother," I laughed, "I'm fine! Reven will make sure of that"

((Ooooooooo, what if the ball is all a set up, and the duchess is only a disguise for the evil queen Gabriella :3))

Reven-

I was a little late, because Uncle Favian wanted to do something to my hair and Father had argued. It was combed back nicely out of the way, but lacking the silver color Uncle Favian had wanted to add so that it would match my suit and Izabelle's dress. Finally, I made my way out to the hall where she and Mother waited, just outside the entrance we were supposed to come through, and I smiled for them. "You both look very pretty."

((Then Ewwwww xD ))

((But it would make it the perfect evil plan. That's why she keeps trying to get close to Reven))

Izabelle-

I blushed, grinning at him, "Thank you. Are you ready?" . As he stood next to me, the large oak doors opened up to see the waiting faces, the duchess in the very center. It was some sort of anniversary for her.
