"And yet you allow him to say such words without reprimand?" Cerys' anger softened a bit when she addressed the other man. He had yet to actually threaten her or make her angry. Besides, she liked the smell of fields, hay fields to be exact, that was rolling off of him. "If he says such words, I will respond in kind."

Cerys looked down and saw Jaeger. ".....and here's my loving ball and chain....come to drag me back.....great....."

"Well, we're hardly strangers now, are we?" He said with a grin. "The House Astora makes its residence in the land of Lordran, a rather far distance from here. And that..." his grin grew wider, "is all you get for now. After all, I know nothing of the house Naegger. It wouldn't be fair for the information to flow only one way." The grin, still growing wider, as he says, "Here, have this." handing her a small, white stone. "When you'd like to meet me again, just squeeze the stone while channeling a small portion of mana into it." Smile gradually fading, he gets into a runners stance, and says in farewell, "just dont do it now, I have heard of an interesting something, and i can't wait to see it" And springs into another run of dizzying speed.

There was a rush of wind through the hall as Jaeger disappeared from where he was. In an instant, he had flown up into the rafters, past the confrontation, and was now sitting on the far end of the hall. In the rafters. With Cerys caught in a tail that hadn't been there a few seconds before.

"My apologies for this intrusion. I'll be taking my leave with this troublemaker shortly."

He directed his words at the two in the rafters with him, ignoring the protests that came from behind in his tail's grip.

"Milady, I ain't got no excuse for the man behind me, but that don't make him any less my kin. I will not let you fight in this hall. Leave a message if you must. Arrange a meetin'. If you've gotta fight, you can damn well do it outside." He cleared his throat, and his voice softened. "Please don't judge us too harshly." Rudd turned so that he was addressing both of the intruders. "We ain't usually like this. Maybe we can talk again sometime, with a little less heat."

Ryrax's mouth curled into his usual unnerving smile, utterly ignoring Jyttera's abrupt entry. "Careful, little kitten. You should know what happens if you dance with a wolf," he purred. He slowly and deliberately licked his chops. He hadn't taken up any particular stance. Rather, he was sitting in mid-air, one leg resting on the knee of the other, and with his arms outstretched to either side with open palms, as if to say 'come if you dare'.

In truth he was completely and utterly bluffing, but nobody but him knew that.

Odom's face was the very image of bewildered sadness as the interesting man sped off. He looked at the stone in the Moon Child's hand, suddenly wishing that he had received one as well. It was not often that he had a chance to see something so interesting. Then again, someone interesting was still in his presence . . .

He turned to face the young lady. "Perhaps we can start again. I am called Odom."

Estelle gripped the stone and looked down at it. It was going to be interesting, it seemed, this time. "...well....what an interesting man....." Her eyes went back to study the other two. Odom was.....Odom. Aatron seemed interesting enough but not quite as interesting as the odd one. "You are Odom? Well, as you heard, I am Estelle."

----

Cerys twisted out of Jaeger's tail and stood up. "If I'm leaving, I'll leave on my own two feet, Jaeger. I'm not going to be dragged around like a rag doll because of your worrying." She glanced up at Rudd. "You, I don't mind speaking to. You have offered no insult and have been polite." Her eyes narrowed to mere slits when she looked at Ryrax. "He, however, has the manners of a beast, which is ironic coming from me. Wolves should remember that cats don't have to fight directly or fair. We'll beat you, it just may not be in a standard fight."

Sliding to a stop, through multiple doors, Jyterra finally appears in the main room, where the cat girl and ryrax were feuding. "Well, this is as interesting as I thought it would be." Blurring, he appears next to Cerys, "I have heard rumors of a family that possessed animal traits, but you exceed all by expectations by far" Probing, stroking her ears, he looks at them carefully, as he says,"Beautiful, such elegance..."

"Ha!" Ryrax laughed a bark-like laugh. "I welcome the challenge, kitten. I'll entertain you any time you want." He drifted down to the floor, striding out the door with a quick sneer at Jaeger. Hands in his pockets, he sauntered outside about a dozen steps, the cool night breeze playing with his hair. He turned to face Cerys once more. "Don't make an enemy of an ally, foolish girl," he said, surprisingly sagely and seriously. With that, he turned his back on the crowd, a hand raised to say 'goodbye' as he slowly faded into the cold dark night.

Jyterra's sudden appearance made Cerys freeze. The feeling of her ears being stroked by Jyterra....a yowl erupted from her as she quickly jumped behind Jaeger with a terrified look on her face. "....you...touched my ears....YOU TOUCHED MY EARS!?!?"

".....why?" Cerys was looking at him as if he had gone mad. "They are only ears, nothing to be that fascinated with honestly." Her tail twitched behind her and she sheathed her claws. This being was....odd. Most of the other families regarded her with eyes of confusion or hatred. They never looked at her in a friendly manner, much less with awe.

Jaeger let out a sigh. They were deep in the middle of enemy territory as far as he was concerned. He was not about to sit here and entertain the shenanigans of this odd man or Cerys.

"Cerys. I'm here under orders from the family head. We're going back."

"What are you talking about? These are more than just 'only ears'. They are a physical manifestation of identity, and i bet grant a superior sense of hearing at the least." He speaks passionately, "And they fit beautifully upon your head, as if the lack thereof would've been a gaping hole in the appearance of such a stunning visage"

Cerys' eyes widened. Was this feeling.....was she feeling flattered? Was he calling her ears beautiful? Suddenly, she was ready to leave since her cheeks were growing red. "...t-thank you...." Suddenly she was running out the door as fast as her clawed feet could take her. Insults she could handle with ease. Flattery? Forget it.

A very thin man completely clothed from head to toe, and even sporting a face cover strode from the Naejor house carrying two very large, almost encyclopedia sized texts. 'It just doesn't make sense,' Gerza thought to himself. 'The history behind the fell ones just does not fit. Beings from alternate dimensions do not just pick a random one to try and annihilate. There had to be a reason, a motive. Maybe something that we were doing? Potentially an artefact? A person? Could it have something to do with the Awakening? C'mon, think you worthless...' He sighed as his stride increased. "I need to blow off steam. Reading isn't going to help after I've been stuck for so long. The fields from the battle that happened should be clean, or at least cleaner. I guess I'll go there..." He muttered as he slipped the books into his rucksack and walked away from the rancorous sounds of the neutral grounds. He arrived shortly after and much to his chagrin, there were still a significant number of bodies strewn about. 'They just leave the fell ones where they fall. I understand that we are enemies, but a form of cleanliness should still be exercised.' He thought, critically judging the amount of dead. "Better now then never." He said quietly. He sat down on, taking out the books. Crossing his legs, he opened his mind to the calm and tranquility of the silence around him. Pebbles began to shift, and soon float slightly. It wasn't long before the earth beneath him lifted as well, carrying him and the books 40 feet up. "Much better." He sighed contentedly. Opening one of the books, he resumed his research while rocks orbited about his person, unaware to their presence as he dove deeper and deeper into his work.

Jaeger raised an eyebrow, but finally let out a sigh. Regardless of how, she was finally out trouble . . . or at least she was out of trouble with another clan. Her father would have words for her.

"I'll take my leave. Pardon the intrusion."

Jaeger spread his blood-red wings and flew out of the hall, quickly catching up to Cerys

"You know the head isn't happy right?"

--------------------------

Aatron decided to remove himself from the conversation before too much more happened. The morning would not come any later because he had been caught up in Odom's nonsense.

"Forgive me lady, but the hour grows late, and I must rise with the dawn tomorrow."

His head turned pointedly to Odom, his face instantly harder

"You would do well to make your decision before tomorrow comes Odom."

With that, he turned and started to head back to the Maveret lodgings, where he would await the coming day.

"His happiness be hanged!" Cerys growled out. "He keeps me inside so much, like I'm just a ticking time bomb waiting to explode. I like to get out and interact with others. This time, it was just a negative reaction because of the subject of the conversation. That...creature....makes me so angry." Her fists clenched as she hissed at the memory.

----

"Go rest." Estelle smiled at the back of the departing Aatron. "I still have much to do this night." Her eyes glanced up at the stars. Odom seemed to hear the forces around them speak. For her, she just felt it all around her, directing her path. "The Cosmos are beautiful tonight, aren't they?" A gleeful smile covered her face and she twirled around in a circle, making her long white robes swish as she spun.

"Oi, you didn't exactly make a good first impression, either," muttered Ryrax, who had suddenly appeared to Cerys' right, floating on his back. It was like he was lounging on air. "If you wanna talk to someone, don't get in their face while their trying to nap. Rude."

Jaeger pushed his way in between the two of them

"No. We are not having this discussion. Cerys, you're coming back with me to the clan head. And you--"

Jaeger turned his head to look at Ryrax

"You can go wherever as long as it's away from my sister."

Cerys glared at Jaeger. "If you start trying to order me around again....you're going to find me even more disagreeable. I'm not a pet to be put on a leash. I've been caged up long enough." She turned to Ryrax. "If I had heard good about you, I would have given you the benefit of a doubt. But, after hearing what Valera said.....I needed to check you out for myself...."

Blinking in surprise, he said, "Blast, i hadn't finished examining her ears, much less her tail." Shrugging, he said,"Well, might as well get something to eat." and left to search the building for food. After a few minutes, he sat down with a sandwich and began eating it. After finishing his repast of meats surrounded by bread, he left the building. Walking along a path, he contemplated his new idea, and about how he might enact it through his enchanting. Not aware of his surroundings, he walked into the arguing form of Ryrax. Startled out of his thoughts, he said, "Oh, Ryrax, this is where you got of to?"

Rudd dropped from the rafters with a huff. His head was spinning from all of the commotion, and he wasn't quite sure what to make of all of the previous events. As he slumped into a chair, confusion glazing over his visage, he felt a tap on his shoulder. Evynne was there with his violin, although whether or not she was the one he had handed it to he was not sure. Rudd was never terribly good at reading expressions, but he was fairly certain that her eyes were weighted with worry. "Are you ok?" she prodded.

Rudd thought for a moment. "I could use some wine."

Odom turned his gaze skywards once again. "The stars are always beautiful, each in their own way. I like to watch them dance. They like it when they are watched, I think. All dancers want an audience, after all."

Ryrax barely glanced at Jyttera to acknowledge his existence before returning his attention to Cerys, a devious grin curling his lips. "Check me out, eh? There are easier and more direct ways to do it than, say, sneaking into another family's party and causing a ruckus." He let his grin fall, a serious look in his eye. "I only actively bear my teeth at Fell Ones. If I bite anyone else, then they had to do something to earn it."

Estelle smiled. She herself had used that logic before. "That's why I come out here. I love to watch them dance and while they dance I get time to contemplate on things that have been done, things that are being done, and things that have not yet come to pass." She stared up into the stars, wondering if she would see one tonight. Sure enough, like clockwork, a shooting star flashed above her and it sent rippling sensations of glee through her body. Estelle couldn't help but laugh with the glee of the star as it traversed beautifully across the night sky.

----

Cerys circled Ryrax, like a wild animal inspecting a rival. "....I had to make sure that Valera would be safe. I do not take kindly to people within my own house being made to feel threatened by other beings. We have enough problems with the rest of you mana risers to begin with." Cerys involuntarily touched her right ear and sighed. It had always felt like if she had been born without her feline features, she would have been accepted among the others without question. Instead, her animal features made her an outsider.
