Ryrax looked up through the small hole in the ceiling and laughed. His hands sat in his pockets as he mentally caught the blade, the tip coming less than an inch from between his eyes. His typical wild smile had returned as he directed his weapon to its sheath. "Come and join the festivities, Jaeger!" He shouted to the man above him, projecting his voice over the music. "I understand you're the kitten's babysitter, but why stalk the kitty from the sky when you could just come down and dance with her!?"

"....kitten...." Cerys glared at Ryrax. "...you know what?" Her hand reached out and grabbed Ryrax, pulling him into the dancing. Suddenly, he was the one twirling Estelle and Cerys was making a bee line for the ale.

Estelle's eyes widened as her partners suddenly changed. "...ummmm.....that....was.....sudden....I'm sorry that she did that....she's so....impetuous....." She had never danced with any man before besides her brothers and father. And even then it was only on her birthday.

"Well, that wasn't very nice. Ryrax hasnt done anything to you" Jyterra jests, holding a pint of ale himself. "So why, may i ask, did the healer need to get thrown in the deep end?" He saw her pull her shenanigans, and figured it was a convenient time for some refreshments.

Gerza had finally finished the burying of the fell ones and had returned to the Neutral Grounds to continue his studying. Nose buried deep in a book, he managed to accidentally walk right into the commotion of the rather packed Vejta hall and didn't bother to look up until he had subconsciously woven his way past most of the dancing. Now, in an unfamiliar place surrounded by unfamiliar people, he did the one thing that anyone who was barely more than skin and bones would do, be small as possible, and get out. "Move left, down, right, strafe around that group..." his fight or flight had kicked in and his tactical mind had taken over. "Sidle here, dodge them, an-" His motions were suddenly interrupted by a beast of a man dancing with the eldest daughter of the Naejor who moved suddenly right in front of him. His eyes became dinner plates as he tried to scurry away and come up with a new plan.

"Eh, that isn't the deep end." Cerys smiled. "That would be throwing her at Rudd." She chuckled and took the pint, chugging it down quickly. Now THAT would be a sight to see. Estelle didn't understand what attraction was but it was pretty easy to be attracted to Rudd. It was a good thing that the country bumpkin appeared to be completely oblivious.

Ryrax shrugged. He offered an uncharacteristically kind grin. "Not necessarily a bad thing, to be honest." he went with the flow, dancing around the hall with Estelle. "You seem tense," he said to break the nervous silence she was carrying. "I hope you aren't about to tell me you've never danced with a man before. Not with how naturally you do it." He suddenly lowered her into a dip, nearly leaning her to the floor. His face was inches from hers as his pale blue eye bored into hers. "Loosen up. Have fun."

*whistle* "I will say, he does dance well." Downing his ale, he drops the empty pint, and turns to Cerys, "Now,"offering his hand, "would the lady honor me with a dance?"

Estellle was shaking. ".....I...actually...haven't danced with any male that wasn't family before." Her eyes showed a great deal of fear as she tried to compose herself. "I....don't really get out much...."

----

Cerys was on her third pint by now and was the one who was loosening up. "Nah. The ale is all I need right now before I get dragged back home." Cerys watched the violin player for a moment. "I wonder if violin boy up there can do anything except play?" She leaned over to Jyterra in order to whisper with a mischievous grin. "I'd love to see Estelle have to dance with him. She gets out so rarely; she doesn't even realize that she's attracted to him! Ain't that a hoot?"

"I see," Ryrax said. He rose himself and her out of the dip and resumed the dance. "I can't imagine why. I'm sure your quite popular with the men," he chuckled. "You should get out and about more! There's so much entertainment to be had, even if its just by observing. Also it helps when you can do things like this:"

He led her atop an empty table, and as they danced on it the table rose into the air, until they were slowly revolving above the head of the crowd below them. Ryrax laughed. "Now THIS is fun!" he said. Usually he didn't enjoy dancing, but at least this way he could spice it up a bit.

Estelle's eyes widened but suddenly she found herself laughing. "Is this....safe?" The man knew how to make things interesting, that much she would give him. Lovely music, fun dancing, and an interesting partner? Nothing seemed like it could go wrong tonight.

----

Cerys saw the table go up and saw Estelle still dancing with Ryrax. Her mirth was unmatched at the seventh pint hit her lips. It was then that she noticed a Naejor lurking in the midst of the others. "...Gerza Naejor...?" Her words were slightly slurred. "What...in the bloody hells...are you doing here?"

"Muahahaha! Not at all!" Ryrax replied merrily. "I find that danger sometimes enhances the fun!" He twirled her deftly and now he had her at the edge of the table, with himself standing on thin air. "Not that you're in any danger," he chuckled. "Believe it or not, I'm rather good at not falling, and not letting others fall as well." The table rose higher, and was slowly drifting towards where Rudd stood, fiddling away.

Gerza peaked over an empty table that had been moved for dancing and noticed a break in the crowd as the larger man from earlier began to levitate a table with Estelle toward the one playing the fiddle. 'Oh, oh my. That can't be...oh dear.' He thought to himself as he tried to formulate a plan now not only to get himself out, but also to hopefully get her out safely as well. 'At least Cerys isn-' He turned his attention back towards the front, just in time to notice an inebriated cat-woman staring right at him. 'And of course she is.' He sighed. 'However I'm going to do this, I need to get myself out of the crowd before I hurt myself...or maybe that's exactly what I'm going to do.' He took a deep breath, said a short prayer, and waded into the pulsing crowd, knowing full well the danger he was putting himself into.

"This....is exhilarating!" Estelle was feeling much freer now. "Is this what it's like to let go? It's such an alien feeling but I think I like it!" She didn't even notice which way the table was going. Never in her life had she felt like this and she didn't want it to ever end.

----

Cerys saw the man trying to get through the crowd and put two-and-two together. Even in her state, she could make a few logical decisions, such as her net one. Suddenly, Gerza found himself being thrown over Cerys' shoulder and being carried above the crowd by jumping through rafters.

Gerza's first response was to brace for the imminent pain to rack his body, but that somehow never came. Even while being surprised by Cerys could have in and upon itself done the trick, he found himself feeling only the discomfort of moving upwards, and for lack of better term, being nothing more than a sack of meat and bones. Of course, being this high up gave many more chances for a far more serious injury, which he had hoped it wouldn't come to, but he would bide his time until the moment was perfect.
"Wait, wait!' Gerza interjected The book I had! It's from the Naejor library, and is the only tome on Fell history that we have! It'll be my head if I lose it!

"I had a feeling you would," Ryrax smirked. Then the current song reached its end and Ryrax bowed to his partner deeply. Before Rudd could start another song, Ryrax whistled for his attention. When the young man turned to him, Ryrax had that devious look in his eye. "Tag out, kiddo," he said as the table tilted and send Estelle sliding off and into Rudd, who managed to hand off the fiddle and catch her. "I warmed her up for ya." Ryrax threw his head back and laughed as he let the table fly back to its original position. He gestured for everyone else with instruments to strike up another song, and once they got the message he winked at Rudd and Estelle. He drifted back into his usual perch in the rafters, where he sat with his legs hanging over the edge. "Have fun you two," he muttered to himself and chuckled. He hadn't yet noticed Cerys and Gerza's escapades.

"Um. Uh. I, well, *ahem*. Hi." Rudd felt his cheeks flushing as he stabilized the young woman resting in his arms. "I, ah, I've only ever really done line dancing, so . . . that is . . . well, what I mean to say is, shall we dance?"

-----

"You've an eye for humor, lupus." Ryrax was surprised to see Odom standing on the same rafter as he was--on the underside. Up-side down. He had a look of utter glee on his face as he watched the partner-swapping ensue.

".....s-sure....." Estelle was stuttering again, blushing as well. She racked her brain for line dancing and got an image of it. It was then that she was aware of the stare of several females in the room. And the stare didn't appear to be friendly, like she'd stepped over some line. "....umm...did I do something wrong? Some of these girls....look like they want me dead."

----

Cerys sighed and jumped back down into the ground, gingerly setting him down. "Find your damned book. I want another ale-" It seemed faster to travel via rafters so she jumped up into the rafters only to run face-first into Ryrax. "Oh! Ryrax! Top of the midnight to you!"

Rudd looked around, but whenever he caught the eyes of a maiden, they just beamed at him. "Really? Maybe it's the ale, but I don't see it. Don't sweat it. Just move your feet! One, two!" He began kicking the air with abandon, forgetting his embarrassment in the face of fun. He spun in circles with her, nimbly tip-toing the edge of the table each time he passed it.

Rryax, after a moment's confusion, glanced under him to see the oddball who had spoken. "Hah! I think you're the only one who sees that," he said with an amused smirk. He groaned internally as he watched Rudd attempt conversation with the opposite gender. Then he heard Estelle's even more nervous response. He cupped a hand to his mouth and shouted, "That's because they DO!" and laughed deeply. The women that had been glaring at Estelle snapped their heads in unison at Ryrax, aiming their many angry gazes at him now.

Ryrax didn't have a chance to return their glares in kind because a certain feline-accented young woman had effectively bowled him over. Honestly she'd tackled him and currently had him pinned. Rryax's expression showed fear for a moment but he managed to stow it away. Now that he'd dealt with Cerys as a person a bit, getting past her cat features wasn't too bad. "Ah. Same to you, Cerys," he said a little quieter than usual. ".........Comfy?" he asked with a raised eyebrow.

Left alone in the corner of the room, Jyterra did the only thing that he could. He drank. And drank more. "Oh ale, you never fail to support me when I'm abandoned!" Taking another drink, he hugged a small barrel of wine to his chest as he sat in the corner. "Who needs a House anyway, everyone just complained about explosions, day in and day out." Drink "And friends, friends wouldn't just kick a friend out. Naw," Drink "All I need is you ale." quickly, he looks at the barrel of wine, and consoles it, "And you, wine. cant forget about you" Drink.

Odom looked down at the ceiling again to find that his companion had disappeared. "Hm. Interesting." He walked around the rafter until his hair once again sat properly upon his head, and found the wolf man lying precariously in the air beneath the cat woman. "Yet more interesting."

Estelle then realized that she was burning up wearing her white over-robes. She muttered something out of earshot and suddenly little ribbons of light helped her remove the robe to reveal a long, white silken dress beneath. It was like a much less fluffy princess gown since it still allowed her a lot of movement.

Cerys happened to glance down when that happened and she just had to comment. "Estelle! I told you to dress nice but geez, you're putting me to shame! That boy had better understand how lucky he is to be dancing with the most beautiful girl in the room!"

These comments had many reactions. The men in the room seemed entranced by Estelle. The women looked ready to grab her, tear her to shreds, and hide the evidence. Cerys, however, didn't notice because she had just found a warm pillow. "Yes, you're comfy. I like this." With that, she curled up cat-style on her side with her head on his chest and literally purred contentedly.

Rudd heard nothing. He was dancing, clapping, laughing and singing along. He took Estelle's hands and spun her in a circle, and then they kicked to each other's sides. He did not see the murderous glances or jealous stares; it didn't even occur to him the Evynne might not like this. After all, dancing was dancing, and what better way was there to get to know someone? "You're not bad, Estelle, was it? Where'd you learn to dance like that?" He howled his question over the din.

Gerza picked up the book, right where he had left it, and cursed his luck. 'With Cerys around, I won't be able to get Estelle out of trouble she might cause...again.' He sighed. 'It always seemed like trouble followed her with a capital t whenever she went about.' He shook his head at the thought. 'I guess I'll just stay out of the way and see if I can find anything else about the Fell Ones while I'm here.' He flipped open the book and looked around a bit. "There has to be a quieter place around here somewh-" His mumbling was interrupted by the display that Estelle put on. 'So much for studying and watching occasionally...' He closed the book quickly, and sat down off to the side, keeping eye contact with the crowd, and anyone who would try anything.

Ryrax didn't know what was worse: the fact that this cat-girl had declared him a suitable bed...or the fact that despite his dislike of felines, he couldn't help but think Cerys was rather cute when she was happy like this. Another day, another person, he would have violently flung them off and stormed off into the night. Yet, for some reason, here he was acting uncharacteristically subservient. Part of it was his tendency to lose his strength when he felt threatened by a kitty, but seriously...this was ridiculous! Why couldn't he just shove her off already?!

He tried to distract himself by looking to Rudd and Estelle's dance. They were both perfectly in sync. He grinned in spite of himself. Though he was a little jealous of how easily Rudd tended to the sheep, he also had to admire that ability.

He looked down his chest to Cerys again. "...Ya know, I was kidding when I asked..." he muttered.
