Realistic or Modern Flight 2466: Plane Crash

Rae was sitting peacefully, enjoying the fiery ballet, when she heard someone, a female, call out.

"Help, HELP!"

She looked around for the person that belonged to the voice, noticing a commotion down by the water.

There was a girl down there who appeared to be splashing water onto another girl.

It seemed like one of the girls was unconscious, and she wondered if she should go help.

Why not? All I have wanted to do since we crashed here was help out in some way.

She rose to her feet and made her way carefully over to where the two girls were, taking care to step lightly on her injured leg.

It seemed that the water had done the trick, as the girl who was lying in the sand was coming to.

"Um, hello there.. I believe I am fine now, thank you for helping me," the injured girl said to the one who had come to her aid.

Rae spoke up then, "Is everything okay? I heard you call out for help....?" she said, addressing the girl who must have been the one who had called for help.

She looked over at the other girl lying there; she appeared to be anything but okay. He face was pale and she was sweating; she seemed to be in a lot of pain, and was hanging on to what looked like a very poorly constructed makeshift pair of crutches. She also had a pretty sever wound on her leg; between the wound and the horrible crutches it was no wonder she had fallen.

The injured girl looked like she badly needed medical attention.

Rae knelt beside her and asked, "May I take a look?" gesturing towards the wound on her leg.

@Carmen Vehemente @Annabella

It would appear that they had an audience and May looked upwards at the other girl who had appeared within her peripheral vision, smiling meekly at the offer of help. "Ah, I believe it needs medical attention and thank you once more for assisting me..I should have asked Avery to take a look at the injury but I was too busy with other things." She winced as a sudden spell of dizziness briefly graced her entire being, her head dropping to the sand. This was going to be difficult.

Rae nodded as the girl explained herself.

"I'm Rae," she said. "I'm not a doctor, but I am a veterinary assistant and I am familiar with caring for wounds on animals; it's much the same with people. "

She unwrapped the dressing that currently covered the injury; it was saturated with blood and needed changing.

The wound was large, and open, and the girl appeared to be losing a lot of blood.

"What's your name?" she asked the injured girl, as she took over cleaning out the wound with the salt water from the ocean.

As she went about cleaning the wound she continued to speak, not only to let the girl know what she was doing, but to keep her mind off of any pain that she might be experiencing.

"You know, a lot of people think salt water is bad for wounds, but that's actually not true. It is very good for the healing process, and can help with pain, swelling, and infection."

As she spoke she worked, taking care to make sure the wound was clean as she inspected it. It didn't look infected yet, but it looked angry, and unless properly and regularly tended to it would become infected soon.

"I once had to take care of a puppy with a hurt leg, a lot like yours, and he was chasing cars in no time," she told her reassuringly.

She smiled at the girl, as she ripped a large piece off of her own vest to make a clean bandage.

Rae slid the makeshift bandage under the girl's leg, directly below where the wound was, and prepared to redress it.

"In the office, a lot of times the vet will have me clean injuries, and he always has me use saline, which is basically salt water. It would be better if we could boil it, of course, but it won't do any harm as it is, and it's better than just leaving it dirty. Now this might hurt a bit."

She looked at the other girl, still crouched near them.

"You might want to hold her hand," she told her.

Then Rae tied the bandage once, loosely, just to the skin, so that she would be able to maneuver it with one hand. She then used her fingertips to pinch the wound together as tightly as she could as she tightened the bandage; using her free hand for one end of the bandage and her mouth for the other, so that the wound would stay together and hopefully heal properly.

"I'm so sorry," she told the girl. "I know this hurts, but you need stitches and I don't have any way to stitch this closed, so I have to make this as tight as possible."

She tightened it a bit more, with both hands this time, and tied the bandage again; making sure that it would stay put and saying, "You should probably have someone do that a few times a day, to keep it from getting infected. If we manage to find something to use for stitches I will be glad to do that for you as well."

She smiled again, hoping the girl didn't hate her for causing her so much pain, but it was the only way. Rae didn't want her to lose her leg, or worse.

"Now you need to eat something, or even better, drink some water. Has anyone found anything yet?" she asked the both of them.

Toby bit his lip as Yarrow seemed to be a lot more open about flirting with him. He didn't even know what he was doing. He let out a soft sigh as he began to walk, surprised as the people crowded around a tree that seemed to have a survivor inside. Toby glanced at the boy again, his eyebrow perking up lightly as he heard that he wanted to go search water with him...alone. He was already beginning to think about how incredibly awkward that would be when the survivor asked if his supposed lover could catch him. Toby was quite hurt that he didn't ask himself, although Yarrow did indeed have a very...dashing...figure...

Toby shook his head as he felt himself staring. Once the survivor was helped, he offered a shy smile to Yarrow as he nodded slowly.
"Let's go."

May listened intently to the girl's explanation concerning her wounds as well as her time within the Veterinary field. She was slightly in awe by Rae's ability to dissuade someone from the pain of their injuries by conversing with them on certain subject matter however it didn't mean May didn't feel it at all. She grimaced at the sudden increase in pressure towards her leg and nodded obediently ad Rae warned her of the incoming pain, grasping the other girl's hand for some form of support before clenching her teeth at the stabbing ache which slithered throughout her leg. That had certainly been painful but May was thankful that she had finally been able to receive medical attention, shifting upwards in order to face the two fully before watching the process. "I am May, a pleasure to meet you Rae and I must say, for a veterinarian you are highly skilled at working diligently.. I am glad you were able to help and as for the question of food and water, it was what I happened to be looking for when I left my group but my wound got the best of me.

@Carmen Vehemente

@Auralunabella

Flannery sighed. He was right. She needed help, and he was the only soul she'd seen so far on this God forsaken island. "I don't think I can stand." she replied. "My leg, it's locked. I tried to walk earlier, and slammed right into the sand." She brushed the sand off of her legs as she said so.

Sure the guy had a point, but she still didn't trust him. She didn't even know his name. How can you trust someone when you don't even know their name? a flood of questions came rushing out of her mouth "Who are you? Are there others? Do you have any food or water? How long have you been here? Why did the plane crash?" She paused to catch her breath, and let out a cry as her head gave another sharp pulse of pain. "Fuck!" she cried.

@Lex Halycor

"Oh well I'm not a vet yet," Rae told her. "But I am still going to school, and working hard, and hopefully one day I will be a veterinary surgeon."

Rae beamed proudly at voicing her dream. She didn't do that very often.

"May is a pretty name. It rhymes with mine! Actually, my name is Jessica, but my middle name is Rae and I prefer that. It's nice to meet you, aside from the circumstances of course."

Rae considered her work, looking over the fresh bandage, thinking it would probably hold until it need to be cleaned again.

She wondered what had happened to the rest of the May's group, and why they had left her in the state that she was in.

"So you say you were with a group?" she asked her. "Well, where are they? And why did they leave you alone? Someone should have taken better care of you," Rae stated disapprovingly.

"Did you manage to find any fresh water? Because you, and the others I'm sure, will be needing it. Even more than food, for now. But it's getting darker, and I am worried that no one is back yet."

She looked around, remembering the fire.

"Are you cold? I can help you over to the fire if you would like. I'm sure that when the others return that's where they will meet, and perhaps someone will have some food or water for you."

She wasn't worried about herself so much, she was okay for now, but this girl definitely needed to get something into her body. It would help fight the infection, and restore her strength.

"I wouldn't bother with those crutches though. They aren't gonna be good for much more than firewood, and we could eat the seaweed. Did you know that seaweed is considered a superfood? It's super good for you, and if we could gather enough it could sustain us for a while. It's not tasty, unless cooked, but it will help us survive."

She stood, stretching; her leg was beginning to bother her, being crouched as she was, and her shoulder was starting to ache as well. It was all tolerable, though, and this girl needed help more than she did.

@Annabella

"Oh thanks" Gwen said with a smile as she took the packet of pretzels. Jordan was correct that they would be crumbled but Gwen didn't mind. She hasn't had anything to eat in a while. She took some crumbs but made sure not a lot so the others could have some also. "Here you guys go. Make sure to leave some for Yarrow and Toby" she said, looking towards everyone else and handing the packet of pretzels out. "It's not much but it's something" she shrugged. She looked at Jordan and thanked him again before she ate the pretzels.

Rae certainly was knowledgeable on surviving in a place like this which was comforting to say the least, May struggled to take in all of the questions which were being rapidly asked before answering. "I suppose it was my own fault that I strayed away from the group, the others were more busy scavenging and I had no one to accompany but I figured I would be fine..this is all due to my own stubborn nature." It was true, May was troubled by all the help she had been receiving and wished to do things to supply for the others which, in hindsight, would've been more fruitful had she been accompanied with another. She perked up at the mention of a fire before nodding excitedly. "It would certainly be nice if you were to take me there where I can no longer bother you."

@Carmen Vehemente

Avery smiled at Gwen as she passed the pretzels over. Her fingers hungrily dug for the closest one and quickly put it in her mouth, her teeth chewing it immediately. However, the salt from the pretzels were increasing her need for water as she felt herself getting more and more thirsty. "We need some water asap," she said, handing the pretzels over to the next person so that they could all have some. Her piercing hazel eyes glanced around her surroundings, hoping for a clue to water.

As if on cue, she heard the slight trickling sound of a creek and her attention instantly directed to the direction of the sound. "Guys, over here," she said excitedly as she quickly made her way through the trees. Soon enough, Avery was greeted with the magnificent view of a thin creek winding around the forest floor. She instantly rushed forwards and knelt next to the creek bank, using her hands as a cup to drink the water.

Yarrow smiled back at Toby and walked over to him.

"Sorry. Im all yours." he smiled sweetly. Then he heard someone yelling that she had found water.

"Oh I guess the waters over here... come on." he said grabbing Tobys hand and lightly pulling him to the river.

He smiled widey to see the water, happy that they had found it but he was a little upset he didn't get to spend alot of time with Toby.

"Toby do you maybe want to go with me to find some food...? Like in the forrest?" he asked, blushing and smiling at the boy.

@Delax

She kept the girl laying down "No your not! You just passed out in front of me!" she exclaimed "You are staying here" the piece of metal glinted in her eyes. She eyed it then gripped onto it "It won't hurt a bit' she said softly as she pulled it out, ripping a sleeve off then wrapping it around her leg "All better now' she smirked, dusting her hands off. "Do you need help getting up?" she asked @Annabella

Gwen started to look around too but then her head perked up when Avery called them over. She followed after the blonde girl and smiled once she saw the river, finally relieved that they had a source of fresh water. "Thank God" she mumbled to herself as she knelt down and did the same as Avery did, using her hands to drink the water. She let out a sigh of relief as she swallowed the cool water.

"My name is Randall, Randall Peterson. I was sitting towards the back of the plane when it went down. I should be dead," he responded to her, trying to chuckle but not getting it all the way out. He recalled the engines as they screamed during the plane's descent, like banshees signaling impending doom, and the horribly strewn row of seats he was on. A mechanical failure? There was no way to know how it happened. He couldn't make sense of it. But he couldn't afford to think about any of that anymore. He concentrated on figuring a way out of this situation.

The wreck sat in flames. The beach was once occupied but now abandoned. He hadn't been carrying any food in his belongings. "I was going to call for help from the people on the beach, but I blacked out. Maybe they went into the forest. We don't know if they're dead or alive, but there's nothing for us out here. We have no choice but to look anyways." Randall hated to think what kind of predators or even residents might exist beyond the trees. He figured if they went in and were killed, well their chance of survival was 0 anyways. It didn't comfort him in the slightest.

"I don't know what happened to the plane, but I have nothing. If your other leg is alright, I can help you walk. But the sooner we start moving the better. You ready?" he finished, hoping she would be satisfied with his answers to all her questions.

@FateofHearts

Jordan followed behind the group, sighing in relief as he heard the relaxing sound of a rushing stream. Jordan was glad to have helped the group, somewhat with satisfying the hunger.

"Too bad they were just mini pretzels," he mumbled.

Jordan fell to his knees at the creek bank, sliding his jacket off and then taking his shirt off with ease, and tossing it to the side. Dirt covered his torso and face, which Jordan didn't like, but would probably get use to it. Jordan had no serious injuries, but had a small bruise forming at his collar bone and had a few scratches covering his hands, and neck. He must of gotten them when he hit the trees, the branches slicing his cheek and limbs, stopping his fall.

Jordan put his hands together, forming a small bowl, scooping water into his hands before taking a sip. He felt the cool rush of the water going down his throat. Jordan repeated this and washed his face and torso. Jordan combed his hair to the side with his fingers, styling it neatly before flicking the water off his hands and drying them on his jeans.

"I don't think we should drink to much of the water, it still is unclean but drinkable. We should boil it first when we get the chance." Jordan said, notifying them.

Jordan didn't have a problem being shirtless with them, he wasn't narcissistic or anything but he definitely isn't self conscious.

Jordan leaned back, propping himself up with his arms behind him, bending his right leg to the left, underneath the left leg which was facing straight ahead, Jordan liked sitting this way, it reminded him of being a kid.

Luke got up quickly, getting dressed. He left his shirt off, to cover Chanel's nude body. Luke had a sudden feeling of masculinity and would do anything just to protect his girl. Lucas smiled at her one last time, kissing her forehead before standing up again.

Luke ran into the direction of the plane. He saw a couple of survivors talking but he was looking for Avery. He had to tell her about finding a steady supply of consumables. Luke got the directions of where she and a couple other people went like Yarrow, Toby, Gwen and some other people. Luke thanked them and took off in that direction, hoping not to get lost.

@Semblance @The Awakened Moon @Zatanna @CreativelyPerfect @Anyone Else In The Group

"Well shit." she replied. She now wished she didn't hear the story. However, maybe if she went with this Randall guy, she could find her friend, if she was even alive. Her head told her that Layla died, and was a part of the corpse party on the beach near the wreck. However, her heart told her that Layla was indeed alive, somewhere, on this island. She sat there, debating on which part of her to trust. If Layla was dead, she'd have lost one of her only friends. But she could still be alive. If she was, boy was she in for something!

And then came the search. Where would she look for her? Should she search the wreck, or head for the forest? Flannery still considered searching the corpses for her friend first.

After what must have been an eternity, she went with her heart, reaching out a hand to Randall. "My name's Flannery, by the way. Flannery Von Haler. You can call me Flare for short."

@Lex Halycor

Gwen nodded her head as she listened to Jordan. She thought that he was pretty smart and sensible and it was good to have another person like that alongside Avery. To Gwen, they were both leadership material. She stood up and dried her hands on her shorts before looking over at Jordan, noticing that he was actually topless at the moment. She spotted a bruise at his collar bone then walked closer towards him. "Hey, are you okay?" she asked curiously. "You have a bruise right here." She pointed to her own collar bone where Jordan's bruise was forming.

@Xx Cosmic Storm xX

Jordan was thinking about how the group could benefit from making camp by the stream but as Jordan eyed the surrounding areas, it looked as if there was no natural shelter. They'd have to find another place, just as good as this place, but it was getting dark and by the looks of it. The group couldn't spend much more time looking around.

Jordan bit his lip, chewing it slightly, thinking over his options. He was about to say something about what he thought for shelter when the girl who had helped cut him from the tree, spoke up.

"Hey, are you okay?" she asked curiously. "You have a bruise right here." She pointed to her own collar bone where his bruise was forming.

Jordan looked where she was pointing and looked down, trying to see what she was speaking about. Which was difficult since it was physically impossible for him.

"Really?" Jordan said surprised, I must of gotten it when the parachute came out and lifted me up to quickly." Jordan said scratching his chin, where a small stubble traced his chin and over his top lip, making him look like a college boy. "I'll be alright though."Jordan told her. "Thanks for the concern."Jordan quickly added.

"You have some dirt on your nose." Jordan teased, laughing a little.

She was shorter than he was with dark brown eyes. She had nice light blonde hair with a uniquely beautiful face. She also had a couple tattoos. Jordan didn't mind tattoos, but he preferred not to have them. But he had to admit they were kind of cool, which made Jordan smile.

Jordan was trying to connect with his fellow survivor but was worried that it was actually too dark for them to have this casual conversation without having proper shelter. Jordan eased up on making to much conversation. Jordan glanced at the girl who had first spotted him. She had long sandy blonde hair and an attractive face. Jordan wondered if she was a new specie of girl who took good care of herself with makeup and visits to the salon but also was levelheaded and smart,which made Jordan shake his head, laughing internally at the facetious joke he made.

Gwen rubbed her nose with her fingers, trying to get the dirt off quickly. She wondered how long it had been on her nose. "Oh...um thanks" she mumbled. She groaned inwardly as she noticed it was getting darker and she turned towards everyone else. "Guys, maybe we should start getting back to the other survivors. It's getting dark and I don't think we'll be able to find our way out of here easily when it does." Gwen walked over to the river again and kneeled down to dip her fingers in the water. She rubbed her nose once again, making sure the dirt came off.

"Bother me? Don't be silly," she told May. "I'm happy to help. When I woke up someone did the same for me. We all have to help each other, or we won't make it."

Rae got behind the May and put her arms under the girl's shoulders, helping her to her feet. Once she was up, she maneuvered to May's right side, wanting to give her support where her injured leg was. She put May's arm around her own shoulders, and wrapped her arm around May's waist, so that she would be able to help her to the fire.

It was a short trip, and it took less time than expected to reach the blaze. There was still no one there, so she helped May get comfortable and sat down beside her.

"How is your leg feeling?" she asked her. "I know it still hurts, but hopefully the pressure helps a bit."

Toby blushed slightly at Yarrow's hands intertwining with his. He bit his lip as he saw the water, leaning down and washing down the dirt that had traveled onto his arms and face. He plastered down his hair again, looking at Yarrow again. "Uh, sure." He said, a shy smile planting his lips. He smiled, glancing up at the sky. "It is getting pretty dark though..." Toby said, trailing off. "Best not to get lost in the forest." He said, flashing a smirk at the other boy.

Yarrow bit his bottom lip smirking.

"We wont be out that late. Come on." He said grabbing his hand again.

"We'll be back." Yarrow called out to the rest of the group smiling.

"So Toby... Tell me more about you. Where are you from?" he asked, not letting go of his hand.

Chanel yawned rolling over. She grabbed her bra and panties and put them on. She grabbed her stuff and put it by a rock, going back to the group.

"So what did I miss?" she asked , rubbing her eyes. She didn't care at all if she was in her lingerie.

@Delax @anyoneelse

"Nice to meet you Flannery," Randall said calmly, taking her hand. "Let me help you up."

He grunted, struggling with all his might as he got on his two feet again, pulling Flannery up with him. He tried his best to keep most of the weight on his side, as far from her injured leg as possible. But he was so weak, he could hardly walk properly as it is. Moving her arm over his shoulders and positioning his across her back, he took a few steps forward into the beachead, towards the forest lining. He kept his head as far away from Flare as possible, trying to spare her from having to stare at his head wound, surprisingly enough all he could think about was how bad hers must be. He hadn't seen anything that bad, although in essence it was like looking into a mirror. His leg muscles burned like nothing he had ever felt before, but he wasn't about to quit easily. Not on Flannery, or himself. You can do this, he encouraged himself internally. Just one step at a time, you'll both get through it. As long as I don't black out again...

They were just about to head into the dense forest when Randall spotted a small light, in the distance. He had not seen this light before, it swung around the beach, seemingly at the edge of his vision. "I think I see something," he muttered to Flare as he turned to take a closer look. A light shining in the dead of night. A tiny wisp of smoke. And tiny moving figures.

A campfire. With Survivors.

"Survivors!" Randall exclaimed, instantly moving himself and Flannery toward the source. "HEY!!!" he shouted into the distance, waving his arm frantically in the air, trying to get their attention. This made it even more difficult for him to move, but he tried his hardest. They were getting a little closer now, hopefully one of them would eventually see them, if not hear his voice.

Toby smiled at Yarrow, nodding his head as he gave in. He cupped some water in his hand, bringing it up to his mouth and drank it. He felt the water pour down his throat, refreshing it extremely. He smirked as Yarrow took his hand again, guiding him into the forest. He began to walk, a little uncomfortable about the boy still holding his hand. "Uh, well, I was born in America. I was coming to Sydney too go and study in the university." He said, glancing at his face. "You?"

Yarrow smiled looking over at Toby.

"Im from the US too. I was coming to Sydney to model and do photography..." he smiled looking down.

"So tell me the fun stuff... Whats your favorite color? How old are you? Whats your sexuality? What do you like to do when you're by yourself? Are you single? Stuff like that." he said calmly.

He tried to just slip the sexuality and the single comment in without causing so much suspicion.

Yarrow looked infront of them, nothing so far.
