“From the amount of guns in that basket I should say I’m getting in less trouble than you, my dear lawyer. I got in about two last night. Been sticking to the straight and narrow— I wouldn’t want to tarnish the good name of the fixers. I’ll do my best not to be a bother anymore.” Behind Zuki’s playful tone she felt her stomach twist up again in a knot. Akari, Crow and Candy were all on the case looking for card members. How long before Akari found out about the heart cards she left behind? …how long before Daisuke found out? The thought physically made her ill, something that had happened often this week. It explained the sleepless nights and the dark sunglasses to hide her tired eyes.
Growing a conscious sucked, Zuki had been a cold hearted ruthless killer for most of her life here in the city. “Gotta head out, I have an early meeting.” Like most days this week she found herself losing her appetite. Zuki had to check in on the other queens of the gang and she was going to see if she could figure out anything about the higher ranks; everyone knew their respective ranks but only the aces and kings knew names and faces of the whole organization. They communicated but it was always a call or text. There had to be a way to either clean up the gang or get out, though neither option was an easy task. Zuki didn’t want to endanger the Fixers, if she died that was fine but the others didn’t need mixed up in her mess.
As she hopped down from the counter she handed Daisuke the unopened granola bar and water before straightening his tie. “Good luck today champ, and good luck on everyone’s endeavors of the day.” Zuki paused for a moment to smirk at Akari extorting money from Crow. “Akari the money is clean, you should just accept it. But this is entertaining. Thanks for the laugh.” And just like that Zuki was headed downstairs towards the garage.
