Fandom Final Fantasy X: Sin Reborn

Narrator: Relaxing in their quarters Yuna approached Blackheart. "Blackheart...I know we've just met. But I want to ask you to join us, at least until we are able to restore Djose temple. Not only did you help us recover from our crash, you've demonstrated skill in battle. We could use your aid in this fight" Yuna asked with a sternness in her voice.
"Anything to avenge my Ronso brethren..." Blackheart accepted Yuna's offer. He'd do anything to get his share of revenge on the guado. How he did so didn't matter to him. However, he had to refrain from attacking Rauthius in order to keep himself on Yuna's good side. He did adopt the Ronso Customs at a fairly young age, which is why he behaves much like one.

Rauthius: Rauthius approached the mysterious Blackheart. "What brings you to Djose Blackheart of the Ronso Tribe?" Rauthius asked inquisitively.

Blackheart turned over to Rauthius. He kept calm as usual. "Every year, I embark on a pilgramage of my own to pray to the High Summoners in each temple. Starting in Bevelle, I journey to Besaid. A different Summoner each year. This year, I pray to Lord Braska."

Rauthius: "I see..." Rauthius said suspiciously. "A human raised by Ronso...how curious. I too was removed from my native homeland in Guadosalam. At the age of seven, I was visited by my order, and offered an apprenticeship to study black magic under the sands of Bikanel. I haven't returned since..." Rauthius began to reminisce over the vague memories he had of Guadosalam; it had been so long. It occurred to him that his knowledge of Guado culture was remarkably limited. "It's a pleasure to meet you Blackheart" Rauthius said hesitantly with a small bow. He suspected Blackheart was uneasy with their conversation and returned to his designated cot where he pulled out his sketchpad and began to draw an outline of the encampment.

Narrator: The crew rested soundly as sun set over the Djose plains. Various healing charms made by the Djose priests had been scattered around the crew's quarters to help them recover through night. A cool breeze blew over the encampment as dawn broke, catching bits of dew that had formed upon the blades of grass. Yuna had woken up early to pack up the supplies and prepare her equipment. She stared into the horizon toward the Djose Temple in the distance. It had been so long since she'd visited the temple; she recalled navigating through the cloister of trials, and praying to the Fayth for hours within the summoner's chamber. What corruption awaited them she could not say, but eerie and familiar feeling stirred in her heart.

The party set out soon after dawn broke, making their way across the vast plains and endless rock formations toward the Djose temple. They'd yet to find Ark or Rowan; the crew could only hope that they'd survived the crash. The terrain was rocky and wet, and the sky above them became darker and riddled with storm clouds as they got closer and closer to the temple. Finally, after nearly six hours of navigating through the treacherous terrain, the temple could be seen in the distance. Before they could continue toward the temple Rauthius shouted "Stop!...The kaleidogram hex is near...." Rauthius could sense the dark magic nearby, causing his ears to ring and throwing him off balance slightly. "There!" Rauthius shouted and stretched for his hand, slowly revealing what appeared to a sort of fractal roughly 50 feet ahead.

Kaleidogram Hex

The surface of the bizarre illusion radiated a steady stream of energy which filled the air with a deep humming noise. "Do you think you'll be able to dispel it Rauthius?" Yuna asked. Rauthius moved closer toward the illusion. "I think so...its as I thought. It seems to be powered by spiritual energy of some sort...I should be able to unravel it. However, concentrations of spiritual energy like this attract fiends like moths to a flame. It will require my full attention and I'll require protection" Rauthius explained. Yuna cocked her gun blade and prepared for battle. "Bring this down Rauthius...we will take out any fiends that get in your way" Yuna exclaimed. Rauthius's eyes turned white as he stretched out both hands toward the kaleidogram, twisting his fingers back and forth as he attempted to unravel the hex. The humming sound grew louder as the illusion released pulses of energy, nearly knocking the crew off their feet. This continued for several minutes before a loud roar came from the sky. Seconds later, an enormous fiend (BOSS) roughly 20 feet tall, covered in bizarre green scales and enormous wings struck the ground. Disks of energy spun beneath its wings. "Protect Rauthius! He must finish dispelling the hex!" Yuna screamed as she blasted the large fiend once in the arm and once in the chest. The beast howled in agony before charging up its tail with energy, and swinging it toward the crew.

Kaleidogram Fiend

Without a second thought, Blackheart drew his swords and threw himself in front of the rest of the party. This fiend was like no other, but Blackheart was confident that he would be able to protect Yuna like Kimarhi before him. He then attempted to block the attack.

Narrator: The creature's tail ricocheted off of Blackheart's twin swords as blood poured from the newly formed wound upon the creature's flesh. The fiend roared in agony before leaping toward the sky. While midair, the disks beneath the creatures wings began to spin and collect energy. Suddenly the creature unleashed a shock wave of force which ripped the surrounding boulders from the ground and sped toward the crew. Yuna jumped in front of her companions, and quickly cast a powerful protection spell, forming a thick barrier of translucent energy. The shock wave collided with the protection spell, causing thick glowing cracks to form within magical barrier before shattering it to pieces. Rauthius was nearly finished unraveling the kaleidogram, which now filled the air with an audible roar as it emitted pulses of energy. "Now, take it down!" Yuna shouted as she unleashed a volley of bullets at the fiend. The bullets tore through the creatures wings causing it to fall back down to the ground. Yuna placed her hands on her knees, nearly collapsing from exhaustion. Between healing the crew after the airship wreck, seeking out the temple, and battling this monstrous fiend, she was physically and mentally drained.

While the creature was still down, Blackheart took the opportunity to finish it off. "Let me finish this, Lady Yuna." He took note that Yuna was drained, whereas he wasn't. This time, he decided to use only one sword, so he plunged one of them into the ground before powering up the other. He then jumped, looking to stab it in the head. However, as the creature was still moving, he didn't know if it was going to attack back or not, but was determined to bring it down before it can harm Yuna or any of her companions.

Narrator: Blackheart's blade sunk deep into the creatures skull. Blood spewed from the wound as the fiend thrashed about upon the ground before emitting a high pitched screech. The deafening vibrations ceased; the Kaleidogram had finally been dispelled, shattering into reflective shards which flew in every direction. "It is done" Rauthius said, struggling to catch his breath. His head was throbbing; the Kaleidogram had proven more difficult to dispel than he'd expected. Yuna approached the fiend to examine its carcass. Suddenly the fiend's chest began to peel away, releasing a nauseating gas and revealing the body of a man. "What in the..." Yuna exclaimed bewilderingly. The man's skin was wrinkled and pale, and strange arteries could be seen connecting the man's flesh to the body of the fiend. The man's eyes opened wide, his face filled with panic before coughing up blood and perishing. "What foul sorcery could be responsible for this..." Yuna said as she closed the man's eyes. Rauthius approached the man's body to get a look for himself. "There is dark magic at work here Yuna...we'd best hurry."

Djose Temple

Djose_temple_artwork_ffx.png

The crew continued toward the temple which was visible in the near distance. The temple was dilapidated; a shadow of its former glory. Thousands of the bizarre cables they'd previously come across at the crystalline statue were leading toward the temple. "Prepare yourselves..." Yuna said as they approached the massive temple doors. Yuna signaled to Rauthius. He nodded and stretched forth his hand. His eyes turned pale white, as he began to recite a spell in his mind. A glowing green rune began to form upon the temple doors, branding the stone. "Stand back" Rauthius cautioned. He closed his hand, causing the rune to detonate with a torrent of acid. Large chunks of rock flew from the door, as acid ate away at the remaining stone; the way was clear.

Crystalline Locus

The crew proceeded into the Temple with caution. It appeared abandoned. The thousands of cables lead toward the the back of ornate room, beyond the destroyed Cloister of Trials and into the summoners chamber. The chamber was covered in crystals, with the cables meeting at a single locus; a massive crystal which contained the body of woman. Around the crystal were several Guado priests which were kneeling upon the ground, appearing the worship the strange object. "Stand! This has gone far enough! We've destroyed your illusions and defeated your pet abomination. Enough games! We're retaking this temple. You are under arrest for crimes against Spira!" Yuna shouted at kneeling priests. They failed to respond, and continued to worship the crystalline object. The cables funneled more and more energy into the crystal, causing it to glow brightly.

Suddenly, the crystal began to crack. The woman emerged from the crystal, spreading apart the shards and cables as though hatching from an egg. "Master!" The guado priests shouted as she emerged. Her naked body was covered in a yellow slime. She had pale skin and long black hair. "Suyasa..." Rauthius said under his breath. The woman began to walk toward the crew, slicking her hair back and and filling her ravaged lungs with the dank air. "Stand back!" Yuna said as she pointed her gunblade at the woman. The woman lifted her head and made eye contact with Yuna. She began to chuckle. "Now Lady Yuna...is that really how you're going to speak to your husband after all these years...". Yuna's face filled with horror. The inflection in the woman's voice sent shivers down Yuna's spine; there was something all too familiar about the being before her. "...Seymour...?" Yuna muttered. The woman began to laugh hysterically. "It's a pleasure as always m'lady...What? Are you surprised? You should know from experience that I'm extraordinarily difficult to kill...". Yuna was speechless. She took several steps back, struggling not to collapse from shock. "You...how...?". The woman merely chuckled. "Bring out the prisoner!". Several Guado priests escorted a bound man into the chamber. His condition was severe; he was badly wounded and had likely been without food or water for days. "ROWAN!" Rauthius shouted as he entered the room. "I must say Yuna, you're choice in guardians is as exquisite as ever...this one put up quite the fight" The woman said before punching Rowan in the gut. Yuna's face turned from horror to rage. "You're responsible for this Seymour...the beckoning, the return of Sin, everything!". The disguised Seymour began to applaud. "Sharp as ever my sweet wife! You see, my loyal servants have slaved away tirelessly to facilitate my return. Tis no surprise; the Guado have always exceeded the other races of Spira in intelligence and cunning. Death has no power over me...I am immortal...but there's really no need to discuss the details. Unfortunately I've no time to chat; I'm afraid I'm already behind schedule...if you manage to get out of here alive m'lady I hope we shall meet again...I may have a use for you yet...Goodbye...for now". Seymour began to walk away toward the back of the chamber. Guado soldiers began to close in around the crew. Seymour began to weave a strange spell with his hands before blasting apart the back wall of the chamber with a wave of energy. An airship could be heard landing upon the ground; the same airship they'd encountered before. Seymour began to board the ramp before pausing and turning toward Blackheart and Rauthius. "I see you've crossed paths with the wannabe Ronso and Guado tratior? Fate is truly whimsical. The Ronso were a gallant race indeed; Kelk, Yenke and Biran, sacrificing themselves one after the another... Although I suppose such courage is something you'll never really understand...pitiful human....And as for you traitor, what a shame...Such power and potential, squandered! It will be a pleasure knowing that such a stain has been purged from the Guado name....kill them!" Seymour exclaimed before boarding the airship and vanishing into the sky.

Five Guado soldiers and five Guado priests (normal enemies) closed in on the crew. The soldiers assaulted the crew with razor sharp blades while the priests conjured and launched several large balls of searing flame in their direction.
