Narrator: Yuna gazed in the mirror as she fastened her gun to her belt. It had been a long time since she'd worn her Gun Mage attire; it had been a long time since she needed to. Yuna had presided as a Priestess of New Yevon in Besaid for some time, making occasional trips to Bevelle for matters of business. She was being pulled from her world of ceremonies, sendings, and paperwork, and again thrust into the heat of battle. She took a deep sigh as she pushed back her hair and took one more look at the room she would leave behind. She heard a knock on the door. "Come in" Yuna shouted. Shelinda walked in, as timid and homely as ever. "Lady Yuna...I came to wish you well on your journey. I...I hope I can meet up to your expectations as Priestess while you're away...It's an honor and a..." Yuna cut her off. "You're going to do fine Shelinda. I've talked with your employer in Luca, Orco promises you'll have a job when you return. And you're going to love Besaid; the beaches are warm and the sunsets are breathtaking." She placed her hands on Shelinda and offered a comforting smile before turning back to the mirror to put on her necklace. She walked over to her desk and pulled out a small sphere. "What is that m'lady?" Shelinda timidly asked. Yuna turned to the sphere and activated it. A hologram of a man appeared. "Lady Yuna, this is Silo , Priest of Djose temple. I regret having to burden you with this, but I'm afraid I'm left with no other choice. Several months ago our temple was ambushed by a group of cultists, forcing us to retreat to a small encampment several miles away. Unfortunately we know little about these zealots. We know they're Guado, and we believe they came from the north. Gaudosalam claims no knowledge of this renegade group and our efforts to retake the temple have been in vain. There appears to be some strange spell protecting the temple; its difficult to explain in great detail but a bizarre illusion prevents us from even approaching, and our priests are clueless as to how to dispel it. To make matters worse, many of the temple's tenants have gone missing from the encampment, including our temple's Guardian, Suyasa. Fiends threaten to overrun our encampment, and with the recent kidnappings, we live in constant fear. I implore you Lady Yuna, please help us."

Shelinda's face was filled with fear as she looked toward Yuna. "I see m'lady...". "I must do something Shelinda. I must find out who these cultists are and what their motives are. If they have anything to do with this recent disturbance in the Farplane, then it is my duty to investigate it. These people need me" Yuna exclaimed. They both stood in silence for several moments. "Have my companions arrived at the air pad?" "They should be arriving any moment m'lady" Shelinda explained. Yuna nodded, grabbed her rucksack, and headed for the airpad on the east side of Bevelle, ready to set out for the long journey ahead...

Introduction:

For thousands of years Spira was caught in an endless spiral of death. The abomination known as Sin, an enormous construction of pyreflies guarding the long deceased summoner Yu Yevon, terrorized the world. For centuries, summoners aided by the fayth, sacrificed themselves to bring about brief period of peace known as the calm, only for Yu Yevon to possess the final Aeon, and resurrect Sin once more. Finally, disenchanted with the teachings of Yevon, a Summoner known as Yuna, along with her guardians, rebelled against the Maesters, slew Yunalesca, and finally Yu Yevon himself, dispelling dream Zanarkand, and forever putting an end to the scourge of Spira....or so it seemed.

It seems that Spira's nightmare is all but over. Now a disturbance in the Farplane has threatened to plunge Spira into despair yet again. The dead have begun manifesting throughout the land. Shadows of their former selves, these tortured souls found no peace in their new lives, and have begun to turn into fiends, wreaking havoc upon the lives of their loved ones. But the dead denizens of Spira were not the only ones to return from the Farplane. Sin itself has been reborn, and has continued its unrelenting assault on the world. So many question remain unanswered; what afflicts the Farplane? What has lead to the disturbing phenomenon known as 'the beckoning' and finally, who could have possibly desired for Sin to once more come into the world?

In response to Spira's recent troubles, the former summoner Yuna, now High Priestess of the splinter group known as the Yevonites, has called out to various orders throughout Spira, recruiting powerful warriors from across the land to help her discover the source of the recent disturbances, and defeat Sin once and for all.

Rules and Guidelines:

1.) You're not invincible: It's important that your character take blows occasionally. Our party is struggling against Sin, and it's going to be difficult. We're going to kick some serious ass but we're also going to get our own asses handed to us from time to time. Being vulnerable makes your character more interesting.

2.) Try to post everyday, 2 days at the absolute most: If we are to keep the RP moving along we need players to post regularly. I ask that players post once per day, and once per two days at the absolute most (this should be rare). After two days of inactivity the RP will continue without you.

3.) Be kind and respectful: Treat your fellow RPers with kindness and respect. If there are tensions in character within the RP, make sure that players aren't taking it personally out of character. Absolutely NO racist, sexist, homophobic, transphobic, or otherwise derogatory language or references will be tolerated whatsoever.

Character Creation Template: Please include this information in the role play application.

1.Name: Your characters name.

2.Race: Races include Human (if Al Bhed, please specify), Guado, and Ronso

3.Gender: Options include Male, Female or Other.

4.Orientation: Your character's sexual orientation (Heterosexual, Bisexual, Homosexual, Asexual)

5.Physical Appearance: height, weight, skin color, hair color, eye color, clothing, and any special characteristics. (1 paragraph min.)

6.Weapon: Your character's weapon style of choice.

7. Major Specialization and Minor Specialization: Characters may choose 1 major specialization and 1 minor specialization. Options include Heavy Melee (strong but slow attacks), Light Melee (lighter but faster attacks), Ranged (Guns and ranged weaponry), Machina (mechanical devices), Fire Magic, Ice Magic, Lightning Magic, Water Magic, Bio Magic, Death Magic, White Magic, Time Magic.

*Abilities will improve and increase as we progress through the game. For example in the beginning, a fire spell may launch a small bolt of fire, while and end game spell might conjure an enormous torrent of flame. Just make sure to tailor your abilities to your level in the game.

8. Character Bio: Your character's history, personality, strengths, weaknesses, insecurities, goals, motives, and relation to the story line. This should be thorough and interesting. How did you come to be recruited by Yuna? What are your connections with the world of Spira? Being specific and thorough will help better integrate your character into the storyline. (2 paragraph min.)

Rauthius: Rauthius made his way down the busy streets of Bevelle toward the airpad where he was to meet his new companions; Yuna, Arklander, Maia, Rowan, Shival and Sierra. He'd seen their names briefly in the request letter sent by Yuna, but he was eager to meet them in person. As he continued toward the east side of town the air pad became visible. The air pad was an enormous structure and he could see the top of the airship from beyond. Rauthius had limited experience with machina, but this mechanical wonder was truly unlike anything he'd ever seen before. He pulled out his sketchpad and quickly outlined the building before throwing it back in his rucksack. He proceeded to approach the airpad, which was guarded by several armed guards. "State your name and business!" the guard exclaimed. His abruptness caught Rauthius off guard. "Um..my name is Rauthius...I'm to meet with Lady Yuna?" Rauthius muttered. The guard turned to the other and nodded. "I see. Well, your attire is certainly bizarre enough to match the description we were given...right this way." The Guard on the left signaled him to follow. The vaulted ceilings were incredibly high from the ground, with various wires and circuits going every which way. In the distance he saw the large airship, stationed at a terminal which stood on the edge of a several hundred foot drop off. Lady Yuna was waiting patiently on the entrance ramp, tinkering with a large piece of machina. Rauthius approached. "M'lady, this is one of the adventurers you were expecting I presume?" The guard uttered. "You must be Rauthius. I've been expecting you. I'm sure we'll have need of your magical skills in the journey to come. Make yourself at home; the others should be here shortly. We set out at dusk." Yuna explained. "Thank you m'lady' Rauthius responded. "Please, call me Yuna. We're going to be together for quite a while and I've never really had much time for formalities," Yuna said with a chuckle. Rauthius nodded with a smile. "Yuna, may I ask where we are headed? I've never seen an airship like this before...can this thing really fly? How fast and how far can it actually go?!" Rauthius asked. Yuna began to laugh. "Very fast and very far. It's an Al Bhed creation; Arklander should be able to answer any questions about it you may have. I'll go into more detail once everyone has arrived, but our first destination is Djose. The temple has been overrun by religious cultists, possibly adherents to old Yevon. Djose is very close to the moonflow, a powerful source of spiritual energy, and I have my suspicions that these zealots may be hiding information regrading the Farplane" Yuna explained. "I see..." Rauthius said, looking perplexed. "I will help in whatever way I can Yuna. I am confident that we will find and eliminate the source of this corruption." Yuna smiled, "Your confidence is encouraging Rauthius. I sincerely hope it lasts. Rest while you can." Rauthius nodded and sat down against the loading ramp, waiting for his remaining companions to arrive.

Rowan stared in awestruck as he walked through the streets of Bevelle. Everything's so different than what he grew up around in Kilika. All the giant structures and high-tech gizmos and gadgets were mesmerizing in Rowan's eyes. He nearly ran into a few pillars and building from staring at the glamour of the city.

Rowan eventually arrived at the airpad gates. He was about to walk past the guards when one of them abruptly asked him for his name and business. Rowan jumped and almost grabbed the hilt of his sword before he realized the guards meant no harm. Exhaling, he turned to face them. "Oh, ummmm, I-I'm Rowan. Lady Yuna sent for me..." The guards gave his one more hard look before nodding and leading him into the base. After a few minutes of walking, the guards stopped at a door. "Wait here until the others arrive," the guard said as he opened the door. Rowan nodded in response and then walked right in. There was already one person that had arrived. Judging by his clothes and demeanor, he must have traveled a long ways to get here. Rowan took one glance at him before taking a seat on the opposite side of the man, making sure he didn't make eye contact with the stranger.

Narrator: "You must be Rowan" Yuna said with a smile. "I'm Yuna. Thank you for coming; we'll have need of your swiftness in battle. This is Rauthius, a black mage from Bikanel. You've both traveled a long way; you two should get to know each other. We've a long journey ahead of us. Get some rest, we set out for Djose at dusk."

Sierra walked briskly down the streets with her hood up and she glanced from side to side at her surroundings. This wasn't her first time to Bevelle, but she was always awed by the marvellous place. She'd received a letter from Yuna to come and aid her, much to the teen's shock. However, she was glad at being asked so she stopped wandering andheaded straight to Bevelle. She kept her head angled down slightly so that if someone talked to her, they wouldn't see her face. No sense in scaring people and having them chase me out... if it's like all of the other places I've been. Sierra stopped walking and had a quick look around before walking on. Since she didn't know exactly where she was heading; simply heading in a random direction seemed the right cause of action.

Soon, Sierra arrived at the airpad, the place she was meant to be and walked straight up to the guards who asked her for her name and what she was doing here. Looking up at them she spoke simply, "Sierra and I have a letter from Yuna to be here." She said holding up the letter. Nodding, the guards let her in and she headed towards a building with guards following just behind her as escorts to which she huffed. When they stopped in front of the building, the guards left and she watched them go before she entered the building and saw three others in the room, one she recognized as Yuna. She pulled her hood up further and folded her arms in the sleeves of her cloak.

Narrator: "Sierra?" Yuna began to chuckle as she attempted to look beneath the young girl's hood. "There's no need to hide. You're safe here." Yuna gazed into the girl's deep red eyes. "We're not all so judgmental you know. If anyone we run into has a problem with you they'll have a problem with us as well. You'll be a great asset to this team; it'll be nice to have another gunner around. This is Rauthius, a Black Mage from Bikanel, and this is Rowen, a warrior from Kilika. The others should be arriving shortly. Get to know each other, we have a long journey ahead of us. We'll set out soon."

Ark checked the systems of the airship for the fourth time making sure everything was in order. With the new engine being an experimental machina he had been working on for a long time, he wanted to make sure it was functioning at peak level for their departure.

"Now all that's left is to wait for the crew to arrive." he stated to no one in particular. He got up from his pilots seat and made his way down the long interior corridor. He took out a holographic picture of his mother and father standing with him as a young boy. If only they could see him now. Beginning his journey along side the magnificent high summoner Yuna. They would be so proud. A stab of guilt flooded through his heart.

"If only..." he began to say when suddenly he noticed outside one of the side windows that others had arrived. The guards stood there hovering, waiting for any sign of danger as each new member arrived.

"Well might as well go introduce myself." He said putting the hologram away. "I'll make it right mother and father. I'll make it right."

Ark proceeded to the large loading dock at the back of the airship. It was the only entrance on or off since he hadn't designed it with any other, except for when in emergency situations. He waited as the back hatch folded down created a steep ramp up into the ship.

Then he began to make his way toward the building.

He walked right past the guards as they greeted each other.

"Dewaer. Shoguth. " He said nodding to each of the guards.

"Arklander." They responded in unison.

Ark made his way down the hall and to the appointed meeting place. He walked in to see Yuna and the others.

"Hello everyone. I'm Arklander but I prefer to be called Ark. Nice to meet each of you. I'm looking forward to our journey together." He said smiling warmly. Each one looked to be formidable in their own right. Indeed lady Yuna had chosen well.

Sierra looked up as Yuna spoke to her and shuffled uncomfortably as the Summoner looked at her eyes, but she nodded once Yuna had finished and pushed her hood back to reveal her head and nodded at each person as they were introduced to her and turned when she heard someone just outside the door in time to see it open to see a man enter who soon introduced himself as Arklander or Ark. Sierra nodded at him and then went back to looking at the ground.

Narrator: "Ark, rev the engines and prepare for take off. It's nearly dusk. The journey to Djose will take a whole day and we haven't got much time; I'm not sure how much longer the Djose encampment can hold out" Yuna said, as she tossed several bags of supplies into the airship's storage cabin. "Everyone on board!" She motioned Rauthius, Rowan, Sierra and Ark toward the airship, their hair blowing to and fro from the turbulence of the engines.

Timely posting.

Hey peeps, I've noticed that a couple of you haven't posted at all since I opened up the RP, and we've just started which is a little disheartening. There are quite a few players in this RP and if we are going to keep a steady pace, I need people to post relatively regularly. With that said I'm extending the posting minimum to once every two days, hopefully this will give people more time. I want to be accommodating but I also don't want to make people wait more than 2 or 3 days to continue...

Ark sat down in the pilots seat preparing the air ships systems for take off. The Aeromark Sky Traveler or "The Traveler" he had dubbed it, was a huge ship with four main compartments. The Navigation Deck, which is where he was currently piloting the ship. Their was enough room for himself and a copilot if need be, and was the smallest of the departments within air ship. He had access to control all life systems, navigational, and piloting systems of the ship from there, the copilot could control all weapons and defense systems from their council and if need be they could swap controls without even leaving their seats. A loud speaker system allowed him to speak to the entire ship when needed and wall panels all over the ship allowed inhabitants to talk back. The Living Quarters, was the largest department with a total of eight seperate room units, one for each member of the crew and some extra in case they picked up a guest or two. A nice sized kitchen/sitting area to prepare and eat food, and four levaritories two of which housed showers. The Loading Dock was very wide and spacious allowing for supplies to be filled with whatevere was needed. Ark was indeed a freak about keeping things tidy within his air ship, so he even added a large amount of storage within the bottom of the ship, known as the Undercarriage. It only housed extra ammunition for the ships weapons systems as of now but was still over fifty percent empty. Their was a Medical Bay with three examination tables for the injured and a cabinet stocked full of emergency medical supplies. And lastly, a personal work station where Ark could fiddle with his machina inventions. Arks circular center work table was huge with multiple tool drawers that slide out beneath it and access cabinets filled with his blue prints, raw materials, and larger tools all on the outside walls. There were chairs that could be raised up from the floor panels to surround the table allowing it to be used as a conference room whenever lady Yuna saw fit to plan out our next plan of action.

"Lady Yuna! Everything is in order and ready!" He called out through the ships spearkers. He was totally pumped to begin their journey but he tried his best to hide it. He didn't want to seem to overly anxious.

"All four nexus engines in full throttle. Waiting on your order to commenced lift off." Ark said checking the status of each seperate engine and calibrating each one accordingly making sure to keep their power levels equal. Their was a total of seven turbine engines in all. Four smaller Nexus engines, one on each corner of the ship used for liftoff, hovering, and can be adjusted and turned in a 360 degree angle to assist in thrust and manuevering. Two medium sized Caliber engines, one each beneath both of the side wings for maneuvering, changing directions, dodging attacks, ect and one large Titan engine on the top center of the air ship as the main force for acceleration, thrust, and achieving maximum speed.

Foot steps echoed in the long, corridor-like passageways that lead up to the air dock as Shival ran. She was running so late, she barely had time to check her map, much less enjoy the foreign surroundings. She skidded around corners, just avoiding running into people, evoking protests about outsiders not having any respect. Shival didn't even bother to smile at them, her ship coming into Bevelle had been held so late she would be lucky to even make it to the air ship for this mission. How shameful it was to be late for take off for a special task-force mission, especially after being called for by the High Priestess herself. Pausing only long enough to determine which hall to take next, she shook her head in distaste, and bolted down what should be the last hall leading up to the air pad they were supposed to gather at almost an hour ago. She could see the plat form now, and to her dismay, they were already boarding the ship! In near panic now, she almost bulldozed right into the guards at the entry way. They tried to question her about who she was and what her business was, but she didn't dare break her line of sight with the hue air ship.

"I-I'm already late! Just let me in!!" She roared, but the persisted. "Fine, fine. Shival, and I'm late for duty as is. Here." The young mercenary thrust the invitation from Yuna at one of the guards, still refusing to look away from her goal. The guards looked it over for a painful moment, but eventually stepped aside, releasing her like a bullet towards the ship. The hatch was still open, but she could no longer see any of the the others.

Shival didn't bother to skid to a stop until she was beside the other, panting. "I am so SORRY." She passed to calm her breathing, "My ship-pirates- got caught up... Had to make it safe." She was half bent, hands on her knees, more out of shame than exhaustion. Eventually she tipped her head up to get a good look at the others. Yuna smiled, nearly unphased by her sudden appearance. The was also a Guado who was oddly garbed, even for a Guado. A pale, short girl with white hair and reddish pink eyes, though her hood was pulled far over her head. And-a bit to her surprise (then again they were on an air ship), another AlBhed. Shival raised an eye brow as she straightened out to her full six feet.

'What an odd crew this is...' She thought to herself. 'Even in Luca you don't see gatherings like this. Let's hope this goes well.'

Rowan stood up when Yuna came into the room to greet him. "Thank you, Lady Yuna. It is an honor to be fighting by your side," he said, bowing lowly at the waist. He then nodded to the other man, Rauthius, before sitting down again. Soon, another person came to the room, looking a lot shorter than everybody else. The thing that made the girl, Sierra, stand out was her snow white hair and red eyes. Rowan didn't think the look was native to any place in Spira, so it might have given the girl some problems as she was growing up. Probably the reason why she had her hood up earlier. The door opened again to another young man, who introduced himself as Arklander, or Ark for short. Rowan nodded back the guy as well as to Sierra as he was being introduced to her by Lady Yuna.

Not too long after that, Yuna started motioning the group to the airship since it was time to leave. The turbulence from the engines was so strong that he had keep one hand on his head to keep his hair from whipping his face. The airship was unlike anything he's seen in his life. Rowan almost stopped right there to take in the view, but he knew he couldn't keep the others waiting. He promised himself to take the time to explore the place when things have settled down. Rowan looked up when he heard the voice coming from the speakers. No turning back now huh? He smiled slightly. He was ready for anything that they had to face.

Narrator: Yuna began to laugh as Shival came bursting down the hall toward the airship in a hurried panic. "It's alright! I'm glad you could make it Shival. Come on board! I'll introduce you to the crew once we're in the air!" Yuna shouted against the turbulent noise of the engines. She motioned Shival to enter the ship as they prepared for take off.

Sierra walked into the ship and stopped when she heard noise behind her and turned to see a late arrival introduce herself as Shival. Sounds a lot like Shiva... Odd. Shrugging to herself, she walked onwards and looked around the ship, impressed by the airship. She decided to find somewhere to rest and stay there for the rest of the journey, unbothered by the other members of the group and began walking around, memorizing the layout of the airship. "I suppose this airship could be called impressive." Sierra muttered to herself quietly.

Narrator: A loud 'clank' could be heard as the entrance ramp folded up and sealed shut. The roar of the engines began to increase even louder as the airship pulled away from the terminal. Yuna quickly walked toward the navigation room. "We're all set Ark. Show us what this thing can do. Full speed to Djose." Yuna said with an enthusiastic smile. The Aeromark Traveler began to slowly rise into the air roughly 100 feet above the Air Pad. Breathtaking scenery of Bevelle could be seen from the windows. The crew had only had a moment to view it however. The two caliber engines emitted bursts of air, propelling the the airship forward. After a few moments, the Titan engine atop the ship began to spew a torrent of blue flame, causing the airship to accelerate with even greater force as it reached maximum speed in a matter of seconds. The Traveler rose higher and higher into the air. The great capital of Bevelle became ever smaller from their view as they soared into the clouds. At long last, their journey had finally begun.

Once the Traveler had reached maximum altitude, Yuna called the crew into the navigation room for a small council. "First of all I'd like to thank everyone again for agreeing to join me. We have a long journey ahead of us, one that I could not do alone. I selected each of you for a specific reason. Each of you has a select set of skills that will be vital to the security of this crew and the success of our mission. As many of you may know, a strange phenomenon afflicts the Farplane and as a result, the dead have begun to return to Spira, beckoned by those who mourn them. While this may seem to some a miracle to be celebrated, those who return find no peace in their new lives. Overcome with anguish and despair, these tortured souls are inevitably turning into fiends. Furthermore Sin, the scourge of Spira that I put to rest years ago, has returned" Yuna paused for a moment, clearly filled with distress. "Many years ago when I started my pilgrimage as a lowly summoner, I made a sacred vow to the people of Spira; to dedicate my life to defeating Sin. I will not allow Spira to once more fall into despair! Not after we've come this far. I've defeated Sin before, and I will do it again." Yuna took a deep breath before reaching for the small sphere in her rucksack. "Our journey begins in Djose." Yuna activated the sphere and further explained the situation at the Djose Temple. She explained how it had been overrun by a bizarre group of Guado fanatics, forcing its tenants to retreat to an outlying encampment. Furthermore she explained that a strange and magical illusion of sorts prevented them from attempting to retake the temple, and that the encampment has been suffering from a series of mysterious kidnappings.

"We should arrive around dusk tomorrow. Make sure you use this time to prepare yourselves, there's no telling what we'll encounter at the temple....Oh and here." Yuna pulled out several large sea weed wraps filled with rice, smoked fish and various vegetables and tossed them to each crew member, along with a small glass bottle of sake. "Eat up, and use that Sake sparingly, it's all we'll have for a while. I'm going to retire for the evening; it's been a long day and I need some time alone. I'll see you tomorrow." Yuna gave a quick smile and a bow before returning to her quarters.

The crew began to eat their modest meal, taking their time to prepare their equipment and ready their minds for the journey ahead, while getting to their new crew members, and hopefully, in time, their new friends.

Ark initiated the Travelers guidance systems setting a course for the Djose Temple. At the speed they were moving it wouldn't take too long. He was somewhat hesitant to leave the controls unattended this early in the trip but alas' he had business that he had to attend to with the rest of the crew. If they indeed up getting into an air battle he was going to need a competent gunner to man the weapons systems. But just who would be qualified to fit that role?

Ark began to walk the ship looking for anyone to talk to, when he noticed a woman but not just any woman. More like an amazon, but Ark didn't stare or make any awkward gestures as not to offend the woman and get beaten up in the process.

She was standing tall at six feet, and had to be weighing in at least 180 pounds. She looked to be slightly older than he was, probably somewhere in her early 20's. Had straight dirty blonde hair, with black tips and it was tied high up on the back of her head and deep green eyes.

He had seen only a small amount of people like her before during his travels and if not for her immense size he would have guessed she was an Al bhed as he was. He wondered if she had any experience with using machina? It was obvious she was a physical warrior but could she put those skills to use by manning the guns of the Traveler? As his mentor had always says told, "Why playing guessing games when you can deduce, estimate, and experiment. That's the difference between being a scientist and a gambler." As intimidating as she was, Ark decided to give her ago.

"Hey, ahh. I dont think we've met. My names Arklander but i prefer to go by Ark. You a friend of Lady Yuna's? I am an Al Bhed and I'm guessing you are too?" he said hesitantly failing at all at being confident, but at least he had worked up the nerve to speak to her.

Having listened to Yuna's debrief, Sierra was now wandering the ship, learning it's layout so that she could get somewhere without any issues. So far, she'd been left alone which she was happy about, but knowing it wouldn't last. Still, Sierra would try to be friendly towards the others. She was impressed by the airship and found it quite comfortable. She was quietly thinking to herself as she walked around the corridors.

Rauthius: Rauthius was sitting against a corridor wall with his legs folded, eating the small meal Yuna had provided him. He saw Sierra as she turned a corner. "Hello. My name is Rauthius" he said with a subtle smile. "There's no need to be afraid dear girl. Like the lady Yuna said, you're among friends." Rauthius paused for a moment. "I hope this isn't too bold but I can understand and appreciate your frustration. Not only am I part Guado, but I hail from a very distant and isolated culture, and I've received many harsh looks myself since arriving in Bevelle. In truth the outside world of Spira is very much a mystery to me." Rauthius stood up and took one of the small sweet bean cakes and offered it to Sierra. "I don't mean to sound trite, but experience has taught me that to seek others' approval, is to become their slave" Rauthius said with a grin. He proceeded to collect his things from the floor and bowed slightly to Sierra before continuing down the corridor.

Sierra blinked as Rathius began speaking to her and just looked at him warily as he explained about how he'd had trouble with people. She nodded slowly and jumped when he offered her some sort of cake. When it was still offered, she took it and nibbled on it, watching as Rathius picked up his things and left. After he left, she blinked a couple more times before glaring at the ground again. She finished eating the cake and nodded to herself, "That tasted... good." Sierra gave a small smile and continued to walk down a different corridor.

"Ark, huh?" Shival said, finally at ease that she was not being left behind. "Yeah, surprised there's more'n one of us here. AlBhed I mean. Though I figure you run this ship, 'n' that's reason 'nough to keep yah around." She smiled brightly.

She looked around the room, noting the details on the walls and seams that ran the length of the corridor. Air ships made her a bit nervous, as they had a tendency to fall apart or dysfunction when she was on them. Her travel up to Beviele from Luca had been by boat and she had spent ample time on the deck, in the air. This air ship, though impressive, felt cramped in comparison. Though it could have been the weariness of traveling in excess lately.

"Ma names Shival. I'm not much of an-average-AlBhed, if ever there was a thing. But I keep my own. 'Id you like out there on Bikanel? I've never actually been there, raised in Luca, yah see." She sighed a bit as she reminded her self of how much running around shed done. She would have been better off just to travel to Djose alone, heading up from Luca, rather than down from Beviele. "'Id you have to travel far to get here-or- to Beviele?" She asked the younger AlBhed, curious to see the differences between them.

Battle Mechanics

Here is the mechanism for how battles shall operate in the RP. When executing attacks, post what your character is attempting to do. For example, a player attempting to land a melee sword attack may post "(Character's name) sprinted toward the enemy and swung his blade toward the creature's limb, attempting to slice its artery and induce profuse bleeding." I then as the Narrator will determine what the effect is, that is whether the attack hits, is dodged or blocked. I'm doing this primarily to...

Narrator: The crew rested as the Traveler soared through the night sky, over the Macalania Forest and past the expansive Thunder Plains, as furious lightning storms raged below. The sun crept over the horizon as dawn broke, revealing the vast moonflow in the distance. Yuna had been awake for several hours, preparing for their arrival in Djose. She'd requested that Rauthius meet her in the navigation room, she wanted to discuss the Illusion Hex that was preventing the Djose guardians from retaking the temple, hoping he might have some clues as to how to dispel it. "Good morning Rauthius. Sorry to wake you so early, but I've been mightily perplexed by this supposed illusion hex cast by these renegade Guado, and I was wondering if you had suggestions as to how to dispel it" Yuna said with a distraught tone. "I suspect it's a kaleidogram hex. It's powerful magic to be sure. It uses spiritual energy to weave a sort of paradox; those who attempt to walk past it, wander through a time space inversion which inevitably leads them to their original location. I suspect such a hex is powered by the spiritual energy supplied by the moonflow" Rauthius explained. "I see....is it something you think you'll be able to dispel?" Yuna asked. "It will be difficult...and I can't make any promises, but I think I should be able to unravel it. It will require tremendous concentration however. Additionally, the magic used to dispel it will likely attract fiends; I'll need protection" Rauthius explained. "And you shall have it". Yuna began to pace around the room, contemplating what Rauthius had told her.

Suddenly, the ship began to tremble as a deafening boom filled the air. Yuna and Rauthius stood up abruptbly, their faces filled with shock. Yuna ran towards the front windows of the ship. Another black airship, slightly smaller than the traveler could be seen roughly 50 feet from the airship; steering closer and closer. Three energy cannons were stationed at the front of the deck, one still brimming with electricity from the previous attack on the Traveler. The second cannon began to light up, preparing to release a stored up a charge of electrical energy. "Hold on!" Yuna screamed. Another bolt struck the ship, causing it tremble once more and knocking Yuna and Rauthius off their feet. Yuna dashed toward the front of the ship and slammed on the intercom system. "Rowan, Shival, to the roof platform! We're under attack! Ark, we'll need you to navigate the airship and attack from the cockpit! Sierra and Rauthius, use your firearms and spells to take down those cannons! This ship won't survive another hit!" Yuna looked at the navigation panel of the airship; the ship's shields were extremely low. A large hatch opened on the side of the enemy airship and launched two massive cables at the Traveler. A tall, mysterious man with a long white ponytail, clad in black robes, and wearing a pair of iron gauntlets dashed across the metal cables and flipped onto the roof platform. He raised his hand, signalling five warriors clothed in black wielding sharp blades to join him. Yuna dashed to the roof to face this strange adversary. She was armed with a gunblade. "We cannot allow you to meddle further" the mysterious man said in a foreboding tone.

Battle Mechanics revised!

So I've been thinking and I'm only going to apply my battle system to bosses (to control how long boss fights are). So when fighting bosses, state what your character is attempting to do, and I'll narrate the effect. On normal enemies however, I'm leaving it entirely up to you guys. I don't have a problem with one hitting normal enemies. I'll state which enemies are bosses and which are normal enemies. Just don't kill more normal enemies that is your fair share :) .
Sorry for the litany of...

Rowan had gone to a quieter part of the airship so he could eat his food in peace. He sighed from exhaustion after munching on a few bites. His weariness from the long trip was starting to get to him. Yuna did say that the crew would arrive to Djose in the morning, so he had time to take a quick nap. He eventually gave in and closed his eyes. After a while, however, he was abruptly awakened to a deafening boom that filled the air. He tried standing up, but was immediately knocked off his feet from another tremble. Rowan's eyes widened with shock when he heard Yuna over the intercom. An attack? Already? He grabbed his short sword out from his belt and sprinted to the roof platform.

When he finally reached the platform, Yuna was already there, armed with her gunblade. In front of her was a tall, intimidating man and five others warriors behind him. Judging by their similar clothes and demeanor, they were on his side. Rowan rushed to Yuna side, lowering into his fighting stance. "So...what'd I miss?" he asked, glancing at Yuna.
