Fight or Flight

"Shania then."

Esteheim tipped a non-existent hat in her direction

"Did you require something of me?"

Sanz gave a scowl and pulled himself up without Sage's help

"My name is SanZ"

He emphasized the 'z' on the end, without anything after it

"Right..." Sage said pulling her hand back when he got up without her help. "So Kat posed a very important question. If you fancy men. If not, then we would be happy to give you an tip into the world. It is very fun~" Sage mentioned with a grin, in fact she wrapped her arms around Sanz's arm.

Rhea and Roen flew out of few for a for moments, circling around the area on all sides to see if they could get a hold of more information or any other surrounding threats.

"Well to stop you from sauntering off for one, we got a birds eye veiw up topside," She said refering of course to Roen. "Also... you are too proper...." Shania sighed her temper was in check now locked back in it's little box but it was always at risk of coming back out.

KAt chuckled "Gladly too," he told Sanz and winked.

"I'm straight dammit!"

Sanz waved his arm around in an effort to throw Sage off of him. He couldn't have weighed more than a-hundred pounds or so

Estenheim gave a grin at Shania, a wide one that covered his entire face

"Well, being prim and proper has gotten me this far in life without dying, so I believe I will continue to do so."

Sage was wiggled off. She was able to keep a good hold on his arm, though she slid down it till eventually she was on her butt, "Rude.." Sage said with a chuckle from the ground.

"Yeah well as you saw earlier I have a bit of a temper on me," Shania said "and any my lady madame bowing politness will agitate me," she told him "Its a friendly warning I'm not like most,"

KAt pouted "so mean Sanzy," he hugged Sage "Sage we'll have to make sure Sanzy isn't frustrated, he can be so rude,"

"I'll keep that in mind . . . Shania."

Estenheim smiled and looked up to the sky

"How long do you suppose until our airborne friends return?"

"What, you would prefer I was a paragon of manners? Keep dreaming."

Sanz shook his head in an effort to get the water out of it

"Oh no, we are simply implying your muscles are a bit too tense. We know the prefect remedy for that." Sage said with a long grin. She picked herself up with Kat's help.

Rhea and Roen did return after a few moments, they circled around the area a bit before landing. Roen didn't land all that soft, but hit the ground and galoped a few feet before stopping.

Shania looked at Rhea and Roen "whats up top?" she asked arms crossed over her chest.

KAt hugged Sage from behind and smiled "We'll be nice right Sage?" he asked her with a smile.

"I'm not interested in relaxing. I'm interested in surviving long enough to punch that snot-nosed god in the face."

Sanz pointedly marched past the two towards Roen.

Sage chuckled a bit and got out of Kat's arms to follow him and get the news of the surrounding area.

"There is denser woodland and a temple to north. Well what I think is the north. There is Mountains to the east. Ocean to the south and a canyon to the west... roughly." Rhea mentioned.

"Ohh.. A temple. The Moutains sound fun too." Sage said with a thought.

"The temple means shelter but it could also mean other people," Shania said

"Yay people! maybe someone to help us get home? I love it here and all but I wanna cuddle my sister," Kat ment his adopted sister Fae of course.

"The mountains would give us a place to defend ourselves from. I don't trust the forest after what we've seen here."

On another note, Sanz wasn't sure he would trust any people that lived in a world like this

Estenheim raised his hand

"Perhaps we should delegate someone as our leader? To make a final decision easy?"

Sage wiggled her fingers a bit, "Oooh, Were I come from, the mountains are worse then the forest." She told the group. She then put her hand on her hips, "designated leader? I vote boo." Sage turned her hand for a thumbed down gesture.

"Why?" Roen asked with a snort, "I think a leader is a great idea. I think it should be Rhea."

"Of course you would vote for your friend. Even if you delegated a leader, I still wouldn't listen to her. Kat listens to me. So that is two people you wouldn't have followed. Besides, she seems way too shy. I use to take people like her to bed all the time. She has this super cute stutter." Sage said giving her a wink.

Rhea gave a soft flush when Sage seemed like she was hitting on her? "I think.. if we were to make a leadership... we could combined it. Like make two people. To help keep a balance. Or perhaps... we should merit a voting system.. given people points on deeds to make they've done... it will make their vote heavier.."

Rhea paused and cleared her throat, "For example.. we will all start with one point... Since Sanz and Shania were first to go protect the group.. I say they get half a point. Sage and Kat got us an advantage.. they can get half a point. So now Sanz, Shania, Sage and Kat all out weight Roen, Est and I. If the whole group agrees that a person's point-age goes up, then it can go up."

"I'm not sure I follow," Shania said "I'm used to leading war efforts but decisions based on a group I'm a bit rusty," She admitted her fault unashamed. "I can help us survive, but I would not advise giving me decitions based on anything other then fighting or survival,"

"I say Sage is a good leader!" Kat bonded up and down "Sage sage we have half a point thats like a whole point! Awesome right!?"

"I don't like it."

Sanz had crossed his arms and was leaning against a nearby ruined building

"For such a system to work, you'd need everyone to agree on how much one person's vote was worth, and the instant someone disagrees then that doesn't work anymore. Furthermore, if we don't have time to deliberate an action, or we can't come to a unanimous decision, there's no final say that gets us moving without arguing for god-knows how long. It's not necessarily a bad system for situations like right now, but it needs a solid head who has a final say when we can't agree, and who also can decide who gets these 'points' when. And it should be someone that we can trust not to abuse such power."

Sanz spoke the last sentence while looking Rhea directly in the eyes

"So on that front, I actually agree with the dragon."

Estenheim ran his fingers through his hair and let out a long sigh. The point of introducing such an idea was to make it easier to make decisions, not harder

Rhea held her breath a bit as Sanz looked up at her. She didn't think she could really lead everyone here. Special with Sage and Kat already saying they won't follow. But for the most part they will and she knew they would... for the most part. She didn't want to be the sole leader. Things like that could go poorly. So Rhea thought.

But you are not alone. You have me to help.. and I'm sure if you ask for opinions. Roen assured her.

No.. I don't really want to be leader... Rhea spoke back to him.

Sage boo'ed a bit again, "Yeah look, Kat thinks i'll be a good leader. Did you not seem me totally get the cat to leave so no one had to die?"

"I do I do!" Kat agreed "Sage has lead before too Experiance is important!"

Shania sighed "Lets agree to get to safety then we will think I'm sure we are not safe here, in fact I feel that the cats will be the least of our worries here," She said she wanted to move. "Lets cast a vote on where to head off then go there and set up a bit of protection for ourselves exchange jobs skills and the like,"

Sanz shook his head

"I won't argue, but I still vote the foothills of the mountain."

Estenheim raised his hand from behind Rhea

"I vote the temple. Those are generally good to hole up in . . . not that I have experience or anything . . ."

The last statement was muttered under his breath

"I'm not found of closed places I can't fly. I'm good any place BUT the temple." Roen said with a long snort.

Rhea made a bit of a face, "I think the the temple may be good because there might be people there and stuff. Who knows. They may be friendly and help with things." Rhea suggest.

Sage thought a moment, "I'm hereing a lot of temples. So I think we should go play in the temple too!" Sage said

"Temple!" Kat said "I like the gardens they often have!" he chuckled.

"If there are living things there it might help get a bearing on the type of people here and if they are huninoid like us or not." Shania said looking at Rhea and Roen.

Sanz pushed himself off the wall with a sigh

"I don't like it, but I can see I'm outvoted. Who's going to lead the way?"

Estenheim let out a quick breath and looked up at the sky

"Finding anyone who knows more about the surrounding area would be very helpful."

"Who cares who leads. Lets just go. We arent sneeking around... we can't. Not with a large clumsy group like this." Sage told them, "However if you want us to scout ahead, then Kat and I are the people for you."

"Reyes." Rhea called, the slim blue head poped out of Rhea's shirt. "Can you go and look around."

"Yes, sounds great." Reyes then flew out of Rhea's shirt. He was wingless and looked more like a snake with tinny arms. He was no longer the a bat. No thicker then a stick. He flew off almost like the wind, there was even a light breeze that seemed to carry him as he disappeared into the forest. "There. Reyes should come back every now and again." Rhea told them. "He'll even tell us when he sees prey."

"Nifty..." Sage said, a bit less ethusastic when she spook earlier.

Rhea then turned to touch Roen, he flashed and turned back into his human from. "Lets go... I'll lead since I know where it is roughly." Rhea offered, turning to point a direction.

"I'll agree with that," Shania said to Rhea even as the dragon popping out of her shirt sort of made he wonder what else she was hiding and how many more dragons could possibly pop up.

Kat was all for Sages Idea he liked scouting though it seemed Rhea had a better Idea he pouted a bit and stuck neer Sage he signed to her "I hope Kai has something good planned these people are no fun,"

Sanz started marching without comment. He was going to save his words for when they mattered most. And besides, these people weren't his friends, they were circumstantial allies at best.

Estenheim walked up behind Rhea, a somewhat cheeky grin on his face

"How many of those little critters do you have hiding in there?"
