Futuristic Fear the Night: Planet Nox

Daisha snapped at the scientists for what they did wrong and began explaining how to handle a specimen with care. From where he was left, Fred called to Jenson. "Hey man!" He said, waving him over. "How was it?"

Jenson 'Niner' Dewitt

Jenson looked over his shoulder at he exited the lab, grinning at the instant rank of authority that Daisha took above the scientists. He gave a retina scan for the exit of the lab before exiting and looking around at the slightly peaceful area around him. His thoughts were pierced by Fred who waved to him and called out to him. He grinned and stuck his tongue out at Fred before speaking.

"We brought a whole Banshee home this time."

"A whole Banshee aye? Well shit bro, looks like you and tree hugger make a good team." He said. "So didnt come back with the oh so important skin, but with a real Banshee? If I had known there would be a Banshee to tackle then I would have gone down there a long time ago. Your lucky man, I think you'll survive this planet the easiest!" He said with a laugh.

Jenson grinned and slipped his helmet under his shoulder while clipping his rifle onto his waist. He rolled his eyes at Fred's excuse to going down the caves. He sighed as he remembered what Daisha said before shaking his head and pushing past Fred towards his living quarters.

"Yeah, yeah."

Fred stepped aside out of his way. "You dont want to share the details? Did you run into anything else?" He asked. He then shrugged, "I guess it is exhausting having to babysit an overly annoying tree hugger and all that" He said, leaning against a wall.

Jenson continued to walk away from Fred until he turned and narrowed his eyes at him. He rose his free hand to flip him off before walking off and calling back to him in an annoyed tone.

"She's not a tree hugger."

He then disappeared through the doors into the living quarters. Once inside he made his way to his room, counting down the numbers until he reached his room, turning to the code bar that was on the door frame and thumbing in his code: 16-5-23-16-5-23 lovingly thought up by him as it translated to PewPEW. He grinned as he watched the door slide open, entering and looking around the rectangular room. The room in question was about about 2 meters wide and 5 meters long with a metal bed in the far left corner, a desk and chair with a small computer on it, a small TV that was held up by a metal shelf which was situated opposite of the bed near the ceiling, a metal weapon rack, and finally a work bench that held a numerous amount of tools such as welders and other items.

"Home sweet home." He remarked.

Jenson lowered his helmet from under his shoulder and placed it on his desk, unclipping his rifle and leaning it on the metal weapon rack along with his pistol before finally, still in his armor, sitting on the chair at the desk and turning on his computer. He instantly went to his email and scrolled down. Nothing popped out, mostly scams and advertisement which he promptly deleted before turning his computer off and standing. He then went over to his weapon rack, picking up his rifle and then turning to his workbench where he sat down and began working on his rifle.

Fred raised his eyebrows at Jenson flipping him off, defending Daisha in the process. "What got him so defensive?" He muttered to himself, shrugging and walked in the other direction. "Ugh, it sucks out here. There are zero females that are worth looking at" He talked to himself as he walked.

Before Jenson's room door slid shut, a slender little body squeezed his way in. The little Intruder crawled to Jenson and jumped up on his back and curled his tail around his arm as he watched Jenson work on his rifle. He now had a metal cuff around his neck, a dogtag looking tag hanging down. It said Cuddles.

Jenson continued to work for a few more minutes until, somehow, he could tell something else was in here. Other than the shuffling of a constantly moving body there was something else in here. As he suspected, Jenson was greeted by Daisha's Intruder who had lived up to it's name and managed to slip into his room. He grinned as he laid down the screwdriver and cocked his head to look at the creature that was now perched on his shoulders. He noticed the little metal panel on it's neck and squinted to view the letters 'Cuddles'. He grinned and laughed a little before looking back up at the creature.

"She finally got around to naming you, huh ?" He said to no one in particular.

He continued to study the creature, running his hand along it's back as he felt the bones and organs from this distance. As he guessed the Cuddles squirmed in an irritated manner, prompting Jenson to stop before turning back to his weapon and beginning to fasten a small screen onto the side of his rifle. Once this was done he took a small battery from his box and slipped it just underneath the scope where he rigged a small power source and led it to the screen. Now with precision, Jenson slowly inched the screen back and pressed a blue button that was left of a black monitor, turning the machine on. At first the words. 'Insert Power Source.' popped up but after the machine recognized the battery it booted up to show an imaged of the room in a blue tinge. Grinning, Jenson stood and lowered the Intruder to the ground before aiming the camera at it. As he had calibrated it to do the machine picked up a small heat signature, but nothing more.

(Cuddles ? Is this foreboding ?)

(Kinda.)

Cuddles tilted his head with he was set down on the floor, kind of bummed that he had been pulled away from a heat source. He saw the camera being pointed at him, but what he didn't like what the gun. Since the camera was strapped to the gun, and the camera was being pointed at him, it looked like the gun itself was being pointed. He hissed, the spikes along his back that were flattened raised. He did nothing to attack though, he just watched Jenson carefully.

Jenson watched as the small heat source shifted around under the camera, knowing why before a hissing pierced the silent air. He lowered the gun and camera so that it was facing the ground before watching as the Intruder's spines began to protrude and it became a little aggressive. He laughed a little but turning the camera off and flipping it back onto the side of the gun before placing the rifle on the rack. He then turned to the Intruder which he knelt down by and picked up so that it was once again on his back.

"Not a fan of guns, are you ?" He asked to the creature.

He cocked his head to look at the Intruder before walking to his door and pressing a small red button which opened the door. He then exited into the hallway and much to the dismay of the scientists nearby, walked back outside with the Intruder on his back. He looked around slowly before making his way back to the lab where he approached Daisha and grinned.

"Finally got around to naming it ?"

The Intruder calmed down, taking no signs of aggression from Jenson after he lowered the gun. When placed back on his back he wrapped his tail around Jenson's arm and rested his head on Jenson's shoulder. He liked the heat. He made a loud squeak/nasty ass sounding bark when he saw Daisha. The scientist turned when she heard it and Jenson's voice, nodding at the question with a smile. "Yep, a cute name for a cute creature." She said. It seemed she had lingered by the Banshee the longest, looking it over and over again. She had taken the time to get her armor off her, now in her normal clothes she usually wore since she found the armor uncomfortable. Of course the time it took to put back on was longer than she would have liked. "Also, it took LOTS of poking around and such, but this Banshee is a female. And guess what? An X-Ray we took of her showed she may be laying eggs soon. There is some DNA we took, results will be back in soon and we will know if we should be prepared for this"

Jenson 'Niner' Dewitt

Jenson grinned and looked at the Banshee who was now awake and trying to tend to it's wounds to now avail. He then looked back at Daisha and looked her up and down before cocking his head to look at Cuddles. He took note of Daisha being in her regular clothes which was the opposite of what he did as he usually was escorting the litlte civilians or scientists to do their crazy things.

"The little bugger managed to get into my room, now I know how they got their names." He smirked.

He then cocked a brow at Daisha's explanation on the Banshee's gender and if she was pregnant or not, grinning a little as he shook his head in dismay. Scientists, how they did it, he'd never know. He then walked over to the Banshee's cell and stared at it quietly, the beast taking notice and letting out a loud shriek of anger, most likely due to it recognizing his armor or because he noticed the Intruder.

"So... Soon, we'll have a few more cages with deadly fucks ? But their babies ?.. Lemme know how it goes."

Cuddles let out a screech right back at the Banshee, his spines quavering. Intruders always served as prey to the bigger species of Nox, so he hated the sight of any other predator that wasnt an Intruder. Daisha nodded, "I would make sure he hasnt taken anything while he was in there. They do like shiny things oddly enough" She said, looking at the Banshee. "If she does lay her eggs they wont be here. I'm not letting them keep her here, I'll somehow get her back to the caves" She said.

Jenson 'Niner' Dewitt

Jenson nodded before raising a hand and stroking the Intruder's neck to calm it down, the shrieking of both of the creatures soon silencing as the Intruder went back to surveying the room from it's perch and the Banshee went back to preening itself clean. He looked at Daisha and nodded again as he took note of what she said about Intruders.

"I doubt it's-sorry, he stole anything... He was sitting on my shoulder the whole time... How will you take it back ? This is a live Banshee with eggs, I doubt HQ is going to let go a real live alien with real live alien eggs."

"We're the aliens here, it just doesnt feel right to have her lay the eggs here. And I bet you whoever the fuck thinks their in charge is going to take the babies from her when they are able to. Who knows what they'll do to them. I just dont want to see a dead baby Banshee because of experimenting or some rookie stabbed a needle in an important organ" Daisha said, not looking away from the Banshee as she talked. "And they wont even care. Their just more test subjects to poke at as far as their concerned"

Jenson 'Niner' Dewitt

Jenson nodded solemnly, staring down at the Banshee as it moved onto flicking the acid away from it's tail and onto the thick glass that separated them. He knew that they couldn't do anything about it, he was simply a soldier and she was a scientist, they certainly didn't hold any high ranks. He sighed and leaned against the outer layer of metal, staring at the Banshee as it continued to try and burn it's way through the glass to no avail.

"We can't really do anything about it."

"I know" She sighed. Daisha stood there for a minute then clenched her fist and punched the glass as hard as she could. The glass didnt even have a scratch, but she wasnt trying to break it. She was just pissed off. "These fuckers who hold any power is going to destroy this planet. They'll kill off any species who defy them, like they do back home" She growled.

Jenson 'Niner' Dewitt

Jenson reached up and pet the Intruder which was still slightly on edge at the sight of the Banshee seemingly being held back by nothing. He jumped and removed his hand from the Intruder when Daisha lashed out at the glass, most likely causing her fist to ache. He stared for a few seconds before placing a hand on her shoulder in a comforting way.

"We need to think... You know how you can almost completely talk to the Bellators ? We could schedule a trip... Try and negotiate, warn them, or atleast try and get a peace treaty signed."

The thought alone was ludicrous but Jenson was willing to try if it meant keeping the planet's wildlife, aggressive or not, safe from HQ's plans.

"I dont know if they will value the peace treaty thing, for all they know its just a piece of paper with words. But we could warn them, I came for studying wildlife and the Bellators to get a better understanding of them. I didnt sign up for mass murder" She said, looking over at Jenson. "When are we going to go? And do you think anyone else should be involved?"

Jenson 'Niner' Dewitt

Jenson nodded before puffing his cheeks in and out as he stepped back and paced in a little motion. He came to a stop after a moment before grinning and looking at Daisha, approaching as he signaled to the Banshee. If his thoughts were correct then hopefully the Bellators would accept a gift, or at least accept that two humans had just saved a creature from inevitable death.

"2 Ideas. 1. Is we bring along a few weapons of ours so that if they don't believe in a treaty they can have a peace of mind, knowing they can fight back. Or 2. We bring this Banshee, with all the babies, to the Bellators, explaining what would happen to it and the babies had we not saved it."

Daisha thought about the plans, really liking the second one. She nodded with a smile, "Bellators have been taming and training these Banshees for years I believe. And they live off what they hunt and the environment besides their weapons. If they do tame these creatures, then they are part of a family as well. They'd protect them. We could tell them about everything that might happen too. Overall, I hope this gains trust"

Jenson 'Niner' Dewitt

Jenson nodded along with her with a small smile on his face as he continued to pace, wondering how they would get past the rest of security. The cell had tear gas and other anesthetic gases loaded into it, so releasing the Banshee without it attacking would be easy. But carrying a Banshee over his shoulder would attract suspicion that would most likely get them shot. A sack of large bag would have to do, Daisha could say it was for sample collection. Then there was the remote, but deadly, chance of being spotted by the Bellators that he and Fred were attack by earlier, they would most likely recognize his armor and attack.

"We'll need some sort of container for the Banshee, I doubt that HQ will let us leave with a Banshee slung over our shoulder... Then there's the problem of returning without anything, we may have to collect some plant life or another Intruder on the way back to make it look realistic. Finally, the problem of Fred... He'll want to know where we've been, or he'll want to come with us."

"A portable container to hold a Banshee in. Hmm, well if you get that covered I will work on sedating the Banshee. We'll have to be careful about the amount of sedatives though, too many would slow her body down too much and possible kill the eggs" She said. "Oh yea, Fred. Well if he wants to come let him, I'm pretty sure if he tries to sing to anyone I can silence him"

Jenson 'Niner' Dewitt

Jenson nodded before glancing at the Banshee as it curled up into a ball, now asleep. The male nodded before turning and making his way to the door where he stopped and looked at Daisha. He stared for a few seconds as though scanning her features before turning and exiting the room, heading towards the cargo warehouse where weapons, vehicles, and other things were kept. If he was lucky, he could find a container for the Banshee.

Daisha watched the Banshee closely, if shes asleep now she must have been just a bit exhasted from being poked and prodded at. She was honestly a bit uneasy about using sedatives on her, but they needed to get her out somehow without her biting their heads off. She was aware of Jenson lingering for the few seconds but didnt turn her head to look over, just kept to herself and her thoughts. She would have something figured out by the time he got back.

Fred noticed Jenson enter the warehouse, figuring he was getting something for something. Well, he had nothing else better to do, so he followed him and stopped at the door. He leaned against the wall, wondering what this guy was up to if anything.
