Fandom Fate/Zero-Fate/Stay Night based RP?(Interest Check)

Archer

King of Heroes
So I would simply like to inquire as to the interest level regarding the start up of a FSN/F0 based game on this site. Obviously those that have seen any of the series will be familiar to a good degree how the series would work.

The plot would be familiar and straightforward at first, with there being a standard Holy Grail War set in an alternate universe where the fourth and fifth did not happen. All seven classes for servants would be present and such. Magic would work the same way and the plot would still be a battle royale centered one.

To those unfamiliar with the series, here is a brief little OV of what a RP based on it would look like.

The Holy Grail ritual, a ritual established many hundreds of years ago by three founding families in Japan, is set to restart once more in the modern age. The ritual itself is where seven mages, dubbed masters, summon their own familiar, a heroic spirit dubbed a servant.

Heroic spirits are the souls of figures famous in human history. They can be from legend, folk tale, myth and the like as long as they are figures that have existed/been recorded before the modern age. Such spirits are exceptionally powerful beings with all the powers that their legends grant them, and possibly more spawning from their legends. For example, Alexander the Great is able to summon his entire army as a result of his ordeals in life that cemented his fame. It is generally established that the older the spirit, the stronger though this is rarely the case.

The seven master and servant pairs then fight against each other in a battle royale, with the last servant master pair standing being designated the winner. The Holy Grail, as expected, grants a wish which is the main motivation for the mages involved. The servants are also granted a wish so that they can also have motivation to serve their masters.

Please note that this is a barebones outline of what the RP would be like, and if I am able to witness at least four people familiar with the series and able to RP then I should be motivated enough to expand heavily to an extent those unfamiliar can join without hitches.

I am very interested. I have seen Fate/Stay Night, though I haven't gotten around to watching Fate/Zero.

Ah one viewer of the magnificent series how fortunate! Thank you for your interest.

I have not but am willing to try and read more about it after work tonight but would be interested in playing

Ah I see, if I get someone versed in the series then I shall put up a significant amount of elaboration to clarify things then.

.

Question: Do we have to use the canon servants?

Also, are we playing both a servant and a master, or just one?

No you don't have to use Canon servants though you can if you desire. Making both a master and servant is dependant on how many people join. Currently I can pull out two players from a different site but 14 joining is unrealistic so a few will have to make both.

I have procured another from a different site to co moderate this RP if it happens. I only require three more interested to fill a minimum quota.

I love the series. Kudos to you for making this. It'll be hard to capture the show though. However, I welcome the effort and would like to see how you go about it.

Thank you for your interest. This isn't the first grail war I have created and conducted and hopefully not the last as they are always quite entertaining. Currently I am not sure as to whether I water down the mechanics of the series or adhere true to every nuance and rule.

If this is the 1st one on this site, water it down. The series is very complex; classes, noble phantasms, luck, it's going to be hard to pull on the first get-go, and then get people to join on top of that. Try something simple, and then when people get the hang of it, add a little bit more of the details drop by drop.

The main thing that needs to be watered down is magecraft mechanics. Things like Od, Prana, Origins, Crests, Schools, Region based specializations, Circuits, Familiar mechanics, Alchemy, general capacities of a mage, family inheritance, etc. are all concepts that can either be kept in to be true to canon or watered down significantly.

Servants and such are quite simple to explain with the only complications arising from Parameter nuances which can be removed entirely if needs be.

I see. You plan to do this all through Rp? Like there will be no numbers and such?

Superb, this seems to be enough people to have enough impetus to create a thread which I will get to work on.
