The Prophecy

With the aid of the mystical crystals known as Godshards, the great world of  Invaress has prospered for the years past. Peace and harmony reigned supreme over the dark shadows of the world, creating a utopia-like place for almost everyone.

However, all things must come to an end.

Foretold by an oracle long gone, the Godshards shall be shattered one by one, and the world shall know true hell. Darkness will envelop the lands, seas, and skies that no one will ever see the face of the magnificent sun ever again. An eternal night shall fall upon the world, and with it, the dreaded fiends shall resurface with their armies of monsters. And when the last Godshard is broken, the world shall be brought to ruin, exploding from its very core and ceasing the existence of all.

Destiny Calls

With this, the world calls upon the souls fated to repel the said prophecy. Hailing from different lands, these destined individuals shall band together and take on a perilous journey to vanquish evil and protect the Godshards. Said to receive powers beyond belief, they shall emerge victorious against the world's foretold end. They shall set the world free from the chains of fate, and be eternally hailed as heroes.

The Beginning

The chosen individuals are gathered at the city of Spiergard. Here, they are to be forged to become the heroes they must be in order to save the world. Whether they do excellently or not, as well as accept their fate, is a mystery of the future.

Hello everyone, Reinhardt here with another fantasy RP concept.

I wanted to have a take on the classic "save the world" plot, but put my own twist on it. After playing a number of games (such as Summon Night, Final Fantasy,  Fire Emblem, etc.) I've come up with this.

So, before we begin I'd like to let you know what I expect from you, should you join in this endeavor.
    1. Commitment. As always, I prefer to have committed players who won't back out immediately or disappear before the RP even begins. Even at time when things get dull, I prefer when the players themselves show initiative to make sure the RP goes as far as it could, or if possible, get to its finale.
   2. Participation. A roleplay is a collaborative work between a group of writers. I'd appreciate it greatly if you help in the world-building, plot construction, and such. Because not only would the player help the GM and give more time for posts, but it would also give them a sense of involvement and belonging, which I'm pretty sure is a valuable reward.
   3. Initiative. Don't rely on the GM too much. Show your desire to push the story forward, to add complications, to make RPing more fun than it already is. Of course, don't just immediately go do things, ask permission or suggest your ideas first before you do anything.
   4. Detail. Now, I'm not asking you to do a 10+ paragraph post every time, instead, make sure that your posts contain enough detail to push the story forward, not only to react, or to do some random stalling. I don't mind single paragraph posts, as long as they can fulfill their purpose. One-liners, on the other hand, are not allowed.

Now that that's done. Why would you join this? Well then, let me try miserably to hook you in with a few points:
   - The story is not as simple as it seems. There will be a number of twists and turns.
   - For better "gameplay", there will be a system used. Though it involves numbers, there use of dice will be very minimal to the point that it is somewhat irrelevant.
   - World-building. All players are encouraged to partake in crafting the world as the story progresses, and make their own history on its lore.

That's all I got for now. I know it's kind of pathetic.

If you are interested, please post below. The thread shall be worked upon as soon as four or five players show interest. There will also be posts that reveal further details, which will arrive soon. And if you have any questions, feel free to ask them below.

Hello everyone. Since the requirement has been met, I shall begin working on the threads and hope to finish them as soon as possible.

Now, let's talk business.

As said in the opening post, there will be a certain system that will orchestrate the RP, mostly on combat scenarios. It will be having many numbers, but lessen its usage of dice. But how shall it be done, when using numbers (or stats, in this case) will most likely require frequent dice rolls to perform well? The answer is rather simple - I, the GM, will roll the dice for you, when needed. Whenever there's a dice roll to be had, I will be doing it. Don't worry, I'll make sure you can keep track of my rolls and that they are not fabricated results.

Moving on.

The system, as mentioned earlier, will be using stats. That means your characters will be given strengths and weaknesses through their stats. Don't worry, stat growth is a thing here. And since there are stats, leveling is to follow. All characters will be leveled, and how their levels would increase shall be discussed at a latter point.

Next, and most likely the ones you'd like to know are classes. Each character is entitled to a single class that defines their playstyle - an aggressive warrior, a majestic mage, a sneaky rogue, and many more. Each class will contain a set of skills and bonuses, that will be obtained through various means, one of which is by gaining levels. But there's a cache.

A character's class cannot be changed. That means you can't swap from a warrior to a mage, and vice-versa like in those RPGs. However, a character's class can evolve. By obtaining a certain amout of goals, your character's class will be upgraded into a better version, should you choose to.

Now, since I've mentioned that, let's talk about starting classes. As usual, there's the classic warrior-mage-rogue classes, but I'd like to know if you have any ideas or concepts on a class that you will use so we can discuss further on it. If you do, please don't be afraid to speak up. Also, give me some details on the class and how you would want it to play out - for example, an alchemist - a class that focuses on aoe buffs and debuffs, as well as item usage.

Anyways, that's all for now. I'll continue working on the threads.

Quick question before I go flop over because my arm's killing me, how much free reign do we have with helping the world building? Because I can sit down and build stuff for days, but I don't want to be overbearing, I guess? Like, where's the line of what we're allowed to contribute? (like, what, if any fantasy creatures/races there are, how magic works, how common mages are, blah blah blah)

All contributions will be first considered as suggestions, then turned into concepts. After a discussion and some few revisions/alterations, the player's world-building contributions will be set for approval. Once approved, it will be canon and used for the RP.

Why is that, you might ask? In order to make sure things don't get out of hand, as well as make these ideas fitting for the world that we all are thinking about, or expecting, in the least.

I'd love to get to working on a character once the sheet is up, but I likely won't have anything done before the New Year rolls in. Will it be too late?

Nope. The process of initial world-building and system modification usually takes a week or more, and CSs would most likely take time to be completed, let alone approved.

I intend to follow and keep track of this one so I can potentially join when my workload slows. Is that alright?

Damn I'm so interested in this! Do you have room for one more?

Fate Grandis is currently under construction. Everyone, I ask for your patience. The process might take longer than expected due to certain disturbances.

On another matter, I am looking for co-GMs. Their job is to assist in the creation of the HP and management of the RP once it begins. If you are interested, send me a PM so we can discuss details.

Just letting everyone know that this is not dead. The construction of the thread is taking longer than expected, but I am aiming to have enough details up so it can be ready for launch.

Can I get confirmation on whether I can join or not?

Hello everyone, Reinhardt here.

I am proud to announce that the HP has been launched, and is now ready for activity. I will now invite those who stated their interest, but I will also put a link below just in case.
