The Prophecy
With the aid of the mystical crystals known as Godshards, the great world of Invaress has prospered for the years past. Peace and harmony reigned supreme over the dark shadows of the world, creating a utopia-like place for almost everyone.
However, all things must come to an end.
Foretold by an oracle long gone, the Godshards shall be shattered one by one, and the world shall know true hell. Darkness will envelop the lands, seas, and skies that no one will ever see the face of the magnificent sun ever again. An eternal night shall fall upon the world, and with it, the dreaded fiends shall resurface with their armies of monsters. And when the last Godshard is broken, the world shall be brought to ruin, exploding from its very core and ceasing the existence of all.
Destiny Calls
With this, the world calls upon the souls fated to repel the said prophecy. Hailing from different lands, these destined individuals shall band together and take on a perilous journey to vanquish evil and protect the Godshards. Said to receive powers beyond belief, they shall emerge victorious against the world's foretold end. They shall set the world free from the chains of fate, and be eternally hailed as heroes.
The Beginning
The chosen individuals are gathered at the city of Spiergard. Here, they are to be forged to become the heroes they must be in order to save the world. Whether they do excellently or not, as well as accept their fate, is a mystery of the future.
Hello everyone, Reinhardt here with another fantasy RP concept.
I wanted to have a take on the classic "save the world" plot, but put my own twist on it. After playing a number of games (such as Summon Night, Final Fantasy, Fire Emblem, etc.) I've come up with this.
So, before we begin I'd like to let you know what I expect from you, should you join in this endeavor.
1. Commitment. As always, I prefer to have committed players who won't back out immediately or disappear before the RP even begins. Even at time when things get dull, I prefer when the players themselves show initiative to make sure the RP goes as far as it could, or if possible, get to its finale.
2. Participation. A roleplay is a collaborative work between a group of writers. I'd appreciate it greatly if you help in the world-building, plot construction, and such. Because not only would the player help the GM and give more time for posts, but it would also give them a sense of involvement and belonging, which I'm pretty sure is a valuable reward.
3. Initiative. Don't rely on the GM too much. Show your desire to push the story forward, to add complications, to make RPing more fun than it already is. Of course, don't just immediately go do things, ask permission or suggest your ideas first before you do anything.
4. Detail. Now, I'm not asking you to do a 10+ paragraph post every time, instead, make sure that your posts contain enough detail to push the story forward, not only to react, or to do some random stalling. I don't mind single paragraph posts, as long as they can fulfill their purpose. One-liners, on the other hand, are not allowed.
Now that that's done. Why would you join this? Well then, let me try miserably to hook you in with a few points:
- The story is not as simple as it seems. There will be a number of twists and turns.
- For better "gameplay", there will be a system used. Though it involves numbers, there use of dice will be very minimal to the point that it is somewhat irrelevant.
- World-building. All players are encouraged to partake in crafting the world as the story progresses, and make their own history on its lore.
That's all I got for now. I know it's kind of pathetic.
If you are interested, please post below. The thread shall be worked upon as soon as four or five players show interest. There will also be posts that reveal further details, which will arrive soon. And if you have any questions, feel free to ask them below.
