On the displacement note, I'm pretty sure displacement magecraft applies more to a category than an individual kind of displacement. What you seem to have based your's in is the Ainsworth's signature Flash Air - who is indeed Alchemy - but I highly doubt that's the only spell in the category.

The point is that you didn't rewrite it as much as you just changed the name and some of the wording, you see? Kinda makes it equally as lazy but twice as likely to make people call you out for plagiarism or some shit like that.

'Plagiarism' would be retarded since everything here falls in that category. It's as unique as any other magic in use in the RP. It's just Bandit's own personal preferences demanding to be catered to, nothing more and nothing less.

I'm not saying it is plagiarism, bruv. I mean, It's a roleplay, if you called your character Ainsworth and referenced to canon shit while using the same exact abilities as them it would still not be considered plagiarism.
Thing is that some people may be irked by shit like that while just leaving things as they are in canon is generally ok, so it's better to just go for the lazier option unless you intend to make a completely different ability using the same foundation.

Even if they did take issue with it, I'd just tell them to shush. That sorta thing is subjective preference, I much prefer things having a unique flair to them even if it's just names and treatment rather than a straight copy-paste from the source (and since I know nothing about the source, my version would invariably end up different anyways). Even if it's largely the same thing, minor tweaks to make it your own is preferable to me. But as demonstrated, some people like Bandit prefer to just use the straight copy-paste. Bandit's special so I change it for him, even if I think it's silly. I wouldn't care what other people thought, though lmao.
