Ryuga Tohsaka
QuirkyAngel QuirkyAngel LostHaven LostHaven Hanarei Hanarei

Ryuga would breathe a sigh of relief; He didn't get into an unnecessary struggle that he had little information on. He was also relieved that Fenrir was picked up the the 'Director' before it would get hurt in a negative way. If that actually had happened, Ryuga would have gone berserk, not like the way the crazed lesbian Berserker could do, but perhaps the 'John Wick' type of berserk.

Ryuga would jump after Garm identified the strange woman as a zombie ... Or some kind of undead.

"To think there would be a woman depraved enough to make love to a corpse to breath creation to thee. Crawl back to your grave,"

"Hold up, she's a Homosexual?! No, nevermind I said that, but considering I heard that, you'd better hide if a certain crazy redhead comes by here."
Ryuga would say to Lorina, indirectly poking fun at Light's berserker, even if she wasn't there.

After getting handcuffed, he looked at Alan. "Thank you for getting Fenrir for me."

Garm would grab Fenrir from Alan after avoiding getting handcuffed, and hand him back to Ryuga, as Ryuga's face deadpanned. How was he supposed to take Fenrir will his arms disabled? Fenrir jumped from Garm's hands onto Ryuga's head, before sticking it's tongue out at Lorina.

As soon as mention of a powerful force had appeared, Ryuga would be sweating uncomfortably.
"Um.... Should I ask what that is?"

The Boy Killer seemed surprised when she was spoken to, stiffening a bit, before turning to face the blonde Assassin. Her face flushed red when the words registered, though she didn't reply. The second one's words though...

...a bit of drool dribbled from her lips.

It was tempting.

So very tempting.

The boy killer looked to the Dim Sum. She'd never seen anything like it. She very much wanted to try. For a brief time in when she'd been alive, there was nothing she couldn't afford if she'd wanted it. When she'd wanted it. Looking back at the offered hand, she almost reached out to take it. Almost.

Then she saw the image of herself reflected on the glass of a passing car window. And she remembered.

Everything. Her current form. The feelings she had now. It was all a punishment for her crimes. For the suffering she had caused.

Snatching back her hand, the Boy Killer shook her head and wiped the drool from her lips. "No. I don't deserve it. I killed him. And to mother, I--"

A civilian passed by then. A small boy holding the hand of his mother. His Mother.

A switch seemed to have flipped within the Boy Killer. Sword materializing in her hand, the blind-folded woman stalked towards the couple.

The world didn't need anymore like her.

Options!
1. Attack her now. This is your chance. While she doesn't know you're the enemy.
2. Keeping talking to her. She might still listen to you. Maybe you can distract her.
3. Ignore it/Just keep watching. What's one little boy's life?
4. Other. Because there's always an other option.

Alan stared after Garm while the Servant made his escape. Santa Claus? Shaking his head, Alan gave up trying to comprehend the clock-eating, Shakespearean- talking Servant and scowled at his giggling employees instead. They'd just let an enemy leave unimpeded and they were laughing? It was probably because he smelled like Ramen at the moment that he was feeling so annoyed. Otherwise, he might've seen the humor in such antics.

Lifting up his arm, Alan took a sniff at his clothes and sighed. "Johnny, I need you to stay here and get things back in order. Let the teachers and staff know everything is safe. Pailing...you know how to drive, right?"

"Yes, Lǎoshī. I got my license last month."

"Good,"
Alan tossed the girl a key. "Take the staff van and head to Hong Kong Park. I need you to scout the situation. If you find it's too dangerous to handle, let me know and I'll contact the other Servants." They were probably still out looking for the boy-killer. "I'll join you after I take a shower."

Pailing saluted.

"As for him..." Alan glanced at Ryuuga, then the two eating Masters. "Can you two keep an eye on him? Make sure he doesn't do anything funny until Pythia gets here. She's better with the questioning stuff than I am."

Then the Director left the cafeteria, not waiting to see if his orders were followed.

3. Do whatever you want. He's the Grail War Overseer, not your boss.

Ryuga chuckled to himself.
"Do something funny? I'm not someone who would surrender just to cause trouble. I'm not Loki from Avengers. But on that subject, I am feeling kind of hungry."
Ryuga would then sigh to himself.

"It's been too long since I actually saw another person who would actually take time to speak with me. Any other time, they would fight just because of my appearance."
Ryuga emphasized appearance pretty well, tilting his head down to show the abnormal horns on his head.

Lorina
PqUhi3l.jpg

Lorina's eyes glanced up looking at Alan as her mouth was stuffed with food, not at all caring about how she looked appearing like a glutton sauce painted across her lips her mouth full of food far too much to even fully close her mouth. She continued eating not seeming all to concerned about his words only continuing to stuff more and more food in her mouth devouring it as if she hadn't eaten in weeks. She wasn't really that happy about all the annoyances that as the person who barged in offered to surrender it actually left her rather satisfied. She wasn't very good at the whole 'capture alive' part of things nor was she much in the mood to fight when she was hungry. It was a relief to not have to back up her threat right now. Naturally Lorina wasn't allowed to simply to be content.

As the white pup came over and lifted its leg and began to pee on her boot, Lorina looked down with disdain. She gripped the pistol on her back pulling it free from its holster as her other hand continued to stuff some of the left over of the food. She pointed the barrel straight at the pup about to shoot before it was quickly swooped up from safety. Her look of disdain wasn't hard to see as she slipped her large pistol back in its holster returning to finishing up her food. Upon the mentioning of the command seals she lifted her hand watching as the two marks were added to her own not really certain how to react to it. It wasn't as if she had done anything. Its something she would protest against normally... but in this case given her job she wouldn't say not to such a thing. It would help her do her duties and that was all that mattered to her as of now.

Lorina heard the report to the director glancing over. Dark Rider's words all but were shrugged off in her mind not one to care about such insults at least at the moment. She cared little what some heathens might say, and it seemed all the more foolish given how easy it would be to murder the Master in cold blood without needing to expel much effort. The two really seemed like quite idoits in her mind perfect for one another with how much they spoke inserting their own feet into their mouths. Naturally when the director left things in their hands to watch Ryuga it almost seemed as if he might be tempting fate with what might happen if she was left alone with him. It was as if on queue he showed his hand tilting his head down to show off his horns.

Lorina finished eating using the napkin she had to wipe off her mouth taking a moment to make herself much more presentable looking like a stark contrast to her more gluttonous appearance a moment ago. She walked over Ryuga a certain sway in her hips as she approached. She suddenly grasped her pistol pulling it out from her holster holding the barrel of the large pistol directly against his forehead her finger on the trigger as she looked coldly at him.

"Quite oblivious as to how to hold your tongue I see. It makes me wonder how a sin against the almighty like you might even be still alive at this point. You seem prone to letting your tongue make yourself more enemies." She spoke quite coldly holding the gun against his head not at all hesitating as she starred down at him.

@Hanarei|Oh, you're approaching me?!

Ryuga felt the cold barrel of the gun press against his head, as he would hear what the Zombie(?) Implied.
He would be calm about the situation. While he has been in similar situations, a gun is fairly not that intimidating.

"Quite oblivious as to how to hold your tongue I see. It makes me wonder how a sin against the almighty like you might even be still alive at this point. You seem prone to letting your tongue make yourself more enemies."

"A sin huh?"
Ryuga chuckled at the irony.
"And I'm guessing you don't know when you're being a Hypocrite... Then again, I myself tend to be different from the other Masters."
Ryuga would reply, before he recalled his pendant, which was dangling from his neck on a chain.

"But maybe we aren't that different? I understand you're an undead being, but do you know what I am even, besides the obvious Dragon features?"

If there were any guards left in the room, he would ask,
"Besides that, why am I being held at gun point? I did surrender didn't I? I'm basically your guest, and killing a guest is a big no no in your religion, isn't it?"

He felt another presence, though it wasn't Garm, but rather someone he knew, but was no longer physically present.

Kozue.... If it comes down to it, I'll try using that ability, but I'd prefer not to utilize it unless they break the rules first.

True Assassin
After only brief interaction with the blindfolded servant, Reinhard, who had a good eye for telling whether an individual had screws loose in their head, was beginning to harbour doubts to whether this so unairly adorable that it should be illegal white-haired servant was actually the infamous 'Boy-Killer'. She did notice the Boy-Killer's sudden drop in mood upon seeing her reflection (god knows how she can even see) in a car window.

Then, upon seeing a boy walking with his mother, Assassin witnessed the Boy-Killer snap (mentally) as she took a sudden turn in personality, going dangerously quiet as she moved in to presumably slaughter the boy, and possibly his mother. "Vell zen, zis got ugly pretty fast, vouldn't you say, Caster?" Assassin commented, somehow having found the time in between then and now to be holding a plate of dim sum in her left hand. A blade materialized in her right hand, which to any familiar with antique blades, would be immediately identifiable as a Third-Reich Saber, and specifically, those that were given to high-ranking officers. That is to say, it was clearly not something a valkyrie such as Skálmöld would possess.

As the Boy-Killer approached the boy and his mother, she would suddenly find the business end of Assassin's saber pressed against the side of her neck, inches from separating her head from her body. "Now zen, zis is qvite enough," Assassin warned, still holding her dim sum. "Zis place is vay too crowded to be doing zis sort of zing." While Assassin's words seemed to be aimed at discouraging the Boy-Killer from proceeding further, Reinhard, in reality, wasn't going to go out of her way to stop the Boy-Killer if she decided to go through with it. That, in itself, would provide ample entertainment, even if murdering a little kid would leave a bad taste in even Assassin's mouth.

That said, she wasn't the one doing the kid-murdering, so in her mind, it was perfectly fine.

"Vhy don't ve calm down and talk over dinner like civilized people? I don't get paid extra to clean your mess, you know?"

Franz Schattenberg/Inu
Feeling the spells transfer Inu took a moment to admire the new marks on Franz's arm then tuned back in when the Director started giving orders again and nodded despite having not really paid attention to what had been said.

Still nibbling he turned his attention to his new charge he perked up at the movie reference while enthusiastically petting the dog.
"That's an awesome movie!" Hearing a chair scrape from where Lorina was sitting he watched her approach and flinched when she pulled a gun while also gaining a new understanding of the term 'scaroused'. "Hey there I-" Stopping mid-sentence his head drooped and he swayed back and forth before snapping back upright looking around in confusion. "What?" Fighting off the disorientation Franz mentally scrolled back through the hour or so of new memories that had appeared since he had checked out.

Having taken a minute to catch up he found himself worrying about the large magical energy signature, he suspected that Wukong would likely be drawn to it and hoped his Servant wouldn't get out of her depth. The more immediate issue was having a prisoner that was being threatened by the Master he most wanted to avoid and while he was back mentally the physical traits were still present albeit mostly concealed. "Woah there we're all allies here, well except for the one that's a prisoner who's cooperating for the moment, there's no need for any violence right now." Searching out Johnny Franz waved. "You wouldn't happen to have somewhere we could move Mr Tohsaka where things would be safer for everyone?"

Lorina
PqUhi3l.jpg

Lorina kept a stern gaze hearing Ryuga mention her own heritage. He really seemed to want to push her to just shoot him on the spot. This guy really did come off like the world's biggest idiot. She only glared at him more not at all dropping her gun as if showing she could care less about him. I mean, he was a prisoner but who said he had to have all his limbs really, as long as he was alive right? A bit of a dark thought that rose up in her mind though she tucked it away having some sense to not just do what he seemed to really be asking for.

She heard Franz voice seeming to glare a bit more. She didn't really feel like being lectured to, after all it was a 'prisoner'. A prisoner wasn't likely to be taken in to a nice cushy place and be treated like royalty. They clearly weren't being requested either on peaceful terms, even if this moron seemed to act as if they were. She already had plenty of doubts about his intentions not quite able to believe him just being a complete moron. Those were the type of people who tended to do rather quickly if they were involved in some sort of war. She didn't drop her gun at all as if in some form of defiance. Ij fact she pushed it rougher up against him.

"Personally, it seems a little too fishy to me... I think shooting out both his legs would be a far safer option then just lowering your guard to an enemy. Then again perhaps this heathen's wide gaping mouth is prompting me to act harsher then I need to in response." She spoke out as if trying to reason down herself being too brash... though in truth she was still quite content with shooting him for the sake of shutting his mouth and for safety reasons. Two birds with one stone in her mind. Despite that she did finally pull the gun away keeping it to her side not completely withdrawing it from sight. She wasn't going to just drop her guard completely after all.

"Perhaps a muzzle might be a good option until you wish for him to actually speak." She added on to the request of moving the prisoner somewhere safer.

JacobNegotiations were failing fast. Jacob glanced towards where the target was facing, then returned his gaze back at her. He didn’t have the luxury of letting this bitch get away. She was their target, and even if they were going to fool around with her, they would eventually have to kill her. Might as well be now. He reached into his jacket, and felt around his pocket, before pulling out a pack of cigarettes. He had to mask his intentions as long as possible, until her guard was completely down. He lifted a single cigarette to his lips, then slipped the rest of the pack into his pocket, before looking for his lighter, moving forwards behind his Servant. He finally withdrew his lighter, and attempted to light his cigarette. Once, twice, thrice- each time, he avoided pressing the fork, feigning his lighter’s inability to light up. He groaned, as nothing but sparks spat out from his lighter. “Must have broken something,” he muttered quietly, but just loudly enough that Caster and the target could hear him.

He removed the cigarette from his lips, and approached the lady, just as she turned her attention away fully from the group. He coughed, pretending to not notice the sword that materialised in her hand, and quickened his pace to catch up to her, catching her on her shoulder. Putting on his best lawyer’s voice, he gave a weak, submissive grin of a man who has seen nothing but his office walls, as he returned his cigarette back into his pocket. Or so it would seem to anyone else. His hand reached towards his revolver, gripping onto its handle, as he continued to talk. “Oh come on, miss, don’t be like that. The more the merrier, yeah? Besides, we could use a guide around this place. 我们不太清楚要去那里吃, uh…” he pretended to search his mind for the correct words, “你可不可能接受我们在那里吃吧?”

He turned to his Servant and gave a lopsided grin, still feigning that office clerk act. “I picked up some Chinese back a while ago. Pretty cool, huh, honey?” He thumbed the hammer of his revolver. If she so much as shrugged him off to try and pursue her next victim, he was confident that he would be faster on the draw. There was no way she could make her way to the boy in less than half a second.

That was the initial plan, if Assassin didn't step in the way and put her knife on the target's neck. "Whoa! Whoa whoa whoa! Hey, hey, hey, calm down! We're not in Detroit any more!" Jacob quickly backed away from the Assassin and the target, still trying to play the normal civilian as he pulled Caster back from the engagement. This was going to get dangerous. He didn't want to bring a gun to a sword fight. That always spelled disaster for the gunman. He glanced over at Assassin's Master, as if hinting to her that she should be doing something, as he dropped his hand from the insides of his jacket. He still had more things up his sleeve other than his gun, literally, though he had no idea how fast those were going to work. He was much more confident with his gun, but there was no way keeping his hand in his jacket was going to look anything but suspicious. "Hey. Hey!" he called to Assassin and the target. "Let's all calm down, alright? No need to get violent, Sarah," he emphasised the name, indicating that this was Assassin's current cover name.

"Fishy?! What's so Fishy about surrendering when you know you can't win?! I surrendered because I have no way to take on an army that you guys somehow brought into this building! I'm not a sneaky Asshole like you Masters of Light are!"

Hearing her suggestion of shooting his legs was horrifying to hear, yet he didn't sound the slightest scared.

Hearing her complain about his talking made him smirk.

"Well, considering I tend to be a chatterbox whenever I need to, you don't have the right to take my ability to speak!"

"Perhaps a muzzle might be a good option until you wish for him to actually speak."

"A muzzle?! I'm not a dog, nor am I a wolf, or a werewolf!"
He felt he should bring his heritage up, but that might be pushing it too far. Perhaps just saying the important fact that is currently in front of him?

"Also, considering I am a Tohsaka, The last one alive to be exact, you can't actually kill me because of that can you?!"

He secretly was kind of thankful for whoever was the one responsible for killing his other family members and relatives, but he wouldn't forgive him or her, wherever the killer was.

Location: A dim sum bakery

There were words. Lots of words—like buzzing noises that just wouldn’t go away. A hand on her shoulder that went largely ignored. Not like it had the strength to stop her anyway and the grip was easily shrugged off. It wasn’t until a blade blocked her path that the Boy Killer stilled, feeling edge pressed against her neck.

Crowd?

There was indeed a small crowd that was beginning to form. Curious. Perhaps thinking that a movie was being filmed. Logical explanations for why a woman in a black dress and a foreign lady wielded swords to each were few and far in between after all.

But what did that matter?

There was only one logic that registered in the Boy Killer’s mind at the moment.

She took a step back, then twisted, swinging her sword at the interloper in a horizontal slash.

The sheer force and speed of the slash split the dim sum plate. It would split the plate’s owner as well if she didn’t move. There was zero hesitation in the blindfolded Servant’s movements. No fear even with a blade to her neck.

Death was the only thing someone like her deserved. But, so long as she was alive, she would free others from a similar fate. It was her penance.

“Do not interfere.”

She could see the mother ushering the child away from the fight scene. With Jacob and Caster apparently backing away, she flipped into the air, landing crouched in front of her target. Lifting the squirming boy by the scruff of his neck, she had the blade pointed toward his heart. The cries and pounding of a mother who loved their child, begging for his release, went largely ignored—along with anything else for that matter.

“I’ll make this quick. So you don’t grow up to become someone like me.”

Her grip tightened.

Then she thrust the weapon forward.

A woman’s screams filled the air. For a moment, the boy killer looked at the mother pityingly. Only a moment though. Withdrawing the reddened blade from flesh, the silver haired servant lifted her head, seeming to sense something. Placing the small, still body over her shoulder, the boy killer jumped onto a nearby building and ran away.

  2. Secretly follow her. She doesn't seem too bright. Child’s already dead away and you might learn something else that would help you with the mission.

By the time Pai Ling arrived at Hong Kong Park, parked the staff car, and stepped out, Mei Fan burst through the trees and into her arms. “Whoa! Mei Fan? Are you okay? What happened”

Mei Fan shook her head, tears in the dark haired girl’s eyes. “I-It was horrible. The monster ATE them!”

Pai Ling took a moment to soothe her panicked friend. “What are you talking about? What monster? Who’s them?”

“The missing kids! The biker! Baji and I were looking for the Boy Killer but then we found that…thing...in a cave.”

Pai Ling’s hands tightened around her friend as she looked Mei Fan in the eyes. “What thing exactly?”

“I don’t know! But magecraft wouldn’t work on it! Nothing worked on it! It just kept asking us questions and got bigger every time it ate someone, right Baji…?”
No one was behind Mei Fan. Her eyes widened. “B-Baji? Nonononono!”

Mei Fan broke free of Pai Ling’s hold and ran back into the woods.

Clicking her tongue, Pailing followed. By the time they found Baji, the dark haired boy was slowly being cornered by the ‘thing’. Mei Fan is right. It looks like a monster. She could feel immense magic energy coming from it as well. A demon? A phantasmal beast of some sort?

Drawing her hand back into a fist, Pailing gathered her prana, golden light emitting from her curled fingers. “Look over here big guy!”

She threw her fist forward sending a ball of energy towards the creature. It didn’t even flinch.

“I told you magecraft doesn’t work on it!”

“A creature of mystery?”
Pai Ling pondered. “But even so it has to have a weakness…”

“Baji!!!”

No time to think. Channeling prana to her legs, Pai Ling dashed forward scooping up her frightened classmate and narrowly dodging the claws that swiped at her. Sadly that meant the creatures attention was now on her. So much for secretly scouting the problem. She didn’t even have extra hands to reach for her phone.

“I am one of three. Wandering free I devour those not smarter than me. Who am I?”

“A riddle?”
Pailing avoided the lunge as Baji clung on for his dear life. “Now that I think about it, I’d read about an ancient protection spell. One that masks the user’s identity, shrouds it in mystery, and protects it from harm—the power of the unknown. You can’t hurt what you don’t know…”

“I am one of three. Wandering free I devour those not smarter than me. WHO AM I?”

“I have no idea! I’m no good with riddles!”

The unknown beast didn’t seem to like that response. Pai Ling tripped. Cursing, the she shut her eyes as Mei Fan called her name.

"Oh for fuck's sake-" Assassin cursed aloud in response to the breaking of her precious dim sum plate. "Come on, I paid for zat-" Assassin would begin to whine, annoyed. Perhaps it was for that reason that Assassin didn't feel a single speck of compassion when the Boy-Killer drove her blade into the young boy's chest, and following that, hauling the corpse over her shoulders before dashing off. "Ah, now zis crazy-bitch knows how to have fun." Assassin commented, a quiver of excitement mixed with anticipation in her voice. Having realized quickly that the servant likely possessed some degree of madness enhancement, a wide smirk of sadistic amusement made itself known upon Assassin's expression. Turning back at Caster, Assassin called out, deliberately a little louder: "you recorded all of zat, right? I can not be bovered to pull zis sort of stunt again." Then, as she approached Caster, she whispered into her ear: "take zat voman somevhere else vhere she von't start crying in ze middle of ze street. I'm going to have go have some fun."

Then, without warning, Assassin leapt off in pursuit of the blindfolded woman, still clad in casual attire. From Reinhard's brief examination, the Boy-Killer didn't seem to be the brightest bulb there was, which thankfully, made tailing her much easier. Normally, due to her Espionage skill not concealing her presence, but rather disguising it, tailing other servants were somewhat of a difficulty. But luckily, it seemed as though the Boy-Killer wouldn't be acute enough to notice her presence anyways.

For the time being, Assassin opted out of attacking the Boy Killer, given the ruckus gunfire would arouse in this place at this time of day. Besides, even the battle-crazed Reinhard Heydrich knew that fighting a servant head-on wouldn't be the best idea for her - especially if the Boy-Killer possessed some high degree of Madness Enhancement, which would likely allow her to easily overwhelm Reinhard. Perhaps, if the Boy-Killer were truly dull enough to lead Reinhard directly to her master, and if circumstances allowed such, it would be possible to assassinate the master instead?

Rider of Dark
Hong Kong Park | QuirkyAngel QuirkyAngel

The creature smelled horrible. No, to describe its stench as 'horrific' would be a blatant understatement. If Rider had to describe its repugnant stench, he would not have a single word in his (clearly quite limited) vocabulary that could live up to the vile miasma that seeped from the revolting thing. It was for that reason Rider had originally been hesitant to engage the creature in combat. However, with the entrance and fatal blunder of that woman Rider only barely remembered from the Wu Shu Xue building, the circumstances had changed. If Rider let the woman be massacred by the beast, he would undoubtedly hear a mouthful from Ryuga, which came in on a close second in his boredom scale, losing only to being chained for millennia at Hel's gate. Besides, letting a perfectly innocent woman and child die did not sit very well with the wolf.

When the creature approached Pai Ling after her fatal trip which would have otherwise guaranteed instant death immediately following, all bystanders would feel an immense gust of wind, and see only a black blur followed by an earth-shaking shockwave. Rider had charged straight at the despicable beast, ramming it square in the face with the flat end of his sword. "Human, these blunders at a time like this carries dire consequences. Thou hast best to remember this hereafter," Garmr snarled, scolding Pai Ling for her carelessness. Having spoken those words to Pai Ling, the ebon-clad 'knight' turned to the pitch-black creature, eyes glinting with intense disdain and disgust.

Then, he pointed his sword at the beast, ignoring its incessant questions regarding its identity. "Listen well, vile Beast. I art the Rider of Dark, for I hath no name to give to a malformed abomination as thyself. Here and now, I pronounce thy destruction. Now, step forth and meet thy maker!"

Location: Wu Shu Xue Cafeteria.

“Relax, Ryuuga Tohsaka. We have no intention of killing you.” Ruler’s voice was as calm as ever as she entered the cafeteria, adorned in a red Chinese dress and a green snake coiled lovingly around her arm--a typical aftereffect of activating her Noble Phantasm. Taking the time to put on modern clothing was inconvenient, especially given the requirements to see her visions , but it would be more inconvenient to draw too much attention when going out.

And she had every intention of doing so until Alan requested her assistance in seeing to a prisoner.

She took in the scene before her with mild amusement. Lorina, the master of Saber, had her gun to the prisoner’s head, while prisoner kept talking, heedless of the Burial Agency representative’s growing irritation. Franz Shattenburg seemed to be doing his best to keep Lorina from pulling the trigger while Johnny directed the Defense Squad back to their usual positions. A curt shrug and directions to a holding cell beneath Magical Creatures Department was the only response Lancer’s master got for his efforts.

All in all, a fairly tame situation given the circumstances.

She hadn’t expected the former Master of Caster Dark to come to them so soon, but she also knew that it was inevitable that he would. Along with Rider of Darkness.

It was fate.

“Not unless you give us a reason to. But let’s save that for later.” Motioning for Lorina to put away her weapon, Ruler approached the dragon boy with purposeful strides. After a considering pause, she removed the anti-magic cuffs as well, ignoring Johnny's surprised/annoyed look. There were already two masters keeping an eye on the prisoner and even if he did choose to try and escape, it wouldn't change much. Destiny was already set in stone. Better to meet it head on.

Ruler took a seat a cafeteria bench and patted the spot beside her. "Director Alan told me to interrogate you, but there isn't much about you I haven't already seen. The choices you've made. The choices you didn't make. What you've suffered through as a result of those choices. Every action, and even inaction, has a consequence that moves us towards the future. As the Oracle of Delphi, I've born witness to many events that have shaped and will continue to shape this world so long as it exists. But I'm rambling a bit. Let's start with introductions . I'm Pythia, the Ruler summoned for the 8th Holy Grail War in Hong Kong and these two," She nodded towards Lorina and Franz. "Lorina and Franz Shattenburg, are Masters chosen to participate in that war. However, unlike your war, it's a war sanctioned by the Magus Association and overseen by one of its Asian branches--Wu Shu Xue. This is the office you and your companion have broken into."

Idly petting the serpent coiled around her arm, Pythia continued. "But it also has an ulterior motive--that is to put an end to your war...the war of light and dark...which, according to my visions, will lead the world to ruin." A pause before she continued stroking. "I'm not here to tell you what's wrong or right or even to reprimand you for decisions. Only you can know what you truly want by continuing to fight. I'm only here to give you options. As an Oracle, many have come to me with questions and it is my duty to give them answers from the gods."

Though it wasn't quite from the gods where her prophecies came, the knowledge that it did certainly made the masses feel better.

Pythia met Ryuuga's eyes. "So tell me, former Master of Caster Dark, what is it you want by traveling here all the way to China? What is it you wish to know?"

A strong gust. A powerful, animalistic voice reprimanding her. More importantly, the lack of pain that she'd been certain would follow when she fell caused Pailing to peek her eyes open. The monstrous shadow had been shoved back and standing in front of her, dressed in black, was her savior--the intruder who had broken into Wu Shu Xue and escaped.

Rider of Dark, Garm from Hel.

Pailing couldn't help but gawk. Wasn't he an enemy? Why was he here?

What kept her attention though was how fiiine Garm looked standing there all knight-like and declaring his defeat of the 'vile beast'. Garmr was an evil beast in Norse Mythology, right? A bloodstained herald of Ragnarok. So why was he protecting her? And why did he look so handsome while doing so?

"...Geroff please Pai'lin...Crush'in me..."

"Oh!"
Pai Ling scrambled off of Baji. "Sorry about that Baji. Are you okay?"

"Never better."
Baji picked up his broken glasses and put them back over his nose, adjusting them a bit. "Who is that?"

"Rider of Dark,"
Pailing repeated Garm's introduction. "He's a Servant so he should be able to handle things."

"Servant?"

"I'll explain later,"
Paling dragged her friend to where Mei Fan waited, watching the fight with wide eyes. They were out of their league against the beast. She was out of her league. But even so, she had a job to do. Reaching into her pocket, Pailing pulled out her phone and dialed the number to her teacher's cell. "Laoshi, it's Pailing. So about the problem..."

***

The shadowy creature that was shoved back roared furiously, undamaged by the impact created by Rider of Dark. Gliding forward, black wings exploding from its back, the creature's response to Rider of Dark's challenge was one of aggression. No signs of pain. No signs of slowing down as it swiped its claws at Garm in unrelenting pursuit of its new prey.

Ryuga would turn his head to see another person approaching him. Strange, she didn't look like an normal human.... And she knew his name? Hearing that there was no intention of killing him, he was about to speak when he heard the second part.

"Right.... I'll remember that."
He said, before his eyes widening when the cuffs were taken off. This was starting to make more questions now than answers. Weren't these guys the enemy?

Ryuga sat down and began listening. As she spoke.... Some of what she said was something his previous Servant had mentioned before.... Yet he would flinch hearing her name.

Pythia.... The Oracle of Delphi.
A person who can give prophecies to those who seek answers.... Yet many people ignored them, or followed them.... And Ruler? That's a class he never heard of before.

Hearing the vampires name would make him crack a smile and chuckle.
"That totally explains her issues then."
He then held his head down in shame.
"I didn't even know this was a building for some.... Secret Grail War going on."

To ruin? Is that really true? Ryuga would have a look of disbelief, but then look down before speaking.

"You mean that.... everything I've been doing is going to be for not? My wish to save the girl I love.... And be accepted into the world for who I am? This war I'm fighting in..... I'm not going to be able to make my dream real?"

Tears soon started running down his face. He lost so much.... And hearing the world he was trying to save could end up being destroyed? He could lose it all?

He was feeling for the first time a feeling he never felt... One of Despair and potential helplessness...

Until she told him he was allowed to ask a question, and he would get an answer. Ryuga would look at her face.

Pythia met Ryuuga's eyes. "So tell me, former Master of Caster Dark, what is it you want by traveling here all the way to China? What is it you wish to know?"

Ryuga would think. His single wish may never come to be, or his desires to be accepted... But there was one thing he must ask, no matter what. He felt it was his mission to take, and one he can't ignore.

"Fafnir.... I wish to know if I can be able to save her from the current state she is in."

"Dearie, dearie..." Kids these days. Or, well, kids in whatever days the other Servants happened to belong to. They were always so rash. Quick to cut, chop and kill their way towards whatever goal they'd decided to hold in their hearts. The white haired Servant was mumbling about some truly dismal sounding things indeed, and her comrade had already left her in the dust. She supposed the back lines were her place, considering her Class, but... If she'd been younger, the other woman's abandonment might have stung a little.

"Well, Jacob dear, what do you think? Seems like that Chinese of yours won't be coming in much handy against this one, hm? Doesn't seem to be of the most rational stripe..." She ruffled her hair, ruminated for a moment, before approaching the weeping woman that Assassin had left in her charge.

"Do you think you could chat to this one? Or..." Caster's voice trailed off for a moment. A thought was arising. Her body, on the other hand, still seemed to know what to do. Before either of the two women knew it, she'd taken the weeping mother's hands in her own, shot her a look of shock an sympathy, and had managed to provide a should to cry on. Figuratively. She couldn't actually understand a word that the woman was saying, but given the tone of her voice she was pretty sure it was just the usual cries of shock and terror that accompanied traumas like this.

"Hm. Once she's calmed down a little, would you mind popping a question for me? How do you think she'd feel about a chance to get back at that dastardly woman herself?"

Watching Ryuuga’s tearful response Pythia did feel feelings of compassion. Sympathy. How could she not? She’d seen bits and pieces of his life after all. Not all of it my any means, and she was in no way a mind reader, but she was a heroic spirit—one that used to be human. Therefore she was by no way immune to human suffering.

Especially since she wouldn’t have the answer he was looking for.

Caster of Light had to be defeated.

“There are many ways of saving someone.” From what she’d seen of the dragon rampaging Italy, Caster of Light’s spirit origin had been cracked. The paths to saving her miniscule, needlessly arduous, and wouldn’t even necessarily lead to the good ending. Caster’s summoner was the key.

Ava zu Rassenddorf.

There were other alternatives of course, but none with the greater chance of success than looking for the chimera that summoned Fafnir. If she could be convinced, if she still had the will, then the future may very well change for Caster of Light. But would it be for the good of the world? Pythia bit her lip. Changing the paths of fate now would be risky. New plans would have to be made. There would be new unknown variables added into the equation.

Should she lie?

“I can’t guarantee your success since, while I’m able to access the world’s record to a limited degree, the Servants brought forth by the Caretakers’ grail have a power beyond mine. Their futures are blurry to me—just as they are to the world.”

No. She wouldn’t. Her moral compass as a guide to heroes wouldn’t allow it. “But to have the best chance of accomplishing what you seek, you need to search out Ava zu Rassendorf, the Master of Caster Light. She holds the power to changing Caster of Light’s fate.”

Flicking her red hair back, Pytha stood, looking towards a clock in the cafeteria. “And now I must be going. Our first mission will come to end soon and I get the feeling I’ll be needed. Director Alan should’ve finished showering and gotten the car ready by now. Come with us if you want to see how it ends.”

Flashing a smile at Ryuuga, Ruler’s gaze then flicked to the other two masters in amusement. “Keeping an eye on him doesn’t mean you have to stay in one place you know.”

The black beast raged, its large wings casting a shadow over the park as it chased its prey. Trees tumbled down like sticks where it went. Earth tore up like sand. Yet nothing seemed to stop, or even slow the massive creature down as it relentlessly swiped at its foe. “WHO AM I? WHO AM I?”

Pailing shielded Meifan and Baji from rocks and dirt that flew up, dust clouds forming as yet another powerful impact was made.

Rider of Dark was fast. Yet the black shadow was keeping up. However, unlike Rider of Dark, the creature protected by the power of the unknown didn’t seem to be taking any damage at all. Pailing could only gape as the the clouds of dust cleared. It was a miracle Rider of Dark was still standing. Or kneeling. Pailing rubbed her eyes. A bit of dirt had gotten into them so she really couldn’t tell.

“I AM ONE OF THREE. WANDERING FREE, I DEVOUR THOSE NOT SMARTER THAN ME. WHO AM I!?!?"

“Are you okay Pailing!? What’s going on over there?”

Pailing picked up the phone she dropped. “Still alive, barely, but it’s crazy Laoshi! The thing really won’t go down no matter what hits it! The power of the unknown is really something!”

“Well duh, it’s one of the older protection spells out there, created during the Age of the Gods. Greek origin, I believe.”

“Knowing that doesn’t help me, Laoshi. Rider of Dark is the only one keeping that thing from killing us. You've got to have some ideas!”

“Describe the creature to me.”

“Big, black, has wings, seems to be move on all fours now that it’s fully out of the ground…WATCH OUT!!!”

A white haired, black dressed maiden dropped from sky, her blade slicing at Garm from behind.

Pailing blinked. “…it’s the Boy Killer.”

“Huh?”

“It’s Nanhai Xiongshou! She’s here! She's engaging Rider of Dark! I think she's trying to protect the black thing...and it looks like the black thing is moving faster with her presence as well!”

“…Affirmative. I’ll inform the other Servants and Masters, though I can’t say when they’ll be able to make it to your location. Do your best to keep both the unknown entity and Nanhai Xiongshou contained within the park. You remember how to set up a bounded field?”

“Y-yeah”
The sounds of swerving, skidding, and honks she could hear on the other end were a little unnerving. Just how fast was Laoshi driving?

“Do so. You’ve been an excellent help Pailing. Can I trust you to keep the civilians safe? We’ll be there soon.”

“Of course!”
There was a chuckle before the line went dead. Slipping the phone into her back pocket, the black haired student of Alan Martin looked towards her classmates. Both of them were mages, though neither were as far in their training as Pailing. They shouldn’t be here looking for the Boy Killer at all. Baji especially. He was practically a normie. Working together was essential to making sure no one got hurt. “C’mon guys. I’ll show you how to draw a bounded field.”

Rider of Dark
Hong Kong Park | QuirkyAngel QuirkyAngel

What followed Garmr's heroic entrance, and declaration of aggression against the unknown beast, would be a fight much to savage to be named a 'duel'. Rather, it was a bloody brawl between two creatures, both who would be easily considered monsters in the eyes of men. Each side fought with blazing ferocity that sought to overwhelm the other - a flurry of strikes from the ebon-clad knight would almost seem enough to repel the beast backward, only for a single swipe from the creature to send Garm crashing into the ground. The collateral damage was immense, as evident through the soil dirt that clouded the air like dust.

In between more trees felling like dominoes and explosions of dust and soil, small glimpses of the battle could be seen by bystanders, and the fight was by all evidence, far from Rider's favour. Cracks ran through the armour, which had lost its gleam from the arduous battle, and the Garm himself was bloodied. Gushing wounds ran all over his body, having sustained enough damage to, by all circumstances, put even a servant into the ground. However, the Rider of Dark showed no signs of pausing. Likely a ridiculously high Battle Continuation ability.

"Cease thy squirming!" Rider yelled at the creature, voice laced with rage and visible frustration. The creature sustained no damage, and Rider would soon learn that his mana burst would have little effect, as the Beast knew of death. It did not defy death. Rather, it was simply invulnerable to physical damage. To add insult to injury, while Rider thrashed and raged against the creature, it would continue to incessantly screech its riddle, to which Rider had no answer for.

The cacophony of steel clashing against claws ceased momentarily as Garm had reluctantly fallen back from the creature. "Thy incessant screeching art most irksome!" He snarled. However, his momentary retreat would prove to be fleeting indeed, as a white-haired woman seemingly dropped out from the sky, enormous blade in hand as she aimed to strike the Rider of Dark. Her strike struck true, the blade digging deep into Rider's right shoulder.

Not a single word came from Rider. A brief moment of silence ensued. Had she succeeded? Had the Boy-Killer slain the blood-stained herald of Ragnarok? Butchered the wolf fated to die only by the hands of the ancient God of War, Tyr?

Apparently not.

Without warning, Garm's right hand darted back to grasp at the Boy-Killer's throat, and threw her forward, slamming the servant into the ground. Then, his left hand moved to pull the entirety of the blade out of his shoulder. Apparently, killing Garm would take even more than a timely, and lucky sneak-attack. "A disgraceful tactic!" The servant snarled, now enraged. "Coward..." He growled, "To the depths of Helheim with thee!"

Apparently, Berserker had managed to cause such irrational anger in Rider that in the heat of the moment, he had forgotten entirely on the beast, and chose to kill the Boy-Killer there and then. Following an immense wave of mana, both Rider and the Boy Killer would disappear into thin air.

1586762394654.png
The boy killer would find herself standing in a barren, frozen wasteland, ice and snow as far as the eye could see. A Reality-Marble Noble Phantasm? Their surroundings were blanketed by a ferocious blizzard, bringing an unrelenting cold that bit deep to the bone. Garm unhanded the Boy Killer's blade, and thrust it deep into the snow beside her. "Stand up. Brandish thy weapon," Rider snarled as he brandished his own blade, seeping with energy that glowed an ominous violet. "This is thy end now - a fitting demise for scoundrel devoid of honour such as thyself. Buried under snow, with none left to remember thy name," Rider taunted. He rolled his head, causing various cracking noises before pointing his blade at his adversary.

"Come now, I shall bury thy soul into the depths of Helheim. Pray to thy Gods, for they will not hear thee."

Garm sends you to the Shadow Realm takes an opponent of his choice to the gates of Hel. This completely isolates him and his opponent wherein outside forces besides a Noble Phantasm capable of nullifying another can prevent it. He gains a massive increase in power, stealing 1 tier worth of parameters from his opponent (e.g. from A -> B, C+ -> D+). There his blade is constantly empowered with his mana burst for the duration of the time spent in Helheim. Garm can also call upon the frosts of Hel, creating blizzards in his 'arena'. The Noble Phantasm lasts for a maximum of 3 minutes. If Garm manages to slay his opponent, he keeps the stat bonuses he gained until he either recasts his NP, or some other effect alters his stats. These stats will gradually fade away over the course of 3 days.

That was a master he encountered the day Fafnir turned into that wicked creature. He could possibly try to find her, and force her into turning Fafnir back, but what if she won't do it?

His mind would be in thought, which would be broken by Pythia's offer to come see the end of the fight currently going on.
Ryuga was about to ask what fight she was referring to, when he sensed Garm activating his Noble Phantasm.
It was possible he was fighting a tough opponent, but Garm can handle anything. He is a servant of Ragnarok after all, right?

Still, he should go see the outcome.

So, Boy Killer was in the park now? Very well, then. Archer came to a decision rather quickly: help take her down or capture her. She wasn't doing it for the command spells or the like. No, she was doing it moreso for the sake of her Master and the lives of civilians. Really, if the Boy Killer wasn't dealt with somehow, then she'd strike again until they stopped her.

"Mm. This isn't good." She mumbled to herself, as she set course for the park, letting her Master know through their link as she did so.

Making her way there, she would find any nearby building to make her perch, bow in hand. Even an arrow to slow her foe down would be enough for her at the moment. Drawing an arrow once she did find her perch, she took aim, eyes on the Boy Killer as she moved to attack Garm from behind and fired, aiming for a leg as she did so. Her gaze went to the winged beast them, drawing another arrow as she watched it's movements.

The pumpkin-headed Rider breathed heavily, excited at certain prospects.

"A Berserker-class Servant? The choice to engage is yours, my liege. Even if you decline, I would propose that observing this Berserker would prove fruitful - a preparation for our inevitable clash should she escape alive. After all, a Servant's fighting style and skills are etched into their very core. It is nigh-impossible to alter, which is why Servants need to know what to dish out and when, before all their cards become visible on the table."

He takes a bag with a stylized W out.

"Oh, and uh... I bought breakfast burgers. I know this place is known for dim sum and all, but... well... I got two. The WcGriddles they call it? These ones have these pancake patties and these bacon strips in them. Pure American energy in a burger."

He takes one of them and withdraws both arms into his armor, like a turtle, before the pure ASMR of munching could be heard from his helmet's holes

The Last Post
By the time they arrived, the Boy Killer, otherwise known as Berserker of Darkness, had been taken away into the void of reality marble, leaving only a rampaging confused beast behind. Alan Martin stood beside Ruler, false hand pointed forward into the the shape of a gun. From the tip of the index finger, a black ball grew. And grew. And fired.

Slammed into the black shadow with little effect.

“I AM ONE OF THREE. WANDERING FREE, I DEVOUR THOSE NOT SMARTER THAN ME. WHO AM I?!The creature seemed horribly frustrated that no one would answer its riddle.

sphinx.jpg

“You are the Sphinx.” Ruler answered. And, just like that, the spell broke and the darkness surrounding the beast dissipated to reveal a Greecian creature with the head of a woman, the body of a lion, and the wings of an eagle. “With your identity revealed I no longer have any doubt as to who your Master is. Do you recognize me? I recognize you. It confused me at first—that he would be summoned in Jacosta’s body…but that’s the effect of the Madness Enhancement, I suppose. A horribly cruel fate.”

The Sphinx roared at her, but, strangely enough, didn’t attack. Alan prepped another anti-matter ball just in case.

Ruler fearlessly approached the large phantasmal creature of legends—the Guardian of Thebes after King Oedipus tamed it. Palm outstretched she touched the fur of the creature’s front paw, stoking it gently. “Are you in pain? Did his madness spread to you too?”

The Sphinx made no sound, but she still had enough sense to not attack someone that had answered its riddle. It was still same Sphinx Pythia remembered, granted horribly corrupt by all the lives it had been forced to consume to gain mana. Did that mean the madness was fading?

That could only mean one thing.

Oedipus was dying.

Ruler was sad, yet relieved. The tragic hero could finally rest in peace, free of all the pain he must’ve felt. Fate wasn’t always kind. And, sometimes, it was in the telling fate that spurred it forth. Like waking a great slumbering beast. She sometimes wondered if the outcome might’ve been different if she’d not said anything to either Laius or Oedipus. Whether destiny would’ve taken a different shape if she’d not been so conceited in her youth.

But there was nothing to do about it now. The past was the past. There was only the future to look forward to…a future that may no longer exist if she didn’t play her cards right. Ruler looked towards the eating Rider. “There isn’t any need to worry, Jack.”

She looked up beyond the forest of trees towards the city where tall skyscrapers towered. Where a lone woman with a bow stood like the tiniest of specks. Pyra couldn’t see her. She didn’t have the eyes of an archer. However, Ruler knew she was there all the same. “Archer did her job well. It’ll be the deciding factor in this battle, I believe.”

The pain in her leg throbbed.

There wasn’t any time to pull the arrow out. Rider of Darkness’s assault was relentless such that she barely had the time to counter let alone stop to pull out an arrow. Again and Again their blades clashed. Steel against steel. How long as it been?

2 Minutes?

It felts like much longer.

Perhaps she should call the Sphinx to her. They were connected—Oedipus and her Noble Phantasm. De-summon then re-summon. Simple enough. It would even the odds. No. It would give her an advantage in surviving here in the Gates of Hel.

Pain.

Blood leaked from the small scratches Berserker failed to deflect. If she could even see in the first place, her vision might’ve been blurry by now.

But she didn’t call the Sphinx to her side.

This was the punishment she deserved. This was what she wanted. For killing her father. For loving her mother. For being the calamity that brought disease and pestilence to her people. Even now, she could still hear the screams of the dying. Every time she looked in the mirror, she saw the face of the woman she loved. A woman who hated Oedipus—who killed herself to be apart from him.

And who could blame her?

He hated himself too.

Oedipus didn’t even feel it when a blade slipped passed his defenses straight into his gut. The reality marble dissipatated. Three minutes had passed. His mother’s body fell, landing on bloodied grass. He could feel it breaking apart into the mana it was. And, in his death, his sanity was recovered. He could see it clearly. The human and servants in the background.

Pyra was there too…and the Sphinx, which leaned down to lick his face. His companion who protected his city in his stead.

Perhaps it is true that salvation could be found in death.

“You’re strong. You’re very strong.” Oedipus coughed blood. “Garm, guardian beast of Hell, right? I’m sorry I couldn’t give you a better fight. I…wasn’t thinking straight. Should we meet again, in another time, in another place, I would relish the chance to fight you again in by true body.”

“Haha, is that so? Seriously! You two weren’t even supposed to be fighting in the first place. We’re all on the same team, aren’t we?”

“You—,”

From the trees a red haired, red eyed woman walked forward. Under her arm she carried the unconscious body of a black haired teenager called Baji. The left sleeve of his uniform was ripped open and black markings, like a tattoo, were visible on his bare skin. Black command spells.

“I might’ve helped you, but I had my priorities, you see.” The redhead laughed. “Who knows? With any luck we might be able to summon you again. Though you don’t seem to like this war, and you look kind of weak, so maybe a different Berserker. A better one. So long as our little Master here still lives, Berserker of Darkness hasn’t been defeated.”

“…don’t hurt him. He’s just a kid…”

“Oh, I won’t. He’s a Master of Darkness, after all. Not that you have any right to tell me that given what you've been doing.”
Red eyes looked away from Oedipus to scrutinize the other Servants and Masters present. “So you’re the other group. The Caretaker told us that Gaia had jumped into the game as well, but I didn’t really believe it until now. The war’s basically over anyway. Just a couple Light Masters away until the world is reset and my wielder gets his wi—,”

The flaming haired woman dodged a black ball of anti-matter that flew her way.

“We won’t let that happen.”

“Eh? If it isn’t little Alan? Heh. You humans grow up so fast. It’s only been 10 years and you’re already taller than me.”

“Where is he, Laevatein?”

“If you mean Skirnir, he’s recuperating after those American Idol girls gave his ego a much needed smack,”
The woman called Laevatein chuckled. “He sent me here to meet our new Berserker of Darkness…but it looks like I was a little late. “ She shrugged. “Well… I got the important one, so he can’t complain.”

“If you think we’re just going to let you waltz away w—,”

Fire burned in front of him. A huge wall of fire that felt hot enough to burn him to ash in an instant. It probably would’ve if Pythia hadn’t pulled him out the way in time. He was dealing with the weapon that had burned the world once after all. In the hands of someone powerful enough to wield her to her true potential, she was probably capable of doing it again.

A circle of towering blazing flames separated Oedipus, Garm, Laevatein, and Baji from the rest.

“He’s calling me back so I have to go now, but I’d advise you to pick your side very carefully Garm, Hound of Hell. Assassin of Light is Dead as well as their Master. Archer of Light is dead. Lancer of Light went MIA after her Master died, but she’s probably gone as well. Caster of Light has gone crazy and her Master as given up on the war. Berserker of Light does nothing. Saber of Light has been captured after we killed her Master. The only reason we’re still keeping her alive is the Noble Phantasm she placed on you…and it would be a bother to force Jack to summon another Rider. I seriously don’t even know how he managed to summon you the first time, but, given the amount of circuits he has, I think he might keel over before then.”

Laevatein shook her head. “The only one from the Light side still fighting in this war are the Riders of Light and they’re playing a defensive battle—just defending their territory. It’s really only a matter of time until America burns as well. Caster of Light can be left alone since her death would only mean another Caster could be summoned. We just need to pick off the hiding Masters one by one. Once we do this war will be over, the world will be reset, and the winning side will get their wishes granted.”

Laevatein paused, meeting the red eyes of the Helhound. “You want to be on the winning side.”

Then she, and the fire surrounding them, vanished, taking Baji, the Master of Berserker Dark with them.
