Her gaze was upcast when she heard a familiar voice speak up right in front of her. Her eyes shot down as she let out a surprised yelp, visibly jumping at the introduction. Her startled expression quickly gave way to flushed cheeks and a steely glare at the girl. "Don't sneak up on me like that!" Did it count as sneaking if the girl had just walked straight towards her? Yes. Nevertheless she looked the girl over, noting the more modern outfit she was wearing. She was about to ask where she got it from when those oh so wonderful words filtered in through her ears. "Wait... You stole my money?" Yet, before she could even get properly angry she found herself being handed a wad of cash to cover the outfit. She took the money, staring at it for a bit as the girl praddled on before finally letting out a sigh and tucking the money safely away in her wallet. "Whatever." Wasn't even worth getting mad over at that point.

Looking up from her wallet she looked the girl over again, giving a small approving nod. "Not bad. It suits you. Better than what you were wearing before at least." She walked passed the girl, making her way over to a nearby building to lean against the wall. There had been a few things she wanted to lay out, especially with the girl's presence solidifying the fact that this was all really happening. And with the empty streets here was as good a place as any. "So, I was thinking, and there's a lot of stuff we need to lay out. Like you calling me 'Master'. Don't do that, I don't need any weird rumors spreading about me by having some little kid calling me Master." As she spoke she held up her index finger, as if ordering her issues. As soon as she finished a second finger rose. "Also, what am I suppose to call you two? Honestly I don't even remember your names but I remember they were weird. If you're gonna be sticking around I need something good to call you two." And with that a third finger rose, although there was a noticeably longer pause before she spoke. "I also want you two to... tell me stuff... Y'know? Like, let me know your plans and ask my permission and teach me about the fight ahead, stuff like that. If you're gonna drag me into this and call me 'Master' then you should at least let me call the shots and stuff, right?"

Despite her trying to assert her dominance her tone was more questioning than she had wanted. As if she was the one asking for permission. A fact she noticed as soon as the words left her mouth, and a fact that annoyed her. It's not like she wanted to get involved, the least they could do is actually treat her like she's in charge if they were going to force her into the whole mess. That annoyance quickly showed on her face and before the girl could respond she continued, her tone once again reflecting her agitation. "So to that end did you two have a plan or something? I mean, you have a plan right?" Obviously they wouldn't drag her into a war without having some kind of idea on how to win it.... Her ever expressive features once again shifted, clearly displaying the worry over the idea that her 'servants' were just going in blind.

“Oh, right! I’d completely forgotten. My name is Jack. Jack Randal. The dark haired young man replied as he leaned forward to assess the damage to his Servant’s body. It was really quite excessive. And gross. If there was a reason Jack never stepped into the medical field of magic, it was that dealing with flesh and body fluids didn’t really appeal to him.

Hence his focus on machinery.

Still, he wasn’t completely incompetent on the subject.

“I learned some basic healing spells in the Clocktower, but nothing versed, so if you have Saber's magic resistance...tough luck.”

Placing a hand on the gaping wound between Rider’s ribs (ick), Jack closed his eyes and willed mana through his circuits. The mystic code around his wrist amplified his product and the flesh started to mend. Steadily. It was only basic wound closing spell after all. Meant for cuts and scrapes, not large lacerations.

Jack sighed when he was finally done.

It was patchy work. Skin cells had been repaired at least. He’d managed to recalculate the original spell to heal muscle and nerves as well. However, limited knowledge of the body’s workings meant he wasn’t a 100% certain he’d done it properly either. Inspection from a proper practitioner of the healing arts would be best.

“That should hold for now. Sophia’s better at this sort of thing than I am, so I’ll have her take a look you whenever we see her again.”

If we see her again.

Jack didn’t doubt she would still be alive. The Russian mage wasn’t the type to blow up her own base if she didn’t have an escape planned. She wasn’t suicidal. It was just his former teacher had no reason to continue helping him either. The fact that she’d already done so much for him was a testament to the close relationship they once shared. If he wanted to survive the grail war, he’d have to solve his own problems.

That meant breaking out his old textbooks if he wanted to heal his Servant properly.

Then again, a Servant’s body was a different beast all together. Rider was still well enough to stand upright despite his wound—which would be impossible for a normal human. Theoretically just supplying Rider with mana should be sufficient to propagate the natural healing process, which, while different for every Servant, should be suitably superhuman as befitting of a familiar summoned for the grail war. Unless magic was involved. Of course, it was all still theory. Jack’s knowledge of Servants and Grail Wars came solely from a magic history class he’d taken once. Never did he imagine any of that knowledge to be applicable in real life.

“We’re in one of her hidden escape passages, by the way. I think somewhere beneath London, given the direction I’ve been walking, though I can’t be sure.…”Jack glanced the forked path ahead. “Anyway, we can talk more when we get out of here.”

Assuming he could even understand his Servant when they do. Some kind of Shakespearean-Modern English mix was strange enough, but now a mumbo jumbo foreign language was added in there? Rider might as well have been speaking in Elvish for how little Jack understood. Questioning Rider's verbal choice could come later though. If he had anything important to say, Rider would probably say it in English. He seemed perfectly capable of it.

“What do you think? Right or left?”

He hoped to god Sophia hadn't booby trapped the place, but know her, that was likely the case.

Shani - Berserker of Light
Ortley Beach - Toms River, New Jersey

Hakan joined her and Shani glanced over, catching him looking at her as well. Something was off about him. He was hiding something from her and he was uncomfortable with something. Was it the ocean? Perhaps he was afraid of the water and simply didn't want her to catch on? Or perhaps her was nervous about the up coming flight? Well what ever it was it would have to wait as the very thing they came for had arrived.

A dragon.

Shani actually squealed in delight as the beast descended, vaulting over the railing and racing down the beach. She actually had doubts about Fafnir actually being the creature she claimed to be, her Wisdom skill telling her that the girl was prone to exaggeration, but here was the proof. A whole fucking dragon! Just as she was reaching it the dragon, now in human form, tripped over her own feet and ended face first in the sand. Shani stood there awkwardly, not really sure how to react to the situation that just happened until Fafnir looked up and whined about being hungry and she couldn't contain it any more.

"Oh. My. Fucking. Gosh!" Shani squealed again, picking up the girl (who had almost a whole foot on her hightwise) and spinning her in a circle while hugging her. "How can you be so fucking adorable and yet so majestic and powerful and beautiful at the same time! How are you not illegal?" After a second she set Fafnir down, though keeping her hands on her waist, and looked her in the eye, grinning like a kid on Christmas. "You are a beautiful creature." She exclaimed. There was no flirting, no teasing, and no flattery, simply spoken as the fact the Berserker saw it as.

Hakan mentioned the snacks in the car and Shani turned to face him, still keeping an arm around Caster's waist, and gave him an exaggerated gasp. "Surely you can't be thinking of giving this beautiful and majestic dragon, who just flew across an entire ocean just for us, mere snacks?" Then getting a little more serious, but still happy, she added, "Besides, we could both do with some actual breakfast too. Actually, just before we got off that freeway thing I noticed there was a sign that mentioned food, and one of the things it mentioned something called an 'IHOP'." As a Heroic Spirit she didn't actually need to eat anything but it would help restore her own meager mana stores if she did and it would help reduce the amount she was drawing from her summoner. Plus she was interested in trying the food of this era.

"So, what do yo say Hakan? Shall we go try one of these IHOP things?"

Hakan gave a chuckle at Shani's pure excitement at Fafnir's arrival, and upon the Berserker suggesting they go to IHOP for an actual breakfast, he crossed his arms. "You have a point, so we can go to IHOP to get something, then get going." He spoke up, not having eaten since lunch the day before save for a bag of chips during the ride. Not only that, he could postpone gettimg closer to the ocean for a short while at the very least.

So, with that in mind he'd offer to drive this time, making the trip smooth with a bit of easy peasy reinforcement on his eyes to save him the trouble of getting his hair out of his face, and once there told both Shani and Fafnir that they could order whatever they wanted and he'd pay for it. Soemthing he'd probably regret in the end, most likely.

He wasn't sure what to do about Fafnir's lack of pants and dragon horns and such but maybe people'd just think she was an eccentric cosplayer? Any comments on the matter would mostly go ignored by the Master, and in the end would pay with his credit card after what felt like a good hour in the restaurant which'll likely put a dent in his pocket, but he wouldn't complain, what with the whole world at stake along with the fact he offered to in the first place before heading back to the beach and his biggest enemy-the ocean.

"So, now that we've eaten, I bet you're excited to finally ride a dragon, huh Shani?" He asked the Berserker, a small amused grin on his face. If he didn't think too hard on it, he would be fine.

Rider
A smile formed when Vita complimented the older Rider on her style of choice. "Thanks, it's definitely than what my sister had in mind." She looked down at the bunny. Rider found it adorable to see a cutely drawn bunny on top of a smore. Of course, she didn't know exactly know what exactly was a smore was maybe she should ask Vita for one. Though that had to be for a later time as the subject changed. Rider nodded her head, it was reasonable for Vita to ask such questions. "Fair enough, tell us how you wanted to be referred as." There was a pause when Vita's second question came up. "Refer us to however you want, though if can't make one up then refer to me as Tran and my sister as Phan." There an even bigger pause before Vita spoke again, "Don't worry, we'll notify you ahead of time if any fight occurs." A small frown grew as Vita mentioned the word 'master' to her. "We'd like this relationship to be mutual. The only reason why we call you Master is because it is the title that servants, like us, refer to those who have command seals. We will listen to your opinion if that helps." Rider said as she continued walking

Even though Vita was trying to hide her annoyance, and she was doing a good job, it was very apparent to the Older Rider. Mainly because there was a slight frown, that she could spot, from quick tempered Master's mouth. It didn't bother Rider that much, but still it made it all the more aware over the circumstances of the bond between Master and Servant. Rider couldn't expected much more though, she supposed she was lucky to have a civilian like Vita as her Master. "A plan? Oh we already set it in motion," The Older Rider said as they continued to walk down the sidewalk. "We're planning on conquering this land known as America," Rider paused, "Well it's conquering except without the bloodshed." There was no doubt that her Master would freak out over what she had just said, so she thought adding something else might help. "We're also conquering this place called 'Laramie' if that helps."

How she wanted to be referred as? Wasn't that pretty obvious? "Vita. Just call me Vita." Calling each other by their names was far better than 'Master' or 'Rider' or whatever. However, the mention of what they could be referred to brought a brown to her face. "Tran? Phan? You guys sure do love your weird foreignese names. Whatever, if anyone asks we'll just say you're from China or something." That frown stuck when the girl mentioned letting her know before a fight began. It sounded to her like she had no say in the matter. That fact just being solidified by their 'mutual relationship' bit. She fell silent, walking along the sidewalk as the girl mentioned their plan. Conquering the country? And they already started. This caused her to stop dead in her tracks, quickly facing the girl as she folded her arms under her chest. "No. Denied. You can't force these dumb tattoos on me, force me into some magical war to save the world, and then act like we're equal. That's not what you do with a partner. You didn't even talk to me about your 'plan'. I wake up to find out you want to fucking take over America!" She threw her hands up at that absurd statement before leveling an accusing finger at the girl.

"If you wanted a mutual relationship you would have asked me to get involved, not force me." She brought her hand up, thumbing at her chest as she continued. "I'm in charge. If you two can't accept that then go find some other 'Master' who actually does want to be involved. But as long as you're just thrusting all this bullshit onto me, then I'm laying down some ground rules. You can either take it or leave it." From her limited dealings with these two it was clear they didn't like being told to do. But when dealing with little brats like them you had to stand firm. At least that's what her Sister always told her. Worst case scenario they just can't work together and they run off to get a new Master leaving her to put all this behind her. But either way she wasn't about to budge on this, especially if they were as insane as to want to try and conquer the strongest nation on Earth. No way was she getting involved in that if she couldn't reign them in a bit.

Rider of Dark
Garm3.png

Rider winced as he felt muscles stretched, and skin reforming. He moved his body, seemingly testing everything. He flexed his fingers, bring them to touch his palm, then relaxing them. Before speaking though, he stopped for a moment and said: "If fate continues to deal with us as it seems to, we would do best to leave the charred wreckage of your base, before Skoll and Hati chase Árvakr and Alsviðr over the edge of the world. Also, what is this... clock you speak of? And why would one fill a tower with them? Are these 'clocks' some sort of meal?" Rider spoke, oblivious to the fact that humans were more technologically advanced.

Rider's head snapped up when he heard 'London' "The filthy stone settlement, with all of those people running around, like ants whose pit has been disturbed by a stick?" Rider said, sighing. "The filth should cover our tracks if the air doesn't already." Rider sighed out those words, seemingly disappointed with the state of affairs. Not the situation, just the way the world seemed to be. He looked up.

"Well, I would believe left to be the better path. A fighter would instinctually walk the way where they are strongest. And from what little I was able to hear and see of this Sophia, who I must assume for the time being was the woman who pushed you in here... she seems like the type to orchestrate something along the lines of this. Something that requires thoughts and not instincts." Rider said, seeming to be confident in his choice. He kept his hand on the pommel of his blade, just in case something did lurk down here, and began to step down the path.

"We do have comrades, fellow fighters for our cause, whatever our... no, my task may be?" Garm asked, somewhat halfheartedly.

Clux Ludenberg

With an unsteady hand Cluz reached out to the cat it turned it's head to look at her and she drew her hand back instinctively tears welling up in her eyes. She shook slightly never in her life had Clux pet, fed, or even held an animal. People were scary enough as is animals added a whole level of fear when she considered they literally couldn't understand her and nor could she understand them, it added an extra layer of mystery that Clux couldn't handle. "I will a-accept your offer. An alliance can only prove to benefit us." Once again she reached a hand out struggling to grab the cat as it seemed to wanna look at her hands, and Clux didn't want her hands near it's mouth. Finally with a quick motion she scooped up the cat which let out a quiet 'meow' and Clux's eyes went wide. She could feel the creatures heartbeat the warmth of it's body pressed against her own. It was soft and she couldn't fight the overwhelming urge to pet it and so she did, stroking the cat's head with her hand it purred the sound was beautiful to Clux. "Hey hey Beserker I think it likes me!" She began to cry again not sure what to do with this new found creature that seemed to actually enjoy Clux's company. She then began to panic at the thought of keeping the cat. "Will I have to f-feed it? Of course I will all living things eat....but what do cat's eat. I believe I read a book where I saw one eat a mouse?" Her eyes went wide with fear and looked at the cat with new found fear. "The cat in that book ate the mouse whole, it didn't even kill it before eating it.......cat's are vicious creatures?" She seemed to be asking Berserker she didn't know the first thing about taking care of another life, Clux barely took care of her own. She looked at the cat and it looked back suddenly Clux recalled. "Oh that's right your supposed to lead us to your master right?"

Berserker of Dark with Clux and The Kitty
Berserker seemed hopeful about this whole alliance, though on the inside they were worried due to not having had a chance to size up these allies. Even muttering "Let's just hope they have real warriors." under his breath. Not that Clux could hear as she was too busy with the cat. Then she commented on how the Cat seemed to like her; Berserker was opening his mouth to speak when she started to panic about feeding it. Despite the presence of a easy solution. At the exact same time as she mentioned the entire point of the cat Berserker said "That's easy, you have servants in this household." Stifling a chuckle Berserker then turned into a kindly-looking man and said "Hmm, we interpreted that as 'this cat will take you to us in time' but that's an interesting question." Turning away from Clux and to the cat, bringing themself close to it he asked "So, kitty, when will we be taken to the Master of Saber?"

Jack Randal
“The Clocktower is the headquarters of the Mages Association. A…guild…of magicians so to say.” Jack hadn’t clue how to explain the Mage Association to a warrior from the past. History was about as much of Jack’s focus as foreign language was. That is to say—not much. Though, he did deduce from Rider’s comment that the Servant was from a time period where people still thought the world to be flat. There were other clues of course. Mentions of ‘Helheim’ when he’d fought Saber and all that, but it was easy it chalk it up as more poetic talk.

Plenty of warriors liked to claim that they came from Hell and back. Vikings were especially notorious for boasting.

“As you can see, magic isn’t as grand as it was in your time. The Mage Association is a gathering of those that still retain the gifts of their ancestors. That is to say—those that still retain old blood.” Jack snorted, bad memories popping up of when he was still a student there. “Blood is a big deal to these noble mages who like to brag about their lineage and the power it provides. The older the family, the larger their crests, the higher they are in the hierarchy. It’s an unspoken rule. They’re so stilted in their old ways that they fail to see what potential the ones from the common lineage can bring! Certainly modern magecraft is less potent than the magics of the old, but I believe, with enough research, we can change that!”

Or, at least, he had.

In the end, the politics and power struggles of the Clocktower had been too much and he’d ended up dropping out. Trying to advance magic—combining it with modern technology—especially for a bunch of old geezers who wouldn’t appreciate what he was trying to do for their society, wasn’t worth the effort.

“Sophia was one of the few teachers from the Clocktower that supported me, though her family’s from a pretty old lineage as well.”

Descendant of Grigori Rasputin, in fact. Continuing down the left path following Rider’s suggestion, since there was some logic in the guy’s reasoning—not like Jack’s solution would’ve been any better—, Jack continued to converse with his Servant while keeping an eye out for any potential danger.

“I haven’t a clue why it’s called the Clocktower—you’ll have to ask the leaders of the Mage Association if you want to know for certain— though I imagine its location has something to something to do with it. London is famous for its big clock tower, after all. Though the headquarters is hidden within the British Museum...which does have a room full of antique clocks and watches.” Jack smirked. Then he shrugged. “Regarding the comrade part—beats me. This is the strangest grail war I’ve ever been in…not that I have very much experiences with Grail Wars mind you. That sort of thing is more for Blue Bloods…” Jack paused, remembering the letter he’d gotten the day before. It had offered to assist him against Saber. “Well…we may have comrades. Someone I don't know, claiming to be my ally in the Holy Grail War, sent me a letter yesterday inviting me to meet with them three days from now in St. Paul’s Cathedral. This was before summoning you. Sounds terribly shady if you ask me, but if they are serious, it's too good an opportunity to pass up.”

Some old skeletons…spiderwebs…mold…the path they had chosen seemed terribly musty, but no danger that he could see. After another hour of walking, he came upon a door partially covered by vine-like weeds. A complex-looking magical equation was inscribed on it. Jack rolled his eyes.

“Three.”

He could feel the bounded field surrounding the area shift. Climbing up the dirt steps, Jack took a hold of the knob, twisted, and pushed—“Gah!”

He backpedaled as a bunch of bats flew through the opening. “Geez, Sophia. Clean some of your hideouts, won't you?”

Exiting out of what appeared to be a closet, Jack took his first look at where he would be staying for a while. An old, abandoned warehouse. Lovely. Sadly free loaders couldn’t be choosers and since Saber had made wonderful work of his apartment when she attacked it, Jack was effectively homeless until he found a new place to live. Wouldn’t be safe to return anyway. The Master and Servant pair knew where he lived and Jack wasn’t optimistic enough to believe them dead until their bodies were confirmed.

No, staying where Sophia could find them would be best.

There was even a bounded field set already set up around the building…granted it would need a bit of fixing up given how old it was. Some curious knick knacks as well.

Jack sneezed as dust got up his nostrils. He rubbed his nose. “You know, I would love to show you some of the better parts of London if I could, but my first order of business is to get this place cleaned up. Hopefully there’s a mattress lying around here somewhere…”

Fortunately, he had his wallet with him so food wouldn’t be much of an issue. He could probably afford blankets as well. Then he also needed to pick up his pride and joy from where he’d left her parked.

Only those with money to spare could claim living to be easy.

Course, he probably wouldn’t be alive at all if Rider hadn’t shown up when he did. Jack looked toward the Servant he summoned. “I’m actually not all that great at ordering people around so let’s make this as simple as possible. You can do whatever you want so long as you keep me alive. That’s why I summoned you. It’s your only ‘task’ so to say. If you feel you have other obligations you need to accomplish…well…I guess I’d support you to an extent. Depends on what your plans are. I mean, if your goal is to win the Grail War, I’d help, but if your plans for your new ‘life’ involve murdering innocent children…leave me out of it, please.”

Jack wasn’t entirely sure what heroic spirit he’d summoned into the world. For all he knew, their wish for the grail could be world destruction. But, to be honest, Jack couldn’t really find it in himself to care. His world was dead if he died anyway.

Rider
"I'm afraid I cannot do that, Vita," The Older Rider apologized to the teen. "Our power comes from the people we gather under a single cause, and use that cause to fight. Without the power, we're practically useless." The Older Rider hoped that Vita would listen to her reason. While they could fend for themselves, their power relied on the fact that they were able to make an army out of the modern day people and use them to their advantage. It did not help that one of their Noble Phantasms were essentially tied to conquering a vast amount of cities. The Older Rider bit her tongue before she could spout poison at Vita. If it were any other situation the Older Rider would of gladly torn into the orange haired teen, but that wouldn't help the situation. So, instead she decided to put it into nicer words. "You act as if we wanted to become your servants, but alas the world chose you. If anything blame life for giving you a bad hand, we only came from that result." The Older Rider said narrowing her eyes at Vita.

"Though if really wanted to be in charge, then those marks are the only leverage you have against us," Rider's eyes looked down at her hand. There was a slight of moment of intense disgust and hatred before reverting back to her more neutral frown. "With just a few words, you could order us to do anything with those seals. You could force us to stop conquering, you could force us go across the continent, you could force us to kill ourselves, there are many more possibilities." With that the Older Rider revealed what the command seals could do. While there was a way to transfer command seals from one person to another, she had no idea where to find the solution. The Older Rider was now looking at Vita with an expectant glance. It was a glance to gesture her to do something, anything with those seals. If she chose to use them, they would be upset but nonetheless they would have to serve her, if she chose not to then the plan to conquer more cities in America.

In her head, her sister had finished conquering Laramie. It was at a short notice, but nonetheless it was great. Though she did not reply back as she was currently focusing on the orange hair girl in front of her.

Lawrence and Anna Finkle
Location: An old villa within walking distance of Patras, Greece.

1550995241686.png Lawrence Finkle sighed, head falling back against the large spinning chair that occupied his study. There was no doubt about it. Assassin was dead. He’d felt the moment their connection broke, like a sudden dousing of cold water. One moment he was able to feel her mind and the next…nothing.

It was his fault. He shouldn’t have sent her out alone. He’d been overconfident. He thought her high presence concealment meant she would not be found by the enemy. However, he’d been outplayed. A seer? Who would’ve thought the dark faction had such a powerful joker up their sleeve? Lawrence pinched the bridge of his nose in thought. There was no longer any doubt that Saber and Lancer of the dark faction had met up and were working together.

What should he do now?

How should he combat that?

There was a knock on his door. “Brother?”

“You can come in, Anna. It’s not locked.”

1550995328376.png Anna came in carrying a potted plant in her arms. Likely her latest project. Lawrence smiled. It wouldn’t do to let his sister see him so distressed. “Archer says he’s managed to make contact with some of our allies. Lancer and her master, I think.”

“Excellent! Where is Archer now?”

“Resting in my garden. He’s traveled quite far and the magical plants there should help rejuvenate him somewhat.”

Lawrence nodded. “That's good. With Assassin gone, we’ll be counting on him to gather intel on the enemy. Fortunately, Assassin wasn’t the only Servant with Presence Concealment on our side. His Independent Action skill also allows him to travel further distances without needing you there to supply him with mana…though I worry he’ll end up like Assassin if we send him off on his own. The dark faction has a clairvoyant on their side…”

“It’ll be alright. Archer is good at disengaging from fights. Even if he is spotted, he won’t be caught.” There was a hint of rare firmness from the normally soft-spoken girl. “More importantly, are you alright, Brother?”

“Me? Why wouldn’t I be?”

“I don’t know if you were ever particularly close to her, but Assassin was your Servant…and I know you. Something like this can’t not affect you.”

Lawrence blinked. Suddenly getting to his feet, the brunette flipped his cape in a dramatic fashion before wrapping his dear, adorable little sister in a tight embrace. “Ohhh, how well you know me, Sweet Anna! It is true, I grieve. I grieve what could’ve been a deep and lasting bond between Master and Servant. I grieve that Assassin parted this world alone, with no one by her side to share her last moments. I mourn that I shall never hear her lovely, venomous, voice echo in my mind again. But, worry not, Dear Sister. Even without my Servant, even with the sadness I carry, I will continue to do everything I can to support you and Archer in this war. Nay, not just you, but our allies as well. As the head of the Finkle Household, inheritor of our family crest, and your big brother, I won’t let you fight to save this world alone! For now, we need to prepare to meet our new allies. If Archer told them what he should’ve, they could be arriving any minute! Gather the servants! Let us prepare a feast!”

“We sent them away, remember?” Anna wriggled free from Lawrence’s embrace, partially because it made her uncomfortable, but mainly to protect the plant she carried. “That’s why we moved all the way to this old villa in the first place—to not put our family, or any of our employees, in danger.”

“Oh, right.” Lawrence seemed to wilt.

“But I do have dinner prepared. I made enough for five people when Archer told me they would be coming. I only hope they’re okay with Mediterranean food…”

“Of course, they will!” Lawrence beamed. “Everything you make is first class! Really, Anna. I don’t know what I’d do without you.”

Blushing, Anna followed her brother to the kitchen.

Rider's words just caused her to fume, barely keeping silent long enough to let the girl finish. As soon as the last word left the girl's mouth Vita stomped her foot in anger, shouting loudly as she pointed at the girl. "That's what I'm talking about! You just brush me aside, act without even consulting me, and expect me to be fine with it! Well I'm not fucking fine with!" She threw her arm out to the side, her frustration having fully boiled over into full-blown anger. "You can blame the world all you want, but to me YOU'RE the ones fucking with my life! YOU demanded I get involved! YOU said I was your Master! YOU said we had to fight to save the world! YOU said all these things! Nobody else, just fucking you!" It was fortunate they were on an empty street as her tirade was completely without restraint to the point that the very air around them began to feel hotter.

She quickly held up her hand again, facing the symbols towards the girl. "Fine! If you wont listen to me, then I'll just fucking make you listen!" Honestly, in her current state it never even crossed her mind to wonder why Rider even told her about the power of those tattoos. The only thought swirling around in her head was to either make this girl listen to her or get her to leave. "I order you to listen to me! To obey my every word until the very end!" As she shouted those words the markings upon her hand glowed a bright white. After only a moment the glow diminished with one-third of the symbol being smudged away. She dropped her hand to her side, still holding her glare on the girl. "There. Now you have to do what I tell you. And for my first order I demand that you actually fucking ASK before running off and doing shit."

Caster of Light
Flying over a goddamned ocean | Ian Temero Ian Temero Takumi98 Takumi98 The One Eyed Bandit The One Eyed Bandit

Caster was content.

In fact, content was a mild way to put it. The girl let out a puff of smoke from her nostrils before she refilled her lungs with a hit of fresh air. Well, as fresh as the air could be. It was quite filthy compared to when she was alive, but the ocean air was much better off when placed against the overcrowded cities. Seriously, how the hell did the human race skyrocket in numbers this drastically? Had Caster been allowed, she'd consider trampling a few of those, just to lessen human numbers. The concentration of those things, combined with the sharp odor of smoke and petrol that infested the roads was more than enough to make a dragon grumpy. However, it was worth, all in the name of breakfast.

Indeed, pancakes piled on top of waffles, piled on top on more pancakes, drowning in so much maple syrup it'd probably make any weak-willed human throw up. For the love of god, who drinks Maple Syrup from the jar, and sculls it all in mere seconds?!

A smug grin was spread wide across Fafnir's face as she stepped out of the horseless chariot thing called a car, and let out a contented sigh. "Yes, your offering was more than satisfactory..." Caster mumbled happily as she gazed absent-mindedly into the distant waves. "Mhmm... Yes, when we return to the Land of Pizza, I shall reward you with twice the worth in gold!" That said, Caster remembered the whole reason she was a whole damn ocean away from her house (if one could call it that).

In what seemed like an instant, Caster's form enlarged and shifted into a familiar, draconic form that was much more associable with the great and venomous dragon that was Fafnir. She attempted to lay down on the sand as low as possible and extended out one of her massive wings to the ground for Shani and Hakan to get on. The dragon measured about 60 feet in length, and a little more than half in terms of height.

"Hop on already..." Caster grumbled, now annoyed at the fact that she had more than ten hours of flying left to do. Given, Andvaranaut had more than enough mana for her to siphon on, but it was more of the boredom of flying for hours on end without pause that made Fafnir dread the journey to come. She could only pray that Hakan or Shani had brought food and water, perhaps they could stop at some random island for lunch? Fafnir sure hoped that to be the case. Even a dragon needs a break from flying for what would feel like an eternity.

---------------
The estate was quite large. Gargantuan would be more accurate. If it weren't for the fact that Fafnir could literally smell her lair brimming with riches from miles away, she'd have gotten lost already. As a matter of fact, even somehow making it to the agreed location to pick up Team Berserker was the working of a miracle in itself. Fafnir wouldn't admit it, but she was more than surprised it went with (more or less) no hitches.

They landed on the estate, directly outside a long and dark stairway of stone bricks that extended deep underground. Even from outside, the two riders of Fafnir would likely sense the almost-nauseating concentration of mana that dwelled in whatever lurked beyond the staircase. Fafnir allowed the two to get themselves to the ground before shifting out of her draconic form herself.

"Down there..." She muttered under her breath as she led the two down the stairway. At the end of the straight stairway was a large hallway supported by pillars of marble and stone, beckoning toward two, colossal stone doors. Caster trudged tiredly across the hall, and casually pushed the two stone doors aside; what lied beyond was a trove, a sea of glimmering jewels, gold, and trinkets. "Ava...? Berserker and her master are here..." She called out at a laughably pathetic volume before falling onto a pile of gold coins and promptly falling asleep (or at least pretending to). Fafnir was too tired (or was pretending to be) to do anything productive at that point.

Rider
The Older Rider at one moment was quietly taking all of Vita's anger until she used her command seal. At the exact moment before the command seal, the Older Rider gave a look that was unnatural on a child her age. If looks could kill then Vita would of been instantly vaporized. Of course, that all lasted for one moment. In the next, she found herself immediately deprived of any mana and a constant red glow surrounding her. No trace of anger could be founded within her mind and her expression went blank like a robot. The First Order was along the lines of 'ask before you do anything,' meaning she couldn't actively access Vita's mana, be angered, talk, or anything else. It would require Vita's permission above all else to remove such restrictions. Her only option was to ask, but she didn't have to desire to do so. It was a miracle that she was still standing at that point, given that the command seal was essentially forcing her to drop to the ground.

There was only a blank stare as she stared aimlessly at Vita. Rather it was not directed at Vita, but it was trying to do something that was not possible for the Rider. In the end, she fell down onto the floor like a mannequin, the red glow of the command seal seemingly still in effect.

Meanwhile the younger Rider was minding her own business until she to was affected by the Command Seal. Unfortunately, she was turning a corner, and didn't stop. What was in front of her was a car. She was immediately sent flying and rag dolling a couple paces away as a red glow surrounded her entire being.

Her glare softened, giving way to a more confused expression as she looked at the girl. "Eh?" .... She had expected some barrage of words, or something in return for the order yet all she got was silence and a thousand yard stare. "T-Tran....?" She took a tentative step forward, all signs of anger being swept away by confusion and worry. She didn't just kill the girl, did she? With another tentative step the girl before her collapsed to the ground stiff as a board. The panic evident on her face as she quickly made her way to the girl's side. "Tran! Rider! Oh god, oh god oh god." She wasn't sure what to do, she didn't even know what happened, all she could was hold her hands above the girl as if she wanted to act but couldn't. "I-I just wanted you to ask before fighting in the war, I didn't want you to go and die!"

She frantically looked around, but even still they were the only two on the street. It was at that moment that she realized something. She held her hand up, looking down at the two remaining symbols. If those tattoos caused this, then obviously they should be able to fix it. Taking a deep breath to try and calm herself down she racked her brain for how to even fix this. Without actually knowing what the issue was she didn't know what command to give. Not wanting to risk it failing her best bet was probably to just undo whatever she had just done. To that end she once again held her hand up so that the symbols faced the girl. "By these..." Wait, what did the girl call them? "These... Command Seals! By these command seals I order you to disregard my last command and to live!" Just as before the symbols on her hand glowed a bright white, a second piece of the markings being smudged away as the light faded. She stared down at the girl expectantly, waiting for any sign of movement from or life from the girl.

Charles sat in silence in the same spot he had been while Archer had filled him in on the current conditions of the war. From what Charles now knew this war was bigger then anything he had ever imagined. Not only was he fighting for the sake of his and Derim’s wish but the fate of the world as well. This changed things quite drastically, and not in the way he had expected. A sense of purpose filled him, something far stronger then he had felt before. The drive to win the war was now a roaring flame and he now had an opportunity to meet allies. Yes, if he and Derim teamed up with the other masters of light then their odds of winning increased, but that wasn’t the main reason he wanted to go to Greece.

A mission to save the world from being reset, the dream to be an angel…. It all added up. This was a holy mission Charles had been given and the marks on his hand were proof of his worthiness. He was appointed by a divine being to serve as her warrior, and he had no intention of letting her down. This master of Archer had someway of finding him which meant they might have a way to find the caretaker as well. He would go to Greece, meet his ally, and then afterwards he would be able to find his god, or in this case his goddess. Standing up from his chair Charles’s eyes were filled with the intense determination that was burning inside of him.

A light cough caught the attention of the blonde-haired man and he turned to see his butler at the entrance. “I couldn’t help but over hear bits and pieces of the conversation. I believe departing to Greece was mentioned and since the circumstances seemed so dire, I took the liberty of getting everything ready. Mr. Charles your bag is all packed with all that you should need and two plane tickets have been booked for first class. Please hurry on your way Mr. Charles, and do take care.” The old man spoke with a smile and attitude similar to that of an older relative. Though he had not heard all of the conversation the minute he had heard the mention of the destinations William knew that Charles was going and had made all the preparations he could for his employer

Charles returned the older man’s smile and quickly headed towards the door, “Let’s go Derim. We don’t have time to waste.” He said as he walked towards William. Stopping in front of his butler he held out his hand and the two men shook hands. “Thank you, William. I don’t know when I will be back, but until then take care.” The two broke the handshake as Charles went to head to the car where John would take the Master and servant pair to the Cardiff airport. From there around a three hour flight to Athens would await the pair. After the flight to Athens the two would have to take another plane to Patras. Once there Charles would have to rent a car and follow the directions he was given by Archer to get to the location of Archer’s master.

Rider
The Older Rider blinked as the second command seal came into effect. Slowly getting up from the hard ground, she just stared at the Command Seals that were left on Vita's hand. There was approximately one left. Rider's face contorted from confusion to anger and then settled to slap a hand onto her face. What should she expect next? Vita using her last command seal for something extremely foolish? "Vita, whatever you do don't expend that last command seal," The Older Rider said ignoring Vita's concern. She slowly rose from the ground. "If you use that last command seal, my sister and I will die." Rider turned and looked like she was out to kill Vita, but it slowly softened into a big frown. This girl basically trampled their pride as a Heroic Spirit and possible even damaged their Noble Phantasm. Though maybe it was Rider's fault for not being delicate with Vita, that was a small fault of her.

Her expression worsened when her sister spoke through the telepathic link. "Stupid fucking Master! I got hit by a fucking car, though it doesn't hurt much, I'm so fucking mad right now!" Her sister screeched. The younger Rider now was currently incorporeal for the time being. After she had recovered from rag dolling into a tree, she quickly hid and went incorporeal. While the Older Sister was a lot more calm, the younger Rider was obviously more impulsive. "Phan, I need you to calm-" The Older Rider was interrupted with a solid, "What do you mean calm down! She used a fucking command seal for our fucking obedience! It's kind fucking ironic since we're the fucking symbol of INDEPENDENCE." With that the younger Rider quieted down, seemingly cut of connection in order avoid talking to the older sister.

The Older Rider sighed before glancing back at Vita. "Are there anymore problems you want us to be aware about?" She asked Vita. It didn't matter to the Older Rider anyway. After what Vita had down, she could care less for what she wanted to say.

“Hoh. You overestimate my capabilities, Master. I’m no master strategist. Barely a master at anything, come to think of it!” The Assassin said with much mirth in his tone, as he turned the controller over in his hand. What a weird machine. If he worked backwards, he supposed it would have been in circulation by the time he had died in this world. Not that he would know of it- this form of his was of a time before it even came into existence. “Why, I can barely even work this confounded contraption! The…trigger button has far too little tension in it to properly function as a replacement for an actual trigger, for one.” He set the controller down, and got to his feet, brushing himself down. “Hello there, Saber. I’m Assassin. I think these names are kind of silly, don’t you think? For posterity’s sake, it’d be nice if you’d refer to me as Valk. Nice to meet you.” Assassin nodded his head slightly, but did not offer his hand. It was not his place to even presume to come in contact with other Servants. They were, if he was not mistaken, legends of yore, while he was just some guy they gave a rifle to and told to shoot the bad guys. He wouldn't presume to be worthy of even shaking hands with the man.

That said, however, their power and skill were remarkable. He would be remiss to deny the offer of help. He worked well enough alone, but if Saber were to act as distraction, he would work even better. He was no duelist, no honor-bound warrior. He was just a soldier, and he had to do his duty. His weaknesses meant that he needed to rely on every strategy his humble mind knew of. “Saber, I would appreciate it if you came along,” he said, his welcoming smile fading quickly, “though I will tell you now that I will most likely be using you as bait. I don't expect you to work with a lowly soldier such as myself, but if you can lure any foe to open spaces, I’ll happily make sure they’re ripe for picking. Outside of that, you can do as you wish. I don’t really mind, and I can’t do anything about it either.” Assassin scratched at his scar, and glanced at the door, then beckoned to Saber. “Shall we?” He reached over and patted his new master’s head, and ruffled his hair. “Don’t worry about me, Master. If I were so easily noticed by others, I wouldn't be an Assassin, would I?” He gave a chuckle, and moved towards the door.

Lancer of Light
Location
: Driscoll Estate - Departing
Mentioned: Dante Verren Dante Verren

Lancer stood in thought herself about the situation. The whole situation with the war how it stood was far beyond what she had imagined. She had her own desires at play when it came to the war, but this went far beyond them. The fate of mankind was something far more worth fighting for. Her loyalty to the past was something she would have to put on the shelf. No matter the importance of it to her, she had to ensure her countrymen and those from who descended from them could live on. More then that, her desire to wield a blade meant she had to uphold her duty to protect the innocent no matter what their allegiance might be.

Lancer glanced over see the butler as he approached letting out a cough to draw her Master's attention. He already seemed to have things prepared for the trip, even bothering to get her a ticket. It left her a bit bothered to travel in such a way, though it made sense for her to remain by her Master's side in order to avoid suspicion. The idea of riding 'first class' was a little awkward of an idea considering she was effectively doing her job, but she had to be in close proximity of Charles to ensure he was safe. She couldn't lie the notion of a more luxurious form of travel was rather interesting to her. She hadn't a clue just what it might be like on a plane the very notion of being in the skies was a rather perplexing idea to her still even if the knowledge the grail granted to her allowed her to know about it.

The Servant wandered out with her Master getting into the car. Her eyes fixated over at him as she seemed to finally think it was right for her to speak up.

"Given the nature of this war we should be extra careful. If this is indeed meant to be a team affair with two sides facing off it means there is a possibility of more underhanded tactics being used to push an advantage for the other side. I know first hand how some can be tempted to leverage numbers to attempt to force the other side to surrender. We should avoid standing out and getting into trouble until we find others flying our banner. We never know how dishonorable our opponent might be." She spoke perhaps stating the obvious but feeling the need to speak up. She still wasn't sure about Charles yet. She couldn't help but feel there was some element about him that was off even if she couldn't really identify what it was.

Vita held her gaze firmly on the girl that slowly rose to her feet. Only tearing it away to look down at the overly-smudged tattoo on her hand as Tran informed her not to use it. "Huh? Wh-" Before she could even finish the girl continued, causing Vita's panicked expression to return as she shot a confused look up at the girl. "D-die!?" She jumped to her feet, now taller than her compatriot she looked down at the girl, her face a mixture of worry, fear, and anger. "Why didn't you tell me that!? If I knew it'd kill you I wouldn't have used the damn thing!" Who leaves that kind of information for AFTER someone uses it? "All I fucking wanted was for you to consult me. That's all I wanted. Even if you don't like the whole 'servant' thing that's fine by me, but you barge into my life. Into my home. So even if it isn't as someone below me, you should at least ask for permission simply out of respect since it's my life and my home that you're disrupting..." Her tone softened quite a bit, more defensive as a child defending their actions after being lectured.

But she wasn't about to give up, if there was one thing she had going for her it was her stubborn attitude. And as long as these two just went around and did whatever they wanted, this wouldn't work. Even so she took a deep breath and let out a long exhale, calming herself down and regaining her composure. "Putting the command seals aside, my position hasn't changed. No plots or schemes without my consent. No fighting without my approval. You're banned from taking any action in this war without my approval." She thought back to one of their earlier interactions an thought a slightly different angle might help get her way. "If you can't at least do that, then that isn't really a 'mutual relationship' is it? After all, partners don't act on their own." She turned from the girl, plucked up her schoolbag that she had discarded in the panic, and once again resumed her trek to school. "If you can agree to my terms then we wont need these dumb tattoos anyways." As long as she could veto anything outlandish, like conquering her fucking country, it really didn't matter how any of them viewed their relationship as far as she was concerned.

"Faffy!" Within Fafnir's cave, Ava had been waiting. The wallpaper aside, it really was a comfy place, and she'd very quickly become familiar with why dragons were so infamous for hoarding treasure. That wasn't to say that she was particularly enchanted by the wealth of the place; the first thing that she'd tried to do when Faffy had left was spending her way through the hoard, but she'd not even put a dent in it, so she'd gotten bored of that pretty quickly. Rather, there was just something satisfying about the glimmering sea of golden metal.

"You're back! How was the flight? Was there any turbulence?" A well-rested smile on her face, Ava appeared to Fafnir, as well as the newly arrived Master and Servant from behind a mountain of treasure and gold, observing them from its peak for a moment, before sliding down to greet them.

"And you guys must be the guests?" Speaking as she went, the white haired woman glided right past Fafnir's corpse-like form, only coming to a stop when she was almost nose to nose with the group's redhead. "So we're like, allies, right? I still don't entirely get what's going on, but my boss was pretty insistent that I be all nice to you guys and stuff, so we're probably supposed to get along."

They certainly weren't what she was expecting. Herself aside, when she'd imagined the Masters in her head she'd only been able to picture old farts and scary people like the Boss, so this fluffy-haired kid was a surprise and a half. The redhead she'd gotten an eye-full of over Fafnir's... Hologram thing, but the T-Shirt and shorts were still a surprising addition. Were Heroic Spirits even allowed to dress in modern clothing? She'd had thought there was like, a rule against that or something. Well, never the less, it wasn't like she was going to complain about it. One scary person in her life was well and truly enough, after all.

"So!" She started, raising her arms and giving the pair a friendly clap on the shoulders. "Let's work together. The uh, world needs saving or something like that, yeah?"

Rider
Rider's frown dissipated when she noticed Vita's tone of voice. It had reminded a lot of her sister's childish behavior when they were alive. Maybe that is why they were summoned in this form, mostly because Vita resonated with the younger Rider better. Looking up at Vita, she quietly listened to Vita's request to be listened to. If that was what she wanted, then she shall have both of their ears. "Very well, but we'll have to talk about this later. My sister has told me she just got hit by a car," The older Rider said nonchalantly as if it wasn't something that big. Well, it wasn't to her since she was a Heroic Spirit. It would take more than a car to kill her sister. "Please be patient when she arrives, I'll try to calm her down." The last thing they needed was for Vita to expend her last command seal over something so trivial.

"She'll be here in an hour, or so do prepare yourself when the time comes." With that she looked down the street, a thought had occurred to her. "Hey, Vita. Can we go to a place called a 'cafe?' I've seen a lot of people go in there," The older Rider asked. It was a curiosity that had perked when she had scouted the city. The 'cafe' also smelled really nice when she took a peak inside. Needless to say, it seemed like a place where it was decently populated in the morning. Given that it was still early the morning, maybe Vita would want to go there.

Saber of Darkness
Location: Laramie, Wyoming

Saber pressed a button on the vending, watching as the contraption spit out a canned beverage. Humans did come up with interesting things from time to time. Opening the can, Saber took a quick swig of the fizzy liquid before glancing back at the rented car he’d parked off the curb . His riding skill wasn’t the highest, but it was enough that he could take to the modern vehicle with relative ease. The Himelayas. Italy. And now America. Might as well call him a world traveler with the amount of locations he’d been sent to and all the sights he’s seen.

More than the average human probably.

His Master had everything prepared for him. Fake passports. Money in case he needed it. This war wasn’t like any other. Their allies were scattered all over the world. As were their enemies. It didn’t take a genius to figure out that the first faction to gather and group up would have an advantage in the war. Now, with Valk and the boy, Alan Martin, that made six on their side. Just Rider, Berserker, Archer, and Caster left.

Their Assassin was surprisingly humble for a heroic spirit. Such personality was a rarity among humankind. Oddly friendly despite his grisly appearance as well.

Where was Valk now? Who knows? Saber certainly couldn’t sense him. The Scar-faced Assassin had disappeared as soon as they arrived in the town called Lamarie. They hadn’t even arrived at Cheyenne yet, but there was no doubt about it. A Servant was present. Somewhere.

Could it even be called a Servant though? The mana-level was surprisingly weak.

Tossing the can into a nearby trash-can, the human disguised Saber strolled to where a crowd seemed to be gathering. A car had swerved off the road and slammed itself into the side of a building. There was an injured human inside.

“Someone call 9-1-1!”

“ I saw it! I saw it! A girl was hit!”

“What girl? I don’t see a girl.”

“I saw a girl too…”

“Who cares!? There’s a bloody man inside right now!”

The humans were all whispering, some shouting, but none dared to approach the vehicle. Saber rolled his eyes. His job for now was to investigate for potential Master/ Servants…and a disappearing girl certainly sounded supernatural enough. At the very least, some form of magic was probably involved.

“Is this the girl you saw?” Saber raised the newspaper Alan Martin had given him, pointing out the image of the child giving a speech in Cheyenne to one of the humans that claimed to see a girl struck.

“I…I don’t know, tbh. It happened so fast. And I only saw it for a second…”

Saber sighed. He gave his surroundings one last glance, before shrugging and approaching the damaged vehicle. It seemed he would need the human alive in order to know the events that transpired.

The younger Rider frowned as she left Laramie. Taking a few glances back, she felt like she had noticed a few mana signatures nearby where she was hit at. She needed to get out of Laramie immediately. Clucking her tongue, she sped her way towards Cheyenne. Unfortunately, her bike she was unable to retrieve her bike which meant she had to walk all the way back to Cheyenne. Though, she would have to make a few detours in case that the enemy servants were indeed following her. It was going to be a little bit more troublesome, but it was safer than it was to be sorry. Also, she didn't want to hear her older Sister blab on about what she should of done, that would also be a disaster. "Hey sis, it might take a little longer for me to get back." The younger Rider took small glances around order to not look suspicious. So far no mana signatures.

"Just be careful," The Older Sister said.

The younger Rider nodded to herself and whipped out her phone. She had received one on her way to Laramie and had used it to store her recruits's numbers in them. This was so that she could contact them at anytime. After texting a few messages to them, she stuffed it back into her pocket. The last thing they needed were her recruits getting compromised. Well, it wasn't like they could tell where she was anyway. Her Noble Phantasm made sure that didn't happen. The only thing that she was worried about was their safety. She didn't want them to get into needless danger just because she wanted to recruit them. Sighing, she slowly took in her surroundings. She had to make sure that nobody was following her.
