After informing my master of the plan, we both got into the trolley train. I asked the servants (or my master did) for us to load up some supplies into the carriage, mostly food and drinks, plus some stuff so master could sleep comfortably. We were going to America after all, it would take a good dose of mana just to get there, not to mention execute our goal. I had honestly expected more complains from such a warrior-spirited master, but it appeared as though they had decided to trust my strategies. Without a doubt, such was quite a wise decision on their part. Even if I myself wasn't so wise, I would be able to at least guide him out of the foolish path that plagued so many men, who were blind by miniscule success as if they'd found the greatest nectar.

"Very well now, master, it is time that I explain to you how to operate this. It took me so long to understand this train thing...enough to understand the true heart and notion of the problem. This trolley train will carry us disguised through mana, it will be similar to a servant's spiritual form, other servants may be able to tell we are there if we go too close, but we'll be hidden to the eyes of your average human being. That said, it is a relatively slow, if efficient, transportation. You can accelerate it, but the magic consumption will be expodentially greater, and not just for us being transported, but for those we pass by as well. The mana will be taken straight out of people, even those who do not have much at all, indescriminately, and even on us will be a much heavier burden. But, we will get to our destination exponentially faster."

Caster closed his eyes. Took a moment to breathe in silence. Then gave his master a look of determination.

"Master, the time has come to take action. You've heard my proposal. Now let us see the results of your resolve to come victorious in this holy grail war. Shall we emerge victorious? Or be stopped by weakness? By compassion? Please allow it, by both our honors, that the cause is not by hesitation."

-----------------------------------------------------------

Unsurprisingly for the home of such a careless master, the barriers didn't stand much of a chance against Caster's magic. Still, against a mage that did not possess a servant's innate power, it might've actually served some purpose. Too bad Caster was no such person.

"Master, you go through the back. I shall enter through the front, as being taken on by the expected may lower their guard." Caster suggested, then raised a hand up. "yperaspistís tis Athínas."

A spear formed in his hands with the spell, and quickly adjusted to Caster's size. Caster swung and thrusted it a couple of times to get the feel of the weapon, before heading off towards the Hudson's home.

"They're a group of people that I have recruited during my time here." The Younger Rider said. Trac would be rather angry with her including the civilians, but it was absolutely necessary for them to be included. Aside from recruiting others to their cause, they would give the Sisters necessaries that were needed in order to deal with their enemies. She at least obtains a few mages into her cause, so that would also be helpful. Though that wouldn't be enough. The only thing that could really do would be to distract the enemy servants or somehow kill the enemy masters. They would need a miracle for the latter for the occur and the Younger Rider would prefer if they didn't use their soldiers as fodder.

The Younger Rider let out a sigh, "Well unfortunately, we have no way on contacting them." It was unfortunate that the enemy masters were already gathered together to cooperate among each other. "After we get out of Cheyenne I will sent out scouts to find our allies." That was the plan now anyway. They didn't have much else to do other than claim more territories in order to rank up their Noble Phantasm. Though, weak as it was, it was still strong despite it being at its weakest.

A small call pulled up at the alleyway. "Looks like our escort is here, get in. I'll be nearby." With that the Younger Rider became incorporeal. Her continued existence would only allow the enemy servants to detect them faster. Plus Vita was probably getting tired by now. They had expended a lot of mana during their skirmish between Saber and Assassin of Dark. The escort would take them somewhere far away from Cheyenne and would allow Vita to rest for a little while.

"Nhi, we need to talk."

And here comes Trac. Today was not the Nhi's day.

A group of people she recruited? Even after her demands they were still doing things she didn't know about. For a brief moment she wanted to yell at the girl, but she was quick to keep herself under control. They had far bigger problems at the moment and she'd probably just say it was part of taking cities or whatever it was they did. The mention that they couldn't contact any of the other masters caused her to let out a frustrated groan as she ruffled up her own hair. "That's fucking stupid." As petty as it was, she couldn't help but be mad at the unfairness of it all. The enemy gets to be together, yet it was just her and the Rider twins. How was that right? She looked up as the car pulled up at the end of the alleyway, glancing between it and Rider at the mention of it being their escort.

She looked the car over, not sure about getting into some strangers car. But then, conventional wisdom was kind of out the window at that point. So as the little girl vanished she made her way over and hopped into the back of the car. As they pulled away she pulled out her cellphone, tapping away with a speed only someone her age could pull off. She had to leave some kind of note to her parents, even if it was a lie about staying over at a friends house. Sure it'd only buy her a day but that was better than nothing. Her grip on her phone tightened slightly as she looked out the window. If she could have only known how this would all have played out she would have just gone straight home. "No..." That would have just gotten her family involved. For now this was the best course of action. Looking up from her phone she looked out the front window before shifting her gaze to the driver. "So, you're a friend of Phran's? Where are we headed?"

"Friends? We're more like allies than anything." The man said gruffly as he took a turn. It was a slight surprise that a highschool girl was apparently essential to their leader's success. For what purpose? He did not know. What he did know is that she must be protected at all cost. It was an objective that he would sacrifice his life for even though he had only known the mysterious twins for approximately ten minutes. "Where we're going? By the misses orders we're heading to Lawrence, South Dakota." The man pushed the breaks in front of the red lights. Stuffing his hand into his pocket, he turned on his phone and looked at the map. "From Lawrence, we go all the way to Brookings, unless of course, you want to stop somewhere." The man looking up. "You don't have to go on the trip to Brookings and just drop you off at Lawrence." The light turned green and turned to drive forward. "It'll be a four hour drive to Laurence." The man said as he continued to drive.

The man didn't seem to want to talk that much, only when prompted to by Vita. It was a trip to Laurence that was about it.

However while Vita was having a pleasant conversation with the driver, the siblings were have a small dispute. "What the hell did you involve civilians in our war, Nhi?" The Older Rider said with a cold tone. The Younger Rider, much to her credit, responded with a calm tone. "We needed people on our side. It's practically impossible for us to win this war without support." "At what cost? People have died for our cause that they didn't even know anything about Nhi." The Older Rider yelled back. She didn't want to make the same mistakes again. She didn't want to see a land filled with countless amount of corpses and dead fetuses,

"Their deaths were necessary! Tell me Trac! How the hell are we going to win this war!" The younger sibling was clearly not taking getting yelled at for being 'right' well. "Our allies are scattered, yet our enemies are united as one. Even though we managed to fend off the enemy servants, who knows when they'll comeback? Now knowing that we exist, they'll gather their allies and purge this continent just to kill Vita!" Vita did not deserve to die in a war that she didn't even want to be in. If it was her wish to survive, then at least they can do to is grant it. They were heroic spirits for a reason. The older Rider glared before letting out a resigned sigh.

"Fine." With that the Older Rider spoke no more. The Younger Rider didn't need anymore words beyond the Older Rider's word. She knew what the Older Rider wanted to do. Don't get them into any unnecessary danger no matter how small it seems. It was something that she would have kick herself over out of frustration.

Lancer continued to press Berserker giving the servant attempting to not give them a chance to respond back. It seemed clear she had a general advantage in close range combat despite Berserk's attempt to press otherwise, it was just a matter of keeping the servant on the defense and attempt to exploit any openings she could. She didn't want to give the servant a chance to attack back or retreat now that she was in close range. The words of Rider reached her ears as she didn't allow it to distract her, though it only lasted so long as she was quick to realize his focus had turned to her.

The servant of light turned her head quick to shift her gaze at the incoming rider. She shifted her aim clashing with Rider near the tip of her spear attempting to keep the servant from getting in close. Her eyes focused now witnessing the flames spewing from it in a rather odd display. His initial words caused a look of disdain from Lancer of Light clear she wasn't happy about being talked down to. Her mesmerizing eyes focusing on him as if in some attempt to charm him though it was not at all her intention to attempt to do so as her glare might clearly show. She was quick to strike back at Rider lashing out with her spear taking advantage of her ranged with her spear to strike at Archer though Rider's own assault made it difficult for her to do so as she quickly shifted form the offensive to being much more defensive having two foes at once to contend with added with the space she was affording to Berserker likely opening her to more potential methods of attack.

"A cowards relies upon such bulky armor to fight in. All you do is hamper yourself in exchange for providing yourself a false sense of security you will be safe!" She spoke quite fiercely as she stuck back at Rider perhaps in some part allowing her anger to get the best of her over attempting to to throw in a few more stabs towards Berserker between taking a bit more of a defensive stance. It was far from the idea situation she was in right now. While she would be quick to dismiss his remark there was some truth in what was said. Lancer's clothing was much more defensive then one would think, though it wasn't designed for being in the middle of a brawl against multiple people at once not having the added luxury of being able to fully deflect blows as much as mitigate the cutting potential. Her extra speed that could aid her against a single foe exploiting their weakness would have to be in part utilized to help her deflect.

Lancer had caught Archer's Noble Phantasm fully activating in at the corner of her eye keeping most of her attention upon her opponents as she continued her attack on them. It seemed Saber's attempt to stop him had failed. While she hadn't been able to stop him from using his Noble Phantasm at the very least she was able to distract two opponents... though it was something she would have to be incredibly careful about. She could only keep primarily on the defensive for so long and was left in a rather risky situation as she was. She had to hope Saber could take care of Archer quick enough. Before she could do much more fighting she had been taken off guard as he latest blow with her spear struck Saber of Light's shield. She looked on a bit baffled by it. It only made it worst when they.... kissed? While it was clear it wasn't a normal kiss Lancer couldn't help but be a bit dumbfounded by the display. It only lasted a brief second as Berserker spoke up the two vanishing together.

The female servant jumped back a bit looking to Rider and Archer. Her spear still in hand as she glanced about briefly attempting to make heads or tails of where Berserker of Darkness and Saber of Light had gone. It was clear they weren't there at all, completely gone from sight. It didn't seem they were even outside the reality marble being somewhere entirely different. This isn't good... I'm not sure what it was Saber did nor where it is Berserker took her. She looked to Archer briefly before shifting her gaze to Rider taking the moment to stay on guard. She was going to try and exploit the time as much as she could, she figured Archer's Noble Phantasm lasted only so long so being able to keep things idle would work best in her favor until she could hopefuly figure out what happened to Saber before making any plays to do something drastic herself.

Changwei Shu
Changwei’s breathing grew heavy, sweat dripping from his brow, as the fallen soldiers of Archer’s black army, the ones Saber had killed, steadily came back to life. The mana drain had spiked considerably at that moment. He’d thought he could last 10 minutes at least. However, Archer’s reckless use of this Noble Phantasm was making that impossible. How long had it been since the reality marble was created? 5 minutes? It felt to Changwei like a lot longer.

Only Judith’s support kept the Chinese seer on his feet.

“You should probably tell Archer to stop,” Jack advised in a slightly distorted voice. The young man seemed to have recovered from his shock at seeing his servant kissed by the enemy—though the garish mask on his face made the expressions on his face hard to see. Proof that Rider of Darkness cared for the life of his Master unlike Archer of Darkness. But then, what should he have expected of a Servant clouded in madness?

“It doesn’t matter,” Changwei knew he wasn’t going to die. Not yet at least. However, the future wasn’t absolute either. He hadn’t seen the Light faction’s ambush. Hunching over slightly, Changwei coughed up blood.

What do you mean, ‘it doesn’t matter’!?

“What do you mean, it doesn’t matter?”

Chuckling at the simultaneous reactions from Lancer and Jack who, despite being fairly different in personality from what he’d seen, managed to voice the same thought, Changwei weakly pointed to the area where Saber and Berserker disappeared.

There was a crack there. A long, jagged, black crack.

“Archer’s reality marble is breaking apart,” Perhaps it was because he was Archer’s master at the moment, but he could feel the distortions within Archer’s inner world when Clux’s servant activated their Noble Phantasm. There were only a few ways a reality marble could be dented. An Anti-World Noble Phantasm. A burst of mana strong enough affect the innate bounded field. Or, another reality marble attempting to occupy the same space and creating contradictions. Given that both Saber and Berserker disappeared, he assumed it was the later. “It seems our Servants aren’t very good at working together.”

The comment at Clux contained more amusement than disdain.

“Isn’t this bad?” Jack’s eyes were on the crack that was slowly starting to stretch.

“It’s inevitable.”Wiping the blood from his lips with a swipe of this thumb, Changwei whispered to Judith. The dark-skinned girl supporting him nodded in response. Then a silvery bubble formed around the masters of darkness just a powerful impact landed—the force of which caused Jack to lose his footing and Judith to wince. Still, the barrier held.

The spell that hid her body faded, revealing Rika Santoki—the master of Saber of Light and former enforcer of the association—standing outside the bubble.

“Do you think a flimsy shield will be enough to keep me away?” Lifting her gloved fist from the wall of magecraft, Rika readied another punch. “It will fall like Corvinus’s reality marble—assuming his master doesn’t die first.”

As if in response, an arrow of light whizzed through the black crack and slammed straight into Archer of Darkness, bypassing any defense.

Phoebus Exisotis: A Plea to the Sun God

despite his superb skill in archery, Archer was always one to doubt himself especially when perfection was the difference between life or death. Even under ideal circumstances and wielding the bow of Apollo himself Archers nerves could not let him take the shot against Achilles, doubting himself and being afraid he'd fail at avenging his brother. To guarantee he hit his mark, he made one last plea to Apollo to help guide his arrow and make sure his aim was true.

By asking for help from the heavens themselves, Archer can reproduce this moment in the form of his Noble Phantasm. He shoots an arrow into the sky with with enough strength to pierce the clouds, and not a second later an arrow of light will blast down with blinding speeds an strike any spot he so desires on his foe with extreme force, crippling his opponent. This attack is unavoidable, and due to it being a boon from the gods themselves will bypass nearly all defenses seamlessly without resistance. However, as Apollo refused to kill for one side of the war, this attack is unable to kill and can only create an opening.

Jean Otus Jean Otus

Rika Santoki
The weakening of Archer of Darkness’s reality marble by Berserker’s Noble Phantasm that allowed Archer of Light to intervene was perhaps the one good thing they had going for them since the start of the ambush. Nothing was going as planned. The element of surprise they had. The trap they laid. It all became moot the moment Archer of Darkness revealed he possessed a powerful reality marble. And now, Berserker of Darkness showed he had one as well…

Taking a breath, Rika gathered mana to her fist and once more brought it down on the barrier. She could feel it wavering. This was the first time she’d faced Skirnir’s master in direct combat. It was perhaps the one opportunity she had of eliminating her without Saber of Darkness around.

Yet the new Servants of Darkness were proving more powerful than she’d expected.

Could Lancer fight Archer and Rider ? Could Saber defeat Berserker? Even if Svava died, Rider of Darkness would be taken with her at least. It was a sacrifice that would eventually be necessary to end the war and save the world. However, Rika hadn’t planned on losing Saber of Light so early in the Grail War either. There were still a couple of Dark Servants unaccounted for. She had no idea how powerful the other Light Servants are. Or whether they would work together to prevent the world’s reset.

Therefore, she could only hope that Saber would be able to handle Berserker on her own. Calling back Saber with a command seal was possible, but Rika only had one command seal left, and she had other plans for it.

“You seem to be quite desperate,” Changwei Shu commented. “Plotting an ambush. Using Saber’s Noble Phantasm in such a manner...”

“You know what it does?”

“I do. Though you deviated from who you were supposed to have used it on.”

“What does it do?
” Jack looked between Changwei and Rika. “Hey! What did that winged bint do to Rider!?”

“Saber’s Noble Phantasm, For the Love of A Man, intertwines her fate with that of another.”
Changwei answered.

The gears turned in Jack’s head and his eyes widened.

“Who was I supposed to have used it on?” Rika scoffed. “Changwei Shu. Received a Sealing Designation in 1992 for abnormally high clairvoyant abilities. Looks like it was undeserved. In fact, it looks like you’re about to keel over any minute now.”

“Is that so?”

Rika blinked as the battlefield around them dissipated and everyone that had been trapped in the reality marble returned to the plant infested church. Everyone except for Berserker and Saber. Had Changwei voluntarily chose to stop supplying Archer with enough mana to maintain the reality marble? But why at that particular moment? The answer came when she felt a blade pressed to her throat. Behind her stood Lancer of Darkness.

A frown formed on her lips at the gruff response. He didn't have to be so blunt about it. She wasn't allowed to dwell on it for too long as the mention of their destination piqued her curiosity. "South Dakota? Brookings?" She spoke quietly to herself, trying to figure out why Phran wanted to take them there. She had assumed they'd go to some big city or something, head out to the coasts maybe. But South Dakota? She looked at the driver, but it was obvious he was a man of few words. Not that she was entirely comfortable being with some strange guy on a road trip either. With a small sigh she looked out the window, deciding to give that telepathy thing a try again.

"So, Rider, what's the game plan here? I don't know what's in Laurence or Brookings, but if you have a plan you need to fill me in. Otherwise we need to figure out how we're going to find our teammates." The more she did this the easier it seemed to get to contact her servant. She still hadn't had a chance to just sit down and talk with the twins so she couldn't help but wonder how many other nifty features this master-servant system had. Regardless she'd have plenty of time to talk during the drive, so rather than frontload everything she looked back down at her cellphone and once again began tapping away. This time it was through all sorts of news outlets. If this kind of fighting was common then surely there'd be reports from other places about other fights. That could at least give them a destination.

Within a few seconds, the Older Rider manifested. Sitting down on the other side of the car, she turned to look at Vita. A frown had formed on her face and she seemed deeply displeased. The Younger Rider didn't seem to show up, most likely from their argument earlier. "We're going to claim all the cities from Laurence to Brookings." Older Rider. She looked at the covered window with mock interest. She really wasn't in the mood to talk to anyone at the moment. "The plan is that once the enemy seem to notice the changes from all of the following cities, they'll go over and investigate." She took time to lean back into the seat. If there was one thing that the improved in the future, it was that these seats were infinitely more comfortable. The Older Rider felt like they could sink into the seat.

After letting a sigh of relief from relaxing into the seat, she finally remembered what she was doing. Clearing her throat she spoke, "This is so that we can at the very least distract them long enough for you to get back to Cheyenne." Rider said off handily. "My sister will be the one who act as the distraction, while I will guard you until then." It was technically a win win hopefully. If enemies fall for the bait then they'll successfully get Vita out of trouble for not. If not then they'll have an abundant amount of territories that they can empower their Noble Phantasm. "Do you have any problems with this? We haven't proceeded with the plan yet." The Older Rider asked. She needed to know if Vita was against this plan. If anything, they'll have to come up with another plan in order to fit Vita's needs.

Archer was, reasonably dumbfounded. One moment he had been leaping through the ashen skies, conducting his troops through an excellent encirclement of the enemy Saber. He had been sure that his bullets would rip through her armor like paper, all while she was busy fending off the shots from his men. The next moment she had disappeared in a flash of light, leaving only the acrid scent of magic in her wake. He landed gingerly on the rocky, ashen dirt of his reality marble. It would seem that this war is full of unsuitable, cowardly masters, the likes of whom would interrupt a duel of heroes. Not a moment later the same flash of light appeared to his rear, further back than where the masters waited, though because of the ridge he could not see exactly what happened. All he could hear was chaos, a chaos that would not be profitable to his situation. His army wheeled with him as he once again mounted the ridge to see what had happened.

As he crested the hill he saw the allied Berserker charge at Saber, and disappear. Space itself rippled as they vanished. Archer felt his world quake as the pair fell into their own reality marble. He would have some very choice words for Berserker next time he saw him. A disobedient soldier like that was worthless to a commander. Even so, it did turn things in his favor.

Lancer was now stranded, alone. She did not seem as threatening as Saber, and with the help of his army, he could easily take a small victory away from this mess of a battle. All that was required would be to decide what tactic to use on her. No, he could feel his world breaking apart, like a tingling at the base of his neck. Something was trying to break in, using the opening created by the second reality marble to intrude on the fringes of his reality. His time was running out, and the tide of battle was swiftly turning against him.

Archer decided that he would finish lancer with the tactic which had won him so many battles in life. He lifted his rifle above his head and fired a shot into the air. Gathering all the strength he could he readied himself to shout out the order and was completely blown away.

He had no time to react to the breaking of his reality marble, as the golden arc of light collided with his back and sent him careening across his rapidly vanishing reality, then through church pews, as he reentered the real world. Everything that he had used to grant himself an advantage faded back into ash and blew away, back into the winds of his memory. Half-naked, weakened and afraid, the Archer of Darkness took a moment to look out on the plant-infested church he found himself in.

Half-Naked? Yes, as it would seem that shot which had pierced his reality marble and sent him flying had also blown a hole through his shirt and jacket, removing the back third from existence and ensuring the rest fell from his body in tatters. Had it not been for the thundering in his head and the pain in his back he might have thought himself back in his youth, sneaking out to the old ruined church in the forest to play in the font. But no, he was still on the battlefield. Wounded, though not lethally, by some miracle, and now at a complete tactical disadvantage. The only option left was to retreat.

Putting all his remaining strength into his legs he leaped back to his master's side. He could see how the use of his Noble Phantasm had weakened him. It was disgusting, to an extent. Though loyalty demanded he could not leave him behind, even if he was just another weak human. He picked his master up in his arms.

"Our allies will have to fend for themselves. We cannot remain on the field of battle any longer." He grunted, lacking his usual pride and affability. With that, he lunged towards one of the now-shattered windows, hoping to fall back to any position where he and his master could recover without being harassed by the Servants of Light. "Lancer!" He called out over their shared mental connection. "I'm going to restrict my mana as we escape, cover our rear!"

The redhead looked over as the young girl materialized beside her. It had only been a day yet at that point she wasn't even surprised by the sudden appearance. Though the unhappy expression didn't go unnoticed. Not that she could say anything, she wasn't happy with how things turned out either. Probably even more unhappy than Rider as far as she was concerned. Her friends were almost killed, she had to leave her life and her family behind. But what's done is done, and she'd just have to deal with it. When Rider answered her question she quietly repeated the girl's words. "Claim, huh?" She didn't like the idea, but it was clear that their idea of 'claiming' was different than hers, and after seeing an actual fight she was a little less concerned with semantics.

Other than her little musing she remained silent, listening to the girl's plan. Once she finished Vita let out a small, thoughtful breath as she looked at the floor. Her silence lingered for several long moments before she finally spoke up. "I'm not going back. Not as long as I have a target on my back. The further we get away from home the further they have to go chasing us." The enemy servant sat at their table, he talked with them, he knew who her friends were. It was clear that they couldn't afford to fight them head on, not alone, so guarding them wasn't going to work. The only other option she could think of was luring them away. If the enemy was chasing them they wouldn't be in Cheyenne to use her friends and family as hostages.

"We need to find our teammates. There's no way we can win if they're grouped up and we're not. " Of course that was easier said than done. How, exactly, they'd find their teammates wasn't something she had even the faintest idea on how to achieve. Their only saving grace is she had two servants, and with that in mind she looked over at the girl. "We need to split up. One of you can do your claiming thing while the other tracks down our teammates. I'll stick around to claim things, seeing how you guys can teleport and go invisible and such I'd just be a handicap if I went with you to look for them." She offered a weak smile, fully aware of her position and her limitations. But if they could just get some help they might be able to do something beyond just run and make distractions.

Rider Of Light
The Older Rider looked shocked for a moment before having a small smile. At least Vita was accepting the situation now. "Understood." The Younger Rider would be sent overseas while, she will claim other territories so that they could be stronger. South Dakota had a lot of cities, enough to upgrade their Noble Phantasm by a rank. "I'll leave to find our allies immediately." With Vita's assistance the process will be slightly faster. That being said, the Older Rider will depart into finding the allies while the Younger Rider stayed behind. She was already claiming territories as of now, in fact she just claimed Laurence. If things went smoothly then they'd be able to upgrade the Noble Phantasm twice. Though, she knew that was never going to happen. There were still two enemy servants on the lose and they were going to pose as an obstacle.

Before she left, she looked at Vita. "Vita, if you ever find yourself in trouble and need assistance, do not hesitate to use your last command spell to summon us there." The Older Rider said as she looked down at Vita's branded hand. "Your safety, along with everyone else, is our top priority. Do not hesitate to use it when you need to." With that the Older Rider materialized into blue particles. It was time to depart to find their allies. The Younger Rider had already sent over scouts to search for them. With her out, it'll be faster to find them. With any luck, the Younger Rider's militia will keep Vita safe as she goes around.

The Younger Rider had already departed into the next city. With their situation dire and unusual, she headed over to Ziebach. Vita would be driving through Meade and Pennington. This was so that she'll be nearby if Vita would be in any trouble. That being said, she flipped out her phone and made a few calls. She had a few associates over South Dakota. They would help and protect Vita at the very least, until she arrived or Vita escaped. The plan was sound at the very least. Sighing, she made contact with Vita through the servant-master bond. She had her of Vita's plan prior to her departure. "If you're in any trouble, tell me okay." She sent as she went off to claim Ziebach.

Dov's Interlude

Almost as soon as Hakan and Berserker had left, Dov had strengthened the barriers and finished cleaning the mess Shani made. He moved swiftly, almost silently, and slept a little restlessy. The following hours were spent tensely. Something hadn't felt right to him ever since Shani did whatever it was and left with his son.

So while his son was on the other side of the world making pleasantries and possibly involved with a weird dragon loli and her crazy master; he eventually found out feeling that way was justified. Something was definitely wrong. He had, in all honesty, considered heading out of town for a few days and then come back home. He was in the kitchen on the ground floor, and had just been heading to the threshold between that and the main room of the house when he swear he felt the hairs on the back of his neck stand on end.

For a moment, he considered that he was just getting old. In another moment, he was more than ready to try and set whoever or whatever on fire with simple magecraft. Key word, try.

Ryuga Tohsaka

Ryuga would nod after hearing the plan, soon heading round towards the back entrance of the building.
He came across the door, and attempted to open it, but the knob was not turning. 'Its locked' Ryuga would think, before repeatedly slashing into the door with his lance. It took a couple of tries, but soon there was a hole large enough for him to unlock the door and walk in.

Looking around the place, the mansion was quite beautiful. The Servant who was Summoned here was a lucky person, to be with the rich folks. Of course, Ryuga had money too, but he never really was in a mansion like this.

Then he heard footsteps. Ryuga Quickly readied his lance, prepared to fight whoever was in the building. He would use his mental link with Caster to speak. "Caster, I think I found him! Should I watch out for anything?"

<Master, I needn't tell you that the man which we hunt is none other than a mage, in fact one whose lineage is now strong enough to participate in the holy grail war.> In fairness though, my own original master barely had the mana to guide the grail into summoning a servant for them. I had that to thank, in part, for my summoning, or so I suspected given the fact I was so suited for easing those burdens. Not that that made it in any manner of way any less of an exception to the rule. <It is therefore, if I may be so presumptious, that you would take caution to, let us say, everything. Especially of not revealing our identities, not even my class.>

I had groaned a little at the sound of my master tearing through the back entrance in such a brutish manner, like an animal that tires of waiting for prey to run out of shelter and just claws at the shelter. Even if his body was currently reinforced with magic, such a reckless move could get him killed. More importantly, it could alert the target of the pincer attack strategy we were going for. My face met my palm as I pondered how to fix things in case our aim had realized our strategy. Even as a magus, he wouldn't be able to just vanish into thin air- if he could, our whole purpose here was pointless anyway. Teleporting was probably also not in his arsenal. That left the two traditional options: fight or flight. I could not guess which one he'd attempt, but if he went for the fight, he'd then engage with my master first, who just broken down his door. If flight, then I had to account for not only him trying to escape through any part of the home, there might also be secret chambers like the ones back at the Matoi's homes. I couldn't adress that issue if I didn't find those though, which meant leaving the outside of the home exposed. That I couldn't allow. I stabbed into the grass with my spear and closed my eyes, feeling the mana flowing into me as I prepared the spell.

"Sympósio pagídon!" A line of magic circles surrounded the house as they appeared. glowing in various colors and types of magic. They only worked for beings with a high concentration of mana, like mages, but a simple step on them or spell cast near them would be enough to trigger the spells within. I inspected the door for the joints, then slipped my fingers through the other end to force it open. It wasn't how I'd prefer to make an entrance, but at least there wasn't a large, sloppy hole on the door. Just to make sure, I commanded some of my "familiars" to stay vigilant outside.

"Oh master of this house! I believe you are aware of the reason for our presence! Why do you hide? Surely you know less harm will come to you if you do not force our hand. Come and show me the wisdom of this age! Do not foolishly attempt to hide knowing it is futile." I shouted as I scouted the house's insides. It was without doubt a home for one with great riches, if still lacking compared to the Tohsaka's. I was looking into every closet, under every table, pulling on the shelves and the lamps and everything else. I needed to find those secret passages as soon as possible, if there were any. They could get away at this rate, and even if by some accident they hurt themselves... I realized something important, and sent a message into my master's head.

<Oh, of course, I musn't forget to tell you this. Master, I do plead that you do not bring excessive harm upon the enemy, if possible. It would be rather dishonorable of us if, with the possessing the alternative to return the prisoner in good condition once the "ransom" is obtained, that we should instead maim and tear them until death should take him or we can no longer say we returned him entirely. I shall make the humble request, therefore, that you bring harm in only so much as necessary for their submission. Regardless of circumstances, however, do not kill them. Better we retreat empty-handed than that should come to pass.>

Lancer of Darkness blinked as Archer dashed out the window with their master.

“Escape? Now? Why!? We’re winning!”

Confusion was evident in her voice. Still the bladed-polearm held to Rika’s neck was firmly in place. A naginata? One wrong move and her head could go flying off. To think that Shu had another Servant waiting the shadows. No matter how Rika prided herself on her martial prowess, she wasn’t fool enough to think she could defeat a Servant by herself. Perhaps with Saber by her side, but who knows where Berserker of Darkness had taken her? The likelihood of her being able to kill a Master of Darkness in this situation was slim to none as well. Rika spoke into her earpiece. “The operation is a failure. We’re retreating.”

“Retreat?”
Lancer snarled, golden eyes focused on her captive. “Do you think I'll just let you go? I can kill you in an instant, Cur. Not even a thousand deaths will be enough to pay for your impudence at threatening my Master’s life.”

“You heard what Shu said. Kill me and Saber goes with me. If Saber dies, so does Rider of Darkness.”

“So what? Why should I care?”

“Hey, hey, what are you saying there, Lady? We’re allies, right?”
Jack looked to Judith since Lancer’s master was out of sight. “Right?”

“…”

“It’s a fair trade for removing the Light Faction’s Saber from the Grail War.”

“No, it bloody hell isn’t!”
The mystic code around Jack’s wrist glowed.

“…don’t act too hastily, Lancer.”

“Well, what should we do with her then—,”

Lancer hissed in pain as an arrow of blinding light suddenly blasted down from the skies, through the roof of the church, and slammed into her shoulder, forcing the Servant on one knee. By the time she looked up, Archer of Light had scooped Rika into his arms and neared Lancer of Light. She hadn’t felt his presence at all.

***

Archer of Light wasn’t the bravest of Servants. Nor was he the strongest. However, if there was one thing he prided himself in it was his ability to provide cover fire and escape battle. Neither Derim nor Rider had responded yet, likely still surprised by Saber’s intervention then disappearance. He couldn’t blame them. He was caught off guard as well. To think Rika would go as far as to force Saber to use her Noble Phantasm such a manner. Archer of Light was by no means the fairest fighter, but even he had lengths he wouldn’t cross.

The human in his arms had betrayed her Servant in the worst possible way. It didn’t sit well with him.

Still, letting her die wasn’t an option either. Archer couldn’t help Saber, but he could get his other allies out. Anna should have reached Charles already.

Archer grabbed Lancer of Lights wrist. “I think my fellow Archer has the right idea. Let’s call it a day.”

Killing the Dark Faction’s Rider would kill their faction’s Saber as well.

Archer of Light, Lancer of Light, and Rika vanished as a motorbike crashed through the church door, crushing all plants in its path, and sped towards them.

The alliance was a dud. Jack didn’t trust any of the Masters of Darkness or their Servants. Archer just ditched them when the going got tough. Lancer didn't seem to care one way or another about Rider. However, there was no denying that the Masters and Servants of Light were the enemy as well. Jack climbed onto Lucille. The meeting was over. The enemy had left. He didn’t plan on sticking around when the police showed up. In a normal Grail War, the Magus Association would cover everything up. Bribe the media. Erase minds if necessary.

However, this wasn’t a normal Grail War.

With 14 Servants causing this much chaos in various parts of the world, how much could the Association cover up?

Did it even matter?

“Bet’cha wished you kept on your mask now,” Jack joked to Rider. The mask probably wouldn’t have made a difference in terms of Noble Phantasm effect. A minimal barrier against the lip locking maybe. “I said you could do what you want and I wouldn’t order you around, but…” A command seal faded from his hand. “With my rights as a Master, I order you to do whatever you can to live until the end of this Grail War, Rider.”

A vague command. Perhaps he would have done better to save up the command seals for something more useful. However, with Rider’s life hanging with Saber’s things have gotten complicated. The only thing he could do for now was bolster Rider’s determination to survive. Counter Saber’s Noble Phantasm a bit, for whatever it was worth.

“Do you see now what the light faction is like? Will you join us in eliminating them, Jack Randal?”

“I don’t know. Ask Rider.”
Revving up his engine, Jack drove off.

“These people? Heroes? Don’t make me laugh! Those that curse their lives and death, rotting in their hatred, don’t deserve to enter Valhalla!”

Saber was covered in blood. It was mostly her enemies. They kept coming and coming. There was no end to them. Oddly enough, Saber felt good hacking away at them. It relieved her of her stress. Distracted her from her anger towards Rika. She almost felt grateful towards Berserker for drawing her into his reality marble. At least this way she didn’t have to see Garm’s face. Had time to mask the shame she felt. Saber panted a bit as she sliced into another faceless soldier, her anger driving her forward.

How could she!?

Rika knew how she felt. Who she loved. Who that Noble Phantasm was reserved for. It wasn’t like Svava didn’t understand how her Master felt. She knew of the Helhound. Killing him would be no easy task. But, still.

Did Rika not trust her?

Gritting her teeth, Saber lifted her shield as the tanks fired upon her.

“This isn’t Valhalla!” Flying upward, Saber avoided the bombs dropped by an approaching plane. She stabbed at where she knew the engine to be, slashing at the aircraft until it came crashing down. “And if reality marbles are completely separate from Gaia, why can I still feel my master’s mana pouring into me? Why does our connection still exist!? Don’t try to fool me with your lies, Berserker!”

Locating the original Berserker was the difficult part. He/She blended well with the crowd. Berserker could be any one of the faceless soldiers. Or was he/she all of them? Either way, she had to keep going until either she or Berserker ran out of reserves first. “I refuse to die here in your distorted, misguided world!"

Not until she gave Rika a piece of her mind at least.

I am none and yet many, I have fought in countless battles on both sides and yet here I am, forgotten. Nobody knows, nobody cares, all we can do is wait. At least until that man came along, he promised us hope. A world where nobody is hurt, but I must join the battle yet again. Only this time it's for peace, not some lie. No illusions, just permanent peace. But these fools still cling to their lies, their belief that this world can be changed. Don't make me laugh, the only things that ever change about war are the scale, the weapons, and the lies.
Berserker of Dark VS Saber of Light
Does she seriously think she can deny this world, our very being!? "Us soldiers sacrificed our lives for every reason imaginable, how are we any different from the heroes who lived!? There is one answer, fortune. All those heroes had everything, Achilles didn't go through hardship for his immortality. He was given it as a baby! And he is just one of many heroes who doesn't face real hardship. For they have everything, are everything! And then there is nothing left for us, the soldiers that save heroes and even nations. Time and time again, and for what? To be the lowest of the low? No, we want better. We need better. So we will kill you, along with everyone who stands in the way of our dream!" That should have been enough talking but this bitch wants more. We send everything we have at that accursed Valkyrie and she still has the guts to say it's pointless. We'll-- is that what I think it is? That's the chapel! NO NO NO NO NO!! WHY IS THIS HAPPENING?! THAT COWARD STILL HAS MORE THAN ENOUGH MANA LEFT SO WHY?! WHY IS THIS WORLD FALLING APART!! THAT ARROGANT SABER IS GOING TO RUN!! STOP HER!! "No, I won't let you run!" I scream, even as we deal mere superficial damage as snipers, even as we fall from the sky as pilots. She's nearly out, all we can do now is give her parting words. So we put on a brave face and say, "Hmm, it seems you are desperate to die alongside that fool. We hope your silly love will make you happy while you still last. Till next time." We say as she exits the Graveyard. In about 10 seconds we cancel the marble and seek out Clux, we're going to need to decide on our tactics and if we're going to join this "team" or if we plan on striking it out alone. Well, not alone. We aren't just one hero after all.

Dov's Interlude (Part 2)

From what he could hear someone or something broke into something-probably a door most likely- causing the man to let a soft hiss out at the thought of Intruders. He carefully moved towards the closest window and considered jumping out to either make a break for the woods until he could get to his closest neighbor or stretch of road that was used-be it back road or otherwise-at the risk of breaking a leg, or to have a more open area to fight should it get down to it. Once he heard the sound of a voice drift into the house he tensed, gritting his teeth.

The bastard sounded too formal for one thing, and if it was an enemy servant or master he was going to give Hakan a piece of his mind the next time he saw him-if he ever saw him again anyway.

So, as quickly and quietly as possible, Dov opened the window and prayed to whatever god mastered the universe he didn't break anything or end up dying. That would've been a rather embarrassingly dumb death for sure. Maybe he'd have some luck on his side and could reinforce his legs quick enough to stick the landing and run like hell to the most densely populated area he could come across. He jumped, and while it wasn't particularly too high a jump for most, the drop in his stomach made him a bit queasy as he attempted to reinforce his legs before he ended up a crumpled old man on the ground.

Landing on the ground with a hard thud he could feel a slight tremor go through his legs even with the reinforcement as he landed in a crouch. Cursing mentally he shakily attempted to get some distance from the house in case he had to use any magecraft,. His visible blue eye narrowed.

'I might as well burn the thing to the ground and collect insurance.' he missed mentally, tempted to try and do so. Though Dov was more than sure that nothing was going to go exactly how he'd want it to, sadly.

Ryuga Tohsaka

A mage strong enough to compete in the Holy Grail War.

So this guy, even though he's servantless, could be trouble if he wasn't prepared. He was lucky enough to at least bring a couple of spell gems in case things got desperate.

Don't reveal their Identities. Easy enough. After all, names could be a source of power for both sides. That's a lesson he learned from a book once.

The house was quiet enough for Ryuga to hear the window open. The target was escaping.
<Caster, cut him off on your end! I'll try to tail him!>

With that hasty plan in mind, he would run to the window that Dov had jumped out of, before seeing the target in a crouching position.

<Target is in my sights!>

You needn't have an archer to capture the sound of shattering glass in another room, nor would you need to the knowledge of the grail to understand it: Our target had just made a lateral escape through one of the windows. It seemed there were no secret passages to worry about, else they would have taken one of them (given they didn't intend to fight nor surrender). The trap underneath the escapee lit up into a light blue magic circle, forming a hue of light visible from where I was. Like gravity, the spell would pull down the mage, creating an intense drain of mana within moments. Hardly that could kill him, or even really represent any sort of permanent damage, yet enough to be sure that he wouldn't swinging around spells any time soon. This didn't mean we didn't still have to catch him though.

<Master! Far from me to fail such a simple task. Surely you do not take me to be a man of such limited art? I may not be wise, I may be a fool even, but I am not stupid.> Such indignant commands, and what knew he of strategy, a man born in an era where one could bring up their voice without war. Well, he wasn't mistaken, and from young I knew that the flaws of a general did not mean it was just to desert or disobey that general. So since, even if by sheer coincidence, his commands aligned with a proper strategy, it was only fair I went along with it. Whether it seemed as such or not, he was still my master. I opened the nearest window, and with a thought sent all my familiars in the vicinity to standby in the path and jump on the escaped mage in case he managed to evade myself and my master, an eagle, a badger, a few others hidden among the vegetation. Making sure no barrier of any sort had dispelled that enchantment which made my body lighter and my fall soft, I lept off the window and onto the yard, wherein I spotted the man, and possibly soon would spot my master. I would avoid directly using spells, and instead wield my spear. My master likewise wielded a spear. <Master, I beseech that you do not speak of my class, nor of my status as a servant. This man is not a participant of the holy grail war, merely someone involved in it by virtue of their support for one of the sides, but that alone is enough cause to share as little, or as innacurate information as possible, without of course, bringing disgrace to our tongues by rotting them with lies. Let the lies be only those he fools himself to believe are the truth. Otherwise, give chase without worry, for given the trap he triggered, he shouldn't be able to use magic against you. For now.>

With that said, I gave chase myself. My master might get to our target first, or I might, but with me having a servant's body, and my master having been augmented by that magic item, someone whose magic was disabled would probably not pose that much of a challenge. Nonetheless, guarantees were important, like a bit of distracting taunting.

"Stop now, oh master of this house! You disgrace your kin, running in such cowardly fashion? What kind of man has no love for their own honor and dignity?" I shouted.
