Fantasy Fantastic Desolator: Realm of Hrenna

Momoka looked up. "Hm? Well, I'm pretty used to heat, but I guess it's kinda hot." She shrugged. "Maybe it's because we're nearing the volcano?"

"No... we're still several miles away from the volcano..." Haruto says before collapsing to one knee and starting to breathe irregularly. "I... I can't breathe properly..."

The more Haruto tried to breathe properly, the more erratic his breaths became. He felt as though the wind was trying to choke him. The wind... Wait, the wind! Haruto thought, holding up an empty rune and aiming it at an incoming gust of wind. The wind flew into the rune, and out came a green scythe with intricate wind detailing and a slight green tint in the blade. The scythe's blade was actually quite large in comparison to the scythe's snaith, which was quite thin and wrapped in a green, cloth-like material.

"Kakku..." Haruto murmured as his breathing slowly returned to normal. The scythe floated into his hand as its respective rune took on a green coloration with details similar to the ones etched into the scythe's blade. "The wind has glided into my hands... and its become Kakku..."

Upon further examination, Haruto realized this scythe was much similar to the one in his dream, but with a more normal, streamline appearance. With Kakku in hand, Haruto's internal temperature returning to normal and breathing stabilizing. Even after Kakku had faded into its rune, Haruto was perfectly fine.

"The winds of destiny have made their way to me... to us... Let's get moving..." Haruto said.

Haruto once again lead the group to the dragon. Approximately halfway through the Jungle, night fell once more, and so everyone set up camp once more. Having obtained a new armament, Haruto chose to meditate on Kakku, only to receive the same response about finding a new power on his own. Afterwards, Haruto chose to lie down and await for Momoka to cook dinner.

Momoka boiled some water in a pot and poured uncooked noodles into it. She then started making a sauce and by the time she was finished, the noodles were ready too. She brought the two pots to her friends along with some plates and utensils.

"Okay guys! We've got spaghetti today. Dig in!"

Haruto took up a plate of spaghetti and eats in silence. He looked up at the sky, thinking about what the future holds for the group.

Momoka began eating her meal, keeping the silence, thinking about her dream from the other night. Was it foretelling something? Or was it just stress? What was it supposed to mean? Oh, please, please, please, make it not come true. She looked towards Haruto and Shado. After all, if one of them goes, then the ship can't sail. And if they both go, I'd have lost my closest friends. She took another bite of spaghetti. Well, if it comes to it, I'll do it for them. After all, what are friends for? She glanced at Haruto. You said you wouldn't need me to be your wingman, but it looks like I'm doing it anyway. Lucky you. She laughed a little in her head. I hope our battle with the dragon ends in victory.

Shado heard something in the trees.

"Who goes?!" She yells.

"You've spotted my presence... I wonder, no ordinary human can sense me... Who are you?" The voice replied/

"That you don't need to know," Shado drew her sword, positioning it in an offensive stance.

Momoka overheard Shado yelling. She turned to her friend.

"Is something wrong?" She asked worriedly.

"Oh, Musashi... How pitiful." A mocking voice called out to Haruto, who immediately summoned Zangetsu to his hand and prepared for combat. "You think you know your powers. When you haven't even looked beyond what they can offer!"

"Cut the crap, who's there?!" Haruto responded, anger tinting his usually calm tone.

"There's a presence here, it hides itself from common humans," Shado says to Momoka, before turning to the hidden demon, "Show yourself!"

"My, you're a wolf aren't you, my little one?"

Shado growls, her canines growing, and her pupils becoming slits.

"Don't mock me. Reveal yourself!"

"Common, humans... I see." Momoka murmured, her eyes flashing pink for a second before going back to normal. She looked up, her face cold. "Come out, and state your business."

Haruto pointed his shorter blade at a nearby shadow, his shadow.

"Get out here and show yourself." Haruto demanded.

"Very well~" The shadow teased. A black humanoid figure walked out of Haruto's shadow, then took on Haruto's exact form, except his hair was black with purple streaks, his eyes were an evil brown, and his skin was pale with glowing purple veins.

"You..." Haruto muttered, keeping his shorter blade pointed at the figure.

"Who else~?" The shadow mocked once more. It summoned a shadowy version of Haruto's normal katana, then unsheathed it and pointed the blade and Haruto. "Long time no see, Musashi."

Momoka glanced at Haruto, a little fearfully, before turning back to the shadow. "Who are you? State your name and business." She could sense great power radiating from him, and just to be sure, took a small vial out of her pouch. A green liquid swished around in it. She quickly drank it and placed the vial back into her pouch.

"Oh~? Who's this~?" The Shadow looked over at Momoka lustfully, then sheathed the blade it was wielding. "My, my, you're a beautiful one~ A fair, innocent maiden right in front of you, Musashi. Why have you not taken advantage of this yet?"

"She's not my primary concern, and she's not looking for love." Haruto responded coldly, keeping a concentrated eye on his Shadow as it encircled Momoka, looking her over with lustful eyes. "Why are you here?"

"None of your concern, Musashi." The shadow came to a stop in front of Momoka, a grin plastered on its pale face. "I'm Hayato Yamamoto, Fair maiden. You are?"

Shado herself was facing an enemy of her own. A wolf, the color of ink, came out of the woods.

"You're a siren aren't you? But a different variant, instead of showing me my deepest desires, you show me myself. You make us question our own selves? What do you want from me?"

"You don't trust them, do you?" The wolf nodded it's head towards Haruto and Momoka, "Go on. Stop hiding."

Shado's hair turns the same color as the coat of the wolf. Ink black. Her eyes continue to morph into slits, and starting to glow yellow.

"I TOLD YOU TO STOP MOCKING ME! WHAT DO YOU WANT FROM ME!"

"Simple. I want to show you, show you your memories from the past. Show you why you woke up in the fields. Why you have ears on the top of your head."

Shado was taken aback, but regains her composure.

"How do I know I can trust you?"

Momoka glared at Yamamoto. "My name is Momoka Araki. I apologize, but I do not intend on becoming an item, or a sex slave, for that matter. I've had my share of love, and it is not an experience I wish to re-enact." Her eyes glowed full-on pink now, and she showed no sign of her normal warmth. "I have yet to hear what you want from us."

"Oh, it's nothing Araki~chan~" Hayato said teasingly. "While you are quite beautiful, you're not my type from what I've seen through Haruto's adventures. I only exist because of Haruto's internal darkness. You see, the reason why he seems so cold, so reluctant to share his feelings with anyone, is because of how shy he really is. His confidence doesn't go towards making friends, but instead towards combat."

"Again, why are you here, Hayato?" Haruto asked once more.

"I just came out to check on your progress, that's all. You're half way done getting those new weapons of yours. The Wind, Water, Snow, and Moon are yours to wield. The Fire, Earth, Crystal and Sun are yet to be acquired." Hayato responded before looking over at Emy. "Hm, she seems too innocent for my tastes..."

"Crystal? I didn't intend for a crystalline weapon..." Haruto continued directing his focus at Hayato, though he was confused within.

"Having an odd number of weapons is a bit annoying. Better to have eight than seven." Hayato responded.

"Where would I find a decent source for Crystal?" Haruto inquired.

"You can figure that out yourself. Anyways, good luck with this group, Haruto. One of them may be your future wife~" Hayato teased once more before returning to Haruto's shadow and fading away.

"Damn him..." Haruto dematerialized Zangetsu and sat back down, questioning what Hayato had told him. Future wife? Ha, doubt it... He thought.

Momoka hmphed. "Shit, I wasted one of my potions." She glanced at Haruto, her eyes back to normal. "You know, maybe we should help Shado...?"

Shado comes closer to wolf, "Tell me, why should I trust you?"

"You have nothing to lose."

Shado turns around, noticing the others coming towards her. She turns around, and growls.

"Don't bother. I can handle this."

Haruto backed up, nodding slowly as he let Zangetsu fade and summoned his longsword, stabbing it into the ground and leaning on its hilt.

"Very well... I trust you can take care of yourself."
