Fantasy Faereach: Chaos

Leslie Groth

Leslie looked around the bar, realizing now the reason that it had seemed so quiet to begin with just as the bartender -Crimson- had said. She raised her glass as if to meet his toast and took a hefty swig from it before setting it back down on the wood counter top. She then looked back up at him, remembering that he had asked her a question. "Oh, sorry I forgot. I'm Leslie..." She revealed finally, smiling lightly at him. "Though, if you want, you could call me Les." She suggested, hoping that saying so wouldn't come off as too odd or strange. The man seemed decent enough and treated her nicely, as well she sensed no evil intent from him. "Tell me, what do you, say, do for fun around here or on your spare time?" Leslie inquired, genuinely curious since she had absolutely no idea where anything was or where to go, what to do. Sigh, the benefits of being the new girl to a city. She thought. A thought then ran through her head then; what if she had asked Crimson to be a guide? As strange as it sound she didn't necessarily have anyone really to turn to, she was too old for school, not that she really needed it, and she was about as oblivious as a pig in the slaughterhouse, as gruesome as that seemed. Of course how could she ask such a thing of someone she just met? He had a job, a bar to run at that, and even if he was down for it she would still likely feel bad for taking time from his day to ask a favor of her curiosity. Although it never hurts to ask, right?

Hitsugya Udaza

Completely oblivious to the idea of Erik being flustered by a the girl just nearby by the barista, he just decided to play with a spark in his hand for the time being. Watching the black spark of electricity dance along his palm and around his fingertips, he sometimes wondered what would happen if he pushed his powers limits beyond that which he were capable of. Of course he knew what might happen but there was always the chance it might not happen, then again either way he wouldn't want to find out, not while in Faereach at least. Looking up at Vix as he called out to Erik, he thought to question Vix as to what he was referring to but then immediately realized he hadn't really cared to begin with, so why ask? It was at times like these he wondered why he was even around, never really being one for social interactions. Hell, half the time he spent in the grasslands or the Enclave at night flying or practicing. Talk about sociopathic... At mention of Vix's recap of the three of them's plan to go to this quest Hitsu nodded in unison "All right," in a rather monotone. Taking a moment to process Vix's reference to teleportation he then turned his head back to him and cocked an eyebrow, slightly surprised. "Wait what the hell? You can teleport?! And here I was thinking that you were just some fluffy fox that frolicked in the medows." Hitsu joked, still surprised though by the fact he could teleport. He had been trying to get the hang of Pyroportation for the past few months to no avail and here this guy was that could literally just pop in anywhere. Furthermore, he then realized that Erik hadn't even asked them what they wanted. Turning his head to look over his shoulder at Erik he called out to him. "Hey, mind getting me a cold brew ice coffee?" He asked, returning his attention back to Vix.

Erik stopped in his tracks as he heard Vix yell at him- something about a-a what? What was he talking about? Curious, he looked back at him, hoping to convey the fact that he didn't understand a single word that had been spoken. Then Hitsu's order rang out over the background noise of the café, and Erik's scattered thoughts formulated a less-than-ideal plan. He quickly approached one of the baristas, stuttered through the order of an iced coffee- That was what he called for, right?- and a chocolate chip muffin, then made the ultimately bravest move of his life- in fact, he wasn't sure just why he was doing it to begin with. He walked away from the barista to approach the girl, took a deep breath, and stammered "I-I'm so-sorry if my-if my ob-observing made you uncom-made you uncomfortable." Woo! Yeah! An apology for being weird! Much better idea than sprinting past her!

Ren
Keeping a bored and nonchalant expression, Ren focused on the panther growling at him. His mouth moved for a brief second into a smirk, but his face quickly returned to its nature bored expression. “Relax cat. I am not here to cause any trouble. I am new to this city and end up getting completely lost. I ended up getting turned around and when I caught the scent of the Orc, I figure I would come over and ask for assistance. But I guess asking creatures in this city to be polite and helping is asking too much.” He spoke with such a calmness, that it almost seemed like he was mocking the duo. He continued his approach, not really caring about the panthers warning growl. He looked at the Orc with a cold expression. “I guess I address you Orc, since your friend here seems rather rude. Would you mind helping a newcomer out?” Ren didn’t feel threatened or scared of either of them. He just hoped that he didn’t pick someone who would be stupid enough to pick a fight with him. Vix

Vix watched as hitsugya listened to him, with a rather distant and bored expression on his face. This guy seems to not be the most social butterfly, but I can't help but find him interesting. Vix was rather surprised when he let out an outburst. Chuckling his reply “I can be a fluff fox if you want. As for teleportation, yes, I do have an affinity for teleportation. Actually, when it comes to magic, most kitsunes excel. Anyway, I don’t usually use anything too powerful when it comes to teleportation. I could always teach you if you want. And trust me this fluff fox can do more than just frolic through a meadow.” He had this mocking grin on his face as he replied to hitsugya. Vix had a smirk on his face as he saw Erik approach the girl. Seems we have us a Romeo in our mitts. A rather awkward and nervous Romeo. Giving a mischievous look two hits and then a wink he yells at Erik. “Erik stops flirting with pretty girls. We need to get moving, if you like her so much just invite her along. Because me and Hitsu aren’t going to sit around bored just case you want to talk to a pretty girl.” Vix just couldn’t help his mischievous and fox nature. Feeling the need to tease Erik was. After Leslie accpeted his toast, Crimson brought the glass up to his mouth and threw his head back taking it all in. He placed his glass on the counter and turned it upside down. "Leslie huh?? Nice name." He grabbed his rag and started cleaning out his glass, though when Leslie asked about his other activities he stopped. He placed his glassed and took a second to think before he spoke. He tried to figure out the best way to explain without it sounding to crazy. "On my free time, I go to the Emerald Enclave and fight the creatures there. It's fun, and helps me reveal some anger. It's pretty dangerous there, so only special people go there. Special as in people with powers or certain skills." He explained, hoping that he gave enough detail about the Enclave. If Leslie found interest in it, he only hopes she can take care of herself there.

"She's an animal friend! Of course she's going to be worried around another who appeared! Of course I can help you Kitsune, where'd you need to go?" He asked politely and patted the man on the back with one of his monstrous hands.

"I know this place pretty well, passed here many times and explored among my travels! I'm also thinking about heading on a quest that starts in the Emerald Enclave! Want to join?" The Orc remembered the strange bird and gave a smile at the Kitsune through his huge teeth.

"Miss Displacer Beast may tag along too," White chuckled as he smiled at him. In reality, he was weary but he carried himself well and didnt seem to want to pick a fight. The Orc was untrusting, whay could he say? Travelling for years only did that to you.

Ren
Feeling the thud of the orcs hand, Ren wasn't exactly pleased with his new company. "I guess I shouldn't expect much from an animal. Anyway orc, I'm looking for a place to stay and a way to get income." Ren open one of his fans and began to cool his face down. I can't believe I'm in the company of an orc and a panther. I go from mingling with high class spirits to this. Either way they seem to be my best bet. "Now what is this about a quest? Does it pay anything? Also do we have to bring that creature? I mean if you want to complete a mission successfully, you need cunning, wit and strategy. Something I feel that panther lack but I can not tell you who to no bring on your mission, orc." [Alabaster Der Cinn]
Alabaster was pleasantly surprised that the boy that had been observing her had actually approached her. "Oh it didn't! It just made me wonder why you were looking at me in the first place..." She gave him a smile and held out her hand. "I'm Alabaster Der Cinn, it's my first time out in the city. What's your name?" She looked past him and towards the one of his friends who was yelling at him. "So it's Erik, well tell your friend that I'm flattered that he finds me pretty but he's not my type..." She added. "Well it was nice to meet you all but I really should get going now...I hope to see you again soon." She moved to the exit but was then blocked by something. "Oh excuse me but I'd...like...to leave..."

Several floating cloaks with darkness within that looked like it was obscuring something barreled into the shop and blocked the doorway with their numbers while five wandered around the cafe, knocking over tables and people. "Remain calm." A voice said, rough and sounding like a whisper. "And no one move. This won't take long."

Calm? Calm?! Calm was far from where Erik was at that moment. As the cloak things had arrived in the café, he had taken a couple of steps back from Alabaster- mainly because she was between him and the exit- and promptly tripped over one of the upturned tables, landing near the bottom of one of the things. Looking at it from below, he noticed two things- one was that even from the bottom, he couldn't see past the strange mist in the cloak, and the other was a strange talisman hooked inside of it. What the hell?! It looks similar to... are these things golems, too!? Erik scrambled to his feet, wishing he had brought his sword with him. Instead, he snapped off a chair's leg and brandished it like a sword- he knew he wasn't the greatest fighter due to lack of real-world experience, but he had some training, not to mention, Vix, Hitsu, and a number of other patrons carried themselves as though they were no strangers to combat.
"W-what the- what the hell are you?" he asked, the chair leg quivering in his hands. Oh, shit, they're probably going to fight me. Why did I think this was smart? "What do- what do you wa-want?" I hope the proprietor doesn't get angry if I die without paying him back for the chair

--Panthera, Faereach Cafe's Alley--
As the glasses-wearing human approached, Panthera found herself backing deeper into the alley, her claws itching to slip free of their sheaths. She wasn't angry with the human, simply agitated with his sudden appearance. He just slipped by, sneaking up on the both of them. But what worried her most was his tone of voice. Yes, she understood his words, and yes she was intelligent, but she was still more animal than sentient in this form. Tone of voice was just about everything. But this human's words were just so... empty. It wasn't even possible for her to trust someone that tone-dead.

Still, White seemed to be calm around the human, enough so to shake hands with him. She couldn't trust White wholly, but seeing him so casually accept the new human's made herself feel just a bit calmer. Still, when the human quipped at her intelligence, she gave him a look. She may have been an animal, but she'd lived long enough to more than understand what humans' words meant. She wasn't pleased with him in the slightest. Pacing back and forth, she began to become antsy. She wasn't able to sit still, easily. This human'd come out of nowhere and startled her, and it was occurring to her quickly that this was a human city. They'd be crawling through the cracks like cockroaches, bloating the city to full with their presence, which of course meant more were most likely coming. Not feeling comfortable with that thought, she made her annoyance known by pacing back and forth.

Alyx & Nerriss

Appearance boy and dragon slept, the dragon curled up on the boy's pillow beside him. As the boy arose he looked over to his sleeping friend. "Wake up Nerriss. Time to eat and explore." Although the tiny dragon was reluctant it opened its eyes and gave a yawn. Sneezing as it rose to its feet. The boy chuckled at the sight and walked outside where all was peaceful. The dragon soon joined him, perching itself around his shoulders. "This is it Nerriss. We're finally going into the city."

An hour later and the boy was outside once more, this time fully dressed in ornate clothing from his home. Many dragonesque details were prominent in his attire. That and the heavy duty coat, crafted to resist dragon fire as well as an easy storage for tools of dragon taming. The small dragon, Nerriss, wrapped herself around his shoulders once more and the pair made their way into the city.

As they walked the streets many strangers were startled to see a dragon casually accompanying a seemingly human stranger. Some simply stared while others made an effort to avoid him, whatever their reason was, he didn't care. As he continued to walk by he noticed a strange commotion in a café. "Huh... I wonder what's going on there. Wanna find out Nerriss?" The dragon cooed in reply and so Alyx took one step forth. And another. And another. Until they were now standing inside the café. A blue haired boy and his little blue dragon floating beside him.

Vix was too distracted in his own fantasy world, that was until he returned his gaze to Erik and saw a strange cloak floating. “Isn’t that strange? I mean, even for this place.” Vix wasn’t sure what to make of the situation, so far, the creature hadn’t made any violent or aggressive moves. At the same time, one can never be too cautious. He was about to teleport his blade to him, when a boy and a dragon caught his eye. Ignoring the situation entirely, he quickly made his way to the cute guy and the even cuter dragon. Quickly and acrobatically avoiding patrons of the café, he made his way to the duo. “Hello there, my name is Vix and I have to say your dragon friend, he is absolutely adorable.” His white tail puffed out behind him, showing just how excited he was to see the dragon. That’s when he quickly remembered the strange cloak creature and Erik behind him. “Erick stay calm. So far, I sensed no malice form the creature. As it was, it wants and make sure not to jump to conclusions. If you feel any threat I will put up a barrier to protect you.” Vix then turned his attention back to the dragon and gave it a smile but he was mental prepared to cast a spell if the situation called for it. ren
Ren caught the scent of what seemed to be a mixture of uneasy and aggravation. It seemed that the animal wasn’t feeling very well about his presence. The last thing ren wanted was a fight and potential killing a panther, his first time in the city. He observed the creature closely and quickly realized that he had to find a way to calm it down. It seems to not like my humanoid appearance. Maybe I should change into fox form and the sight of another animal will calm it down. ren stepped back a little to give himself room for the change. Suddenly there was a small mist and Ren was now an elegant, slender red fox with nine tails. “Calm down panther. I’m just as human as you are. Try to relax yourself and try not to do anything stupid. Orc I believe we should go to a place less crowded and somewhere where there are less human based creatures. Maybe somewhere less city like and more nature like.” Ren word came out soft and melodic. He was lacing his word with some magic to help calm the panther down a little.

-I can't get the coding rnnn-

White watched the two trying his best to not get involved and allow the displacer beast to adjust. "She's not just a Panther, she is a displacer beast, they kill a species and then like become what they killed, like an evolvment after death, it's complicated," he looked doen at the nine tailed fox in awe before nodding.

"I have no idea if the quest pays but I believe it does but if you do not want ti do quests for money you'll have to find a job in the City, I'm not someone who hangs around too long and my like of work isn't exactly...clean," The Orc looked down at the two before shrugging.

"Follow me!" He smiled widely teeth and all, wandering through the streets, almost as tall as some of the huts. White's eyes widened as he begun to reach a forest like area. "We next head to the Emerald place, that's what the bird thing said," White felt the grass between his fingers as he knelt down to the familiarity of it.

"Happy?" He asked both of the animals behind him. White never thought he'd be acquainted with creatures such as these!

What's Going On?

Alyx chuckled while Nerriss gave a small puff, unimpressed with this stranger. Alyx reached up and pet her, stroking her smooth scales as she wiggled around him. "Nerriss here is a girl. She is quite adorable though." As he spoke Nerriss settled down from her momentary discontent, curling herself around Alyx's shoulders. "I'm Alyx by the way. Glad to meet you."

Vix showed such intrigue towards the dragon, basically forgetting everything going on around him. The last time he saw a dragon was a century ago. "It's been such a long time since I saw a dragon. I Completely agree that she is adorable. But I don't think she likes me very much. What type of dragon is she if you don’t mind me asking?” it was strange to see such a petite and small person, who has a dragon by his. Does this mean he was a Dragon Aspect. If that is the case he just became ten times more interesting. “Oh! Where are my manners. It's nice to meet you, Alyx and you as well Nerriss. “ Vix was still on high alert about the cloaked creature lurking not far from where he was. He wasn’t in the mood for a fight, especially one that wasn’t for fun. “As you can see my friend Erik over there is deal with some strange creature. By chance you wouldn’t have any connection or idea what it is?” DVationz DVationz

Erik noticed Vix making his way across the café and relief shot through him instantly. Thank God! Vix is coming to hel- he's heading past me, he's at the door. Why are more people coming in when the situation looks like this?! Erik listened to Vix's suggestion and lowered the chair leg he was brandishing, but if anything, his grip on it tightened. He shakily took a step back, toward Vix, Alabaster, the door, and the newcomer- did he hear something about a dragon? Chancing a glance over his shoulder, Erik- with great difficulty- caught sight of the smaller man behind Vix, and by extension, the tiny, blue dragon curled around his shoulders. Now, people weren't very high on his list of likes, and animals were barely any higher, but a real life dragon wasn't something someone got to see up close every day- unless you happened to be this new stranger, apparently.
"A-a real li- real life dragon?" Erik asked, momentarily forgetting the cloaked danger in front of him, only to return his attention back to it with a start. "J-just when I- when I thought this d-day couldn't g-get any str-stranger..."
