Fae Blood ~ A Boarding School Roleplay

  • Hundreds of thousands of years ago, the world looked a lot different. The human race was ruled over by a powerful and supernatural race known as The Fae. Of course they didn't look like the little winged sprites we imagine them to be today. They were tall and domineering with pale puckered skin and they possessed magical abilities beyond our very comprehension. Their average life span was nearly 400, 000 years though they lacked the ability to effectively reproduce. Thus eventually most of them died out and the ones who didn't were eventually all killed off by the human revolts. Before they went extinct though, a few of the last Fae infused a tiny bit of their blood into human DNA in an attempt to ensure the longevity of their species. This Fae blood now runs in the veins of all humans going undetected. However this change in human genetics results in a small number of people from around the world being born with supernatural powers. These human could either be a genetic accident born to normal parents, or genetically get their powers from one or both their parents having magical abilities.

A boy stared up at the main building of what was his new school and place to live through one ice-cold blue eye, the other covered by blonde bangs. His head dropped as his gaze fell to the small planter he held close to his chest in both hands. From the soil was growing a tiny green sprout. Written in marker on the side of the cheap plastic planter was the name AARON, his name. Head still bowed, he made his way up to the door before pausing. He turned to stare at the flowerbeds running next to the building, his icy stare masking anything beneath the surface. He looked away and continued inside without any other hesitance.

Through the glass window he could be seen looking around the anteroom before finding a bench and taking a seat where he sat still staring absently down at his plant. Outside, ivy growing up the side of the brickwork turned every so slightly as if reaching towards the window.

Sterile cool light beamed down from the elemental lab ceiling, making every detail of the room stand out. This was for everyone but the man with his back to the wall. Despite his head facing directly toward the light, the grey bandana that would usually be on his forehead, mostly obstructed by his decently long brown hair, was instead lowered over his eyes. This allowed the man to sleep soundly in the brightest room of the whole building. He had arrived here early to wander around the place alone, as he often did, but apparently it was too early, seeing as he was out of commission in this room already.

The windowless room was usually fairly cold to prevent any decay of organic specimens, but right now it felt colder than usual.

Being home schooled most of his life, Gemelo is excited to go to school. He's not particularly excited about learning but rather, he's excited about the variety of students he'll meet and and how they'll behave around one another. But it looks like he was too excited since he barely slept last night and he arrived earlier than everyone else.

"Damn, this place is huge!", his companion, Ego, exclaimed. "Even without a body, I can tell the walk to dorm Cyrus is gonna be a pain. Can you check the map for directions?"

"Err... about that...", Gemelo scratched his messy black hair. "I left it at home"

"Seriously?! You spent the entire night checking and double checking your belongings!", Ego let out a disappointed sigh. "I guess we'll have to wing it then."

And the two trudged on. If someone was watching them, they'd see a new student with messy black hair and glasses muttering to himself as he hauls his baggage through the campus.

Jessica walked towards the huge school and looked up at it. She sighed, attaching her samurai sword to the harness on her back. She reached into her pocket and took out a map of the school, I'm going to get lost.. She thought, What a pain. She looked back up at the school, "Will I be accepted here?" She muttered.

Smiling as she stared up at the building, the ivy crawling up the brickwork it looked like something out of a fairy tale. She could make out a small group of people, looking up at her brother she grinned like a lunatic before running towards the school, her hair trailing behind her wildly. Flashing him an annoyed look as he complained about her bag "Enough." She knew they had arrived quite early but their parents couldn't wait to get rid of them after all having a child that could make animals attack you was scary even though she never would. She could make out a boy with black hair just arriving and she waved happily at him before passing the map to Kieran for him to try and work out. "So we are in different houses...okay then." She was a bit disappointed but it would be nice not having her brother constantly keeping tabs on her.

Kieran Summers
Watching his sister run towards the school he shook his head and followed her, shifting the wait of her bag to his other shoulder "Damn how much stuff did you bring?" Following his sister, he looked at his pack, she had the map but he had the rest of the information "Okay, im in Andromeda and your in Lyra" Gesturing to a bench he sat down, "why are you giving me this?" Looking down at the map he tried to work it out.

Jessica looked at the map once more, "I should probably get going to Andromeda..." She put the map between her teeth and looked at her huge backpack on the floor. Why did I bring so much stuff? She thought before putting both of her hands on the straps of the backpack and attempting to get it onto her back. It proved to be difficult since she was so small and she struggled for a while.

"Psst", Ego whispered to him. "A girl's waving at you. Do you know her? She looks cute."

Gemelo turned towards the direction he's pointing at. He noticed the girl passed something to the guy next to him. A map!, he recognized it and began walking towards them. "Woah, making the first move aren't we?", Ego chuckled and followed him.

"Err... t-the map... um...", he stammered. His voice was barely heard by the two of them.

"Easy, cowboy. You'll scare them off. Calm down.", Ego advised.

And he did. This time, Gemelo managed to construct a full sentence. "C-can I borrow the map? I left mine. Err...I'll be quick, promise"

The man opened his eyes as he awoke, only to see nothing but darkness. With a loud yawn he slowly removed the bandana from his eyes only to be met with the absurdly bright light. "Shit!" He shouted as the light burned his eyes. "That was a horrible decision." He looked toward the floor until his eyesight adjusted to the light in the room.

After his eyes settled, he looked toward the clock in the room. Shit, he was asleep for about two hours already. He quickly took his bright orange jacked that he used as a makeshift blanket, put it on, and rushed out of the room before any of the staff caught him in there. "Now where was the general area.." He muttered to himself. People should have already arrived by now. Making a guess, he headed toward where he thought he could find others.

Drake Kindle

Drake approached the academy he would now be calling home for quite some time. It was strange to be leaving his former life behind for the time being. However, he was also very excited about the prospect of learning to hone and control his abilities. He wasn't sure what to expect of the place as he packed his belongings over the past week. His bags kept getting heavier and heavier, and he eventually had to leave over half of it behind.

He walked up the pathway with two backpacks, one slung over each shoulder. He saw other students arriving. He smiled a little as he saw a younger girl running toward the entrance of an impressively large building. He reached into his pocket and scanned over his paperwork once more. "Lyra," He mumbled to himself. He then shoved the wrinkled papers back into this pocket and scanned the yard with his iridescent ocean blue eyes.

He lifted his fingers to his mouth and whistled a three note tune. He knew he risked catching the attention of the other students, but he had questions, and he knew just whom to ask. He stood and waited a moment, constantly scanning and watching for the rustling that would point him in the right direction. He saw it. It was not too far away, he walked over to the rustling bush and leaned in close.

"Do not be afraid." He whispered to the bush. "My name is Drake, and I seek the guidance of the forest."

The squirrel rustled in the the bush and poked out his furry black head. "Go inside. Others have come and more will soon." The small rodent replied back.

"What can you tell me of this place?" Drake asked the squirrel using his most soothing voice in an attempt to calm the creature and instill a sense of trust in it.

The squirrel inched forward another step or two and looked up at Drake with its large dark eyes. "Many different people here, all special. We try not to get too close."

Drake realized that he would need more time with the creature to get anything of use out of him. He would have to worry about this later. "Thank you my friend." He said as he headed back toward path and made his way toward the building. The packs on his back were heavy, but he was too excited to notice as he came closer to entrance where a couple people had already gathered.

Klef walked to the school, today marks their third year here. Their didn't need to look at the map to know where they were going. On their way there, they saw a girl stuggling to carry a heavy looking backpack. "Need help with that?" Klef asked the girl, their load wasn't as bad, mostly due to the fact that nearly all of their stuff was still in the dorm from last year. @Domxx

Chelsea strutted down the road, maintaining until she turned sharply left to look at the school dead-on in front. She looked down at the ground and back-up, readjusting her jacket as she walked through the gate.

Holding the handle of her sword while walking, her ears twitched as she heard other beings talking. Turning her head slowly she sees two figures interacting.

One dark haired female with a sword and what seemed to be a large pack by her side. The other was a male? female? Chelsea couldn't figure it out from this distance.

She started to slowly walk over to the two.

"Hey" May grinned to herself, she found it funny how nervous he was. Watching her brother give them the map she muttered softly to herself maybe be can actually make sense of it. "Im May, that's Kieran" she said gesturing to her brother. She wasn't exactly sure what to make of him yet, she didn't even know his name. "Im in Lyra and he's in Andromeda what about you?" Picking up her bag off the ground she hoped that he could make sense of the map as she couldn't and neither could her brother. Nodding when her brother brought up the welcome assembly she turned to the boy "So....you coming?" It was her first year here as her power had only appeared about a year ago give or take. Kieran had come with her even though his ability was much more subtle than hers she didn't want to be alone.

Kieran Summers

"Hello" Passing him the map he smiled at the boy, raising his eyebrow at the sight of his sister actually carrying her bag. He looked back and noticed that quite a large group of people had gathered "May we should probably go to the welcome thing" Grabbing his bag he headed towards what they assumed must be the main building, it was tall and the ivy covered every brick, Kieran thought it all quite charming in a strange way.

Klef took the backpack off of the lady's back and onto theirs. Klef hobbled a bit, the backpack was much heavier than they expected. "What even is in here?" They joked while walking to Andromeda. As the two were walking, Klef noticed their was a sword wielding woman slowly trailing behind the two. Klef turns to the woman and asks. "Are you in Andromeda too? We're heading that way too, I can show you guys where to go, if you'd like. It's my third year here, I know this school pretty well." Most people don't believe Klef when they say it's their third year here, but they were scouted at the young age of nine and attended the school since they were ten.

(Sorry~) Jessica took the map out of her mouth and put it back into her pocket. 'Thanks for the help.' She said. She looked at the person that was trailing behind them realising in a matter of minutes she had met two new people. Maybe I will be accepted she thought.

Chelsea stared down at the small figure. She still doesn't know what gender he or she is. "You, short one, what gender?" she questioned with a blank look on her face.

Klef face flushes a bit when the lady behind them asked about their gender. Please .... change....... conversation ......topic. Their hands clammed up and Klef gave a grin as they pointed to where the Andromeda house was. "That's the andromeda, right over there!" they say gesturing to the house.

It had been so long, and yet not, and they still wouldn't appear to her. Life was dreary, but perhaps this academy could help her.

Tori looked up at the academy's main building (or only building, whatever it is), studying it with light blue eyes. Around her pupil the blue became so dark it was nearly black, but the outer edges of her iris were nearly white. It was quite strange, really.

She felt many other Auras here; not a single 'normal' human would be here.

Tori continued on, adjusting the black jacket she was wearing to pull her hood up, tucking her hair back into the hood with an annoyed sigh. Her pack was rather light; she had only brought the necessities, and anything else she had--like a music player, and a phone--would be found in her jacket pockets, and the weapons she wielded hung almost carelessly from a clip at her side that made them easy to retrieve.

Tori ignored all of the people around her, knowing that the would wonder what house she was in, then why she seemed to have so much more control over her ability, and then later on wonder why the staff kept so close an eye on her. She didn't really want to talk to anyone; none of them looked all that interesting, even to her bored mind. She checked her map and shrugged, heading into the main building.

Chelsea looked up as the student pointed upwards. She stared at the building for short moment. Adjusting her clothes again, she said "Let's go."

She then lightly pushed the both of them toward the house.

Drake continued to walk down the path toward what seemed to be the main building on the campus. He was excited to get to his dorm room, but overhearing the students walking up in front of him reminded him that their was a welcome assembly he should probably get to first. The packs on his back were starting to get a bit uncomfortable, and caused him to start shifting his weight back forth.

He was quite intrigued by the ivy that seemed to be climbing the outside of the building. It looked as if it was either trying to climb as high as possible to get as close to the sun as it could, or it was a ravenous ivy trying to devour the building whole. He liked to think that is wasn't the latter, but his recent experiences with his new abilities had taught him never to assume what anything was thinking or desiring. Drake now knew that there was probably someone out there that could talk to this ivy first hand and find out the answer, but now was not really the time to dwell on such academics.

Drake made his way through the entrance to the building and took a quick look around. He saw a student sitting on a bench and thought that it would be a good idea to sit for a moment to give his shoulders a much deserved rest from the weight of his packs. Drake glanced at the boy as he sat down, noticing that his name was probably Aaron, if the marker written on his planter was any sign. However, he also realized that the name could also belong to the plant.

He pondered this for a moment as he flashed a smile at the guy and his planter before sitting down for a moments rest.

Klef was pushed forward by the tall woman. " So what are your names? Mine's Klef! K-L-E-F" They spelled out as the three aproached the Andromeda house. Klef marveled at the building, even though it had been their home for three years it never seized to amaze them, it was so big and there were still many secrets hidden within the Andromeda house Klef has yet to find out.

"Chelsea. Locheart." she answered, staring straight ahead at the house. As she walked with the two, she looked down to the ground. Quickly glancing at her sword she asked, "Powers?"

Chelsea Locheart, it sounded somewhat familiar to Klef. Powers? Klef really wanted to play a prank on them using their illusion manipulation, but it would be cruel to be dishonest to them. " Powers? I'm the master of aura manipulation......Kidding! But I can control auras and stuff...it's pretty neat!" Klef answers to Chelsea snickering, hopefully she knew that they were only kidding. They decided to show off one of their tricks as they projected an image of a flower, about 4 inches in size. It was rather hard to project anything bigger. "Where are you guys from originally?" They asked nearing the house.
