Fantasy Fae Blood Academy

While she got caught off guard, he got hit. It seemed like a fair trade.

The raven let out a small 'oof' as her elbow made contact. On instinct, he took a step or two back in order to avoid getting further injured. Clutching the spot where he had gotten hit, Atlas tried to regain the breath that he had ultimately lost. Which, he failed at for a good minute or two; seeing as though laughter kind of stole away anything he managed to get back. "God, you hit hard." He chuckled.

Yes, he was laughing off the pain. And it kind of worked, too.

With a somewhat goofy smile on his face, he raised offered a little wave. "I just came over to say hello. So... Hiya!"

Cadence felt her cheeks getting hot as the blush grew darker. "I am so sorry! I didn't mean to hurt you." She said, her body trembling slightly as she saw his breath was knocked out of him. This was a normal thing for her, she always managed to make a fool of herself. "H-hi." She said, a bit confused that he had laughed after she had hit him, despite losing his breath in the process. "My name is Cadence Fowl." She said softly, lowering her gaze to the map for a moment before lifting it to the males face once more. Her hands fiddled with the map, twisting it nervously. She really was bad at socializing. She never really knew what to do, the epitome of awkward.

@Aridis

Holding out a hand, he kept the smile on his face. It was pretty obvious that it wasn't going to fade anytime soon, either. He had succeeded in freaking someone out, so that was one thing off of his daily bucket list. "I'm Atlas Damon. Nice to meet ya, Cadence."

The other's awkwardness did not go unnoticed. For him, it only made the situation all the more interesting. And kind of brought forth another thing on his list; basically make someone come out of their shell for a little bit. While he wasn't always successful, it was always fun to at least try.

"Don't worry, I won't bite. Maybe... Kinda depends on if I randomly turn into a dog or not."

@Mina

Aaron watched through the window as more and more students gathered outside and began to clump together into smaller groups to socialize with one another. He was fine being left out of all that, he wasn't in any mood to talk anyways. As someone found their way to the door of the main building and opened it, Aaron dropped his gaze back down to his plant in an effort to not draw unwanted attention. It apparently didn't work.

The person paused and then took a seat beside him. From sidelong glances Aaron found out this person was a boy older than him. He kept smiling as if putting in the effort to be friendly. Probably because it was the first day at a new school. Aaron just couldn't find the desire to act the same within him, so he let a silence grow as he continued to stare at his planter.

After a while, he grew uncomfortable of the stranger's presence. Aaron pulled the map of the school he'd been provided and spread it out in front of him. He found the Lyra dorms with his finger and stood up without acknowledging the other boy at all and walked away, taking a path through the main building at first to avoid the students mostly gathered out front. The small planter with his name written on it sat forgotten where he'd been sitting.

Cadence pushed the paper into one hand while the other lifted to shake his hand. She smiled warmly at him before his joke, causing her to laugh softly. He was an odd one, and he totally put her out of her element, socializing. Ugh. "Nice to meet you as well Atlas." She said before pulling her hand back and looking down at the map once more. "Do you know how to read this thing? I am supposed to be in the Andromeda house?" She said before she held the map to him. The map was terribly crinkled now. "I am sorry, I suck at direction." She said, though it was halfway true, it was partly because halfway through her attempts at navigating through the map, she had gotten lost in her own mind and had to start over.

Aha! Something he could actually help with. Even though he had more or less memorized the layout of the campus just by exploration alone, he took a quick glimpse at the map. But, once the lines and various shapes had begun to swim around the page, he immediately gave up. Maps sucked, and he never really liked to use them. "Welp, we're a bit closer to Lyra than Andromeda. But! Lucky for you, I kind of know how to not get lost... Sort of."

Taking a step in the right direction, Atlas motioned for the girl to follow. "Right this way, Miss Fowl."

@Mina

Cadence took the map back before he had started walking. She would figure it out eventually, but her mother had written on it, and since that would be the last time she would see her mother for a while, she didn't want to lose it. She quickly stuffed the map back into her backpack, zipped it up, then swung it over her shoulders. Afterward, she grabbed her luggage and nearly ran to catch up to him. She hated her last name, one thing her parents gave her that she would just as soon, do without. She should of introduced herself differently, hearing him call her that made her scrunch her nose in distaste. "So, you don't know how to read the map either huh?" She said as she had to halfway jog to keep up with his long strides.

@Aridis

Whoops. Busted.

"Heh... Not really." Slowing down a bit so that the shorter female could keep up a bit easier, he rubbed the back of his neck. "I mean... I don't really see the point in it? I more or less figured out where everything is. So, its kind of useless to me now? A little?" Only if there was a really strong need for it, would Atlas actually use a map. Until that moment came, it would be wandering around and memorizing where everything was on his own time.

@Mina

Mina listened to him, nodding in agreement. If she could manage to not daydream while walking about, she might be able to do the same... key word, if. She hardly ever went without daydreaming, sort of like she was doing in that very moment. Imagining herself walking throughout the halls of the school she had yet to fully see, knowing exactly where she needed to go, and being there on time. A small laugh left her lips as she realized how much of a dreamer she was, before she shook her head and looked at Atlas. "So you know where the Andromeda house is then?" She asked. She didn't feel like carrying around her luggage for days, she didn't pack light. Plus one of her suitcases was stuffed full of books and sketching supplies, making it rather heavy.

Maps could just...not.

Where was he dammit...

Shion was stuck by the wrong house, looking up the walls and ceilings above with a confused expression. It took a bit of pinpointing - quite a lot of it, actually - and sitting on the clean floor with his back against the wall, map spread out on the space in front of him, for the male to figure out where he was. In fact, he was still trying to figure it out.

He was by one of the three, count 'em - three houses, so that narrowed down some of it. Right? Brows furrowed in concentration and the boy fumbled around in his pockets for a mechanical pencil with a neat body. Clicking down some lead, he drew small circles on the layout and tried to rewind the path he had taken.

Goodness where was he...

Wait-

"Adromeda..?" he wondered aloud, lifting his head to look around the hall once more. "Uh oh..."

Wrong house, of course.

"Eyup! So, if you ever get lost and don't feel like reading a map, just hunt me down! Or ask someone who knows the place a bit better than me. Either works." Shoving his hands into his pockets, Atlas looked around a bit. While he had already explored this area once or twice before in his couple hours of boredom, there was always the possibility that there was some detail he had missed. However, besides the people that were hanging out around them, there didn't seem to be anything worth noting.

After awhile, he glanced back at Cadence. Tilting his head to the side slightly, he slowed his pace a bit more. "Hey... Need help with those? I mean, Andromeda isn't much further. But it would do no good if your arms fell off before we got there."

@Mina

Cadence smiled as he spoke, he was nice enough. Maybe she wouldn't have too hard of a time making friends here if they all were as friendly as him, considering she had already elbowed him pretty hard in the chest, and he still was conversing with her as if it didn't happen. She looked at him as he asked if she needed help, shaking her head. "No, I am fine, thank you though. I packed them, it is only right that I carry them." She said with a warm smile. "What house are you in?" She asked as she walked along, her dark gaze shifting to look around. So many people were already making friends, smiling and conversing... part of her wished she wasn't so socially awkward.

@Aridis

"I'm in Cyrus." Atlas announced. "You know, elements and all of that wonderful jazz." He had heard that his house was packed this year, compared to the others. And, depending on what each person was like, that was either going to be a good thing or an annoyingly bad thing. Given, it was a bit hard to annoy him. But, it was definitely possible to cross that line.

Coming to a stop in front of the Andromeda building, he decided to make things needlessly dramatic. He rushed up ahead a couple of steps in front of the girl, and then randomly turned to face her. Atlas held out his arms as if to present their destination, and even pulled a little bit of jazz hands action.

"Tadaaaaa~. Your home for the rest of the year! It comes with a complimentary roof over your head, as well as state of the art windows. Hell, it even has luxury rooms, custom made to fit the needs of the average student. And the school budget... I kind of lost where I was going with this. BUT BEHOLD!"

@Mina

Cadence laughed softly as he dramatically welcomed her to the house she would be staying in. He was so odd, but she kind of liked it, it made her feel welcome in a place she probably wouldn't otherwise. An elemental magic user? She had never met anyone with magic, aside from herself. "Thank you Atlas." She said as she finally allowed her eyes to lift to the house. It was quite large, and it looked pretty amazing. She sighed, a bit reluctant to enter, she hoped no one else was in the house right now, she didn't want to have to make awkward conversation with anyone. Her eyes finally lowered back to Atlas, shaking her head with a bright smile. "It means a lot that you helped me out. I probably would of never made it here without someones help."

@Aridis

Smiling like the idiot he -kind of- was, the raven shoved his hands into his pockets. At the very least, he was happy to have made someone laugh. Even if it had been at the expense of his own pride. But, in his own honest opinion, it was more than a fair trade. "Nah. You would've found it eventually. I mean, it might've taken a longer time, but you would've gotten here at some point in time; if just by accident."

Behold, the logic that made up this dork's brain. "Besides, we both go to the same school now, right? Its only fair that we help each other out at least a little bit every once in a while."

Turning towards the building, Atlas decided to get a good glimpse of it himself. While it probably wasn't against the rules for students to go in a house that wasn't their own, he kind of felt a small obligation to not stray into someone else's "territory." Although, trying to get a peek of what was inside wasn't entirely off limits. He had just wanted to check out everything that he could from the outside, to see if it was any different from Cyrus. However, as the seconds ticked by, he felt his gaze slipping. Slipping towards a very peculiar figure who was barely visible from the door.

The boy frowned, and tilted his head to the side slightly as he tried to get a better look. "Okay... Is it just me, or does that guy look kind of like a lost puppy. Emphasis on the lost bit."

@Mina @Hoki

His map was littered in lines and eraser shavings, investigations proving to be futile; Shion was just more confused than before, that's all. He had been in the middle of folding the map hotdog style again, pencil tucked behind his ear when the grand doors swung open. Sky blue eyes widening, he looked towards the two that arrived, the boy scrambling to his feet quickly.

Hell, he didn't know whether he should apologize for being there, in a place he technically wasn't supposed to be in, or start greeting them, giving his insurance information after this whole fiasco.

Wait.. Why did he think of insurance information? He wasn't part of a collision.

Because everything made sense in his head. Whoops.

On his feet, the smaller redhead let his widened eyes focus on the two. "U-um..!" Cue every ounce of awkwardness in his entire being. Stuming forward a bit, his hands raised and his pencil clattered against the floor. "S-sorry," Shion tried to explain, ears red as everything in his head exploded into fire works and sparks out of his mild 14-year-old panic, "I didn't mean to intrude on your house property..! I just...got...lost.."

He was frickin' lost, and almost positive that he confused them just as much as he already was.

@Aridis @Mina

"True." She said softly as she set down her luggage, flexing her hands as she watched him looking at the building. Her eyes shifted to the male that Atlas was looking at, raising an eyebrow before nodding. "He kind of does." She said before picking up her luggage once more. She definitely didn't want to meet another person, with her luck, she would get halfway there and end up tripping over her own feet... which is what happened. The moment the door opened and they began walking in, her bag smacked against the door jam, being the one full of books, this ultimately threw her off balance, and she tripped. The next thing she knew, she was careening toward the ground, managing to pull her foot forward and catch herself mid fall, though her bag didn't have such luck, it flew forward and skidded across the ground, before stopping somewhere in the middle.

She managed to completely miss the new comers klutziness, but her own probably drew more attention than she had warranted. A blush stained her cheeks once more, though this one lit up her whole face, scrambling to grab here bag and clearing her throat as she lifted her dark gaze to both boys... unable to so much as speak.

@Hoki @Aridis

Two awkward people meant doubt the challenge. And double the opportunities for him to make a complete idiot out of himself. PERFECT!

Pretending to not see any clumsiness that had happened within the last minute or so, Atlas strolled into the building; any fear of trespassing having almost completely vanished. Mainly because someone else had already accidentally wandered in, but that was beside the point. The boy would've helped Cadence, but she seemed to recover just as quickly as she had fallen. Which was actually kind of impressive.

He turned his attention toward the lost male, and waved off his apology. "Dude, you're fine. I doubt that you're going to get kicked out of the school just because you got lost. Besides, this ain't my house either." Glancing over to the girl for a moment, he raised an eyebrow. "And...you okay over there? No physical injuries?" Pride was a bit of a different matter.

@Mina @Hoki

He would've helped the girl, but by the time he finished his panic she had already recovered. Either way, he stooped down to grab his pencil - which stupidly slipped from his clutches like a bar of awkward soap - and once it was back in his grasp, he knew his ears were burning almost a red deeper than his hair.

Shion smiled sheepishly at the girl, who behaved a little more awkward than he, tightly holding the pencil in one hand and extending the other to the girl. Awkwardly.

Because that's what Shions do in their natural habitat.

That, and accidentally blow stuff up with their panic. But same thing.

"Not your house?" he repeated with a soft voice, looking over at Atlas from the corner of his eye. "Then.. Which house are you in?"

@Mina @Aridis

Cadence looked at the male that had apparently gotten lost and ended up here, before gazing once more at Atlas. "I am fine." She said, almost defensively. Without fail, she had to make some type of an impact upon her entrance, why not make it an excruciatingly awkward one? She looked at the hand extended out to her, placing her bag down and moving to shake his hand, if that is what he was even going for. Hopefully he was, cause right now, she didn't need anymore embarrassing outcomes. At least she wasn't the only one here that managed to make herself look like a complete klutz, made her wonder if he was like this always, or if it was just because he was nervous. If it were because he was nervous, then he had one up from her.

"My name is Cadence." She said, deciding not to say her last name. It was the worst name EVER... so she would refrain from introducing herself with her last name. "Atlas was just helping me find the house I will be staying in." She said softly, while her voice was quiet, it held a soft tune to it. After shaking his hand, she released it, itching to move to her room so she could go and be alone, reminiscing about all of the embarrassments she has had since getting to the school.

@Hoki @Aridis

Aha! He was about to trap another unsuspecting student into a potential friendship. Atlas only considered it potential because people tend to act in various ways around him. Whether he actually became friends with these people purely depended on whether or not they could put up with his goofiness. That, and if they actually wanted something like that to happen. There was no use hanging around someone if they were constantly uncomfortable with the idea.

That being said, at this point in his life, he had learned the difference between "helping someone out of their shell" and "dragging them by the hair out of their shell." Preferably, the teenager wanted the first to happen. With someone. At some point. Because damn, loneliness was lonely.

"I'm A--." He came very close to saying his own name. It was only the sudden fact that Cadence had already introduced him that stopped him from doing such a thing. Trying to recover from his act of almost accidental stupidity, Atlas cleared his voice. "I'm in Cyrus. What about you? Maybe I could show you the way to your house while I try to find the way back to mine."

@Hoki @Mina

He wished he had helped the girl to her feet when he had the chance. Which had passed. Whoops.

The male didn't want to make things exceptionally more awkward by offering his hand again.

"I'm Shion," he introduced, shoulders raising with his gentle smile, his attention currently focused on Atlas. "I'm actually, uh, in Cyrus too." Wasn't that mildly convenient. Huh.

"Nice to meet you both."

@Aridis @Mina

Cadence smiled. "You as well." She said before turning to Atlas. "Thank you for helping me. I will let you two go so you can find your house. It was nice meeting you as well." She said as her dark eyes met his before drifting back to Shion. They seemed nice enough, but since she was so socially awkward, she had for many years, been alienated. Friends didn't come and go, because for that to happen, they would have to stay longer than a day or two. She had this knack for running to solitude every time she made a fool of herself, maybe that was why many people did not stick around, but it happened. That was what she planned to do right now, chances were, she would see them both in class or throughout the halls at some point throughout the school year.

@Hoki @Aridis

Motioning for the male to follow, Atlas began walking backwards toward the entrance of the building. "Hey, Cadence. Remember what I said! If you get lost, try to get unlost enough to find me!" He had dubbed himself the friendly neighborhood GPS, and no one could take that title from him. Sort of.

If Shion didn't follow, then he would have to take drastic measures and give the guy a piggy back ride or something. Because knowing how to get to one's dorm was a bit of an important thing to learn. Besides, he was pretty sure that they had to pick up the pace a little bit. Atlas wasn't sure of the exact time, but they had to go to the main building at some point in time. And that time was probably soon. So, the tour would have to be cut from "stroll in the park" to "one's mother when she's running late for work."

"Come on, dude. We've gotta hurry... I think."

@Hoki @Mina
