Buras had been mowing his way through the chaff that were Runners, Darkwolves, and Darkwings as the other Guardians dealt with the Ravagers. He'd deal with them himself, but they looked to have it all under control. And he was right, for they died fairly quickly without putting a dent on the Guardian's ranks. As the last Ravager fell, Buras' thoughts turned to their leader. The massive Cerebrate, which he could not find. Angrily throwing his axe at a Darkwing, then running over to catch it when the beast fell/dissipated and continue fighting, he begins to look for the massive creature that he had somehow misplaced.

His attention was called towards the larger group of Guardians, which in all honesty he should be a part of. More specifically the large column of black fog that was near by, and the red eyes that peered out. So that was where it had gone. Shouting a challenge at the creature, Buras runs at the blade legged creature, who was slowly shedding it's foggy hide. If he were not an Inuin, he might have reconsidered literally running into the jaws of the beast. But since he was an Inuin, the thought never even crossed his mind as he prepared to deflect whichever sharp part of the Cerebrate decided to try to impale him with first.

With that though, Eevie took the opportunity to distract the front end of the giant scorpion once more, waiting for the cultist and Deep One to do whatever they needed to do to get this thing to stop existing. That was, of course when she caught the yelling. "FUCK!!! I shouldn't have used this much to kill a simple fucking Ravager!!" Eevie felt bad for leaving the rest to the cultist and his fish, but people were hurt - dying, and she needed to help. Her job was as a healer as much as she was a fighter, and so she signalled to the eldritch man that she would be back as soon as she could, and ran towards the newly deceased ravager, to the Nephilim who had seemed to be poisoned.
Miska could hear the screams for medics and he wished so desperately that he could do something/anything to help, but he couldn't abandon the battle and risk the ravager escaping alive, so when he saw the dullahan run off towards the calls, he didn't know if he should have been angry or happy, but he nodded nonetheless and shouted "GO! We'll Finish off this monstrosity" Calling upon the eldritch tentacles once more, he used them to grab onto the scorpion's tail, the creature struggled and shrieked in pain as it attempted to escape the hold of the otherworldy appendages.

Stink Breath with a frustrated screech leaped onto the beast's back once more but leaving his trident behind so he could instead simply punch the thing relentlessly until it stopped or he dried up and suffocated, whichever came first. He shouted and repeated his battle cry with each and every one of his punches

"MOTHER MOTHER MOTHER MOTHER MOTHER MOTHER MOTHER MOTHER MOTHER MOTHER MOTHER MOTHER"

eventually the creature beneath the deep one escaped the hold of the eldritch tentacles, but only through the act of snapping its own tail off, it had gone mad from the pain and was rampaging, but the cultist couldn't anymore more but to let out a weary sigh as he fell to his knees from exhaustion caused by this battle, it had taken its toll on him once more and he needed to rest. But the same couldn't be said for the Deep One who held on tight, as Miska watched Deep One continue to wail on the rampaging beast Miska began to hear the beast's exoskeleton cracking under the fish boy's barrage all the while screaming his battle cry

"MOTHER MOTHER MOTHER MOTHER MOTHER MOTHER MOTHER MOTHER MOTHER MOTHER MOTHER MOTHER MOTHER MOTHER MOTHER MOTHER MOTHER MOTHER MOTHER MOTHER MOTHER MOTHER MOTHER MOTHER, FOR THE MOTHER!"

Eventually, the creature began to slow down as the Deep One on it back finally broke through its armor, the deep one had stopped punching and had resorted to just clawing and biting at the exposed flesh. The Ravager finally just gave up, and let itself die as the Deep One reached it's heart and bit into it.

Sashi, Margot & Spess
Spessartite stood there with the druid, simply not inconvenienced by her weight, staring at the dead remains of the beast. They had done it!... Alas, the momentary celebration for her was short lived as noises of a bigger beast soon arose. Spess didn’t need an eye in the sky to see the massive singular black tail. As she spoke, she quickly let the druid down from her arms, while keeping eyes on the moving mass of legs and tail that had appeared right in front of them. “Holy fuck on a stick… that… doesn’ look like sum’ normal Ravager.”

The sorceress stood next to the elemental and for the first time since they met, a real fear could be seen in her eyes. She looked as the monstrosity covered itself in a dark cloud and dissolved into a fog, that dashed through the streets of city, only to gather next to the three women.

“What in the name of Light is that…?” Margot asked weakly, as shadows suddenly took a form of a giant monster charging at them.

“No time to think! Dodge!” Sashi shouted, holding tightly onto her sword, as she launched away, pushing her comrades lightly, prompting them to follow quickly into the nearest cover.

Margot stumbled under druid’s push but had managed to jump away from the Cerebrate’s range just in time to not be cut in half by its giant pincers.

As for the elemental, Phos was slightly slower than her lighter allies. As she realized she was not going to make it she put up a wall of earth to slow the attack, which saved most of her body. The part it did not save was her head, which broke off and flew into the air, only to be caught by the headless body and meet up with her magic fighters. “Hoooo neva’ ceases to put a chill in my spine!” She grins as she reconnects the head to it’s stump of a neck, soon back into place.

Margot gaped for a second at the elemental, but she quickly shook the confusion away and focused on monster ahead. It was terrifying, with multiple legs, armoured body and a swarm of Darkwings coming out of holes on its body. Three tired woman could not handle it on their own, not alone, and not from that position.

“Distraction,” mage panted between her quick breaths. “We need to distract it and flee.”

“Distraction eh? Well, neva’ touched one-a these things, but I used to play with them smaller ones! They don’ like the shakes, the trembling earth! Now I may not be able to scare this one, but maybe it wants to go towards them shakes?” The elemental watches the beast out of the corner of her socketed gemstone, aware of its position. Her suggestion was instantly acknowledged by the mage, who was already thinking of a way to use that against Cerebrate.

Reaching into her satchel, Sashi follow through with her confidence, as she toss a vial filled with glittering, silver powders into the air. A few mutters left her lips, as a few of her wooden chips followed, causing a bright blast mid flight as it came in contact with the vial’s mixture. The blinding concentration of light would stun the multitude of Darkwings within the vicinity. Margot recognised what druid was doing quick enough to cover her head with cape but of those that was unfortunate to be in the blast radius, their foul Dark magic would disintegrate like ash from the intensity of the burning alchemy, and their eyes would be blinded for extended period of time

“Now, elemental!” the mage shouted forming a flight spell with her hands. "Shake the earth!"

The living statue stomped her leg, letting her mind follow a crack that formed at their feet and shot across the street and on the other side of the giant scorpion, causing almost fifteen feet of light tremors. Blinded and bamboozled beast turned almost in place and with primal fury charged towards the epicentre of vibrations, giving the three women few precious moments.

The druid knew that the odds were against them, and that they had to somehow gain an advantage over the immediate threat. Without further thoughts to herself, Sashi unrolled a batch of white powder from her satchel and sprinkled it over her elemental friend. Having done so, she would incant an enchantment spell, which would eventually cause Phos to feel as light as a feather, despite her bulky loadout. “There, that should aid you in your speed, friend. Let us depart for the wall, before it figures out our plan.” said Sashi, patting the elemental on her rocky shoulder, before turning her gaze at the sorceress, almost snickering under her breath. “Lets have a race. See you in the dust, mage!” was the last thing she said before sprinting her way towards the wall with great haste.

“Are you shitting me?” Margot frowned at druid’s back, as the woman who apparently just drugged her new elemental companion run through the city. It was at least stupid to have the race in the middle of the fight… but she wasn’t going to lose it. Mage jumped into the air and flew quickly in the direction of walls.

The display caught the mineral maiden offguard, a sudden sprinkle of magic dust and a challenge to a race at her mage friend, but next thing she knew she was running after them both to catch up as they dodged the flailing Cerebrate.

Gon'gon stabbed, burned and freezed darkborne, his golems killed them by the dozens, but the horde seemed to have no end, they just keep coming, no matter how many he killed. He saw how the knight he helped earlier was getting lost in the armies of the darkborne, the then heard a shout of a guard nearby, he was on the floor, fighting back a runner, the darkborne was about to kill the soldier when Gon'gon killed it from afar with a earth spike. The head of the runner had a big hole were the earth spike hit it, black blood falling from it like a river, it then falled to the floor and began banishing.

Gon'gon hurried to the soldier and helped him to stand up.

"Are you okay soldier?" Gon'gon asked to the soldier.

"Yes, thanks you lord guardian" The soldier told, while making a reverence.

"No need for that, now, let's regroup with the other stray soldiers." He told to the soldier, they then regroup with the elementals, and began to reunite the other stray soldiers, the ones who were to hurt to fight were send to retreat as well as any hidden civilian they found.

After a while Gon'gon had reunited a small army, with his elementals and any soldier they happened to found, they began marching towards the wall, where Gon'gon saw a concentration of people, then Gon'gon heard a loud BANG, the guards around him covered their ears, as they hurried.

Once they reached the wall Gon'gon saw many guardians grouped together and walked towards who seemed to be their leader.

"Greetings, i am Gon'gon."

Gaheris Agramar

"All of you who aren't maimed-- to arms!"

The commotion outside only grew. The town hall's heavy doors were being shaken by the sounds of battle outside. The two guardsmen quickly managed to replace their worn down weapons and stood immediately.
"Let's hope that big lug's not dead yet," Lyle breathed through his teeth, buckling on a helmet. Karl lowered the visor of his, picking up a heavy mace. "He can't have held on that long, can he?" He remarked, before the doors opened to let out some of the more able soldiers.

Outside, Frontierville was practically in shambles. In the thick darkness surrounding the area, they managed to spot a familiar figure with a greatsword.

"Agramar!"

Gaheris was still standing. He was definitely looking worse for wear- but if the giant had promised that he wouldn't die, then they were damn sure he wasn't going to anytime soon. The giant knight brushed away the remains of black blood on his armor and stepped towards the town hall, rumbling lowly.
"...Re...vitalize," He groaned. Karl turned back. "Pass a flask of water over here!"

A small flask was tossed over as Gaheris sank to a knee, his greatsword stabbed in the ground next to him. They really couldn't afford any breaks- but there was no point in struggling if the fighters weren't doing so hot themselves. As Karl passed the flask to Gaheris, the giant took the already opened container and tilted it back, letting the cool water flow into the strange void that was his cowl-covered face. Whether he was drinking was unknown...but he passed it back again and stood up.

Just in time, too. A cloud of darkness was gathering near.

"What in the five hells--!" Someone- or rather, something- was manifesting. A gigantic, teleporting scorpion. A Cerebrate.

"Magnificent. Simply magnificent." Lyle groaned.

"To arms!" Karl shouted, rallying a few of the soldiers to his side. As the Cerebrate began to manifest, its sharp legs came down first-- impaling an unlucky soldier in the chest. The next few, though, was parried by a massive greatsword.

"Not...getting through--!" Gaheris roared, pushing back with his greatsword. The slightest twist in the giant's right arm alerted the Cerebrate to his next move-- he had been clearly aiming to try and disable its back legs. Noticing this, the scorpion disengaged briefly, red eyes gauging its enemies.

"Quickly! That giant's helping!" The soldiers recovered from their rattled state. "Avoid those legs! It'll kill you in a split second!"

"Agramar! Keep it turning!" Lyle barked another command. Gaheris growled once- in confirmation. He moved again, going for a swing at the Cerebrate's legs again and making one too many over-committed strikes to keep its attention on him. However, as one man rushed in to try and attack the Cerebrate from behind, its massive tail simply smashed them under.

"Damn it all! Does this thing have no soft spots?!" Karl snapped, whacking a leg away with his mace. Lyle stopped next to him as the Cerebrate's attention was caught by another of Gaheris's bait-and-switch strikes.
"Do you think we can hit the holes on its hide?" Lyle questioned. "I could toss a spear in there."

"And bring down an entire flock of Darkwings on us, you nitwit! It's a living being, ain't it? It's got to have a soft area!"

Lyle dashed back for a moment, thinking. Soft...soft...something that was always soft on a creature, no matter what it was...

"That's it!"

"Karl! The eyes!" Lyle called. "The eyes! We could try going for them! It'll be enough to throw it off for a bit!"

"What in the name of the Light are you talking about, Lyle?! We don't know that for sure!"

"Well, I guess we'll have to find out." Lyle turned back to see Gaheris. "Agramar! Get it pinned! Hurt it!"

"AaaaAAAAAA!!!!"

Gaheris made a few more parries before stepping back, barely avoiding a hit to his stomach. He launched himself into the air- how a giant managed to get so far up, none of the guardsmen knew- and crashed down with a mighty roar and a heave.

His armored boots connected first, already making the Cerebrate buckle slightly-- however, in its disoriented state, it didn't expect the second blunt strike to hit- Gaheris's greatsword came down hard upon its head, forcing it down. It let out an ungodly screech, tail thrashing.

"May the Light help you now," Karl mumbled as Lyle ran forward, directly into the face of the Cerebrate. He was putting all the power into a single thrust of his spear- and his target was one of the Cerebrate's eyes.

He could only hope he would not miss his mark.

Spessartite Phos, Sashi, Margot Lagarde
As the druid and the mage both gave in to their speed, Sashi eventually opened up to the telepathic channel and explained her plans as the legion of Light cannoneers continued to barrage the distant Cerebrate.
I suppose this is a good time to walk through the steps. As soon as we arrive, I shall replicate the Starlight solution from earlier. And if the Imperial legions would lend a hand with their black powders, we would be able to entirely cover in the air with bright flares. It will at least buy our companions some time.” Sashi ran through it in her thoughts with the mage and the elemental, as they have seen its effects in-person.
It may work,” mage admitted reluctantly. The flash of light from earlier multiplied by her magic and cannon powder could do the trick and deprive the scorpion of ability to see for a very long time. “Don’t worry about the soldiers, I will deal with them.
When Margot arrived at the cannon, Sashi was already setting up her flask, brewing its powdery contents lightly over a small fire, of which she had tucked it in with some sets of small stones, in order to prevent catching the nearby ammunition cache on fire. She apparently won a race and one could not describe with simple words how salty Margot was because of that small loss. But the sorceress knew it was not a good moment to argue with the druid. Instead, she landed next to the soldiers, who, rather confused, we're looking at the druid that all of the sudden started playing with alchemy next to them.
Listen closely,” the sorceress started speaking, once again switching to the commanding tone. “I am an Imperial Mage. My… companion here is going to prepare a special kind of ammunition for the cannon. On my command, you will fire in the direction of this giant scorpion in the city.
Somehow, that didn’t resolve all of the soldiers’ doubts, but they also didn’t feel like arguing with the three women who had earlier taken down one of the Ravagers practically by themselves.
Druid, tell me when you are ready!” Margot shouted in Sashi’s direction, as she took out a piece of chalk from her bag, knelt, and started drawing on the cobblestone before cannon.
The lady in white robes would wave her hands about, notifying Margot with her gesture that she understood, in the laziest way possible. Before long, the alchemist had finished up her part and began distributing what was left of the mixture in the flask to the soldiers. “Load an extra pound of black powder, and sprinkle a handful of my dust on top of it. Oh… and make sure you shield your eyes a bit. Wouldn’t want to be blinded.
The elemental, while the two magic users had begun their work, had decided to stand their ground at the base of the wall. Unfortunately, since the Cerebrate was such a hotspot for dark, it had brought more creatures with it and that was her main concern. She didn’t need to understand what the magic users were doing, just that they needed time and freedom to work. I can do that~
Meanwhile, Margot’s hand blurred before her, as she frantically covered insides of her circles with runes. “...wind speed under consideration. Serperas’ law of momentum must be accounted for…,” she murmured to herself, completely preoccupied with writing down her spell.
Druid, my spell is ready!” Sorceress suddenly raised from her knees and put hands before her, as words of her spell made the runes before her start to glow with yellow light.
Uh… fire when ready?” Sashi shrugged with a confused head-scratch, dismissing the band of soldiers long gaze and standby for her command to fire.
The mage only nodded in answer, finishing her incantation:
... telaad dur anam!
Three glowing circles formed before the barrel, as soldiers were reloading the cannon with ammunition combined with Sashi’s dusty mixture.
Margot took a deep breath, looking at the druid and praying inside for her alchemy to be as effective as the exploding pieces of wood she had seen earlier. The sorceress raised her left hand so that all soldiers could see it, and then moved it down, at the same time shouting:
FIRE!”
The loud ‘bang’ thundered over the wall, as missile left the barrel. It went through the circles left by Margot’s spell and turned in the air. Now, moving with speed significantly higher than it would normally do, it flew exactly in the direction of Cerebrate’s head, all the while blinding and burning any Darkwings that were in its path, like a shower of heavenly comets that fell from heaven.
***
“Greetings, I am Gon’gon.” an avian figure, whose pristine armor collided with the darkness, underneath the burning night approached Margot.
Lagarde,” sorceress introduced herself, too tired for formulating a normal sentence. Her head was aching from all the poor quality spells she had cast today. She used a hem of her sleeve to wipe away a drop of blood that came from her nostrils. The sudden appearance of Incruscan was a surprise to her, but then she recognized him as the summoner from before.
Femosis blesses you with commendable strength, Incruscan. Druidess of Elbe Forest - Sashi, at your service.” Sashi added, taking over the weary sorceress’s words. As they await the Incruscan’s response, the darkness of the night would slowly be brushed away by the cannoneers’ new formula of starlight dust.
As the duo met a new friend the Elemental was turning the grounds into what could only be described as a pincushion as many minor Darkborne dissolved after being impaled multiple times by a spiked stone road. She had the area locked down, but if she did too much she might attract the Cerebrate’s attention once more.

Terra had been healing the wounded around the square as the beast had broken through. She had been knocked into the air and slammed into the nearby wall. As she landed onto the ground, wounded, she looked up at the scorpion like beast and her eyes went wide. "It's... It's a Cerebrate..." she said in awe. She tried to stand but to no avail. Her leg had twisted and was in no condition to support her weight.

She slammed her fist into the ground and fixed her leg up, using her metal crystal to set her leg into place and used the last bit of healing she had on it. "That'll take a while... " she said as she breathed heavily. The beast was concentrated on others as she was trying to think of what to do. She then grabbed a rock nearby and took a deep breath in. She closed her eyes and clenched her fist. A rainbow of different colors began to glow from her hand as the rock began to form into a crystal. Once the light settled she opened her clenched fist and saw the crystal she had made. "Tsunami... Of course it's god damn Tsunami..." she sighed.

She was able to bring herself to a nearby building and rest herself against the wall. She saw Pryonn on the other side of the square and attempted to signal him over for him to take the crystal. Very obviously wanting him to take the small crystal.

Jericho
As he loaded the last of the Piercing Shot into Dante, he scoured the current situation. The foul Cerebrate, having fully manifested, begins wreaking havoc, as a few guardsmen have found out. The thing ends their lives as soon as they rose to action, mutilating them in terrible ways, before moving on to the next target. The fellow Guardians within the area are taking quick steps to avoid this newfound threat, with the sorceress and her... group fleeing in time to the walls, now concocting some sort of potent offensive power with the aid of a most likely unwilling cannon crew. Maria and the... thing have finished off their Ravager, and are now moving to assist in taking down the Cerebrate.

The thing is releasing fresh Darkwings from its nest-hide, with the existing Darkwings swarming the skies above it, apparently defending their 'home'. The Darkwings emerging from the numerous nests were either crushed or shaken up, as a terrifying shriek flew across the sky. "AaaaAAAAAA!!!!" yelled the Giant wielding a sword, landing on the thing's top with a cracking thud, along with a sword strike right down onto its face, forcing its head down with the inertia, emitting a painful screech, its tail poised to strike the target. Its eyes leveling with a mere guardsman going for a stab, its pincers begun moving in to end the man's life.

Raising Dante, Jericho aimed for a quick shot into its eyes, hopefully to save the guardsman, or delay his death. Audaton was also curious as to whether these things feel any considerable pain if one stabbed them through the eyes. But as his hand squeezed on the trigger, a soft object smacked into his back, throwing off his aim. The shot ended up in the ground, digging its way through the cobblestone pavement. "What the..." exclaimed he, before being blinded by a flashing light.

The entire plaza showered in a coat of white, Jericho felt as if the sun had somehow appeared in front of him, as if any second now, he'd start burning up. But alas, he did not, for the first thing his ears picked up after a slightly louder than normal cannon shot, was the pained screech of an animal that had seemingly lost its eyes. Opening his eyes, trying to adjust to the light, he could spot the Cerebrate wailing as it thrashed around, despite the Giant atop it. The things' eyes were searing, leaving trails of smoke as it moved, with one eye in particular impaled with a spear. The owner of said spear, the guardsman, was lying on the ground. Not dead, just blinded.

As the Cerebrate tried to adjust to its surroundings, seemingly switching to another sense aside from its eyes, its face aligns with the wall, where the sorceress was. Seemingly having spotted the massive Light energy recently dispersed, it reared up for a charge, but did not, as a cloud of Darkness begun swirling around it, with puffs of Dark smoke beginning to appear at the walls. The Cerebrate let out an angry roar, completely oblivious to the half-Giant running headlong at the thing with two axes in hand.

Jericho himself, turning around to find the same Elf girl he'd saved not once, but twice, being the culprit for his missed shot. "Why, you..." he said grumpily, grabbing her and forcing her to sit down, pumping his waning powers into Clarity. As his eyes begun to weaken from the power drain, he told the girl. "Stay. Put. It's dangerous out here, you might get hurt, okay?" Standing up and turning back to see a flock of Darkwings on fire, seemingly taking substantially more damage from that magical cannon shot, Jericho begun plotting his next move. 'I cannot just stand here and fire bullets at the thing,' thought he, as he loaded another bullet into his gun to do just that.

Tenet was and has always been a strong individual but his strength was beginning to wane as the Ravager kept desperately trying to free itself. The savage individual did not notice the change in the nearby light warrior's energy and thus was surprised when the woman impaled the creature in the recently opened weak point. The tail fell away like rotted tissue and the monster's body was stilled for the rest of eternity. The death of the Ravager caused Tenet to let go of the tension in his dark muscles. It was for a moment before he realized exactly who the woman was and that tension immediately returned.

This light-walker was the very same one who had captured him and dragged him away from his home in the forests. This was the woman that broke what little Tenet knew of peace and it did not look like she wanted anything other than for his corpse to join the Ravager's. He didn't need his Darkborne senses to feel the animosity this woman was projecting. To which, Tenet responded with his own anger and malice, as a vicious rumble of growl tore its way up his throat. The Vile bared his teeth against the woman's intensity, widening his stance in preparation for the fight that was coming. Yet, to his surprise, that fight never came. Maria's animosity towards the corrupted being definitely never lessened but it seemed that she had more important things to do. Things that he was dictated to also assist with in exchange for his freedom. He was commanded to kill but if he were to save the light-walkers from their well-deserved fate, the kind woman would gift him clothing. A cloak to ward off irritating light and cloth to protect his skin.

Reluctantly, Tenet tore his crimson ire from the pole arm wielding female and settled on the very thing she spoke about. The very big scorpion. Tenet had noticed the abomination's energy from a mile away but had done well to steer clear of its path but now it was coming to close. There were many lights that burned near the colossal creature. Lights that would be snuffed out if this thing was not properly dealt with as soon as possible. The animalistic man wasted no time in doing just that. Digging his claws into the stone, he launched himself forward to engage the leviathan only to be buffeted with some kind of blinding light that sent the Dark-kin reeling backwards with a pained screech. A screech drowned out by the pained yowl of the Cerebus as it too, was blinded by the display. Smoke rose off of his being as if he was being broiled, separate from the dark fog that enveloped his being. A faint sizzle could be heard from his sprawled out form upon the stone roads of the city and was a few moments before the demon of a man could recover.

One thing immediately led into another, it seemed, when the gigantic creature wasted no time in attempting to exact its revenge upon the very people that blinded it so. His sight had not completely returned to him, but this didn't hinder his ability to sense the Cerebus's intentions. It had used this ability previously and it planned to use it again. Tenet recognized the surge in void-like energy and instantly knew it what it was about to do. Tenet also knew exactly how much energy this gargantuan scorpion would need to complete this unimaginable ability that it possessed. It was going to wipe out the mages and it was in his best interest to keep as many light-walkers alive as possible. Which meant, he needed to prevent this thing from succeeding.

Still concussed and disoriented from the blast, Tenet staggered to his feet and launched himself to the side of the building. He scaled it quickly and lept straight into the heart of the accumulating darkness. Others that were looking on would only be able to see a faint crimson glow within the building maelstrom of abyssal energy, indicating Tenet's position. The Vile widened his stance and extended his arms to the side, as if he was trying to protect someone behind him with his body. It was only when the building dark began to change course that one would be able to tell what was happening. The darkness began to twist and swirl towards the soft, scarlet glow in the center, causing that demonic light to increase exponentially. Tenet's mouth and eyes were held wide open as the darkness was siphoned into his very being, causing the increasing dark energy to fluctuate violently and throw off the "signal" for the Cerebus's teleportation. Though as the darkness willfully entered Tenet's body, so too, did the madness of the corruption. The mere moments The Vile spent absorbing felt like an agonizing eternity. A seemingly infinite amount of minds melded into Tenet's being, driving his own sense of self into the outer recesses of his mind. His body spasmed as control was wrenched back and forth between him and whatever unspeakable forces threatened to completely dominate his essence.

When the disruption of dark energy was enough, Tenet collapsed to the floor and retched up a viscous black mass of some ungodly substance like rivers falling over a cliff's edge. His form became unstable and parts of him shifted in and out of his passive state while others shifted into something even more monstrous than his current form. The job he had originally set out to do was done but Tenet could no longer remember what in the hell he was doing. Why was he here? Where was he? Who? What was happening? The voices wrought destruction upon his already rather delicate mental state and ravaged any sense of sensibility that he had left in him. Now, only one thing existed and it was a primal thing. The strongest of all instincts.

Fear.

Tenet was terrified. Glowing, red rivers spilled from his Darkborne eyes down his blackened cheeks like magma spilling over the lip of a volcano. The man, no, the terror-struck child of a man. The quivering husk that was once Tenet dragged himself to the edge of the roof and slid over it, in some kind desperate attempt to escape the hive mind that tormented and terrorized him. All in vain, for now, it did not matter where or how far he went from the now-weakened spring of dark energy the Cerebus had tried to use. It was inside of his very soul, simultaneously whispering and bellowing that there was no escape. That it would never let him go. That it had been waiting for this moment for decades. He belonged to them. He was Darkborne now.

Yet, something inside of Tenet..... very deep inside...... resisted and this minute resistance, is what prevented him from succumbing completely. It was a tiny, pale, pallid thing. The strength that had kept him from succumbing to the darkness in the first place. His power as a guardian.... and his humanity. It was a tiny, fleeting ember that burned in an ocean of abyssal madness. Yet, burn this ember continued to do. Tenet was covered by the shadow of the building he collapsed off of, his body shifting back and forth between completely Darkborne and human (as human as he gets. Passive state) like waves upon a moonlit beach. Morphing between abominable darkness and his pale "natura". There, still within earshot of the Cerebus, Tenet whimpered and shook as he desperately clung to the pathetic, shattered remnants of his self. For whatever it was worth, even if his self was as hollow as the dark. Even it was utterly worthless. It was all he had.

And all he could not let go.

Esta struggled to her feet, the cloaking shadows dissipating. She took a moment to analyze the scene in front of her. One by one, the Guardians were prevailing. The new ranks of Dark had slowly been decimated by the Light army, leaving behind a mess of mangled bodies.

Esta forced herself into a slow trot to lend her skills to struggling soldiers. They were battling a scorpion, something that they were calling a "Ravager". When Esta got to the knot of men, she began barking out orders. After a couple of seconds, the huge beast was surrounded. It gave a trumpeting cry as the men stepped forward, jabbing at the unprotected belly and mouth.

Esta ripped a sword from a body, brandishing the weapon angrily as she faced down the creature. At the other end, the deadly tail swung, taking out at least three men. But with every man gone, two took his place. The Ravager was slowly being pushed away, cornered to a building. As the scorpian made a last ditch effort, scuttling forward and slamming its tail into the line of men, Esta pulled herself into a ball and dove underneath the creature, slicing up with the sword and leaving a gash in its softer belly.

The Ravager howled, throwing itself away from the source of its frustration. Smack. The scorpion hit the wall, crumpling to the ground. Its legs clacked on the concrete surface of the ground, and the whole armored body shuddered. Esta planted the sword in the ground, splaying a hand out to the creature. "Thrysta," she said, and the tail was pulled out with a crunch.

Esta immediately felt a drain on her depleted stores of energy, causing her to drop to her knees. Waving off a concerned looking man, she hissed through her teeth, "Finish the damned thing off." The man nodded and gave an order. With that, at last twelve spears buried themselves in the Ravagers exposed flesh, making it resemble a porcupine. The beast screeched, then crumpled to the ground. The group of soldiers gave a resounding cheer, their battle cries sounding across the grounds.

Esta felt a hand clamp around her arm, hoisting her up. She looked up at the man from before. He gave her a crooked grin. "Ain't from around here?" he stated. She nodded. "I'm guessing you're one of those Guardian fellows?" he asked. Esta smirked. "I was sent to meet with them, although I may not be considered one," she replied. He nodded in understanding. "Well, I saw a couple fighting a Cerebrate over there. They could use our help."

Esta led the group of soldiers to the huge Dark creature. The rest of men and Guardians were already caught in combat. She glared up at the sky, filled to the brim with masses of swarming creatures. Resembling birds, they divebombed the Light army, screeching and making a complete nuisance. With narrowed eyes, Esta hissed out a couple of words. "Jierda hawln skulwatha." A flock of Darkwings plummeted to the ground, the bones in their wings snapped.

The massive...Cerebrate.. was taking out men in bunches. A flurry of movement sent the creature reeling back, an unearthly scream coming from it. A closer look told her that a spear was buried in its eye. The beast was, to put it lightly, absolutely pissed.

"Not exactly the sight I expected to see." From atop the sturdy oak tree, Erik's gaze was fixed on the Cerebrate trashing about. Conventional weapons do not seem to have much of an effect and the unorthodox fighters seem to be having a difficult time just pinning it down. One of them managed to pierce its eye, enraging the creature even further. It was a good effort nonetheless and the defenders deserve to be praised for it.

"Thing is still walking around though." Keeping his eyes on its legs, Erik took aim with another one of his shell-tipped arrows. The cloud emanating from the creature's body makes it hard to track in the night but his vision, coupled with the creature's massive size was hard to miss. Before firing his shots however, he mutters a small incantation, forcing small fragments of magic upon the arrow tips, making them ooze with potent venom.

"Well, it should be fine so long as no one gets it in their noggin' to eat the damn thing when it bites the dust." With that, Erik fires a poisoned arrow towards the creature's eye; an opening already provided by one of the defending soldiers. As the arrow whistles across the field, Erik followed it up with two, three more arrows in the exact same spot, just to add a bit more damage before the monster decides to vanish again.

Audun the Fallen

Disposition: Slightly Evil

Audun laid on the ground with his arm broken and lying limp on the ground. It wasn't nearly as painful as it was the first few times, but the damage was the same. He attempted to get up and continue to fight, but stopped when a dullahan came to his aid. She scrawled out on a piece of paper the words: "I am going to cleanse the wound from the poison and seal it. It may hurt a lot, so bite down on this." The female dullahan then placed a piece of wood in his mouth and begun to cast a spell, engulfing the nearby area in blue flames. Audun remained perfectly calm, after dealing in Dark Magic, little fazed him anymore. Soon enough, the flames covered his body and burning pain surged through his vein.

It was like the fire was inside his veins burning away the poison and setting in place the shattered bones. For a brief moment, he felt the Darkness flowing out of him in the midst of the pain. The chance at purity easily overwhelmed the physical pain. Hope was far stronger than anything this twisted world could inflict on Audun. Audun's hope soon waned, as the flames died out and Darkness seeped back into his arm. His attempts at protest were unheard, with the piece of wood in his mouth. Audun spit the wood out before the dullahan finished her spell. The Seraph slowly got up, and when he was standing, the dullahan was a mere child compared to his size, but no doubt older. In this moment, Audun craved purification from the Dark Magic flowing through his veins and was ready to petition the girl beside him for assistance. However, a dark cloud of darkness passed by. The Cerebrate.

The Darkness emitting from the abomination engulfed what Light there was in the area. Without the Light's power and the presence of the Dark clouds,
Audun's arm surged with Dark Magic. His arm glowed with darkness and hints of Evolution slipped out from his veins. Audun's thoughts of purification we're completely abandoned in favor of the power that the Dark contained. The forbidden power was far too tempting in comparison to mere holiness. In his moment of weakness, he welcomed the Darkness and let it seep into him, giving him power. As soon as the cloud passed, Audun some kind of withdrawal. He needed more. More power.

He didn't bother to thank his healer as he leapt into the air, gliding towards where the Cerebrate teleported. As he glided, a flash of light hit the Cerebrate head on, blinding
a nearby soldier and sending the insect a fury. Despite the trashing, a Vile was absorbing some of the Cerebrate's Darkness, causing him to convulse on the ground, leaking Darkness out of him. Audun landed near him and was struck by his struggle to resist the Dark. A resistance far greater than anything Audun had put up in his life... Audun placed his hand on the Vile's shoulder and began to draw the leaking Dark away from the being's body. "Get to safety, my fellow corrupted. You've done more than enough. Let a Nephilim prove himself."

Audun, powered by the Dark, as opposed to the Network, was unaffected by the Cerebrate's cloud. He deployed his spear, having lost his sword and prepared to charge, before considering what another use of Evolution would do to him. His body was fine, but this would be far more Dark Magic than he would normally use. If he was careless, the Darkness would temporarily consume him and send him on a rampage. A whole group of Guardians would be able to kill him, but the cost would be enormous, especially if Audun performed a Full Evolution.

Light; it was so sudden and bright, and seemingly unescapable, preluded by a thunderous bang. The light was blinding, but the Dullahan could still see - the benefits of her headless sight. The real battle had now begun, and who was she to deny the cerebrate it's final grave? She only hoped they could put it there swiftly. Yet there was one thing that caught her attention; a fleeting look of desperation from the nephillim, yet words fell hopelessly short after the blinding light was replaced by the shadow of the cerebrate; she made a mental note to ask him what troubled him when they weren't about to die.

Eevie didn't even mind that he didn't thank her. She didn't expect it, so it really wasn't a bother, in her mind - it was her position as a Guardian, after all. Though it wasn't her job it was a skill and task she had accepted to take on to help more people in more ways than just relieving them of their ills at death's door. She being the hand that reached up and knocked for them when they could not, or were too unwilling.

Around her, much was going on, and yet she strangely felt overwhelmed. Her magic was strong, but nothing compared to the strength of these people, who she came to know to be Guardians as well - these were the men and women who she was to serve beside, and yet she couldn't feel her own worth. She raised her hand up looking at it as if to question why she couldn't use the same power. Clenching her fist, she threw her arm to the side. If she couldn't aid them properly with her strength now, she would find and learn the magic she needed to in order to help them, without weighing them back.

Her mind set, Eevie raced forwards, going around the back of the Cerebrate, retreating to a safe distance before placing an aura of healing on the ground, separate from herself. The healing magic rune glowed with a soft yellow light upon the ground, the area around it also appearing to shimmer ethereally. She could keep that up for any injured to retreat to in order t heal their wounds, as well as help fight.

At this point, the smoke drifting out of her severed neck began to darken and grow thicker, giving her strength as she grasped her whip tightly in hand. Before she made a move in battle, she glanced around, making sure that there was no one in immediate danger...

[Please @ me if any of you guys get injured and need of healing~]

The knight's heart almost gave a leap of fright as he beheld how one of the Cerebrate's claws violently threw Terra against a stone-wall. Caring nothing for the chaff-creatures tearing at his armor, Pryonn charged through the darkborne's thinned ranks towards his Damsel, arriving by her downed form just in time to witness her self-healing and the creation of what she called a 'tsunami'. "My Lady!" he called with worry, hurriedly checking her pristine body for any further wounds. Rather than verbally replying, she merely held out her recently-created gem, wordlessly demanding for him to take it.

Instead, the knight affixed his banner to his armored back, an iron-locket clicking into place to keep the standard aloft above his head, before gently grasping hold of the downed incruscan, one plated arm hooked beneath her legs, the other around her back, in the manner of a noble carrying a princess "You are free to punish me later for my insolence, my Damsel, but a knight will not leave a Lady wounded in the thick of battle."

"God dammit Pryonn." Terra said aggravated as he picked her up. "Put me down right now. Take this crystal, and find someone fortified enough to fucking blast this fucker away." she said as she tried to struggle out of his grasp. Truth be told she was enjoying it but she couldn't let him know it.

Kaatl looked down at the leonine incruscan, again stroking her chin in thought.

"Ah, but my Lady, but I am taking it, as you command!" The knight chuckled as he sprinted with Terra through the town "For I am carrying you, you who carries the crystal! Thus united we are, as proper damsel and knight!" He called joyousely, deftly evading most of the lower creatures coming at them, while commanding pieces of his flail, armor and body to shred whatever foe dared to directly bar their way.

"Y-you are s-such an idiot." She said with her arms crossed and a huff. She had her head turned so Pryonn couldn't see her blush. "J-just find a place for me to heal safely, you idiot."

With approval he took note how his fellow Guardians took on the rampaging Cerebrate. A giant and a half-one especially took to direct battle against the creature, aided by hearty guardsmen, chipping away at the monster, while another snake-incruscan commanded swathes of the flying beasts to break in the skies. But as massive and durable as the creature was, its biology warped and perfected by the inscrutable darkborne energies, it was unlikely it would yield without further increased efforts.

Just on cue, the surroundings suddenly were set alight, the towering creature screeching in pain, while Kaatl on his shoulder hastily raised up a blockade to keep the brightness from the trio. The Cerebrate emerged from the blaze with eyes blinded, trailing smoke out of destroyed lenses - but still active, now searching for the threat to it existence with alien sensories.

The knight's helmeted view came to rest upon a certain trio of females - That rock-lady he recognized, the one that earlier had minutely barred his way from approaching his Lady, but the other two he could not recognize as they tinkered with what appeared to be a light-cannon. Yes, these would do.

Shoving more darkborne out of his way, the knight hurried to the collective she-mages, seldomly casting short glances over to the Cerebrate. "Hail there, Ladies!" He called as he arrived before them with Terra in his arms, the incruscan girl still holding fast the crystal "It appears we require some enhanced firepower to take on that chitinous dragon there!" He nodded over to the Cerebrate "You see, my Lady here, Terra's her name, is holding a gem of sorts, something she calls a 'tsunami-crystal'. Would you be able to make use of that?"

Jericho
Feeling discontent with his faraway position, he took a look around as he finishes up loading the powder for his gun. Grabbing a guardsman by the back of his neck, the man could've broken neck if he were running any faster, as Jericho asked something of him. "I need you for something, Guardian's orders. You stay here, and guard this Elf girl. Make sure she doesn't get herself in danger." As he begun to run off at the incredibly pissed off murder-scorpion, he turned off to yell at the lad, having just remembered the discrimination Elves get, especially the women. "And if I find even a scratch on her, I'm having your head for breakfast!" 'That oughta give him a good enough cause not to do evil,' thought he, as his halberd itches for more Dark blood.

Running towards it, Jericho made some observations. A sizeable group of people have congregated at the cannon, most notably the sorceress, a knight in sparkly armor carrying something... cute, the eagle Incruscan (guess he didn't die from his wounds), and a very confused Light-cannon crew. The Cerebrate has probably seen better days, with an arrow sinking into another one of its eyes, sticking in a similar way to the guardsman's spear, sending it into a wild rage induced by pain. The Giant atop it is somehow still in one piece, although the Darkborne's tail is rearing for a potentially fatal strike. It seems to have ceased trying to teleport, and judging by the dark-being writhing painfully in the distance, safe to assume the lad absorbed the Cerebrate's energy. Other than that, everyone looks fine, with more people joining the combat.

Time to finish this thing off for good. Spotting a menacing figure with a... peculiar head choice, standing in a slightly yellow glowing area, Jericho decided to stop by. As he stepped foot in the circle, he felt his head healing, slowly but surely reversing the effects of his previous helmet denting inwards, along with the bruises he had accumulated from taking an entire Elf girl in the back. Feeling slightly rejuvenated, he took a closer look at the figure, who had the body of a female, but no head to be found, instead, her neck stump was seemingly giving off a dark smoke. Glancing backwards, Audaton could see Maria approaching quickly, and a plan begun hatching in his head.

Hailing the whip-wielding headless girl, he proposed a plan. "Hey. Let's work together and take this damn thing down, okay?" Audaton had to admit, talking to people was not one of his strengths, especially since... the thing. Doing a double-take on the situation at hand, he added, "How good are you with that whip?"

Falon fought with a grim face, feeling himself become soaked in the blood of the Darkborne. As he pulled his spear free he could hear the sounds of one of the cannons firing. Knowing that the fighters would see this as a beacon, Falon began to make his way towards where the cannon was mounted. Flexing his neck with a satisfying crack, Falon put his spear on his back and picked up the pace as the shouting got louder. Taking out his daggers, Falon began to run, his Daggers slicing like wind as darkborne found their throats slit.

Coming to the open courtyard, he saw some people gathering to protect the functioning cannon. Sheathing his daggers he made his way to the gathering group. It was a strange group to be sure but throughout the course of the war, Falon had seen many unusual things. Taking the time to check his weapons, Falon ensured his Spear and Daggers were as sharp as possible, since the beast looked like it had tough hide. Despite his training Falon was feeling quite tired, however the rush of battle kept him going, but he knew fatigue would eventually set in. But for now he would keep up the fight.

Hearing the strangers awful attempt to rally the rag tag group, Falon then looked to the great beast he was proposing they slay. With a sigh and a nod he took his spear from his back and gripped it.
"Let us slay the beast"
He said simply as if it were a mere child's task to be completed, however the glare in his eyes showed them that he was not seeing this as a mindless task. Grabbing the emerald and silver pendent, he closed his eyes and offered a quick prayer before waiting for anyone else to join them.

Leafa

"Stay. Put. It's dangerous out here, you might get hurt, okay?"

Leafa put on her angry face as the man scolded her for leaving the medic's side, she particulary did not enjoy being scolded for her mistakes, it was a bit selfish, but she didn't care. He forced her to sit down on the ground, and called some guard to protect her. Looking at the guard she could see disgust spreaded all over his face, it was clear he was there against his will, he looked at her with... anger on his face, like she was some kind of monster. "HEY! WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING AT!?", noticing Leafa's staring, the guard raised his voice and yelled at her, but the young elf didn't understand why the man was yelling at her, she was just looking, there was nothing wrong with that.

"Why are you yelling at me? I was just looking..."
"Hmph, I don't do well with your... kind."
"My... kind? What's wrong with elves? They are just like you, but with pointy ears!"
"Stupid elf... you're all stupid savages... if it weren't for that guy..."

*

"This is boring... I should go find Yellow hair."
"Would you just... FUCKING SHUT UP AND STAY STILL!"
"Stop screaming! That's it, I'm leaving!"
"Oh hell no you're not!"

With eyes filled with rage the guard caught hold Leafa's arm, hurting her on purpose. "Ouch! You're hurting me! Let me go! HEY TALL MA-", before Leafa could finish her sentence the guard covered her mouth with his hand, and with panic in his voice he whispered: "Fucking... Shut up... I'll let you go. But don't call for him!". Panicking, the guard fled the scene in fear of what the man could do to him.

Leafa was now left alone, with nowhere to go. "Hmm... where should I go? I could try to find Yellow hair... or I could help the tall man! That will put me on his good graces! Genius!", she thought to herself. The girl made her way to the battlefield, again, trying to spot the tall man, she did notice a big spider-like creature, but she was more focused on finding the man. After some looking around, tripping on rocks and straight up falling flat on her face, Leafa finally spotted the tall man, he was standing next to a girl, but the young elf did not pay much attencion to her. She and the tall man where standing a few meters apart, not feeling like walking, Leafa decided to scream. "Hey tall man! I got the guard off me! He started to yell so I decided to leave! Also why is there a spider thing here! It's really big!"

Light-League, Assemble!

"You see, my Lady here, Terra's her name, is holding a gem of sorts, something she calls a 'tsunami-crystal'. Would you be able to make use of that?" Margot gaped at the at knight before her, but his words weren’t reaching her ears. Instead, her eyes were fixated on the blue crystal, that a girl in the knight’s arms wielded.

WIthout a single word sorceress dashed to the two and sntached the crystal out of exhausted incruscan’s hands.

“Where did you get that from?!” Margot hissed furiously at the young girl.

The girl laughed a bit while still breathing heavily from her hit against the wall. "I made it just a minute ago. From part of the wall." she said looking up to her, Terra's lion-like ears flopping up as she did. "What does it matter to you where I got it from?" she asked a bit aggravated.

“What does it matter…?” the mage was speechless, but from what she could see, the Incruscan didn’t understand the importance of crystals. To add to it, she was wounded and the battle still raged down the wall. Margot gave the girl a stern look and hissed: “You will answer my questions later, Incruscan.”

The mage’s attention shifted towards the crystal lying on her hand. She whispered few words under her nose and crystal started to glow with bright light. A delicate dome of glowing lines started to surround the item, twirling in the air until it formed a small, but incredibly complex magic circle above its surface. “For the Light…” mage sighed as her eyes quickly analysed the spell that the crystal held. “Child, do you know how dangerous this thing is? You could destroy entire Frontierville with it! Not to mention killing yourself!”

"I can't control what crystals I make. And if I make another one it's more than likely going to kill me if I don't rest." Terra said a bit frustrated. "I have been doing this for years. It's not my fault I didn't have anyone to teach me." She looked to the sash and back up in anger to her. "This sash does all the work, and it was left by some man who claimed to be my father. No help there huh?" she said as she laid back down. "Just go... Let me heal..." she said as she turned her head away from Margot, still breathing heavily.

‘Father?’ Margot thought, as her head spun, both from confusion and exhaustion. ‘Dear child, you have many things to explain.’

“Perhaps details can be elaborated upon later!” Pryonn chimed in with usual jolly tone “There is currently a rather monstrous foe we would like disposed of!” He nodded towards the Cerebrate raging over yonder “Good lady-mage, how do you think we could best turn this gem of ours - and I am talking about the crystal, not good Lady Terra - into a usable tool for said disposal?”

Margot raised her brow at the way the knight referred to ‘Terra’ which she assumed was a name of the Incruscan in his arms, but then his suggestion made her focus on the crystal. It shimmered with magical energy.

“In its current state it’s useless.” Mage evaluated quickly. “It will only change this city into a massive swimming pool, and I have the feeling our teleporting friend down there would not be fazed by it.”

“Then…” the knight shifted, thinking “... what if we localise the item? If it would emit a volume of water even close to what you say, could we use it against the chitin-dragon in some way?”

“It’s ‘Cerebrate’,” the mage corrected him reflexively, before thinking on what the man has just said. Unleashing entire water from the crystal at once was indeed pointless, but if they were to use it in some other way… Margot tapped her fingers on the cheek. Many ideas crossed her mind, none of them realisable with time and resources they had. And then suddenly, she remembered the exercise she used to do as an apprentice mage - cutting wood with water. Relatively simple feat of telekinesis, that could probably be easily extended, to improve their situation.

“Pressure,” mage said quickly. “If we can somehow concentrate the stream of water into a very small one, it may be able to cut through the armour of the beast.”

“‘Pressure’, ‘Concentrate’, she says…” Pryonn echoed slowly, the fairy on his shoulder stroking his armored chin in an attempt to help his train of thought along “... I am not all that much of an artistic sort, but would it be truly far-fetched to just shove the thing into the nearest firing-instrument, aim it at the creature and somehow hope that the resulting water will do it harm?”

“This must be the stupidest idea I have…” the maged lashed out, only to quieten all of sudden, as she seemed to think about something intensely. “Or… this may work, actually...”

She looked around at the people near her. The enchanting druidess, a knight who could bend metal with mind and an elemental with incredible physical strength.

“Knight, if we could use your power and possibly help of my companions, to reinforce one of the muskets those soldiers here have, your idea may yet come to fruition.” The sorceress waved her hand, pointing at Sashi and Phos. “I will need some time to recalibrate this crystal to serve as ammunition, but the idea seems functional.”

“Splendid! Just as in fairytales: Striking the villain with brute force always works!” Pryonn intoned joyously, setting his visored sight upon the rest of the assembled “We shall assemble a mighty weapon, fit to cull the beast! Wood-lady!” He called towards Sashi “You shall aid mage-lady in her task! Rock-lady!” he continued towards Phos, the being turning her attention to him, “You shall have the honor of aiming and firing the item! Together we shall reinforce the metal and trigger, that the gun might be prevented from coming apart for just a while!”

Carefully, the knight set down the Incruscan in his arms “I apologize for the inconvenience, my Lady, but a quest calls and we must go. Kaatl will guard you whilst we engage the foe.” For the first time since they entered the village, the fairy-knight duo separated, the winged girl rising from his shoulder to hover beside Terra. The fairy’s expression first gave a grave downturn, before she forced her grimace to change to an uncertain smile as she looked to the Incruscan maiden "If any foe seeks to harm you, Kaatl will alert us and I will rush to your aid in an instance."

In response Terra simply rolled her eyes, happy enough to be out of the line of fire for the moment.

Thus the group began tinkering, enchanting and forging...

Maria
Without a word, Tenet launched himself at the Cerebrate. Maria could not answer why he was there, though something told her it was no coincidence, and, judging by his behaviour thus far, why such a vile creature would bother helping in the defence of Frontierville was beyond her, but she did not intend to dwell on such questions and wild guesses any longer. Maria was prepared to do something in face of their situation as well, when suddenly, the town's square seemingly ignited with a blinding light. Maria's eyes did not adapt to the sudden change in time, and she squinted irritably.

Light-shell? Flare? None of them seemed to fit in, as the flash was far too intense for any of those. But whatever it was, it certainly worked against the beast. The Cerebrate was stomping around in an enraged manner, its pincers blindly reached out to defend itself from any opportunist looking to exploit the element of shock. Maria knew it was time to get moving if anything is to be done. As the blinding flash eventually returned to the grimmer darkness of the night, she could notice some individuals gathering near her location, presumably planning to strike the Dark-beast, and closest of them all was the male from before - her duel partner: the halberd-wielder Jericho, and with him a particular intriguing figure: a headless rider.

After passing through some ruined structures, in doing so avoiding the beast's attention, Maria made it to the duo, who were standing in an area slightly glowing yellow. As she approaches them, a strange feeling embraces every bit of her body, as her injuries begin to feel better. 'Some sort of healing magic, perhaps.' - she thought, and its source was clearly the rider itself. Upon close inspection, her face could not hide her interest towards the rider, who really did not have a head, but instead a mysterious cloud of black smoke where its head should've been. It was like nothing Maria had witnessed, not even once in her years of rigorous campaigning. The figure emits a sense of security and bliss, which seemingly emphasises the effect of the healing magic, while at the very same time stern and deadly.

"That thing sure is pissed alright, thanks to whatever that flash was . . ." - Maria spoke up, gesturing towards the raging beast with her left hand. "So, how shall we do this?"

"You have gravity powers. Use them." - Jericho answered her inquiry, and he continues. - "Maria, you hold down one of its pincers. Headless-lady, you and I are gonna hold down the other one. I'll give you guys a Shield aura, help you get close."

The man paused, as his eyes directed up the walls and he pointed in the direction with the tip of his halberd.

"The Guardians up on the wall may have a plan, so let's make it count. We hold it still until they can do their part, okay?"

"Yes. You can count on me with it." - She said. She was tired from channeling her power continuously in the day, but Maria was confident she could still squeeze out some more. Her grip tightened on the weapon, ready to dig deep into the beasts' nasty dark flesh. "Just keep those massive pincers away from me."

( Kabboom Kabboom Aryasaurus Aryasaurus Maria could use some healing, pl0z! )

Jericho
His orders ringing out loud and clear, Audaton prepares himself for a charge. Halberd in hand and helmet on head, Jericho lunged forward, voice roaring out as he charged his powers for three Shield auras. The night had been especially taxing on him, and if it weren't for him absorbing power from a few Light vials he'd "borrowed" from the medic from earlier, then he would've been on the ground, writhing in exhaustion and his own blood from over-exerting himself. His compatriots for the moment, the headless-lady and Maria, seem to have agreed on the battle plan, and are charging forward, with Maria's battlecry almost as fierce as his own, whilst the headless warrior obviously remains quiet.

But as he neared the point of violent contact, with Shield auras up around the trio, a familiar voice echoed in his ear, much to his dismay. Grinding to a shocking halt, and letting the two girls running ahead of him, Jericho turned around to a young Elf girl, casually walking towards him in the most carefree way imaginable. Mouth blabbering on about insignificant past events, mostly about how she basically yelled the guard into letting her go. Panicking at the back of his head, Jericho turned to face the girl, shedding part of his own Shield aura to form one around her instinctively, leaving the other warriors to combat the Cerebrate, which is thrashing wildly to combat multiple threats at once, with the flock of Darkwings beginning to form a shapeless fist, preparing to descend upon the Guardians on the wall.

"What did I tell you? Stay put! Didn't you hear me? It's dangerous! Spiders! Big!" He said to the girl, raising his arms to shoo her back. His vocabulary devolved into simple words, as he judged the mentality of this Elf. Moving close to her and holding her firm with his hands to prevent her from dashing away right at a raging Darkborne death-spider-monster-giant-creature, he spoke to her in a soft but firm voice. "Look, I know it's boring to stay put, especially with all this exciting stuff going on, but you have to do it! It'll hurt you, real bad, you might die!"

As if to prove his point, a rogue musket ball flew at the back of his head, being dissipated mostly by the Shield aura in the form of a blinding flash, before a very much neutralized ball of iron the size of a fingernail hit the back of his helm. The riflemen, along with the archers, are providing fire support onto the Cerebrate, although their shots are proving to be more harm than good. "Hold fire! Concentrate on flyers!" Jericho yelled at the men, shifting his attention away from the Elf girl at hand.

The first razor sharp leg of the Cerebrate came from his top right. Stepping to his left, he deflects the sword like limb in a shower of sparks, and keeps running. The force of the blow was enormous, and that was it not even paying attention to him. If he had tried to stop it, his axes wouldn't have been the only thing to break before the leg stopped. That only meant that Buras had to act faster, and kill the thing before it could do more harm than it already has. It certainly helped when a giant tried to throw the thing around. Not to mention all of the handy hand and foot holds that sprouted from the few soft spots along it's carapace, allowing him to either use them as a pivot or to climb with.

He was than content to just use the arrows and spears as a pivot, to quickly turn himself around or avoid a sawed limb. But then he noticed the tail poised to strike the giant, and it looked like he would have to use them to climb. Darting up the side of the Cerebrate, most of the arrows snapping as he pushed off them making this more or less a one way trip, Buras throws himself at the poised stinger. He could not stop it, if he tried he and the giant would be dead. And the giant was far to large for him to try and deflect it, it would more than likely still clip him. But perhaps his weight would throw off the things aim just enough. And if that failed, Buras would be in the perfect spot to begin hacking at the soft joints of the stinger.

The dullahan's all-seeing gaze sought out the incrusian girl who was being carried by the Knight. Turning for the Cerebrate, Eevie ran over to the two. Pulling out her parchment, she nimbly dodged the foes around her as she scrawled her message hastily. Tearing out the page, she shoved the book and quill away, and rushed forwards.

Her hand was the first to connect, a tap on the Knight's armour as she skidded to his front - ignoring whoever was now behind her - and held up the page for him to read. 'Hold her still, I'm a healer.' She had no time to write anything else on her way to them, and chucking the paper aside she gently raised her hands to hover off of the girl's body. A warmth then began to emit from her palms and a soft yellow glow glittered across the injured's body. The sensation was painless, and yet she would be able to feel as her wounds stitched themselves together, and bones being reset into place. Due to the proximity, the Knight's wounds - if he had any - would be healed as well. The process was only a few seconds, to which Eevie gave a slight bow as she dropped her hands.

Quickly she noticed the man who beckoned for her, and left the two with both their injures healed. "Hey. Let's work together and take this damn thing down, okay?" was the first thing that came out of his mouth, followed by, "How good are you with that whip?"

Eevie put her hands on her hips indignantly, black smoke thickening. 'Does he honestly want to have a discussion about my skills in the middle of this? Idiot.' Eevie took her whip in both hands, the bones of the spine groaning quietly under the sound of battle. As she did so, she noticed a woman approach them, passing through the healing aura she'd set up earlier. It was evident, on her face, the interest she had in the dullahan, and yet neither was it the time or place.

"That thing sure is pissed alright, thanks to whatever that flash was..." the newcomer said.

"You have gravity powers. Use them." the man responded, and then added. "Maria, you hold down one of its pincers. Headless-lady, you and I are gonna hold down the other one. I'll give you guys a Shield aura, help you get close."

'Headless- I mean, he isn't wrong, but still..' Eevie thought as she watched the two converse. 'Some dullahan prefer the term 'neurologically deficient'.' Mentally she laughed at her own stupid joke that no one would ever hear - she tried not to let that bother her, the world wasn't ready for the dead humour of a dullahan.

The man paused, as his eyes directed up the walls and he pointed in the direction with the tip of his halberd. "The Guardians up on the wall may have a plan, so let's make it count. We hold it still until they can do their part, okay?"

"Yes. You can count on me with it," the woman, Maria, said. She seemed tired as she tightened her grip on her weapon, but Eevie couldn't really blame her for it. "Just keep those massive pincers away from me."

With the plans decided, and Shield Aura cast, the trio charged towards the cerebrate. Just as Eevie was about the ready her whip, she noticed the man stop and turn back, though she had no time to find out why. It didn't matter, and she could hold the pincer down on her own - or, so her ego said. Lassoing her whip, she leapt aside and snagged the giant pincer and restrained the beast from her end. Black smoke billowed from her neck, strengthening her hold as it flooded down to her feet and hovering around her like a dense fog. Now only time would tell what was to come, with any luck, this would be over soon.

"Maria, you hold down one of its pincers. Headless-lady, you and I are gonna hold down the other one. I'll give you guys a Shield aura, help you get close."

Audun noticed the dullahan from earlier and a soldier attempted to pin down one of the pincers. The dullahan used her skeletal whip to lasso the pincer and hold it back. The two seemed to be handling the situation pretty well, but there was still another pincer left. General Maria appeared to be the one taking care of it. While the Cerebrate was powerful, Audun didn't doubt her abilities. He recalled that her powers involved some form of control over gravity from the stories. Audun would have to keep that in mind for future reference. Even though Maria could probably handle the pincer on her own, he was felt obligated to fight even if he begrudgingly did so. As Audun rushed the Cerebrate, he felt the darkness further engulf his body. His one exposed arm was covered with pulsing black veins and his body flowed with Dark Magic. Before Audun could land a strike though, a musket ball clanged against the side of his helmet, interrupting his charge.

The Nephilim turned to see various riflemen and archers shooting at the Cerebrate, and missing horrible. This annoyed Audun. What kind of soldiers these humans think they are? They couldn't even aim at the correct target. He scowled under the helmet and stared at group. His anger was starting to be aroused those that were supposed to be on his side.

"Hold fire! Concentrate on flyers!"

The soldier who proposed to secure the pincers shouted at the troops on the wall. He was obviously annoyed and there beside him was an Elvish girl, oblivious to the battle. She was a Guardian, based on the Light energy she gave off, but her age concerned Audun. The battlefield was not the place for children, especially those who don't know danger from safety. Audun let the soldier deal with the child; he wasn't here to babysit clueless girls. Instead, he looked up towards the Darkborne flyers that the soldier mentioned. They were charging towards a section of the wall containing several Guardians, including the magical hag. "Pests. Won't give me the chance the fight the Cerebrate, huh?"

Allowing the Dark Magic to flow through his legs, Audun made a powerful leap into the air towards the flyers. He glided towards the swarm and impaled three with a single thrust of his spear. He continued to use Entropy on another flyer to his right to negate the effect of the 3rd Law of Motion. This meant that when Audun used the creature as a foothold, it wouldn't fall under his weight, that is, until he stopped touching it. Repeating the process several times, Audun was able to strike down a decent chunk of their numbers before landing beside the Guardians on the wall. Audun was panting from using so much energy on turning flyers into stepping stones, and as his body used up all the Darkness that he took from the Cerebrate. "*Pant* What are you six doing up here? *pant* The Cerebrate is down there, and you*pant* damn cowards up here fiddling with a rifle?" Audun caught his breath and sensed a powerful source of magic emanating from an old mage's hands. "What's that you have there...a water crystal...wait...that's not like any water crystal I've ever felt before. A crystal that powerful would flood the town!"

Margot

After unceremoniously taking away one of the soldier's musket, Margot made her way back to Pryonn and, equally unceremoniously, handled the gun to him.

“Knight, it’s on you and one of my companions, the elemental girl, to make the barrel of this piece of garbage as durable as it is physically possible,” the sorceress said quickly, as always not even waiting for the answer from the man. “My friend will be here soon. She is also the most fitting person to wield this gun, as her body is significantly stronger than human’s.”

Hardly had the mage finished talking to Pryonn, when she reached to Phos through their mental connection.

“Elemental, listen carefully, I have a task for you…,” the mage started and then concisely explained the plan she had come up with to the girl. While doing that, she had walked away from the group, holding the crystal in her right hand. It was mostly for the comfort of the complicated work ahead of her, than anything else – were the crystal to activate by accident, they would most likely all die anyway.

With a move of her hand, Margot once again forced Tsunami to show its spell to her. A complicated construct of circles and runes appeared before it, the sophisticated enchantment presented to the mage in a way that allowed her to analyse the structure of spell.

‘Let’s see,’ the mage thought, as her fingers started carefully dancing between the lines of spell. “How do I make this useable…?”

She had barely started tinkering with crystal, as her work was interrupted. A group of Darkwings were flying her way, probably sensing the magic.

‘Fucking perfect,’ the sorceress thought, feeling fear coming up her throat. She was tired and fighting those things, while handling what basically equated to magical bomb, was a task beyond her strengths. But before she could even decide what she was about to do, her problem solved itself. Or, to be more precise, somebody solved it.

A winged man, wielding magic so complicated Margot failed to analyse it in the short time she had seen it in use, had quickly taken care of most of the attackers and landed on the wall, panting.

"*Pant* What are you six doing up here? *pant* The Cerebrate is down there, and you*pant* damn cowards up here fiddling with a rifle?"

‘You are here with us.’ Margot thought, as she was already preparing herself to argue with what supposedly was an angel, when the man’s attention shifted from complaining to something quite different.

"What's that you have there...a water crystal...wait...that's not like any water crystal I've ever felt before. A crystal that powerful would flood the town!"

Margot rolled her eyes. The elemental aura coming from the crystal was equally obvious to both magic users.

“Thank you, angel, I haven’t noticed.” The sorceress almost hissed, too tired to bother with the fact, that she was snapping at angel. “And cowards are the ones who flee from battle, not those who think before diving into it.”

Margot raised the hand that she kept the crystal on, not for a moment stopping introducing changes to the structure of the spell. “To answer your rather rude question - we want to use that crystal to fuel a water cannon of sort, that theoretically should be able cut through the Cerebrate’s armature, if done right.”

***

Whether the dialogue with angel continued or not, Margot had soon finished modifying the spell to the point she believed would be enough for executing the next part of the plan. The mage quickly made her way back to the two working on the gun and reached the hand with the crystal to them.

“It is ready.” Margot stated, before fidgeting somewhat uncomfortably. “It will now release water much more slowly. I… uh… didn’t have time to make it actually stop before releasing the entire water in it, but I’ll hopefully figure something out while we cut that scorpion fucker.”

‘Elemental,’ the mage added through the mental connection between them. ‘When you say ‘Command: Fire’ out loud, the crystal’s spell will activate.’

Hearthfall Season - Nightfall
Sashi
Rooftops, Frontierville

"...What are you six doing up here? ...The Cerebrate is down there, and you... damn cowards up here fiddling with a rifle?" - a voice emerged from an winged knight whose tainted presence quickly grabbed the attention of the druid, whose hands had lowered, having finished her anti-fatigue spells to aid her magician comrade.

"I leave the rest in your capable hands, o defenders." Sashi spoke, waving her hand as she turned away from the Guardians.

The druid found no reason to waste her words on the audacious angel's words, and gave herself into the immediate aerial threat heading their way. Without further words, she made a great leap from the wall to the nearby roofs and intercepted the Darkwings, leaving a great breeze in her jump. Sprinkling a handful of mana dust into the air, Sashi unleashed an array of wooden splinters at the Darkwings.

BOOM! POMF POMF POMF!

The air was filled with dust and colorful explosions that spread across the town like fireworks. Utilizing her agility and spells, the druid continued to cast her spells on the run, downing many of the winged creatures. She drew her sword and cut down those that were staggering from the brightness of her spells. With each swing, her rune sword disintegrated the Darkwings into fleeting dust, as their number dwindled. A necessity, she thought, to buy her comrades some time to deliver the final blow. She gave in to the heat of combat and spun like a whirlwind at the remaining aerial hostiles, cutting and blowing them to bits. Before long, the remaining Darkwings would turn up, and caught Sashi off guard, shredding parts of her robes, inciting her peripheral awareness. Whispering a few words to her standing sword, she covered her eyes and threw some more mana dust into the air. A few explosions followed, as the druid emerged from the smoke, and repeatedly throwing her swords about, cutting down as many as she can. As the Darkwings concentrated on her, she would cast her final spell, covering herself in mana dust and lobbing all her woodwork around her. She let her hands free and a gigantic explosion accompanied her fall from the air.

KAPOOOMF!

What remained of the Darkwing's elements were now cinders and fading ashes, as the druid landed on a haystack just on top of a nearby roof. She leaned against the wooden beam and took a breather. Her robes and flesh were now covered with cuts and scrapes, and Sashi had no more energy left in her to go on. She gave in to her fatigue, with her eyes sleazy and her hand reaching into her satchel. Her delicate white fingers withdrew a raw potato from its leather shelter and took a bite. The druid smiled, as she munches on her potato at the sight of the burning Darkwings and the clear path towards the Cerebrate.

"T'is my work concluded, for I am weary, O' Femosis, may your force guides them to the end and forgive me for my humane limitations."

Her weak voice extinguished, as she closes her eyes to the sound of screeching Darkwings and sporadic detonations among them. The lady in white, covered in hays and leaves in her platinum white hair, had taken refuge in her slumber.
