Miska Dunwich

"Oh, Mother preserve me"

Tired, was one word for how to describe Miska at the moment, having to fight off Darkborne, healing those who had been wounded in the scuffle, But he found it all to be worth it. If that meant another child wasn't to become an orphan today or a wife turned to a widow.

Seated outside the town hall on the building's steps, having decided that staying inside, would only put the already on-edge town's people in more distress, he understood that his aura was the cause of why his life could be so difficult at times, it made those who couldn't handle it, afraid of him (or worse) and it's effects were absolutley horrifying at times, his mother once even admitted to having had thoughts of killing him as an infant due to the aura's effect, only to be stopped every time by The Ocean Mother, reminding her that, the infant, was just that, an infant.

but thankfully over time, his aura grew to have less of an effect on his mother

Miska sighed as he remembered that most if not all of the deep ones had been sent back to their home dimension through death or by Miska himself, except for Stink Breath who had been able to find himself a nice well to make his temporary home. For a deep one so young, he was smarter than the average fish boy.

Hearthfall Season - Nightfall
Sashi
Townhall, Frontierville

Abilities Active / In-Use:
Pillar of Nightshade - Darkborne or Undead creatures suffers exhaustion and blood-drain. (2 x effect at night)
Pillar of Crimson Oak - Transforms any wooden entity into high-explosives red-woods that acts like cannons or mortars.

Navigating the streets of Frontierville, the druid ensured the safety of those she visits. As she watches the flames and distant cracks of battle, she could only deliver those who weren't able to survive with her prayers. Although she kept herself steady, the bitter sight of innocent lives trampled like grass left a stinging grip in her chest. Wasting no time, Sashi fought her way to the townhall, where the others were bound to have rallied. With a few swings of her rune sword, her lesser foes fell before her quickly. Her expeditious chants quickly blasted the goblins that stood in her way, incapacitating them, without needless bloodshed. Before long, she had cleared most of the alleys leading towards the townhall from her side of the village.

Her grey, sage-like eyes darted across the visible plaza at the sight of a ravager and a multitude of well-armed individuals who hindered its path of destruction. Sashi trailed her rune sword behind her as she zoomed through the street like a cheetah hurling its fangs at its prey, and picked up as much pieces of wooden logs along her way. Sliding across the plaza into the closest building to her, Sashi delivered her collection of scattered woods into the air and quickly chanted - turning the former logs of defense into an array of bright, red flashes that rained down on the ravager.

"Silent are the streets of red, wailing the dead as they bled.
O' Crimson Oak, engulf the darkness in your fiery cloak!"

POMF! POMF! POMF! BOOM!!

The cluster of crimson-dyed wood detonated upon impact against the Ravager's carapace, throwing it off balance, and rendering it stunned for a brief moment. While her Nightshade ability is active, the powerful Darkborne Ravager was still inclined to be affected by its exhausting effects. Accompanied by the presence of the night, the effect for her Pillar of Nightshade puts her at an advantage in speed and maneuverability. Sashi wasted no time to gain the high ground via a nearby roof and leaped forward at the Ravager, sprinkling a few mana dust on the ground around the huge, staggering scorpion. Gliding her way underneath its belly, she repeatedly lunge her sword upwards, prying its ventral abdomen for a weakness. While Sashi put her right hand on breaking its softer carapace, her left hand, full of mana dust, canvassed its belly indiscriminately. The upset Ravager, snapping back into action, launched its barbed stingers at Sashi, as she slid out from under its abdomen - to which she parried both its strikes with her sword and her flexible posture. As it retrieves its tails from the ground, Sashi held out her arm to be scratched by it as she moved around with great haste, dodging its next set of unrelenting stabs before finishing up her last set of chants with the blood that dripped from her arm.

She quickly stroke her rune sword against the ground, of which was marked with mana dust. As it charged at Sashi, the druid's sword had set a spark against a rock on the ground and set the trails of mana dust ablaze. The trail of flame ran through its dusty abdomen with great speed, and burned through its armored legs, as well as most of its lower abdomen, leaving it on two pairs of mobile, but terribly damaged legs. The druid would rally in the shadows of the streets, unrolling a set of linen bandages from her satchel and cleansed her minor laceration with a few drops from her home-mode alchemy concoction. The wounds quickly sealed up, but she knew the fight was not over, and that someone had to get through its tail defenses and deliver the final blows. Although she did not speaks her mind, of those who were present, the disintegrating armor of the Ravager was evident for most. The only obstacle was its operational tails.

Sashi quickly wrap up her wounds with the linens and enchanted her sword with a few chants. As she observed the guardians facing the lone ravagers from the shadows of the coupled houses, a familiar face struck her attention as her hands's assistance to the elemental-like figure betrayed her former self. Sashi disregarded her immediate acrimony, and evaluated the sorceress's intents. Her recollections and scrutiny of the mage placed her at a crossroads of questions.

"... the Enforcer in the Sacred Forest... a Guardian?"

She gave a long sigh, before shaking her head and gazed upon the starry sky, of which were filled with trails of smokes that enveloped the bright moon.

"O Femosis. My questions, your stars... a thousand, unending. What more will you have in store, for me, o Lord?"

Pryonn & Kaatl

"Yes!" Pryonn called in success, raising a fist into the air in triumph, the fairy on his shoulder mimicking the gesture with a smile. Stamping the banner into the ground, the knight bowed once again as Terra took her leave. Casting a questioning glance towards Kaatl, the knight nodded upwards to the torn remnants of his banner, feebly flapping with the winds. The fairy answered by raising her hand, giving a pronounced snap with her fingers, a magical spark escaping the digits to fly towards the tattered fabric.

"The tatter-flag goes snicker-snack!" The knight laughed as the fairy's magic restored strands of the banner, in just such a way that when fully flapping in the breeze, the torn fabric spelled out 'Lady Terra Lyons'. He would have to think of proper iconography for the background later.

Thus bearing his Dame's holy name, the knight took off to towards the battle ensuing near the wall-hole, where ravagers were already tearing at the hastily-erected defences.

Aoibhín; "Eevie"
Location: Front steps of the Town Hall
Tagging: billthesomething billthesomething

15 minutes earlier...

Eevie spent the next minute healing the troops that she had 'convinced' to fight with her. There were about a dozen of them, and their injuries weren't grave enough to exhaust them via her magic, which was thankful. Not many would think a harbinger of death would possess such a kind magic, it was written on their faces with their eyes wide as saucers and mouth agape. They spluttered and stammered out their thank you's, and worked for a moment to re-learn how to close their mouths.

The next few minutes passed with Eevie sharpening the blade at the end of her whip, concocting a few vials of potions that could aid her - which included a few healing potions and, thinking it could come in handy, five vials of a heavy sleep draught. It was as she was bottling up the last few, that the sound of a light canon firing broke through the temporary quiet. The troops jolted with a start, scrambling to their feet as Eevie hastily finished up what she was doing and put everything away. Grabbing her whip, the dullahan checked that her helm was secure, and motioned for the troops to follow after her.

"RAVAGERS! LIGHT PRESERVE US, RAVAGERS! MAN THE DEFENSES!" a voice shouted helplessly in terror, sending everyone into a frightened panic.

Ravagers, Eevie had only seen them from a far off distance with her sight as she scoured the land, though she had heard about them from old veterans telling tails to the children after a few too many ales. Breaking out onto the steps of the town hall, Eevie's sight allowed her to see the enemy force. It was not going to be an easy fight, but she was a Guardian for a reason, she had skill that surpassed others without a doubt.

"Get into formation! Go! Go! Go! Hold the walls!" She heard a man yell from by the wall. Eevie could familiarize this voice by the same man who had been leading the battle earlier. The soldiers, at his words, seemed to recover from their panic and rushed back towards the wall, preparing themselves. Eevie's sight manages to spot the man calling the shots from within the plaza. "Alright people, these Darkborne look tough, but they have a weakness. If we can get to their-" but he couldn't finish his sentence, he was cut-off by a Ravager breaking through the newly repaired wall. Debris goes flying, taking out many people.

'Their what?!' Eevie thought with frustration, gripping her whip tightly as she watched the debris go by. Her gaze darted around, looking for anything or anyone in need - her idea was that if everyone around her was fine, she would run towards the plaza centre and heal those who got hit - when her eyes landed on the cultist from earlier. She still didn't know his name, but that didn't matter. He was sitting on the steps, a few away, but she approached him nonetheless. She contemplated whether she should write something, but opted with lightly touching his shoulder to try to gain his attention. Perhaps they could fight together? Even she wasn't so cocky as to think she could fight alone in this battle; it might be even wiser to form a group with a few other stronger fighters.

Miska felt a hand grip his shoulder and was pleasantly surprised to see it was Eevie, "Ah, Eevie, it is nice to see you once more" Miska stood up and quickly dusted himself, and took note of the second invasion it's amazing how lost in thought he can be at times "I assume you need my assistance in dealing with the Darkborne?" he didn't wait for her to respond and instead walked towards an adjacent well.

"My friend, it seems like the town is in need of us once more" he called down into the well, and after a few moments, water began to erupt from the fountain as if it were a geyser.

"FOR THE MOTHER!" came the Battlecry of Stink Breath, who leaped out of the well with his trident in hand, ready to protect the innocent by stabbing things. "Boss, Who Me Fight?" S.B asked curiously, Miska was quick to point towards the hoard of Darkbornes, but Miska stopped him from charging, "Stink Breath, I need you to be with me & Eevie, I can't risk summoning more deep ones and not be able to protect the town" The deep one tilted his head and Miska quickly motioned towards Eevie, The Fish Boy nodded and leapt over toward the Dullahan. "Me Stink Breath, Happy boss have friend" They were quickly joined by Miska "You'll Led and we'll follow"

"So everyone has retreated huh?" Erik stops his barrage as soon as everyone retreated back in the safety of the walls. To press on would just give his position away to the horde of monsters down below. After a moment's reprise, the defenders ran back out, intercepting more and more of the invading monsters until the majority of these laid dead on the village floor.

It was a phyrric victory. The monsters had been routed but considerable damage was done on the viilage's walls, houses and structures. Not to mention the stench of the fallen monsters would linger in the air for some time; a harsh reminder of the long night of battle. Erik leaned back on the tree he sat at, making himself slightly comfortable. At daylight, the group can move out and his true assignment will begin.

Gon'gon stood up, he was hurted, after fighting that many darkborne alone, he couldn't kill them all and get out unscathed, he summoned 2 fire elementals, and when to retreat, but then, a Ravager, stood infront him, tall as it was, towering even fire elementals, his elementals began hurling fireballs at the Ravager, but it didn't seem to be hurted at all. The Ravager then, beheaded a fire elemental with its pincer, while enduring the fire, and turned its attention towards Gon'gon.

Gon'gon, hurled fireballs, iceballs, wind arrows, and earth spikes to the Ravager, but it didn't cause any real damage. The Ravager tried to stab Gon'gon with one of its scorpion-like tails, Gon'gon dodge it, and summoned 2 ice elementals to fight the Ravager.

The ice elementals 1519340941778.png holded the Ravager's pincers, while the fire elemental1519384568176.png bombarded it with fireballs, but this attempts were futile, the Ravager simply stabbed both ice elementals with its tails, one after the other, in the head, the sound of crystal shattering, and there was only a pile of melting ice.

Gon'gon then started to run, his fire elemental die as quickly as the ice ones, and the Ravager was now charging at him, he tried to fly, but the moment he leaved the floor, hordes of darkwings appeared. The Ravager began running faster and faster, and when it was about to bisect Gon'gon with its pincers, an Ice elemental lifted it, revealing its exposed belly, the ice elemental was under heavy attack, being stabbed again and again, several cracks were formed in it's big body, Gon'gon had to strike now.

The spear penetrated deep into the flesh, the Ravager let out a loud shriek, grabbed the elemental with both pincers and splitted it in half, it then, turned it's attention towards Gon'gon, the Ravager was still bleeding, but the attack made more angry. The Ravager hit Gon'gon with the flat part of it's left pincer, sending him flying.

Gon'gon landed besides a knight, with pure white armor, and a little girl with wings, "Help... Me..." Gon'gon said, the Ravager was charging to them at full speed, with angry eyes, and bleeding profusely.

Jericho
Reeling from the knockout blow, Jericho felt a numbing pain in his skull, where the debris hit him. His helm was literally pressing into his forehead now, proof of its poor quality. Whoever the hell he bought this from, most likely scammed him. Junk like this would be less than free. Reaching his left hand up to remove his rooked helm, forcing it off due to the crooked shape, Audaton's short hair now flies freely, with some muck and blood sticking to it. As he begins trying to get up, some figure grabbed him by the shoulder and did it for him. "There are beasts that need killing", he said.

Taking a closer look at his "savior", Jericho immediately noticed his Elf-like features, especially the myriad of tattoos that run across his body, and his Elf ears, obviously. Gripping his spear in hand, he was seemingly looking for a target. In this battlefield, targets don't need a lot of looking to find. Quick work from a druid of some kind has damaged one Ravager, lighting it aflame and disabling two of its legs. The gigantic scorpion seems mostly unfazed, however, shifting rapidly in an effort to extinguish the flames in its underbelly. Somewhere else, an eagle Incruscan has been wounded by a Ravager, having done not enough damage to kill it, leaving it bleeding out a pitch-black substance from its underbelly, but still being very much alive. Elsewhere, a cloud of Darkness is beginning to envelop the Cerebrate, as Darkwings continue to pour out of its hide, beginning to thicken the already dark sky.

His energy renewed by the 15 minute nap, he begins springing into action. As a suggestion, he told the Elf, "Help the guardsmen, keep them out of harm's way, they'll do no good in close combat against these things," before channeling his ability, Shield, protecting a cadre of guardsmen engaging in said combat. An aura of dark blue begun surrounding the men, vibrating and sparking brightly with each slash and strike from the Ravagers' pincers. The guardsmen, noticing this aura, have not a fear left within them, and instead of retreating, are pushing forward with their fight. Exactly the opposite of what Jericho wanted them to do.

Drawing his gun, Dante, he fires a Boomshot into the Ravager's face, serving only to grab it's attention. He would've fired a Pierceshot if he had time to load it, but his Shield wasn't going to last long, since he wasn't prepared to hold it against such an intense fighter as the Ravager. Angered, the colossal scorpion craned its tails at him, firing off poisonous quills as it begins turning its whole body for a charge at him. "Get back! NOW!" yelled Jericho to the guardsmen, who are not responding quickly enough. Taking away their auras, he concentrated one dense Shield for himself, after deflecting the quills with a few swipes from his halberd, with expert training in mind.

"Cut the tails! That's their weakness! Where the tails meet the body, cut it there!" he yelled out to everyone within earshot, having realized that he hadn't filled them in on the things' weakness, before charging headfirst at the angered Ravager. As it closed to killing distance, he pointed his halberd upwards, catching its left pincer as it comes down. The impact virtually pushed the man into the street, with his aura sparking bright as the sun for a split second, as he threw the pincer behind him with a flick, and landing a superficial slice on the pincer joint, where the arm meets the body.

Ducking low and continuing his charge, running underneath, seeking to cover the lengthy underside before the thing could shift direction. Thankfully, due to it charging in the opposite direction he's charging, the sweet weak spot, the tail joint, came to him quicker than thought. Swinging upwards as fast he could, his hammer head smashing the underbelly carapace and puncturing into the weak spot, but not causing enough damage. The thing shook violently, its momentum coming to a quick halt, as its pincers pushed themselves into the ground, unearthing the cobblestone pavement, before turning around quickly for its signature counterattack maneuver, a deadly sideways pincer cut. Learning from bitter experience, Jericho kept low and continued charging, mostly dodging the attack, although another bright spark erupted behind him as the aura takes further damage from the glancing strike.

As the thing roared at him and prepared for another charge, a Light-shell smacks directly into one of its tails, staggering it. "Too high, you fool! Load another, quick!" rang out a voice from the walls, echoing from a Light-cannon crew, heeding Jericho's advice but not having enough skill to exercise it. Having found an easier target, the Ravager forgets Jericho, and makes a beeline straight for the gun, its undamaged tail flinging a departing gift at Jericho, missing him due to lack of focus.

But as the man was about to give pursuit, a pack of Darkwings descended on him, their lithe claws smashing against the Shield, letting out tiny flashes of light. Drawing his shortsword, Jericho had to clear himself of these winged pests before he could do anything else. Alternating sword slashes and halberd swipes, the Darkwings dropped quickly, their frail bodies no match for such weapons, but more keep coming. Soon enough, his Shield will break, and it won't be pretty when they break through it. Moving backwards, Jericho begun giving out grunts and sharp exhales as he swung his weapons around, trying to funnel more power into the Shield, albeit at the cost of his energy.

"Here is your chance to prove you can be trusted, Tenet. Do your part of the deal and we'll do ours."

The promise of freedom beyond the shackles, chains, and brightly lit room they had confined him in for years was a desire that left the corrupted human being quivering in his skin. All he needed to do was listen to whatever the arrogant light-walkers wanted and he would be free from their hunting parties. He would be free to just live his accursed life in peace. They gave him simple orders. Light-walkers knew that Tenet could not understand complicated things. Darkborne were attacking the city and they gave him his first order. They pointed their fingers and told Tenet to kill. He could that. He was good at that. He was starving and absorbing the energy from his distant kin would be exactly what he needed.

The Vile being sprinted towards the sounds of battle in the city. The night was dark and welcoming to someone like him. Tenet wasted no time in putting his head in the proper mindset for battle and in doing so, evolved from his basic, pale form into the shadowy being of malice that he was. He headed towards the area where it sounded the loudest. Where the most Darkborne and Light-walkers were fighting. The corrupted man could sense the clashing auras of dark, light, and nature in the center of the city.

It took mere moments before the dark-touched being rounded the corner and laid eyes upon his prey. The light-walkers were engaged with the bigger, insect-like Darkborne that Tenet had never laid eyes upon. They looked incredibly powerful and under normal circumstances, definitely a fight Tenet would flee from. But his freedom was on the line and there were plenty of Darkborne that Tenet could easily kill. Before he could even think of engaging those big ones, he needed to eat. Now.

The feral dark-kin approached slowly, methodically at first towards a male light-walker who was surrounded by winged Darkborne while currently engaged with one of the insect-like monsters. The Darkwings were completely distracted by the potential prey in front of them that they did not notice the strange energy signature that approached them at high speed, which felt similar to their own...but not. It wasn't until Tenet was within jumping distance that he let loose a terrifying roar of hunger-induced rage. The enraged battle cry wasn't something that could be called human. It was completely bestial in nature, made only more unnerving by the malefic distortion caused by the transformation he was in. If the Darkwings weren't aware of his presence before, they were now and it was far too late.

With unnatural strength, the corrupted being leaped into the air at the nearest, low-hanging Darkwing and sank his black claws into the flesh of the raptor-like avian. Tenet came crashing down to the earth once more in a tangled mess of dark mist, black blood, and leathery skin. With a hard pull, a wing was torn off, followed by the other before he finally sank his sharp teeth into creature's head and bit down with enough force to crush it completely. The Darkwing died instantly and faded into the dark energy that it was made up of. But rather than dissipating, the energy flowed directly into The Vile, causing his crimson features to glow brightly for a moment as he absorbed the energy.

Now, that he had gotten a taste, he realized how truly starved he was. They kept him locked up for years, only feeding him the bare amount of scraps for him to survive. Tenet felt himself succumbing to the corruptive instinct and only barely managed to contain himself, due to his current mission. One after another, the Darkwings swooped down to take pieces out of him, their focus now shifted, and while they succeeded, it wasn't without sacrifice. For every gash that appeared Tenet's charcoal skin, a Darkwing's head would get ripped off. For every drop of his black blood that was spilled, a Darkwing was torn to sunders and absorbed into Tenet's being. He was so focused on feeding that hardening his skin to negate the damage these Darkborne were causing did not occur to him.

With their numbers dwindled, Tenet switched targets to the growling Darkwolves that were engaged with the light-walker knights. He wasted no time in tackling them, one by one to the ground in a mass of claws, teeth, growls, and blood. It would be clear to any watching that this particular dark being was not interested in the Lightborne, as there were multiple occasions where he ran right past or jumped over knights/guards to get to the objects of his fervor.

@ whoever the hell wants? I guess?

Pryonn & Kaatl

"Where there is darkness, I am might!" Called the armored figure as he stepped beside the downed bird-man, thrusting his banner-lance at the onrushing ravager. So ravenous in its charge, the creature cared little for the spear that drove deep into its opened maw, its assault unabating as it slammed into the knight. Carrying him forth with the force of its charge, mandibles scratching on his armored chest, the beast aimed its bulk towards a nearby wall, intent on crushing the knight beneath its sheer weight.

The wall gave cracks, groaning menacingly as the gargantuan scorpion's form crashed Pryonn into the stone with bone-crushing might, mandibles and pincers blindly attempting to rip through whatever ruptures his armor had suffered. Wedged between stone and chitin, metal tearing and bones bending, it appeared bleak for the knight.

Momentarily amused by his compromised position, the knight laughed, trickles of blood escaping his helmet as he continued to sing "Whosoever's part of evil's night!" his spear pierced deeper into the monster, making it waver, struggling to keep pressing its bulk upon him "Behold my power-" Within the monster's innards, the spear's iron-tip suddenly flared, expanded, splitting into multitudes of shrapnel-pieces "- justice's light!" the ravager gave a confused roar, rearing back as within its plated form shards of metal rampaged, shredding innards, muscles, organs alike.

Grievousely injured, uncontrollably twitching as a small iron-storm raged within its shell, the monster desperately attempted to regain its balance, turning in confusion, its legs robbed of unison, spouts of blood escaping through chitin-plates. As the knight rose to his feet, the creature fell, rolled onto its back, multitude of limbs flailing and moving without aim. With its wounded belly exposed, Pryonn didn't hesitate, swinging his spiked flail into its bare flesh. With a sickening sound akin to the squashing of rotten vegetables, the monster's belly ruptured, causing its torn and shredded viscera to spill forth, ending its struggle.

Retrieving his spear, the blood-stained knight turned towards Gon'Gon. "Hail there, feathered one!" he laughed in direction of the bird-man, the knight only emboldened by his own wounds as a fairy emerged to retake her seat upon his shoulder. Triumphantly, Pryonn planted his flag upon the ravager's corpse, wooden butt tearing into exposed viscera with a disgusting sucking sound as the flag flapped to spell out Lady Terra Lyons "Another victory! This creature I offer to my dearest Lady!"

Kaatl, worry clear upon her face, hastily tried to scrub away the myriads of bodily fluids staining the knight's helmet.

Leafa

"Daddy... mommy... take me back... home...", still trapped in the blackness of her head, Leafa kept hearing the same familiar screams over and over again... until, in the middle of the darkness, a blurry image appeared. It was... human-like, and it was laying down, but that was the only thing Leafa's simple mind could make up out of it, she could also distinguish shades of green, brown, white... and a little bit of red... the young elf was confused by this image, she had no idea what it was or who it was, until something popped up in her head, she knew who it was, she was absolutely sure, "Is that... It is! Hey! Come help me-"

BANG! BOOM!

Leafa slowly opened her eyes, she quickly noticed she was laying down on the cold stone ground, from not too far away she could hear loud noises. "Yellow hair... Where are you? Is there another fight? More doggies?", she tried to get up, but her legs wouldn't let her, no matter how many times she tried she would always end up falling down, the young girl was already exhausted, so the constant trying to get up only made it worse, she felt she could pass out again, this time from exhaustion. "No... no more darkness... someone... help...", she felt her eyes getting heavy again, but before she could close her eyes once again, a breeze of wind appeared out of nowhere, blowing in a specific direction, "Mommy always told me... hurts will heal with time... a simple arrow won't kill the bear... and... follow the wind... it will help... you", crawling, Leafa followed the breeze that almost seemed to guide her, she was led onto the battlefield, the breeze blew in the direction of a tall man with brown hair, she kept following the breeze until she reached the man's foot.

"Tall one... have you seen Yellow hair? Please, I cannot get up... I'll try to help you, please protect me..." Leafa felt calmer near the man, her heart didn't beat as faster as before, and the fear of falling asleep again suddently vanished. Awaiting for his response Leafa noticed a strange winged creature heading her way, it was ready to strike and devour her in pieces. "Deep breaths Leafa... You can do this!", she took a deep breath and shot an arrow, it completely missed the creature, as it got closer and closer fear started to come back to her, Leafa closed her eyes and awaited the worse, but, when she opened her eyes, the creature was laying on the ground, dead, the arrow had somehow hit it.

Maria
The defenders of Frontierville swiftly sent the remaining packs of Darkwolves and Runners routing into the dark forest from whence they came with a decisive charge. Maria herself was on the first rank, where the beasts but up a desperate yet ferocious resistance. Wolves came at her packs after packs, for it was only normal that the creatures of Darkness was drawn towards the one with greater Light energy - like a Guardian. The first few beasts were quickly deflected and violently flung aside by her Gravity Aura, but her ability could only do so much. Though they are weak individually, the wolves were numerous and effectively mounted counter-attacks in packs. But despite their effort, the Lightborne emerged victorious. And just as the warriors sounded their cries of cheer and workers started patching the gap on the wall, Maria feel to her knees, her arms resting on her bardiche. Her legs felt weak, her arms tired. Her mind was exhausted from the continuous use of her power. Dried out blood littered on her face and armour, blood of the beasts mixed with the warriors' into a dark, sticky cocktail. It let off a repugnant smell, that blended into the smell of the air after the battle.

But they were not allowed rest for long.

With a cry of a Sergeant from atop the walls, the barricaded gap was broken through again. The Ravagers have arrived, leading small packs of gathered Runners and Darkwolves with them. Massive creatures resembling scorpions but with 2 tails. They were always considered to be one of the most dangerous types. The attack was not yet over. Maria got up on her feet and promptly spearheaded a group of men-at-arms and musketeers to intercept the rampaging Ravagers. Though with the hardness of their hide, invulnerable to even powerful Lightshells, aided by their sheer ferocity and speed, the defenders would not be successful in attacking the beasts via conventional methods.

The creatures had to be attacked in a certain way - this Maria knows well, from her previous encounters with the Dark beasts. They had to be targeted at where the tails meet the body. Although their weakness is known, it was difficult to approach and exploit this, as the beasts maintained a balance between spinning, slashing its tails to defend against fearless attackers, and wrecking havoc with its pincers.

One of them was near Jericho when a lightshell landed right on its tail, missing the weak-spot just a bit. The creature knew this, and it started crawling furiously towards the walls, where a cannon had managed to hit it. Inconveniently, Maria and 4 fighters, those who had managed to stick with her throughout the fight, were on the Ravager's path.

The Ravager quickly closed the distance between them with terrifying speed, but Maria was not far behind. Channeling her power once more, she forced one of the creature's tails onto the ground. The intense force applied to the tail literally squished it into the dirt, and ideally the creature would be forced to a halt. Whoever, this Ravager was already coming at them too fast, that its momentum proved to be far greater than the crushed tail could handle. As a result, the tail was torn off clean. The Ravager let out a haunting screech as it turned and rampaged towards Maria's group. The warriors weren't going to make it in time, the Ravager was already too close to them. With a swing of her arm, the 4 warriors were flung away from the scorpion's path. After bringing them out of certain death's way, Maria quickly threw herself to the side, just in time as the beast, enraged by pain, stumbled through their previous location and crashed into a nearby house. The violent dive had her landing roughly through some debris, Maria felt a sharp pain around her chest, as she begun to find her breaths heavier and more difficult.

Using up whatever strength she had left in her, she crouched up, and with the aid of the debris and roof tiles already collapsed onto the Ravager, she applied more force to them, in an attempt to - at least - temporarily hold the creature down.

She called out loudly, as the jolting pain intensified around her chest.

"I-I need some help over here!"

Gon'gon stood up, he was hurt, his left wing was mangled, and he had a heavy bruising were the Ravager hit him, but he wouldn't be a former royal guard if such wounds would stop him to fight, he turned to the knight, a flag in the belly of dead Ravager, Gon'gon walked towards the man, he picked his spear, and began using his magic to heal himself.

After he was enought healed, he walked towards the man, his wing still mangled, and the bruise only became a bit smaller, but he was strong enough to fight, he then placed his hand in his shoulder, "I will heal you, just sit down" He told to the knight, and began using his magic again to heal him.

After they were completely healed he presented himself, "Greetings, i am Gon'gon, former royal guard of the eagle queen" He told to the knight, he then began summoning all his 8 elementals, two of each element, 2 Ice elementals, 2 Fire elementals, 2 Earth Golems and 2 Wind Elementals.

Gon'gon then saw around them, they were surrounded by darkbornes, runners and dark wolves, darkwings and goblins, all of them prepared to tear them to pieces, but this time Gon'gon had all his 8th elementals with him, and he wouldn't fall that easily.

"I guess we don't have time to speak" He told, he gripped the spear with one hand, and prepared the other to cast spells. The ice elementals were prepared, their left hands was an ice spike ready to stab things to death, while their right hand resembled a hammer, the fire elementals formed fireballs in their hands, the earth golems prepared to maul to death any monster.

Esta Faeven
Esta slid a dagger from her belt. After palming it for a few seconds, she sent it flying at a goblin, stabbing the beast through the eye. It slid to the ground with a high pitched whine, and Esta bounded over the body. From the battle across the grounds, she could hear the panicked screams of men and monsters alike as they suffered various blows. She could see various Gaurdians recieve blows, and in turn killing the Darkborne who dealt them.

As she rejoined the flock of men and Guardians, she felt herself sway precariously. Black flashed across her vision for a fleeting second, then she regained her sharper senses. The battle had ended, with cries of victory sounding across the field. She dropped to a knee, looking into the eyes of a dying soldier. A moment's silence, then a sharp crack rang out, and the men around the breach went flying back.

Giant scorpions scuttled out of the newly widened gap, their tails swinging wildly. Esta pushed herself to her feet as a new wave of creatures came flooding into Frontierville.
"What the hell?" she thought. Just as the thought flitted through her mind, she was sent flying through the air as a Runner tackled her. The filthy creature smacked Esta's head against the ground, stunning the girl. She recoiled, reeling from the attack and struggling to unsheath her hunting knives.

With enourmous effort, Esta finally grabbed ahold of a small dagger, which she used to drive into the Runner's shoulder. Black shadows swirled out of the wound as the creature squealed. Esta managed to knock an elbow into its throat, causing it to choke. Finally, she whirled and slit its throat. Black blood spurted into her face, making her even more grimy than she already was. She curled her lip and heaved the body off. After a moment of shock, she pulled the shadows around her, blending into the night. The two foes lay side by side, one twitching in death throes, and the other almost invisible, gasping for breath.

Hearthfall Season - Nightfall
Margot, Spessartite, Sashi
Townhall, Frontierville

Hardly had Margot and Phos left the relatively calm insides of the town’s hall, when they were engulfed with the chaos of another battle. On one of their sides an eagle man was commanding a bunch of soulless elementals made with magic, steering them against one of the…
“Ravagers...” Margot said with a grim amusement. Her back still hurt, but even this little time she had spent in healing circle were enough to shake off confusion, that being nearly trampled left in her mind and her sarcasm was coming back to her. As she awaken her magic again, magician couldn't help but remark: “This day just keep getting better. What’s next? Fallen angels? Eldritch horrors?”

“For the Mother!” A slimy creature jumped out of the well with a trident in its hands and started poking it around, apparently trying to protect civilians against the new danger. Then it talked to the man in a hood, who… radiated with eldritch energy, though he also seemed pretty friendly in contrast to the aura he oozed with.
“I… I... “ Margot was speechless at first, but then she only shook her head and looked at Phos. “We should probably take on one of those Ravagers. Are you up for it?”
The elemental grinned at her, pounding on her chest with a solid thud. “Oh I can alright! I’ll beat that thing into the ground six feet under, or do we have another plan?”

***
Having tended to her wounds, and having her sword pulsating with the rhythm of magic, Sashi surfaced from the streets, joining the two Guardians, whose combat stance were ahead of their thoughts. Her initial display of martial and magical capabilities apparently caught the attention of the mage and her elemental companion. Sashi bypassed her former foe’s sight, reserving the score to return later, shifting her words to the form of a casual understanding.
“Its armored tails still remain. What do you two say, should we form a cohesive attack on the beast?”
The Earthen-woman turned her head to looked down at the sword wielding druid, her socketed gems focusing on her. She was a bit confused on the garb, but then again everyone looked strange to her when it wasn’t normal clothing found at a cheap cost. “Co-he-sive?” They tilted their head, confused about the unknown word
The mage also looked confused, though for reasons Sashi suspected to be quite different from those of elemental. The sorceress gave druid a very long, indifferent stare before turning to her companion.

“Cohesive, as in ’together’” Margot explained briefly before focusing her attention on the Ravager Sashi had fought with earlier. She likely noticed the damaged shell, that usage of explosive mana dust left. Her brows frown, as if she was thinking about something intensely, before she spoke again, with a tone matching that of a commanding officer: “Good job with that one, druid. I think we will be able to take it down now. Phos, the ability you have used earlier to trap that Hammergrazer. Use it on Ravager’s legs to slow it down.”
As the explanation rolled quickly off the mage’s tongue the elemental would take out the important parts to remember. Together. Trap legs and hold. “Alrighty, I can do that!”
“Be wary of its tails, they still pose a conceivable threat.” Sashi remarked sensibly, only to be rewarded with mage’s irritated gaze.
“Yes, I was getting to that.” Margot raised her hands and started drawing two violet circles aiming at the two women before them. Sashi tensed a bit, seeing her magic in use, but it didn't seem like the mage was readying herself to attack them. In few short seconds sorceress was done and murmured something unintelligibly.
“Done. I’ve established a telepathic link between us, but it requires a conscious agreement of user to activate.”

Sashi closed her eyes for a brief, fleeting moment, before turning her attention to the sorceress, with a few shimmers in her grey eyes. “‘Tis done, mage. So long as this assists in our common goals, I have no quarrels.” said Sashi as she gave her rune sword a few swing to warm up her wrist, while her other hand, free in its course gathers whatever mana she still possess within. Channeling her concentration of energy, Sashi murmured a few chants, calming her two companions, and dispelled any weary sensation they might have had before.
The mage only nodded to druid’s response, already forming another spell. It would seem, that ‘no’ was not really an answer she had taken under consideration. With Sashi’s magic, movement of her fingers was seemingly less hectic than before. With a jump, sorceress got into the air and started flying between the buildings, attempting to circle the Ravager, while the other two women jumped into the fray.

Few moments later her figure appeared on the night sky, visible only to those with eyes better than human’s. From the distance, Sashi could not see what see was doing, but it was apparent that she was creating another spells. Suddenly flashes of amethyst light engulfed her hands and a booming voice sounded in the heads of other women.
“Now!”
As mage’s spell activated about a dozen shining lines of light cut through the darkness of night. Ropes, made of pure mana, tangled themselves around twin tails of Ravager and Margot jerked her hands, forcing the terrifying organic blades to bend backwards, revealing the weak spots on the bases of the tails.

As the signal went off and the glowing tendrils flew from the mage, Spessartite had every indication it was time. She raised her knee to her chest in a wind up before stomping her foot into the street, the ground cracking as her influence spread through it towards the Ravager. All at once the remaining legs of the beast would sink into the ground and be clamped upon by the earth itself, the elemental now concentrating to keep it still as it thrashed and roared at its restraints.
Sashi sprinted towards the Ravager, picking up as many pieces of remaining woods as she could, before breaking right towards monster’s flank and staking them into the exposed crevices among the lines of its rear carapace. A few phrases would exit her lips, sealing the delivery with a touch of the ancient language. Bashing against its armor, Sashi threw her sliding backwards, giving room to a few bursts of colorful explosions to follow, before lifting her heel and springing back into the fight with great speed, like an arrow finding its target. Her sword hurled itself forward, finding the softer end of its badly damaged abdomen. Enchanted with alchemical substances and magical chants, the rune sword quickly cut through the Ravager’s exposed pair of tails , thanks to the mage’s efforts, before further combusting from the enchantment’s effect. A few sparks of green and red flickers dotted its rear, before Sashi gave her own strength a go at the now limping pair of tails, leaving a gap of which her elemental companion would exploit.

“Phos! The shell on the rear is weakened. Tear a hole in its armour!” Mage’s voice sounded in their head, once again barking orders. “I will stop it from moving.”
Magic shimmered in the ground under Sashi’s feet and another set of amethyst tendrils shot out of it, going over the Ravager’s body, and tightening suddenly, pinning the giant scorpion to the ground. With earthen bounds left by the Phos before, the monster could barely even fidget now.
As the mage did her work the possessed rock formation moved in, running as fast as their hundreds of pounds of solid minerals and such would carry her. The girl tried not to waste too long making a weapon as she grabbed at the ground, pulling out a handle they were forming and stretching it to a good five feet long. Once they approached the face of the Ravager they withdrew the head of the solid tool from the earth, a hammer face on one side and an ax on the other, they would slam it into a claw that tries to stop them. The beast would screech and thrash as its chitin cracked slightly, but the elemental paid it no mind as it jumped up and stepped onto their back as they continued to run. Once Phos reached a meter away from the gap, where two tails once connected to the rest of body, they run along the Ravager’s back to wind up one more time and use the momentum they built up to jump up. All at once the elemental came down, hammer head turned and now the ax came with her down to the beast, pulverizing and splitting its way deeper into the giant beast’s gap. With their job done they vaulted past the rear of the beast and landed on the ground, looking back to see her job well done with a smile.

Circling around for another wave of attack, Sashi followed up on the sizeable crevice of a gaping wound, produced by her companion. Chucking a few pieces of enchanted wood inside the hollow end of the beast, Sashi immediately ran by her chants, and dashed from its body in a great leap that threw her in the air, as a line of explosions followed, blasting the Ravager’s remains like a cache of colorful firework misfiring in every direction. As the Druid was rocketed away, Spessartite moved in and began to nervously move back and forth trying to predict their landing. Finally, and luckily, the stone woman caught her in a sort of bridal carry to avoid smashing the Druid’s face against her stone chest. “O-oh, hey there!” Phos truly was a master of the spoken language. Sashi raised her thumb, with a smile carved across her dirty face.
Margot landed next to them, slightly less gracefully than one would expect. Her hands shook, weakly, but noticeably, as if she had just finished lifting a heavy weight. She brushed her sweated her of her forehead and let down a long sigh.

The three now had a moment to admire their work and wind down a little bit, but they knew that the fight was far from over yet.

The sounds of battle continued throughout the night, growing in intensity. Tenet was just getting done chewing through a Darkwolf's throat when the thunderous sound of a building crashing down reached his ears. His body dripped in blackened blood, both his own and from his kills. The crimson red glow his body gave off hummed with the energy stolen from his kin. His mind was in a better place now that his hunger was partially sated. The corrupted was capable of thinking clearly now in the chaos and it was only now that he realized that thundering sound was only several dozen feet away. Just ahead, Tenet could sense one of the large, insect-like beings that he had spotted earlier around the city. It seemed to be wounded and was being forced to the ground by some kind of magic. Fighting one of the big ones while healthy was certainly not a good idea but this one was wounded. Wounded prey was always an easier hunt, though more dangerous. The moment Tenet sank his claws into it, the beast would lash out in a final, desperate attempt to survive. Much like Tenet had done in the past against those light-walkers that pursued him.

The dark man dug his clawed feet into the stone beneath him and willed his body to harden. His skin, teeth, and claws became both like a living armor and a living weapon, much like the Ravager's own armored carapace. The shadowy mist that enveloped his frame began to whip around like a storm as the promise of a good hunt finally began to sink in to his mind. This would be the biggest kill he's ever claimed and the thought excited him. Tenet wasted no time in sprinting towards the side of a building and jumping at its walls, using his claws to dig into the material and scaling up to the roof. From there, The Vile bound across rooftops towards the downed creature which was now regaining its strength, despite the force bearing down upon it. The moment it was in sight, Tenet wasted no time and jumped off the top of the adjacent building, claws ready to sink into his prey. Unbeknownst to him, the force bearing down upon the Ravager was gravity and it gave him an unintended impact boost as he entered its field of influence and was propelled into the creature's hardened carapace.

Tenet's claws sunk deep into the macro-scorpion's armored shell and while the claws did not actually harm the inside, the sheer impact of a gravity propelled, armored Tenet was like getting struck with a wrecking ball. The blow could be heard from dozens of feet away and definitely served to enrage the fallen beast, throwing completely into survival mode. The Ravager reared its vile maw into the night sky and let loose an ear piercing screech of pain and anger, breaking what was left of the building. Tenet let loose a terrifying roar of his own, challenging the creature to do its best to make this fun for him. The Ravager spilled out onto the street with a hunting frenzied Tenet upon its back trying to claw his way through the creature. He was chipping away at its armor with one arm while desperately hanging on with the other as the insect monster thrashed about to throw him off. It crashed through a second building, and then a third in its attempts, reaching up with its pincers to try and grab him off but to no avail. It wasn't until the Ravager leaned down and whipped its functional tail back, that Tenet dismounted from the beast, allowing the thing to skewer its own hide.

The Ravager let out a scream of agony at its own folly, imbalanced by pain and Tenet would not let the opportunity go. The Ravager spun around clumsily, trying to use its tails to blow the shadowy man away. An expected gesture from a dying, confused animal. Tenet slid under the desperate swings, his hardened skin and claws causing sparks to trail along in his wake against the stone, making the dark mist that followed light up like thunderclouds for a moment. Tenet was along its left flank and he wasted no time in jumping up and sinking his claws into one of the many legs, right at the joint. A few slashes followed by a primal scream of victory followed as he successfully ripped off one of the Ravager's legs, causing it to keel over to that very side. The Vile lept off before being crushed by the insect's massive weight and immediately targeted the most troublesome area. The second tail. Despite being down once more, the tail whipped around viciously at any would be assailants. Tenet was just such an assailant crazy or foolish enough to approach it. He waited for the tail to swing low before jumping up and latching on just under the stinger, where he couldn't be stung. The impact of the swing was enough to crack several ribs, even with his armored hide but it went unnoticed by the Dark-kin.

Tenet's ride on the stinger ended with him crashing through one of the previously fallen buildings and this was just the chance he was waiting for. One of the main pillars of the building were exposed and the shadowy being wasted no time in digging his claws into the wooden pillar and forcing the already extended tail to partially wrap around the pillar. It would be a much more difficult time for the already exhausted and dying Ravager to pull back its extended tail while it was being pinned in such a way. Tenet screamed his victory as his muscles strained to keep the creature's tail in place. The wood groaned under the intense pressure placed upon it so suddenly and Tenet knew his time was limited. He immediately started hacking away at the final segment of the tail, which rested the deadly stinger. His claws dug in deeper here, considering its armor was thinner here than the rest of the creatures body. It would only be a matter of time before the stinger came off.

Eevie gave a slight nod at the cultists words and dropped her hands to the side. He was rather cooperative, which was a breath of fresh air. She watched with amusement as the eldritch being walked over to the well and summoned one of the fish... things from its depths, exploding out with a geyser of water. It leaped out with its battle cry, "FOR THE MOTHER!"

"Stink Breath, I need you to be with me and Eevie, I can't risk summoning more deep ones and not be able to protect the town" the cultist said, and motioned towards the female Dullahan. The fish-- er, Deep One-- nodded and bounded towards Eevie.

"Me Stink Breath, happy boss have friend,"
it said to her, to which she responded with a awkward wave.

The two were soon joined by the cultist. "You'll lead and we'll follow."

Before she could do anything, there was one thing she had to do. Motioning for the two to wait for a moment, Eevie reached up and unlatched her helm, and slipped it off. Her head stayed within the armour, allowing a small column of black smoke to come out of her neck where it had been severed, which drifted up a few feet before it dispersed. The black smoke was a constant, however she didn't allow the odd and frightened looks she received to deter her. She quickly dashed back inside the hall, and placed it in a secure location, before heading back out to the Deep One and eldritch being.

Taking her whip in her hands, she scanned the area. There were still a few enemies about that they needed to deal with that weren't being stopped. Eevie gestured to one of the Ravagers with one hand, and with the other, she beckoned the two to follow her lead into the plaza. 'Now, what was it that guy said before? The tail, right?' she questioned herself as she closed in on the giant scorpion. She hoped that was it, and that she wasn't imagining it. 'Hopefully the two - erm, three - of us can deal with this, if not...' she shuddered to think what would happen if she continued that thought.

Ravager in sight, Eevie focused and charged, lashing her whip at the creature. Hopefully the cultist would get the idea and start heading to get the tail while she distracted the beast. Her whip did barely anything but scratch the exoskeleton of the giant scorpion, and it wasn't about to sit still and allow her to beat at it. The Ravager raised up, snapping its pincers at her - a single cut on anyone else could be fatal, but then again, Eevie didn't feel like severing her body any more than it was. It was close, but she avoided the wrath of both pincers, leaping and making a rolling dodge just out of its reach.

Miska had been exposed to many strange sights, but the revelation that his friend was a Dullahan still came as quite the surprise, but not as much as it should have been, something in the back of his mind, told him of the clues to her origins. But further contemplations were to be focused on at a later date, He had a scorpion in need of being murdered.

So, following Eevie's example, Miska called upon his tentacles, he approached closer to the battle, but stayed further back than the other combatants, as he wasn't agile like the Dullahan or durable like the Deep One, so any closer to the beast and Miska likely would become calamari. meanwhile, on the other hand, Stink was leaping towards the giant scorpion, his trident poised to strike the ravager, he landed upon the armored arachnid, with his trident striking the exoskeleton, it did little to damage it. But with the Deep One upon it's back the Ravager was forced to focus trying to rid itself of the passenger.

Giving Miska the opportunity to lash at the ravager with his tentacles, his strikes did little to damage the exoskeleton, but he wasn't intending to damage it, but instead to flip it upon it's back and with scorpion's focus upon the fish boy, Miska waited for the exact moment, and when he watched Stink finally being thrown off the scorpion, he quickly responded with a strong push from his tentacles into the beast's underbelly, managed to finally flip the beast onto its back

Jericho
As the dark figure leaped across his field of view and snatching the Darkwings' attention away from him, Jericho took a breather. He was wary of the figure that had apparently rushed to his rescue, but though the warrior resembled Darkborne more than human, he- no, it, seems to be disinterested in both the Guardians, and the guardsmen, instead focusing on the Darkborne, who seem to hate him just as much. He has even picked a fight with a Ravager, giving it a good fight for its life.

Confused as he was, his night was about to get more interesting, as he felt the touch of a hand on his ankle, along with a weak voice, calling for help. Agitated, the man swung around, ready to strike at the sudden possible threat, but quickly withdrew his shortsword at the sight of a relatively young Elfen girl, seemingly exhausted and wounded, having somehow made her way towards him, without making any sound.

As the girl reached for her weapon, and let loose an arrow that somehow hit a lurking Darkwing behind him, Jericho snapped out of his spiral of questions, and got to work, throwing his halberd on his back, and picking the girl up the most gently he could. Both hands holding the girl securely, he reassured her, whilst making his way to the town hall in search of a healer of some sort. "It's okay, little Elf. I'll help you, don't worry, stay with me now." He hushed into her ears, whilst channeling his powers into Clarity instead, removing his Shield aura. The last thing Jericho wants is a young Elf girl thrashing in near-death panic on his arms. "Medic! We need a medic! Now!" He yelled, heading for the town hall.

Resting the Elf on cold ground, a medic sure enough came, tending to her wounds, which look to be inflicted by a mix of blunt force trauma and Darkwolf mauls and bites. The wounds are not serious, so she would hopefully survive the night. "She's in good hands, we'll patch her up," said the medic, as his aide shows up with a packet full of bandages and medicine, exterior stained with blood. Busy night. As the man begun working on healing her, Jericho couldn't help but notice his helmet, in pristine condition. "Mind if I borrow that? Just for the night." He said, and the medic reluctantly complied.

While he was putting the helm on, Audaton conversed with the girl, staying close just for Clarity to help her. "You're okay. What's your name? Who's Yellow Hair?" Jericho was curious about that last one, Yellow-hair. Perhaps another fighter they could use in the battle?

Audun the Fallen
a6066c1df78ef009ed3ecc1481f83547.jpg

Location: Frontierville - Town Plaza
Status: In Combat/Heavily Injured
Disposition: Slightly Good
Interacting With:

Much to his dismay, the holy Cross had affected his strength far more than he had anticipated. His right arm wasn't healing, it at the very least, it should've purged the divine magic by now, but the insanely powerful relic had left it's mark. This decrease in performance made every swing of his sword arduous and slowly allowed the Darkborne to overwhelm him. To make matters worst, five Ravagers and a Cerebrate stormed in, following the horde of Darkwolves, Runners and goblins. Audun couldn't remember the last time he had fought a Ravager. Maybe a decade ago? Still, he didn't recall their specific weakness until a man shouted during the midst of the battle, "Cut the tails! That's their weakness! Where the tails meet the body, cut it there!"

Thank whatever higher beings that exist. It was an awfully convenient reminder that Audun needed. Audun decided that whatever Darkborne there were, the regular soldiers could handle them just fine. He made a leap into the air and dived towards one of the overgrown scorpions that was heading towards the town hall. As he flew down, one of the scorpions' tails launched a quarrel that pierced straight through Audun's right shoulder, causing him drop his sword crash into the ground. Stumbling up, he found himself face-to-face with his intended target, poised to strike.

Two more quarrels struck his arm. Audun pulled them out, but by then poison was already starting to spread throughout his body. His already tainted blood wasn't as affected so as that Audun would immediately die like normal humans, but it wouldn't prevent his death. Audun didn't have the time to consider his options and activated Evolution on his right arm, engulfing it in pure Dark Magic and breaking off the paladin armor on the arm. The Dark Magic soaked up the poison and temporarily pulled his wounds together. However, the effect would not last, and he only had one chance to deal the finishing blow before Evolution's backlash. Remembering the soft underbelly of these creatures, he ran under the scorpion and aimed to deliver a fatal blow. He strafed the pincers and weaved in between the legs that threatened to crush him. When the scorpion attempted to crush the Nephilim under it, the Nephilim dropped into a slide and struck the weak point. When the attack hit, a large hole was blown into the scorpion as the armor near to point of contact shattered. The sudden release of energy into Entropy left Audun dizzy, but he still used what effort he had left to roll away from the collapsing body of the dead Ravager. Soon enough, Audun suffered the effects of his attack. As the Dark Magic receded from his arm, he felt his entire arm gradual shatter as the Dark Magic dissipated and fall limp to his side. Audun couldn't help but scream in frustration. "FUCK!!! I shouldn't have used this much to kill a simple fucking Ravager!!"

Pryonn & Kaatl

As the feathered incruscan's healing-magicks crept towards the bloodstained knight, Kaatl raised a dainty hand as if to block the incoming energies. Taking a moment to analyse their matter before letting the energies pass, the fairy gave a thankful nod towards Gon'Gon, pure healing magicks pouring into the knight. Pryonn shifted uncomfortably at the sudden warmth enveloping him, followed by a series of painful clicks as his cracked ribs were put back into place and the flesh around them mended. The bird-man's spell was benign and soon enough the knight was fully restored.

"Quaint work there, sir Gon'Gon! Fairy Kaatl and Sir Pryonn we are, dynamic duo extraordinaire!" intoned the knight with vigour "I apologize, we have actually accepted a new member just recently, technically making us a triumphant trio, but our third spot, Damsel-Dearest Terra Lyons, has not yet been schooled in the ways of heroic posing!"

The fairy on his pauldron emphatically stroked her chin, trying to calculate the possibilities.

But there was little time to waste, as just as quickly the darkborne tide returned in force, darkwolves, runners and their flying brethren coming to gnaw at the defenders.

Giving a court bow in direction of Gon'Gon, Pryonn turned to the encroaching horde. "Bring your thunder! Bringer your dark!" the knight called "You will never extinguish goodness's spark!" Laughing, Pryonn cast himself upon the forces of dark.

Eevie watched in between her dodging at how the cultist managed to flip the ravage onto it's back. She was sure there would be some wounded during this fight, however she was a little bit preoccupied. Plus, the Guardians could surely be resourceful enough to stay alive while she helped the cultist deal with the ravage here before it worked to flip itself over. The man from before said the base of the tail, and so that's where she headed. With the creature squirming to get onto its legs, Eevie ran around, pressing the rune on the hilt of her whip and lashing it out straight into its naginata form. The dullahan girl then thrust the blade into the base join of the tail, stabbing and slicing repeatedly until the tail finally started to come off. 'Just a few more cuts,' she thought with determination as the creature writhed in pain. But as soon as she thought that her blade struck the cobblestone in front of her.

Eevie flinched back and looked around, very confused. The ravager was gone - but where? How? 'Do... do these things teleport, or was I just that slow?!' Eevie had a sinking feeling, but when the creature reappeared with its limp tail, it wasn't able to surprise her. Eevie had a three hundred and sixty degree view of everything around the plaza, there was no such thing as surprise-attacking a dullahan. From behind her the pincer came down - Eevie waited until the last moment to dodge the attack, so the pincer smashed into the ground instead.

"Medic! We need a medic! Now!" The shout broke Eevie's concentration as a Guardian ran past with an elf girl in his arms, running back towards the town hall. She really should be on alert for cries of help as well, not just focusing on this one ravager.

With that though, Eevie took the opportunity to distract the front end of the giant scorpion once more, waiting for the cultist and Deep One to do whatever they needed to do to get this thing to stop existing. That was, of course when she caught the yelling. "FUCK!!! I shouldn't have used this much to kill a simple fucking Ravager!!" Eevie felt bad for leaving the rest to the cultist and his fish, but people were hurt - dying, and she needed to help. Her job was as a healer as much as she was a fighter, and so she signalled to the eldritch man that she would be back as soon as she could, and ran towards the newly deceased ravager, to the Nephilim who had seemed to be poisoned.

As she neared, she reverted her weapon back to her whip form and hilted it. She grabbed her medic bag, pulling out paper and a quill as she skidded to a stop and scrawled down on the page for him to see. 'I am going to cleanse the wound from the poison and seal it. It may hurt a lot, so bite down on this.' Eevie, allowing him to read the note, retrieved a small square of wood that was thickly wrapped in cloth - a preventative so he didn't bite off his tongue. Once he took it, Eevie put everything else away and stepped back from him, focusing her energy around the Nephilim. She held out her arms loosely, palms turned upwards as light seemed to gather upon them. Around her feet then sprung a blue flame, which spread two lines that connected into a larger circle around both of them, while a third circle formed around the Nephilim.

The blue flames were not hot, and the didn't burn when touched, however once this pattern had been completed, the flames shot up like a torrent, completely encasing them. As this happened, the pain would begin; like molten lava in his veins, the poison was purged. The pain of its removal was intense - to a point where the most pain-tolerant of men would scream and cry for mercy. It was perhaps the longest thirty seconds one would ever endure, but as soon as the poison was gone and the wound was sealed, the Nephillim's body was overcome with a massive amount of pleasure as his brain released oxytocin to numb out any after pain. There was far too much pleasure to worry about whatever else his body felt.

The flames extinguished, and Eevie walked over, bandaging the Nephillim's arm to suppress the swelling, and then stepped back, observing him to make sure he was alright. As per her word, Eevie only cleansed the poison, though the did feel he had far more dark magic within him; however she wasn't stupid, some people kept that within themselves to augment their magical power. Still, with her hands behind her back, she watched him curiously, her body language suggesting she was concerned - which she was, any normal person would have been killed, yet this man wasn't, it was very impressive.

Jericho
As he stood there at the town hall, he could clearly see the situation. Three Ravagers are already dead, with a tag team consisting of the sorceress, an Earth elemental and a druid taking one out spectacularly, along with the two remaining Ravagers fighting for their lives. With the situation more or less secured by the others, all that was left for him to do was stand watch. After all, there were a few pockets of small Darkborne in the area, the occasional stray Runner or Darkwolf, attracted to the meaty Light energy in the town hall, teeming with the agony of the wounded or dying. These Darkborne died swiftly under Audaton's blade, along with the help of the guardsmen, who now find themselves devoid of something to do, now that the Ravagers are here. To engage a Ravager in close combat is no different than to voluntarily stab yourself a thousand times over.

With his hands free, the man couldn't help but glance at the hulking Cerebrate in the background, its hide releasing more Darkwings. The sky is jam-packed with those Darkborne flying abominations, with squadrons of 30-40 forming and flying in an uniform formation, swarming the walls, but thankfully, the Light-cannon crews are improvising and keeping themselves alive, emptying shells into the air, killing swathes of Darkwings with every explosion, along with spearmen to protect the crews when those things get too close. The musketmen, along with the archers, join in as well, covering the airspace above the plaza, with only the occasional guardsman or archer being torn to bits or pulled off a roof by the things.

But the Cerebrate was seeming to stir, angered by the loss of its underlings to such a strong force. Jericho hasn't faced an awful lot of these things, but he knew from experience that they were far more intelligent than the average Ravager, being capable of emotions other than "Angry", and with a mind that can think tactically, hence its appearance here, as the supposed commander for this pack of death-mongering scorpions. A cloud of Dark energy begins swirling around it, encasing its entire body in a thick mist of Dark.

A few puffs of mist begin appearing near the town hall, seemingly Dark in nature, coming from no apparent source. As Jericho lifted his halberd in expectation of something bad, he suddenly felt his energy, his power, being weakened significantly, along with his stamina waxing and waning, along with an almost irresistible urge to rest. His Clarity was still in effect, albeit being weakened. Turning backwards to check on the Elf girl being treated, he could see a vial of medicinal Light energy beginning to stir, despite the medic's steady hands, as they prepare to dampen a wound with it. The Light energy then begins to turn from an iridescent blue to a pitch black, and before it could be applied into the girl's wound, Audaton made a move, holding it away, much to the confusion of the medic, who had failed to notice the vial's foul color. "Don't! It's tainted!" yelled Jericho.

As he looked to the ground again, the mist of Dark energy seemed to be moving away, flowing as if it were water in a canal, towards another target, away from the town hall. As the thing moved further and further, he could feel his energy coming back to him, his body and mind reinvigorated with power, and as he glanced down to the medic, he could spot the Light energy within the vial return to its natural blue color. Looking back at the small cloud of mist gliding across the ground, towards a congregating group of Guardians, specifically the sorceress.

As the mist quickly builds up vertically from the ground into a cloud, dense and thick, Jericho started to unravel something in that thick head of his. The Cerebrate was nowhere to be found at its former position, having vanished completely into that Dark cloud, and as he squinted hard into the newfound cloud, he could just make out the silhouette of a pair of gleaming red eyes, along with a variety of claws and sharp things. Quick to action, the man grabbed Dante and pulled the trigger as the barrel aligned itself with the eyes, waiting for a flash, and a registered hit on the thing. Alas, he had forgotten to reload it, the absolute fool.

Quickly trying to load a shot into the gun, all Jericho could do now was yell. "Watch out! Behind you! Move, move!"

"It's okay, little Elf. I'll help you, don't worry, stay with me now." "Medic! We need a medic! Now!" "You're okay. What's your name? Who's Yellow Hair?"

The man continuously talked to her as he carried her in his arms, but Leafa couldn't focus on the words coming out of his mouth, she was too exhausted to concentrate. Leafa felt calm as the medic treated her wounds, it was the same calmness she felt when she first met the man, her heart didn't beat as fast as normal and she didn't feel the urge to chase every bug she saw passing by. The operation was going great, most wounds had been patched up, and only a few remained, Leafa felt her strengths and energy coming back and the pain was starting to disappear. But suddently the calmness vanished as black puffs of mist started to pop up. She could still feel some of it, but it wasn't strong enough to hold back her energetic self. She got up and prepared to rush to the man's side, but the medic grabbed her arm. "Where are you going!? The operation isn't completed yet!", but Leafa didn't care, all she could think about was finding Yellow hair, he was all she had. "Take your hands off me! Hurts heal with time, I have to find Yellow hair!"

Leafa let go of the doctor and looked around, in hope of spotting Yellow hair fighting against the birdies. "Hmm, where are you Yellow hair? ... ... ... Praying Mantis! They were mommy's favorite bug! But I need to find Yellow hair... Eh, he can wait!", with radiant eyes filled with excitment the young elf ran as fast as she could, the praying mantis wasn't running away, her luck had finally come! She was about to swoop in and catch it until...

BUMP!

Leafa's head bumped into the tall man's back. "Oww, my head! Watch where you stand tall man! What are you even doing in the middle of the way! I want to see that praying mantis! Oh wait... it ran away. Aww... See what you did?!"

Maria
As the... peculiar dark figure begun wreaking havoc on the Ravager she was preoccupied with, Maria had time to look around, as she grabbed her bardiche, and stood in an attacking form. The big Darkborne monster, the Cerebrate, as she is told. It was surrounding itself with a swirling cloud of Dark energy, seemingly covering itself in the stuff. But before she could take a closer look, the cloud had already vanished, seemingly taking the Cerebrate along with it. Intrigued, she forced herself to turn back to the situation at hand.

As she prepared herself to rush to her savior's aid, her eyes fixated not on the beast, having been incapacitated, with its stinger wrapped around a support beam, but instead, concentrated on the almost pitch black figure, his-- no, its-- Darkborne-like visage, with the signature red glow on it. Maria didn't take long to recognize this newfound ally, as a former foe. The beast that killed many of her men. The one she had managed to capture herself, getting her hands dirty. Her former trophy. How is he-- how is this... thing... loose, again? Who allowed it? Who permitted it? Who dared?

Angered, she raised her bardiche, preparing for a jumping strike. Though he had an Imperial Red Ribbon on his wrist, indicating a friendly unit, she was consumed with the memories of her dead legionaries, slain by this vile being. Even his very existence makes her want to puke, both in anger and disgust. Arching her knees down for a springing leap in the air, she focused her eyes on her target, the sweet spot. She springs into the air, directly at her final target, and with a swing of her bardiche as she comes down, she ends the unsuspecting creature.

As she lands, the Ravager's remaining tail detaches from its body, making it thrash around in vain, before succumbing to its fatal weakness, and collapsing, its Dark blood spilling onto the crumbled remains of the building as it begins to disintegrate into raw Dark energy. Thankfully for the Vile-- for... Tenet, she had grown from who she was. She could keep emotions apart from business, for now. Maria got up, and pushed herself to get some words out of her mouth. "Alright, Tenet... the night isn't over."

Standing afar, was the Cerebrate, having teleported dangerously close within the Guardians' ranks, evidenced by Jericho calling out to the sorceress, before being bumped into from behind by an... Elf girl. Swiping Dark blood from her bardiche's blade, she prepared for a tough fight.
