Andrew just stared at it and did not reply. He held on to his sister's hand and his axe in the other.
 
"Ah, alright, cool thanks," Rin replied as slowed down now that he had caught up with her. He returned her smile, "My name is Rin Amaru," he took a breath and continued down the hallway. "Nice to meet you, Dahlia," Rin stated. He tried not to laugh as she shook her head playing with her hair, it appeared. Think of something to say, you moron. "So, um, you read a lot?" Nice... He shook his head and continued following her, hoping she didn't even hear him.
 
Damon thought to himself about what he was seeing. The sister is sweet, perhaps a little protective. I can see why; he's so shy that he doesn't even want to speak. Yet, he can't be that defenseless. He's wielding such a large weapon for his size. If I were to hold something just as big on me, I don't think I could use it.


He looked over to the hyperactive girl. Maybe I should get out of here before she chats my ear off too.





Damon wasn't known for his sneakiness nor his cleverness. The only way to the cafeteria was past them, so he put on his sternest look, hoping that the wouldn't stop him as he briskly walked towards (and hopefully) past the trio.
 
Dahlia glanced over at him, smirking. "Yeah, I do. Reading is an escape for me.." She trailed off inadvertently. Dahlia blinked and quickly recovered. "The library here is huge. It's amazing. Oh, here we are." She paused outside of the door to the cafeteria, thankful for the distraction. Dahlia was terrible at talking to people. She pushed the door open and walked in, smiling timidly at Rin.
 
Hana listened to the girl once again, holding onto her little brother's hand. He was much more quiet, probably because he was uncomfortable with Aelia and how much she spoke. Hana looked down at her little brother "Its ok, Andrew. I know its weird to have someone talk so much." she then heard footsteps coming towards them, she looked over and move out of the way so the boy could get through. "We're going to breakfast now, Aelia. I want my brother to get something in his system." she said before walking off with her little brother.
 
Rin looked at her then back towards the hallways. "I have yet to go to the library here, I'm sure I'll be there soon enough," He said laughing a little. "I want to get more into reading, my father had an amazing collection of books but I never got to read any of them." The thought made him frown for a second. Rin looked towards the cafeteria, and glanced around. " Hey would you want to eat together?" Rin asked, bringing back a smile.
 
Dahlia raised an eyebrow at his frown, but shook it off. "I'd love to." She smiled and followed him further into the cafeteria, shifting the book from one arm to the other. "I never got to read much when I lived with my Grandmother." Just the ingredients of those potions she was so obsessed with. "We couldn't afford things like books. She thought they were a waste of money." Dahlia shook her head. She looked down and realized that she was clutching her necklace with her free hand again. She moved the book back to her chest, holding it with both hands.
 
The cafeteria was already bustling with people and all the good spots were taken. Merek was a little disappointed, even though he had already expected that. His eyes scanned the room, searching for either a group of empty seats or a familiar face. He finally spotted Dahlia, who was speaking with a very light-haired male. Hoping that they wouldn't mind if he ate with them, he waited in line, received his food, and then walked over to them.


"Hello, Dahlia. Do you mind if I sit with you as well?" Merek asked.
 
"Oh, hello Merek! Not at all, please sit down." She smiled, then gestured to the boy beside her. "This is Rin. Rin this is Merek." She took a step back and brushed her hair out of her face. "Stupid bangs." She muttered. She tucked her hair behind her ear, and turned back to the two boys, smiling timidly.


(Gah, I have to go. Night everyone. xD )
 
Merek nodded and sat down, placing his book safely in his lap. It wouldn't do to let such a precious work get stained with food. He then turned to Rin. "Rin, was it? It's nice to meet you." he stated before he started to eat.
 
Rin smiled when Dahlia agreed to sit with him. "Ah, I see. I don't know where you could come up with that conclusion, being that they are a waste of money." Rin noticed she was holding her necklace, though he didn't say anything. Another person approached the two of them, and Dahlia introduced him as Merek. "Yes, Rin Amaru. Its nice to meet you, as well," Rin said. He removed Timid and the sheath from his back and leaned it against the table, then sat down next to it.
 
Athis stood in the center of his room holding his sword at arms length. He'd been studying techniques since he'd never had a weapon of his own before, aside from the wooden sticks he'd fought his friends with in his boyhood. Taking a breath he began a series of blocks, parries, stabs, and slashes against an invisible opponent. Athis cursed as he twisted his ankle causing his center of gravity to change suddenly almost sending him crashing to the ground. Athis sighed he'd been practicing for hours and while he'd improved he was still concerned about his lack of ability with the weapon. Athis felt the lightning crackle along his left hand and smiled. Quickly he took the blade in both hands and watched as white tendrils of lightning cracked and flickered along the blades edge. Taking and experimental swing Athis watched the blade cleave the air. Their was a certain savage beauty in the miniature storm dancing along his blade. Athis cut the follow of electricity abruptly and watched the lightening slowly die. He swung the sword onto his back and was about to leave when he noticed something wrong with his hair. Checking it in a mirror he noticed that every single strand on his head was standing on end. Using some water he flattened it chuckling to himself. That could have been embarrassing. Athis walked to the cafeteria and sat down. There were others but seeing as he didn't know any of them he decided to sit by himself. Looking towards the kitchen his stomach rumbled and he wondered when breakfast would be served.

"Breakfast? Yum. Yeah let's go get some breakfast. Can I hold your hand to? Or is that reserved for the little guy?" Aelia said as she followed them, a skip in her walk. She whistled and winked at the boy who passed them and also Andrew.


Andrew looked back at her every now and then, not sure how to react.


"Why is she following us?" He asked quietly.


"Oh so you can talk!" Aelia said, delighted.
 
Dahlia carefully set her book down on the table and sat down. She blinked tiredly and then pinched herself. The last thing I need is to fall asleep on the table. She reached forward and placed a hand on her book, intending to start reading it, but that would be rude to Rin. She pushed to book into the middle of the table and turned to Rin, who has placed his sword by the table. "That sword is beautiful Rin." She said, somewhat awestruck.
 
Damon released his pumped up exterior when he had successfully passed the girls and the younger boy in the hall. Whew, I'm glad I didn't get held up there. I'm starving. At home I would have eaten and gotten to the fields by now...





He headed into the cafeteria and glanced around. He wanted to sit with someone, at least, but large crowds unnerved him. He chose to sit down with a single other boy (Athis). He didn't say hi, but gave him a warm smile as he shuffled into his seat. He put his elbows up on the table, clasped his hands, and rested his head on top of them, waiting patiently for breakfast.
 
Rin smiled towards Dahlia, "Thanks, its known as Timid. It was a gift from my father..." his gaze drifted, and he realized he was frowning again. Rin quickly changed the subject. " What where you about to read anyways?" He grabbed the book from the center of the table and looked at it. He had seen her pinch herself, it looked like to try to stay awake. "And you seem tired, are you okay?"

Hana looked down at her brother "She needs to eat too. Becides, this is the only way out other then an emergency exit." she looked at Aelia "He doesnt talk much unless its for a question or statement." then, Hana decided to answer her first question about the hand thing "I do not hold anyone else's hand other then Andrew's. Unless if you're falling, then that is a different story."
 
"Go away!" Amara said loudly at the door, hoping the person knocking would leave her alone. "Come on, open up Amara. You know it's me. What's wrong with you today?" Osilus yelled back through the closed door, feeling very lucky that no one was around to see him banging on a girl's door. He was a little taken aback by Amara's reaction. She had always been less than talkative, and tended to close herself off every time someone mentioned her past, but otherwise she had never been sulky or hostile before. He suddenly felt very worry. "Amara, I'm coming in anyway. I hope you're not in your underwear or anything. Because that would be awkward." He pushed the door open slowly and peeked inside.


Amara was in a corner, her back against the cold stone wall. She looked back at him with wet bloodshot eyes, obviously from crying. Her body still shook in sobs, her usually tidy room a mess. The whole scene was heart-breaking and so unlike her that Osilus was transfixed at the doorway, unable to comprehend the situation. Another wave of sobbing broke through his shock, and Osilus ran to her side and pulled her into his arms. She clutched at him and buried her face in his chest while he coulsn't do anything but making soothing noises. Then it dawned on him. "Something last night?" He asked hushly. She didn't answer, and that was all he needed to know. "Come on, we need to go. The Ceremony starts in an hour."


It took 15 minutes to get Amara to let go of him, and another 20 to get her relatively preapared. It wasn't enough time to make her look normal again. But he had to settle with that, and they headed for the Cafeteria. When they arrived, almost all the seats were taken. Osilus sighed. Too many students this year.

Master Tavis Rogar walked down along the Hall in the Central building. The noise coming from the Ball Room was deafening, which is the reason why he always ate in the personel's dinning room on the second level. As he passed by, he glanced at the Lightime, an unique Item that works without a wielder, tracing the unseen sun and predicting the close future. It was almost time. Master Rogar snapped his fingers as he walked toward the arena, and the Bell above the Academy started to rang, marking 8:00. The Ceremony begins in 10 minutes, and he wasn't known for tolerating late comers. 
(OCC note: The setting in this RP is entirely medieval, so please post accordingly. Also, this is not a fantasy/school life RP. This is an action survival fantasy RP, and things are going to explode soon. Like tomorrow-after-a-few-more-posts soon.)

"It's just a book on Kelaron's history.." She rolled her eyes and smiled at Rin. "Something I'm assuming you won't be interested in." Dahlia turned to look towards the door, purposefully ignoring Rin's question. "Do you know when the Ceremony is supposed to be?" She asked the two boys curiously. "I don't want to be late."
 
"Now why would you say th-" Rin heard the bell ring, realizing it meant it was 8:00. She had ignored his second question and continued anyways. He heard some people the day before talking about the ceremony as they roamed the dorm halls. He heard them say something about 8:10, but he wasn't sure. "Well, I heard it started in 10 minutes, but I'm not to positive. I heard some others talking about it the other day." Rin looked around to see if any others had been heading out to get to the ceremony.
 
Dahlia pushed her bangs away from her eyes and stood. "I guess we should just follow the others then..." She looked around at the other students, skillfully hiding her anxiousness. She was never good at making friends, and was beyond lucky to have found people like Rin and Merek. Dahlia reclaimed her book from Rin, smiling shyly. "We should probably get going. Something tells me that Master Rogar doesn't want anyone to be late." She looked back and forth from Rin to Merek expectantly.
 
Hearing the bell, Damon moved on with his breakfast meal, a simple milk and bread sort of dish. He hadn't realized that it had been so late. He was still getting used to a clock system as well, since at home the organization of the day was determined by the day and night cycle, when the crops were ripe, and when the animals they had needed to be fed and let out to pasture.


Damon Miller scarfed down the food and got to his feet, walking briskly out the ballroom/cafeteria exit, following other students who looked like they knew what they were doing. The building was huge and he hoped that he was following the right people.
 
Rin took a deep breath and let it out, looking around. The crowd of people leaving started to grow. "Mhmm, I'd agree." He stood up, slinging Timid on his back. He nodded his head in the direction of the door, "Should we get going," he said looking towards the two.
 
"Yes, I suppose we should." Merek agreed, standing as well. He noticed many of the students already bustling out of the cafeteria. There was a surprisingly large amount of students in this school, he noted. Or at least more than he thought there would be.
