Fantasy ~ FableWood ~

Banba giggled as Leo scratched her, but stood up in human form when the other two approached. She looked around, eyes wide in curiosity, before raising her nose and sniffing. She grinned, now the music finding her ears.

"The gryphon and the Ward are feasting on the food of sadness." She stated, grinning around at the three gathered. "It would probably-maybe-definitely-Absolutely the right time to join them."

Leo watched Banba and smiled at her. "Ward is a Griffon who has been leading the party, i assume for some time now. He says he has been helping the princess for some time now, but to who this princess actually is i do not know. I believe Banba is correct, we should join the rest of the party that has started." At that moment, the servant that had taken away his robes returned. Hie robes mended and freshly cleaned, Leo slid them over his bare fur and attached the leather bindings and gold clasps that he had polished and shined. He scooped up the mantle of polished gold and placed them back on his shoulders. He hadn't had the time to finish cleaning his blade, so he handed it to the servant. "Please keep this safe, i doubt i will be needing it for a party. I will clean it later so please just keep it somewhere safe." The servant scurried off and Leo turned to the small group. "Now then will the two of you be joining Banba and myself to the party." he said with a great big smile.

" The princess is the ruler of Fable Wood - and the owner of this very castle. " Nyr explained briefly. " She oversees the kingdom with wisdom and kindness and always has the best interest of her subjects on her mind. "

She paused for a second waiting the servant to go away before replying.

" And yes, Ward is indeed a gryphon, the first who found and united all of us. Although there is no hierarchy in the team he is technically the leader. "

In that moment her stomach growled loudly. She blushed heavily at this rude interruption but it could not be helped. She was hungry.

" My apologies for this. I concur, we should join the others in the celebration. " she looked at Luness " You will be able to meet the rest of the party there I am sure of that. "

Luness watched as Leo donned his regal attire, suddenly realizing that just wandering into a party for people of high value with just her fur as her outfit, may not be the best idea. Kicking at some dirt absentmindedly, Luness then glanced between the trio and asked, "Is there a specific attire for this event?"

It wasn't really like Luness cared that much about her appearance, but if she wanted to fit in with this group then she was going to need to at least appear to be one of them. In this case, walking into a high-esteemed party with just the fur on her back and the dirt, sweat, and such that was no doubt mixed with it, may not be the best idea.

Despite being able to change into a human, Luness doubted her usual attire of a tank top and cargo shorts would be accepting either. She also had a few tattoos across her body that would only add to the problem. At least in her werecat form, she could hide the tattoos under her fur.

Leo shifted the robes a bit, unfamiliar with the way they washed them they felt slightly odd. "The servants here have been more than accommodating with the other ladies and im sure will be able to help you with something to ware if that is your concern." He folded his arms behind his back and looked over at Banba, "Of course, you could always do as Banba and myself have and show up with your normal attire. No one will mind im sure."

Raising an eyebrow at this, Luness said, "And this is okay?" She then gestured to herself, her fur that was matted with dirt, sweat, and even a few small leaves here and there.

While Luness was in no mood to dress up, she at least didn't want to get a whole lot of attention when she entered the castle to join the party. If there was one thing Luness hated more than anything else, it was being in the spotlight.

" There is a lake nearby, water clean and rather warm. " offered Nyr " I can take you there with my wings quickly if you wish. "

She readied her wings ready to fly should she want to go and bath in the nearby lake. She waited for her command.

Luness immediately hissed at the idea of flying anywhere. "I don't like flying. My paws are made to stay on the ground," she said while making no moves yet. A lake to bathe in did sound good though. "Where is this lake you speak of?" Luness asked while cocking her head once more.

" Not far off if you fly through the woods. " she told him " A bit more complicated if you wish to approach it on foot though. " She frowned and crossed her arms in front of her. " Or, there is a third option to reach it fast but you wont like it either. "

Luness scoffed at Nyr and asked her, "Why suggest something if you know I won't like it?" Quickly growing tired of this discussion, Luness asked Nyr, "Can I just bathe somewhere nearby?" Having lived in the forests her whole life, Luness knew little of the commodities that some beings and humans had at their disposal. Still, she had wandered into the human world a bit and knew of baths and such. Despite having a strong dislike for being in water, and not knowing how to swim, a bath was still calming to Luness.

Quincy watched the dragon man's approach, smiling a little at him. With a small nod, she answered. “Not exactly like this, but yes. I was invited to a few celebrations held by the tall wood elves." She said, watching the dancing for a long moment. She had to chase away the faint frown that had settled before turning her eyes back to him. “They called me Quincy. What should I call you?" She asked, her expression conveying open friendliness. She could use a friend in this unfamiliar world. Her salt pool was seemed very far away, amongst all the finery and exuberance.

" If you wish not to travel to the water... I may be able to bring you some myself from the lake " she said as she spread her wings, floating mid air.

She waved with her hands as a gale wind rose up and beckoned her call. " The winds have agreed to bring waters from the lake should you desire. I can call upon them to bring the refreshing water to you directly. "

"Wood elves? Interesting," Alexander said, he smiled at Quincy, and said, "You may call me Alexander- or Alex if it is easier, I suppose. Do the elves dress so extravegantly?" He added. Alex was very curious about many of the peoples of Fablewood, but watching from a distance he could learn very little. His eyes fell upon Quincy with curiousity and intrigue.

Quincy gave a small laugh. “I had a dear friend among them." She added in explanation. “Well Alexander, it depended on the purpose. For a simple celebration, no. But for something like a wedding, yes, maybe more so." She spoke softly, thoughtfully. “I dont have much experience with the world outside of them or my old home." She said, giving him a secretive, embarrassed smile. It was wonderful, to be spoken to with such interest and be able to speak back with ease.

With the fear of a torrent of water coming down on his head Leo turned himself in the direction of the castle. "I will meet you two inside my lady's." He continued on his way up towards the edge of the garden. He stopped, one of girls ear pointed backwards, "Banba, care to join me?" He continued onto the castle.

Banba ran after Leo, giggling as they arrived at the party. She looked around, eyes following any and all movement, tail swishing excitedly. She had never seen so many people all at once. They were all moving, all talking and breathing. Banba herself took in a deep breath, her nose finding the smells of sweets ad other foods, and she bounded towards the table, moving to jump on it but landing as a palm sized version of herself. Diving head first into a basket of buns, she pulled one the size of her out as onto the table cloth. The shifter sat on top of it, tearing chunks out of it with her tiny fists and shoving them into her mouth. The spectacle made a few lovely dressed women utter words of annoyance and move away, but Banba didn't notice, or if she did, she didn't let onto the fact.

"I'm alright. I would be in the ballroom right now, but my baby makes it difficult for me to stand after a while." Ashley rested her hand on her stomach to signify that she was pregnant. Honestly, that bulge in her belly made her stick out like a sore thumb, so if there was anybody who thought she was overweight or whatever, they would definitely be off.

When the pair was approached and greeted by Lexi, Ashley figured that she'd introduce herself, or at least say her name. "Oh, hello there. I'm Ashley. And you are?" On the other hand, the young Mother only remembered her face, but not her name.

Leo marveled at the ballroom, its beautiful architecture and stunning mural on the ceiling made him feel as if he was standing above the clear blue sky. Suddenly Banba took off like an excited child. Leo tried to grab the little lizard, but she slipped through skillfully. He watched her land in the basket, the looks on peoples faces made him weary for his little friend. He calmly steped over to the table she had landed on and bowed his head to the participants, "please excuse my tenacious friend, she is very excitable." He looked down at her has she stuffed her face full of bun and gingerly picked her up by her tiny outfit and placed her in his palm. He also grabbed two more of the buns and a few extra sweets just incase she finished the bun she was working on to quickly. He made his way to a table and sat both of then down. "Now Banba, we are to behave in our current company, we must not startle the other guest." All the while smiling at her. He could not blame her, nor should anyone else. It was mearly her nature

"I don't, either," Alexander admitted, "Though I'm sure you've realized." He says, with a smile. He enjoyed The company, too. It was nice that there was someone else who was as lost in the culture of the cities as he was. "Did you ever learn to dance?"

It was one of the princess' wishes that Ward learn all the etiquette of the royal court. He had acted as an emissary to neighboring kingdoms from time-to-time and knew all the steps and phrases and bows etcetera, but his favorite of all the courtly functions was dancing. He led Elena gently by one hand to the ballroom floor and, placing one gently hand on her waist, led with the other in the sweeping waltz mirrored by prince and princess.

"I hope you don't think me too forward." He said apologetically. "Of all human customs and protocols, I like dancing the best."

He allowed his attention to be diverted to the ballroom ceiling, which was a perfect representation of the sky.

He smiled. "If you look up there, it almost feels like flying."

"Really elegant." She agreed with Anya. "No one back home would really have thought it, but you know, I've always wanted to go to a medieval party like this. It feels pretty good to have had a hand in bringing this kind of happiness." She glanced at the prince and princess.

She continued to watch Ward and Elena from the sidelines, when something by her right arm made her look down. The bun basket next to her had been shamelessly accosted. She grinned as Leo removed a miniature Banba from the table.

"Aw, the people that mind are stuff-shirts. Right Ban?" She followed them to the table and sat down too, waving for Anya to follow.

"I guess this is far from over..." She said, partially excited, but scared too. She could have gotten hurt, or killed these past few days, and new danger seemed almost a guarantee. She couldn't help but look a little worried.

Leo watched the young woman, the scared excitement apparent on her face. " Do not worry young one. Fablewood is filled with many creatures and monster, some more terrifying than the next. But as long as you stay strong, keep your witts about you, and rely on those who call you a friend, even this terrible darkness will not be able to harm you." He spied a servant passing their table with several goblets of golden drink. He signaled for him to stop and dropped 4 glasses on the table. He found fermented drinks that were made from his forest from the neighboring villages to be quite tastful. He took several large sips and smiled as the sweet concoction slid down his throat.

Elena followed Ward, careful of every step to match his own elegance. Or at least try. Waltzing for the first time was not as awkward as she expected. It came easier, like Ward leading was all the guidance needed. And in this atmosphere, she was much more comfortable. He spoke of being foreword and Elena smiled, secretly glad he was. This was the best way to end the day, anyways. Her feet moved swiftly in line.

"I haven't had many chances to dance.. I'm.. I'm you asked me to." She said with a smile. " I would feel more comfortable with you than a stranger."

Looking up at the cloud painted ceiling, glee reappeared on her face.

"I love flying.. It really does feel the same. It's freeing."

Quincy laughed lightly at his self-depreciating comment. “You wear your discomfort well, much better than I." She said brightly, the words coming more readily now. “Yes. It was the one thing I insisted on being taught." A face flashed in her eyes, the memory so strong that she could smell the trees and the scent of his skin. She drew in a breath, then forced herself to relax. “Im not sure if Id be any good at it anymore." She said, slightly wistful, as she watched the people fly by in an elegant waltz.

Banba gripped the bun toght as she was lifted into the air, but didn't otherwise struggle as she was placed back onto a solid surface. Instead, however, she continued eating the bun from the top down, until she ha hollowed it out and was able to fit inside comfortably. When others joined her and Leo at the table, her scales turned over, turning a red colour as she turned into a tiny dragon protecting her dough hoard. She sat, occasionally pulling more bread off the crust, chewing it slowly as she watched the crowds with bright eyes. Looking around the table, she spotted a sweet, eyes lighting up even more. Thinking she was sneaky, se crept out of her bun bowl, slowly approaching the sweet before she snatched it off the plate and ran full speed, diving back into the bun, giggling triumphantly.

"You are too kind," Alexander said. He watched her features change, and replied, "Perhaps it is like a great many things- your body never truely forgets how to do it. Like flying... Or horseback riding, I've heard. I would ask for a dance, but I fear looking foolish." He smiled a bit, and took another sandwich from the table. A dragons hunger was never truely sated.

"It is, very nice." Anya agreed, before Noticing Leo and little Banba. She lady at the little shifter's antics, and followed Leia to sit. "I suppose you're right." Anya said, "I wonder how-Er, why- we all got dragged into this? Its like a childhood fantasy became reality, but when you wish for stuff like this, you never consider the actual danger..." She mused, realizing again how much she missed home. Her features streached a little, as she was surprised to realize she'd stopped missing home in the first place.
