Pleased that he had finally learned of Lira's name, Wu Kong bowed to her before standing up again. Just as he stood up again, he felt her kiss on his cheek and felt his face flush slightly. His warm smile changed into a sheepish grin and he replied, "Aha, I was merely doing my job, m'lady." He ran a hand through his hair and glanced away, now noticing the growing crowd among the dinner table. The feast certainly looked plentiful and Wu Kong could not resist the laughter and wondrous gathering of people. He had so much he could learn from the humans, too!

Not wanting to leave Lira, but also wanting to join the group, Wu Kong waved her over to insinuate that she follow him. He began walking towards the feast, as he replied, "The horses are not mine, sadly, but I have trained all of them for my master. He treats all of us extraordinarily well and I could not ask for a better home to live in. It is quite peaceful most of the time and I relish in what peace I can enjoy."

At this point, they were back with the group and Wu Kong chuckled when he heard Yo-Lai's whisper to him. Muttering under his breath, Wu Kong whispered, "As much fun as that would have been, I doubt the humans would have handled it any better than their initial entrance."

While those around him conversed and got to know each other, Wu Kong was temporarily mesmerized by the gathering of seemingly rainbow fireflies around them. Unlike most FableWoodians who got used to the oddities around them, Wu Kong still was fascinated by it all and loved to enjoy it. Smiling to himself now, Wu Kong's gaze left the party, as he admired the fireflies that seemed as if they were dancing around them.

Remembering the newcomer who had been enjoying all of the 'fairy'-like appearances, Wu Kong said out loud, "I do not know about all of you, but I never grow tired of the beauty in my world." Now glancing back at the people around him, Wu Kong added, "Do you all have fireflies in your world?"

The Mistress of Copper Mountain
"It may be rude of me to ask, but where are we?"
Honestly, Azovka did not know the answer to that question, so she held her tongue. Instead, she worked on keeping up with the white haired boy. Under her feet, limestone broke off to roll behind her, following her like little ducklings. Every once and a while, a pebble would bounce up toward her, hit her, then disappear.
"Well spoke, truly well spoken. You are very right to distrust wishes. They seldom end up profitable for the wisher. And whatever you do, don't let that one get his hands on it. I've known him for all of five minutes but I can already tell he's the sort that should never have power. I would be careful, he was likely imprisoned for a reason."
Azovka's green eyes turned to the white haired man, looking him over carefully. He knew Russian! Or, at least, he understood it. Whether he could speak it or not had yet to be determined. But, she felt that she was right about him. He was quite intelligent and without a doubt, knew what was going on and how to go about fixing it. So, no matter what, she would stay with this group.
The company entered the town and the mistress paused in her steps for a moment. How long had it been since she had been in a town with people filling it with life?
She gripped her bag tighter, her eyes down.
Her people were gone now, but what if they didn't come back? What if this new moon and the dangers it brought were here to stay? Or what if it could be fixed, but her people didn't return when it was?
She didn't think she could return to that mountain alone.
"Mistress, simply call on me and I will appear. You don't need to use a wish to order me."
Then, the Djinn was gone, back into the trinket in her bag. Azovka stopped at the head of the table, shifting her weight side to side with uncertainty, the pepples gathering at her feet to make a small pile of limestone. She felt so out of place here. She wasn't a member of this group, not really. She had just attached herself to it and had unknowingly added a Djinn to the mix.
Some of the party were talking, others eating, and more went to change into new clothes provided. She was the only one simply standing there, looking like she didn't belong.
Azovka shook her head and retreated with the ones that went to change.
She returned a little later than the rest in a curious dress of various greens and with a silver and green diadem on her head. The gown hugged her torso tightly without straps or sleeves to keep it in place, then fell loosely to the ground from her waist.
Surely, she didn't have to be in those dirty miner clothes at this moment. She could instead relax in the clothing she usually wore.
The maiden took a seat at the table, uninterested in the food that laid on it. She had no need for it.
However, she wondered if Datalion enjoyed the taste of food. Though, really, that wasn't a good reason to call him out of the lamp. He had only just returned to it! She wasn't lonely enough that she had to hold the Djinn hostage for company.
Shaking her head, she carefully removed the silver trinket from her bag, finding the lizard from earlier perched atop it. The lizard scurried up her arm, climbed her braid, and came to rest on top of her head, curling up behind the diadem.
Azovka waved her hand at her waist and what looked like ribbons extended themselves from the dress. She lowered the trinket, and the ribbons tied themselves around the handle, securing the lamp to her hip. For a moment, she stared at the lamp, her lips slightly pursed. She sighed in her discontent and retrieved an embroidery hoop from her bag. She leaned back into her chair to work on that for a few moments before she could stand it no longer.
"Dantalion," She said, softly, uncertain before she said it again, slightly louder and stronger. "Dantalion. Would you care to join us to eat?"

Jekyll.jpg

Jekyll was pleased when the newest member of the humans party answered him with pictures of heir world. Gazing over the picture, Jekyll was amazed by the quality of the images. They were he was looking through a small window into the human world. Before he had left, pictures where black and white, and rather grainy. These were spectaular to look at and it made you feel as if you were looking right at what was in the photograph.
The picture of the tower was incredible. Before he had left the human world, word had spread around the Hospital that he worked at that they were going to begin constructing this tower in Paris. He had heard rumors of what it would look like, even speculated it himself with his peers. But never had he seen an actual design of the monument. He was amazed by its size, and when Ash had mentioned standing atop of it, Jekyll couldn't help but feel a twing of excitement from what Paris must look like from its peak.

In his excitement and gazing at the pictures, Jekyll nearly missed Ash pointing out the time stamp to him. But his eyes fell on the numbers before him in utter shock. He had left England in early 1886, and if the numbers before him were correct for the date, he had been gone over 130 years. The realization of the amount of time that he had been gone, and even more so, how long he had been alive, was daunting. He hadn't kept track of how long he had been here, in fact there were instances during his travels where time was much more relative than anything else in Fablewood. So the fact that he had lost track of it so was not as surprising as his youthfulness still. How was it he still felt like his 30 year old self, when chronologically in humans years, he was closer to 160?

Jekyll's questions began to grow more and more hysterical. It wasn't until he felt his head throb that he realized he was flooding Hyde with his emotions.
Oy! You wanna calm down out there Jekyll. Unless your getting randy with someone, let me get a kip."
Jekyll cleared his throat in embarrassment, even though it wasn't as if any of the others could hear Hyde. Jekyll returned the pictures to Ash and smiled at her.
"Thank you Ash. Those pictures are quite lovely. It would be something to visit your world as you have visited ours. I imagine it is filled with many beauties."
Jekyll reached for the goblet again and drained it contents in an effort to relax himself as he listened to the others. When Yo-Lai mentioned the rooms being set aside for the group, Jekyll reached for his bag to make sure he had it with him. He hadn't truly slept in years. Another "benefit" from Hyde. While one was awake, the other could rest their consciousness and once their body reverted to the others state, it was as if the their body was returning anew. Usually Jekyll would stay up and take notes from the day, or work on his experiments if he was at his lab. But tonight, at the mention of Wu's fascination with the firefly's, Jekyll thought he would spend it under the stars, thinking.

Dantalion had been hard at work writing down all the information he had gathered so far on the humans and adding it to his collection. Their anatomy wasn’t especially unique like say a centaur, but their minds were fascinating. The way thier brains were layered, a testament to their evolution was truly interesting. Out of all the humans in the group Dantalion had begun to take an interest in the one called Hyde. His body was clearly unstable, and it was caused by a chemical compound he couldn’t see just by looking at his body. The Djinn would need a portion of whatever the chemical was if he was going to sate his curiosity.
Then all of a sudden Dantalion’s body stiffened as Mistress Azovka called out to him asking if he would like to join them for food. The Djinn couldn’t hold back a smile at his Mistress’s actions. By far she was the most empathetic master he had ever served under. No one else even thought that he might need food only summoned him for a wish.
Smoke billowed out of the lamp’s spout and would form Dantalion who would float for a moment before taking a seat next to Azovka.
“ Food is a luxury I have so rarely been granted since my imprisonment. I will happily join you.” Now that he was once more out of his lamp Dantalion noticed that there were a few new humans. One of whom had a strange device that with a look from his third eye he could tell was some sort of machine. He had never seen parts to small in a device and had no idea what it’s use would be. Then there was the man, he had the same unstable chemical structure as Hyde, and even a remarkably similar atomic structure. A brother perhaps? The Djinn would stay quiet for now and ponder which mystery he wanted to tackle first: the device or the man.

Ash.jpg
"No problem Mr. Guy! Glad I could share. I hope you get to see everything too once you're off work!" They said still believing everything was staged. Ash was huffing as they looked around for any source of electrical power. The folk here were deep in roleplay, or so they thought. It wasn't till a human from the same world piped up telling them it wasn't a fair and in fact was a new world entirely. Ash's eyes narrowed. Looking around, they felt more and more out of place. Did the faeries really take me to a new world? They thought as everyone started going back to their conversations. Ash wasn't sure what to think in this moment. They needed proof that things were different here. As if a wish were granted, A figure popped into existence. Standing tall with the notable third eye, Dantalion seemed to have quickly glanced at them. Ash took a step back. To most it would seem to be out of fear but deep down it was amazement. Their eyes went wide and then started to glisten from the new lights from fireflies. Times like these were when Ash wanted a photograph but they were too caught up in the moment to take one. It was truly a magical moment that not even a photograph could fully grasp. zCrookedz zCrookedz Mentions: SilverFlight SilverFlight

Ash knew they were going bug collecting later tonight. All the firefly colors would take a few hours to capture they imagined. Maybe a few would join in if everyone wasn't too tired. For now, they wanted to better understand the people around them. Walking up with wonderment, Ash stared at Dantalion long enough for discomfort. They were taking in all of his features which seemed so powerful yet tamed. "Excuse me!" Ash said loudly. "Do you mind if I take a photo of us? I want to remember this moment for a long time. It's not everyday you get to be in a new world. A-and maybe we can catch fireflies too! I heard you were imprisoned or something so maybe we can experience this place together." Ash wasn't sure if photos would be a bad thing for magical folk. Could they even take photos? Were they like vampires and wouldn't show up or maybe their powers would be locked away till the photo was destroyed. It was only polite to ask. They had hope in their eyes and cheerfulness in thier voice as they got the camera out. It had enough juice for a photo before it died for the night. Holding it close to their chest, they awaited an answer. St. Boethius St. Boethius

As Dantalion pondered which mystery to tackle first the answer showed itself to him in the form of the human female walking up to him asking about a picture. Dantalion looked at the girl, his third eye looking between her and the camera, with a stunned confusion. It was a rare thing indeed for him to be confused and it only fueled his desire to learn more about the subject. Going off what the girl said about remembering the moment perhaps it was like a book or a painting...
Dantalion took several moments to mull over what it could possibly be, while referencing the information he had gotten about the camera from his third eye, but to no avail. He just didn’t understand what purpose of the pieces were.
“I do not mind... though in return I ask that you explain to me how that object works.” Dantalion said pointing to the camera. “In exchange, I would be more than happy to help you catch the fireflies.” The Djinn said with a gentle smile, like one would make lovingly to a house pet. At this point Dantalion was looking to Azovka. Seeing if she would stop him or allow him to use his magic.

Lira Som
Human
Powers: N/A
Lioness075 Lioness075 SilverFlight SilverFlight
Lira's cheeks ran red as she looked at him. It wasn't in her nature normally but it seemed right, however looking onto it, Lira realised what she'd done. Her eyes flickered over to everyone else beginning to calm and enjoy themselves. It was peaceful and that's just what everyone needed at this point, time to recuperate and time to relax. Looking to Wu she walked with him, she had a hand on her dress lifting it up so she wouldn't trip but her eyes never left his face as he spoke. "That's pretty cool. Wish I'd be brave enough to train them. They're rather large." Lira almost seemed to laugh at the fact, she'd never seen herself even getting on a horse before, but the instant reaction to wanting to get out of the place took over.

Once they'd finally reached everyone else she leant over and grabbed a piece of fruit before taking a bite out of it. The juices ran down her chin and she giggled at the fact before wiping it away with her hand. It was so sweet but not enough to pain her sensitive teeth. Gazing round as the fireflies began to appear, her eyes dropped and her smile turned soft. Memories are special and precious and the bugs were something her grandfather would always tell stories about. But all of those happy thoughts soon faded when Yo-lai mentioned about houses on the beach. Near water. "Is there no where else we could stay?" Said in almost emergency, her hand had gripped tight on the fruit so much so the streams of juice had made her hand all sticky.

"We have fireflies sure, but nothing like this." Jace answered, still in awe of the colourful insects. "They're usually just yellow." Suddenly Jace thought of something.
"I bet this place doesn't have a drop of pollution anythwre, the water...I bet it's really clean."
Lioness075 Lioness075

To answer lingering questions Yo-lai put a hand into one of his flowing sleeves and pulled a small roll of paper from the folds. He unfolded it on a clear section of table. It was a map. And entire map of FableWood. Jace found himself leaning over to take a look at the layout of this strange world. The center was mostly plains, with a few forests. To the south was forest where the trees looked much larger, Jace thought he saw a giant painted with a grimace in the midst of them, then read "Giant's Forest". To the North the map was covered in snow. "Winter Wilds" was what the land was called. The far West held the Sand Seas, and to the East, on the other side of a vast mountain range, was a land that bore the title "Eastern Highlands".
"The mountains are just to the West of us. The dragon's domain is West of that. We are over here, and down. Just on the southern coast. My home, is on the edge of the Eastern Highlands, through this small section of forest here." Yo-lai put a gentle finger on the map.
Shame Shame @all at the table

When Lira voiced her concern about the sleeping arrangements Yo-lai noted her distress.
"I am sure we can find a house further up the slope if you would be more comfortable."
Upon hearing this one of the children that had been watching the group lit up. She tugged at her mother's sleeve and whispered something.
The mother gave them a shy smile. "My daughter wishes to know if the lady would stay in our home tonight. We live on the other end of the village, at the top of the hill."
The little girl, who only looked about seven or eight beamed at Lira.
Ridge Ridge

Jace got up from the table after he had eaten his fill. He started for the edge of the water. Yo-lai watching him, a curious expression on his face.
"It's a bit late for a swim." He said cautiously.
"Are you kidding?" Jace replied, "I'm not swimming here until I know some sea monster or whatever isn't going to eat my face."
He pulled of his shoes and socks and rolled up the legs of his jeans. The waves lapped serenely at the white-sand edge. Jace paused for a moment before stepping into the churning sea foam. At first, nothing happened. The water was cool about his ankles, and dark as the night sky. Then he drew a foot back and kicked the water hard. To his delight it erupted in a brilliant flash of colour. Another kick and this time there were two colours, radiating out from the splash, a million points of light, pulsing as the tiny animals were disturbed.
"Guess this place has ecosystems too."
Yo-lai had never seen this phenomenon before and stared in wonder.
"How did you do that?!"
Jace only laughed. "I didn't. When the ocean is clean there's bio-luminescent plankton that light up the water. Like this." Another kick. This time the ripples of colour expanded out from him for twelve feet. Mimicking the rainbow of the fireflies.
"Back home, the water's way too polluted for this to happen anymore. You can only find it in really remote areas." He kicked again, some of the colourful plankton landing on his clothes, decorating him like a Christmas tree. "Come on in! The water's not cold."
Yo-lai frowned. "What is "polluted"?"

Kiara was very interested in the map as it was laid out, and came close to watch as Yo-Lai explained it. “I see. So what happens to all the legends that have a specific country of origin in the real world? Are there places for them?” She asked curiously, enjoying some olives.

It isn’t long before she noticed Jace, and gasped, staring in wonder at the glowing waves. She pulled up the skirt of her dress, before running to join him, stopping before her skirt could get wet. She gazed at the water, the light reflecting in her white hair as she moved her foot a bit, laughing as she saw the tiny creatures light up around it.

She paused, hearing Yo-Lai ask what pollution was. She sighed softly, looking very sad. “The humans of our world… they aren’t all bad. But they aren’t all good either. A lot of our technology, or our desire for certain things… making or using them can put poison in the air, or the water. Or sometimes we don’t know what to do with our trash, so it ends up in the ocean.” She swallowed, tears glinting in her eyes. “We’re trying to fix it. At least, some of us are. A lot of others just… don’t care.” She looks back to the water, but her gaze is sad now. She really does hate the real world.

Dantalion turned his head from the human girl when a male with long flowing clothing, typical of the eastern highlands, produced a map of Fablewood and ascertained where they were. Dantalion’s eyes lit up with desire. He never had a managed to get a map of all of Fablewood before. He would have to speak with the boy about adding it to his collection. Just as he was about to approach Yo-Lai about the subject the younger boy, one of the humans who had said something about pollution, ran towards the water and caused something fascinating to happen. The Djinn had never seen such a rainbow affect in water before. His third eye would confirm what the boy said about bioluminescent creatures in the water, but it truly a sight to behold.
Dantalion floated out a little further over the waters, his feet never touching the water, there was something he wanted to try. Dantalion opened 2 small portals under the water. The portals would draw in water and subsequently the plankton. The Djinn’s third eye look over the area and opened three more portals in the area about 5 feet apart. Water fell from the portals back into the lake(?) harmlessly. The movement of the water caused them to light up with that same rainbow effect. Dantalion would move the portals around both above and below the water, changing thier sizes and shapes. all in an attempt to gather information.

Jace's grin widened as others can to investigate his finding. Then, he caught Kiara explaining pollution to a curious Yo-lai. She seemed regretful, almost ashamed and he felt the same feeling rise in him too. The feeling of helplessness was awful.
"A lot of us also just...don't know how to help."
Yo-lai seemed concerned. "Your water is...poisoned?"
The mood suddenly became darker. "Hey," Jace said finally, "If there's one thing humans are good at it's innovation. My friend Markus is studying to be an engineer in renewable energy. We'll make it better, one day."
Yo-lai contented himself with the fact that he had much more to learn about the humans and their world, but that could wait.
Jace suddenly grinned mischievously he cupped a handful of water and flicked it at the silver-haired Yo-lai.
"Ah!" Yo-lai laughed, getting up from the table to examine the new water stains on his clothes.
When Dantalion approached Jace took two involuntary steps back. The djinn still intimidated him. Watching him play with the portals however filled him with more of the feeling of wonder, a feeling that was becoming very familiar to him now.
Then, Jace did something that he didn't really think through...he cupped his hands in the ocean a second time, and launched water at the djinn, dancing back with a laugh, suddenly excited, and also terrified of how he would react.

As Dantalion studied the creatures within the water he was attempting to sort them out based on color and from there see what was the cause of the colors. He knew it was a chemical process, but he wanted to isolate which chemicals. That was something that he could only do with larger quantities. However, just before he was about to figure out a way to do so he involuntarily flinched as he felt water against his skin. The portals closed and the water fell silent once more. Dantalion turned with a surprised yet annoyed look on his face. Then he noticed the human bent over with his hands cupped in the water and a mischievous smile of his own appear on his face. Dantalion silently raised his hands to the sky and his third eye locked onto Jack. A large portal appear beneath Dantalion and began to take in water, the water under Dantalion fell into the portal creating a small waterfall. Dantalion wagged his finger at the human and said, “ Don’t start a war you can’t win”. With that Dantalion lazily pointed at Jace and a portal roughly the size of a chair opened above the boy. Dantalion wanted to see if these humans were as interesting as he thought. This would be a fun way to test him. “Dodge if you can”. The Djinn advised before allowing a large blob of water to fall through the portal.

The Mistress of Copper Mountain
To Azovka's delight, the Djinn humored her and joined her to eat. But, then he was called away by one of the odd ones with the strange little box.
As though this didn't bother her in the least, she leaned back in her chair again, staring down at her embroidery as though thinking what she might do next, and bouncing her knee to keep moving. She managed to keep the look of disappointment off her face, keeping it her signature neutral expression instead. However, the lizard on her head paced back and forth, almost keeping in time with her knee.
Finally, she could stand staring at the stitched flowers no longer, and drew her eyes across those near her. One, a gentleman, was seeking comfort in his drink, the all too familiar look of homesickness and longing about him. Another, a girl with hair as red as the fire that the miners worked under, was expressing her wariness of staying by the water. Azovka understood this. She did not fare well with water, always sinking to the bottom no matter what form she took.
The maiden wanted to comfort both of them, to tell the man that she understood his loneliness and to offer the girl a place to stay with her, under the ground. But, then, the white haired man unfurled a map, drawing attention to him, and a native of the town offered their home to the girl.
Azovka felt bitter, but she kept silent, her lips drawn in a thin line.
She leaned forward to look at the map, curious about this world. She had spent her entire life on the mountain. She did not know anything about this place. And it was so big! Bigger than she had thought possible. Then, her eyes fell on the mountains and her gaze softened. She reached out and gently traced her finger across one. It looked so small.
"Rodina*," she whispered sadly.
Then, a splash made her flinch reflexively. She turned her eyes to the sound and found two of the odd ones playing in the water, making it shine like stars when they disturbed it. Dantalion joined them, and began to play.
A hint of a smile appeared on her lips as she watched them, her fingers tapping at the mountain on the map.

Jekyll.jpg
Jekyll finished his second goblet as Yo-Lai was unrolling the map of Fablewood before the group. Their were several areas that he hadn't been to yet. The desert he had heard was unforgiving, but given the choice, he would rather be there than the Winter Wastes. A good bit of the rest of it he had been to at some point or another. Well, Hyde had. He let him handle the dangerous areas and there inhabitants.
The splash of the water made Jekyll turn to look at the others creating showers of sparks in the moonlight. It was a truly beautiful sight to see honestly. One of many he had been privileged to in his years in Fablewood. But as he watched, he overheard Kiara talking about the human world and this "poison" that was in their water. The pollution of the human world sounded horrible, and he was surprised that his fellow humans had let the world grow to such a state.

Between the Dijin creating the portals in the water, and the excietment growing in the group, Jekyll almos tmissed the very subtle word that came from the woman also looking over the map. If he hadn't seen the Dijin come from the lamp she held, Jekyl would have never known who she was. She looked much more "hard core" with dark hair, matching eye liner, and semi pale skin. She had the same green eyes and dark hair as when Hyde first saw her, but she looked different to him now. But he still understood what she said. At least, he thoguht he had. At Campridge, he had studied Russian a little bit as his foriegn language. So when he heard her say, "home", Jekyll smirked and tried to think back to what he had learned years ago.

Ash's eyes sparkled with excitement as Dantalion agreed to the photo. It's not everyday you get a picture of a crazy magic being! As they were fishing the camera back out they heard the sprawling of parchment upon the table everyone was eating at. Just as the camera was out and ready for its last photo, it seemed the magic being had taking interest elsewhere. Ash produced a dumbfounded look as this was the first time anyone immediately dropped what they were doing in front of them. At first they were confused but soon smiled at the irony of meeting someone who can drop interests faster. They glanced at everyone looking at the map but Ash couldn't make heads or tails of it, maybe they should take up cartography now? It seemed to be a neat skill in this world. With that thought in mind, they clutched the camera a little harder. No, no... you said you would try it out a little longer. They thought to them-self. Before Ash got completely lost in thought, they heard splashing just a little distance away. There, they saw a few others like her and the magical person playing in the water that lit up like the fireflies.

Without a word, they walked closer to the group. As if on instinct they snapped a picture of everyone flinging colorful water at each other as well as a large rush of water coming from nowhere. The flash of light was quick and possibly blinding to some if they were close by and staring. Ash heard the ding as the camera finally died out till tomorrow. "I hope that turns out well..." They said with a somber smile. Gazing back up to everyone, Ash wondered what to do. There was the magical water or the magical fireflies.

Seeing everyone having fun in the water, the fireflies felt like a fading fad. Quickly packing up the camera and dropping the jacket and scarf, Ash started bolting for the water. With a large leap, they grabbed their legs and held them close to their chest. "Cannon ball!" They yelled as they landed in between everyone.

Jace's face fell the moment Dantalion turned to him. He had made a grave error. He eyed the portals suspiciously, wondering if the Djinn was going to send him into a volcano...or space. When the portal appeared above him he gave a small yelp and threw himself out of it's range. The outcome: he barely dodged the water from the jinn's portal, but the price was landing face first in the waves. Jace hauled himself up, trailing streams of water and laughing wildly, more for relief that he wasn't sent to Antarctica than anything. He aimed another splash at Dantalion, this time on the alert for portals above his head. He had the distinct feeling that he was very unfairly outmatched.
Ash's canonball sent a fresh wave of water to soak his already drenched clothes. He laughed harder and staggered back in the waves they made, poised and ready to splash the too when they surfaced.

Yo-lai watched them happily.

Dantalion chuckled as the water from the females cannonball soaked him head to toe. He hadn’t had this much fun in centuries! He focused back on Jace who was poised for another attack. “ You need to open your mind if you want to have a chance at beating me. Dantalion said pointing at him which spawned another portal from above along with more water. The Djinn was sure he would dodge and continued to talk. “It is you humans you formed this world, gave me the power that I have. Realize this world answers your call. Show me that potential.” Dantalion all but ordered as he launched another attack this time targeting both the humans. He would scale up the speed little by little to push them. His mind going from enjoying the fun to testing them, and wanting to figure them out. What are thier limits? What power do they really hold over this world? He wanted to know, no matter the cost.

Ash felt the cool water wash over them as the splash swirled back. Submerged for the moment, they opened their eyes to the salty water. While it stung, the brief moment of colors above them was beautiful. Their eyes forced themselves shut while they resurfaced. With a few small gasps for air, Ash rubbed their eyes trying to sooth them. Before they knew it, a gush of water toppled upon them forcing them back into the cool water. Shocked for the moment they resurfaced quickly and moved as fast as they could trying to make sense of what just transpired. To Ash's delight, both Jace and them were in a water fight with Dantalion. With only arms and legs to splash against the portals, it seemed like a knife versus a gun fight. As if on queue, a portal caught up to Ash, forcing them into the water again. This time the salt didn't bother their eyes as much. They waited below the surface for a few more moments. As they remained underneath, the portals seemed to have a little less force to them. It still pushed Ash down but not with the same force. With that, a smile curled on their lips. Resurfacing and inhaling as big a breath as they could, they waited for the next rush of water to take them. Guess I will just stay underwater then. Ash thought as they were pushed back below.

Swimming as fast as they could, Ash tried their best to dodge the geysers. They weren't sure how to win this game of water but Dantalion still hadn't set foot into the water. With the salt now easing into their eyes, Ash saw what they believed was the shadow of the magic man. With a surge of force, They reached out to grab his legs in hopes they could pull him in. "Gotcha!" If that didn't work, perhaps a portal would soak both of them. Either way, Ash thought they were being clever.

Kiara cried out in surprise as this little game began, getting completely soaked as the wave from Dantalion’s first attack hit her. She got pushed under the water, opening her eyes to see the bright swirls of plankton around her. Just for a moment, time seemed to stand still, her eyes wide with wonder as she observes what looks like an underwater aurora.

Then the reality of the situation slammed into her, and she realized that she had been washed over a drop off, her feet no longer touching the sand below her. More urgently, her dress was soaked, and dragging her down the longer she remained idle. She looked around, trying to get her bearings, before desperately beating her arms and legs in the water, making frighteningly slow process through the glowing water.

The Mistress of Copper Mountain
"Vy zhivete v gorakh?"
Russian! Again! The lonely gentleman knew Russian. Sure, his accent was atrocious, but she could understand! And he understood her!!
"Yes, I was born of the mountain Azov," the maiden told the gentleman in Russian. She nodded her head, and the lizard on her head crawled down her arm. It scittered onto the mountain of the map, curling up into a ball on its peak.
"And from where do you hail? Certainly not a wild place, no? But perhaps a big city? Often times, the places where there are more people are the places that are most lonely."

Azovka reached out to put a hand on his arm, recalling his lonely expression from earlier. She removed her hand again to reveal a pair of malachite and gold cufflinks.
She opened her mouth to say something again, but her eyes caught the scene in the ocean. The splashing had turned into a water war, and Dantallion was cheating, using his powers for portals. But, she realozed, the Djinn was not plaging anymore. He seemed to be using more powerful attacks each time, if just by a little. She didn't think the humans had noticed, but this could get out of hand eventually.
As she watched, she saw her ward from earlier get swept up in the mayhem and now was struggling to get back to shallower water.
"Dantalion! Stop this!" She called out to the Djinn in English. She stood, stopping her foot hard onto the ground. The limestone under her foot compressed under her foot and sent a ripple toward the water. The stone crawled across the sand until it slid up the waves heading toward the struggling girl. It got into position beneath her, tilted, and pushed forward, hopefully acting as a sort of springboard or paddle to send her back toward shore.

Dantalion was surprised when he felt something grabbing at his feet. He had been fixed on Jace and and Kiara that he hadn’t been paying too much attention to Ash. His third eye had been moving between the three of them launching portals at them so as to halt thier advance on him. Despite Ash’s attempt of dragging him down into the water Dantalion was perfectly capable of floating there with her hanging onto him. Instead of just awkwardly floating there when Dantalion felt the bands he turned his legs to smoke and watched as Ash fell back into the water. “ Nice try, but you’ll have to try harder than that if you want to catch me” Dantalion chuckled and with a wave of his hand a portal opened under her and would spit her out on the shore.

Dantalion would increase the intensity of his attack on Jace and Kiara, intent on driving them into a corner and forcing out thier potential. A mad glint appeared in the Djinn’s eyes as he became consumed by the desire to test them and figure them out. “Come on, you need to try harder than that if you want to face me!” Dantalion noticed Kiara’s plight and opened a portal just out of her reach. The portal would in take water and probably pull her in and spit her out on top of Jace. Whether the Djinn’s madness was related to the moon or his own nature Dantalion didn’t know and did not care.

It took longer than Dantalion cared to admit for him to hear the orders of his mistress, but when they did his powers stopped on their own and water grew quiet again. “Sorry I... don’t know what came over me.” Dantalion said flying back to shore.

Jekyll.jpg
Jekyl smiled to the woman after he spoke to her. The conversation within her own language seemed to brighten her spirits ever so slightly, which made Jekyll happy.
As he watched the little lizard curl up on the map and Azovka mentioned the name of the mountain. He cocked his head, the name sounded somewhat familiar to him but what was really interesting was how it started her name. Before he could inquire further, she asked about his own home. At this, Jekyl froze. He glanced towards the humans playing in the water and then back to her. He wasn't really sure how to respond to her. He hadn't ever really found any place in Fablewood that he had called home yet. But he didn't really think of the human world as his home any more either.
"Bezdomnyy..." (Homeless)
He mumbled to himself as his eyes fell on the cufflinks she had in her hands. They were beautiful and Jekyll couldn't help but reach out to admire their craftsmanship.
"Oni prekrasny!"(Its beautiful!)
Turning the cuffs over in his fingers, Jekyll missed Azovka leaving to go after her escaped Dijin.
"Vy sdelali eto?"(Did you make this?)
Jekyll felt Hyde "poke" his mind, which Jekyll looked up to find that Azovka had left.
Smooooooth Jekyl. As always.
Ignoring him Jekyl stood from the table, a little wobbly, and watched as Azovka took control of the situation. Namely the Dijin.
At that, Jekyll turned back to the table where Yo-lai sat.
"I think it might be time for everyone to get some rest. I know I'm going to hit the hay, that wine was much stronger than I anticipated."

Grima.jpeg

With a thunderous roar the fabled direbear Grima comes bounding almost out of thin air which seems impossible considering its gargantuan size!? Its black maw could gobble them all in one bite. The massive paws drumming up a beat of terror as the monster is almost upon the fablewood citizens and the humans. The Rhino sized creature is about to be upon his prey, as a silver haired, leather clad muscular man runs between all of them.

Viking.jpg

Seggr, the Viking hero of legend grapples the bear like a linebacker blocking the opposing line. Though he is decidedly smaller than the monster bear, the hero begins pushing it back away from the oncoming savagery that was about to ensue. Even more curious than this strange scene, The Viking is smiling and laughing, turning the DireBear Grima on his side. Tickling the mass of black fur the young man says "kjánalegt björn, þau eru ekki mat." Finally turning, the gallant Seggrs' smile seems to almost melt off his face. Raising a hand he simply says "Halló"

Stepping forward towards the crowd, his muscular form stepping with a misleading grace and careful precision. His Sword Skofnung and Axe Endursenda across Seggrs back gleam with the spark of silver steel. The cold icicle like eyes scan each of their faces, especially the face of the Djinn, he could smell the magic on him. Wafting almost like a exotic perfume with a pungent aroma, as well as The Monkey King, the smell of Nature and goodness. Seggr nods to Wukong as he waits for all to acknowledge him as is polite in most customs.

Jace didn't have much more potential to offer, it started out fun. He did his best to dodge, getting hit more and more frequently. It was when he noticed the others truly in danger that he started to panic.
"Hey! Stop!" He tired to call but a jet from one of the portals hit him and he choked, salt water pouring into his lungs. The Djinn wasn't playing anymore.
Jace fell into the water, trying to claw his way back up. The lights from the plankton were bright flashes in front of his eyes. He saw Kiara struggling, tried to reach her. Then a stone pillar came up from underneath her. Suddenly everything became still again. Jace coughed and spluttered and stood in the waist deep water. He waded back to shore, suddenly feeling the anger that had before been consumed by fear.
"What the heck?!" He shouted at the Djinn. "I thought you were supposed to be one of the things not trying to kill us."

Yo-lai was mid-way into the shallows. He sighed with relief when the humans reappeared safely. Without another thought he requested their hosts fetch changes of clothes.
"I think sleep is a marvelous idea." Yo-lai answered Jekyll, not taking his eyes of the Djinn.

Jace wiped salt water from his nose as he was helped to shore by the locals. Some of them held thick, cotton towels and wrapped him tightly, others brought clothes and fresh water to take sticky salt from skin.

Once the humans were seen to Yo-lai turned grimly to Dantalion.
"I am not sure what it is you thought you were doing, but you put the humans at risk." The usual, meek demeanor had vanished. His voice was still soft, but now it held a slightest hint of an edge. "This. Will. Not. Happen. Again." He enunciated very clearly. "Is that understood? You will be permitted to stay only if you are here to ensure the safety of our charges."
He turned to Azovka, less harsh but still firm. "If you must order him to do it then so be it. I may not be the most intimidating person, but so help me I will not see innocents hurt while they are in my care. Do I make myself clear?"

Jace sat on the beach not long after. He cast his gaze about for Kiara, wanting to ask if she was okay. He nearly lost it when the giant bear leapt from the trees skirting the small Grecian village. Yo-lai was up in an instant, but relaxed when the man came bounding after and tackled the great bear.
"Oh! Don't worry everyone. They're friends."
Jace was not prepared to believe that a giant, salivating hairy monster was anymore a friend than the giant three-headed dog they had seen earlier that day. Still, the man's warm greeting did a little to lower his suspicion.

"Hey." Jace said, getting up and brushing sand from his brand new toga (his own clothes, soaked through were drying by a fire. "I've seen a lot of bears before but nothing as big as that one. What are you feeding him?"

Yo-lai approached cautiously. "Seggr, right? Well met Northman...you're...you're very far from the Winter Wilds."
He glanced at the party, imagining they must be quite tired by that point.
"I invite you to tell us that tale in the morning. For now, we should let our charges rest."

Jace remembered seagulls in his dream, keening over a gold and emerald shoreline. When he opened his eyes he heard the waves lapping enthusiastically at the sand. He shifted and felt the pull of unfamiliar fabric. Then his memory came flooding back. He was in a toga...in an ancient Grecian village...in a fairy tale land.
He pushed open the door to the little beach house and saw several things at once:
Breakfast had been laid very carefully out on the table they had sat at last night. Yo-lai sat at the table, pouring over the map he had shown them last night. The strange silver-haired character looked up and grinned. "Good morning Jace!"
Something was different. Yo-lai didn't sound like he had last night. Jace started to wonder if the salt water had got into his ears. He approached the table slowly, but as he came close he noticed he didn't look quite the same either. This Yo-lai...wasn't a 'he' at all. Even though her clothing was still long and flowing, her form was distinctly different.
Jace stood there blinking for a moment.
"I hope you slept well." Yo-lai said happily.
"You....you're a girl."
"Yes."
"But....you...were you always a girl?"
"No. Last night I was a boy."
"But...you can...change your gender?"
Yo-lai gave him a puzzled look. "Can't you?"
"Wha? I..no. Humans can't...overnight anyway. Most usually stick to one."
Yo-lai looked up seriously, her bright violet eyes fixed on him. "That. Sounds awful."

Kiara felt the stone rise up beneath her, and struggled toward the shore, coughing up water as she felt the panic subside. She didn’t talk too much after that, deciding it was far past time she went to bed. Perhaps she would wake from this madness. She got into new, dry clothes, and went into her cabin. It didn't take her long to fall asleep, her dreams full of multicolored lights.

She opened her eyes slowly the next morning, feeling the dried salt water on her skin. She looked around the strange little cabin she found herself waking up in, and sighed. Either it wasn’t a dream, or it was annoyingly persistent. She huffed, pulling the blanket back over herself. She was not comfortable leaving the safety of her room yet.
