Wu Kong had not expected this much chaos in such a short span of time. Humans appearing left and right, some panicking and shutting down, others recklessly running about. It seemed that for the most part, they could not comprehend where they were and were exceptionally disoriented, to the point of their ensuing panic. Surely, some humor would aid such fear, but Wu Kong had no idea what to joke about. It was still rather serious with Cerberus nearby and someone could be mauled to death if they made any mistakes.

Smirking at Yo-Lai's response to his joke, Wu Kong wondered if any of the nearby humans could appreciate his humor. Sadly, they were all still panicking for the most part. Darn.

Smiling at Yo-Lai's introduction of Jekyll, Wu Kong nodded at the scientist that he had recently mocked. Hopefully, he wasn't deterred by this behavior, but not everyone was keen on how Wu Kong acts. Pleased by his own introduction, Wu Kong then bowed before Jekyll, his tail curving around his body.

In a seemingly sarcastic tone, Wu Kong said, "A pleasure to meet you, Dr. Jekyll."

Hearing the compliments towards his handling of the horses, Wu Kong's smile widened and he stood up from his bow. "Thank you, I take great pride in the horses."

It seemed that his friend's social skills were a wee bit lacking, though, as he proclaimed about the nearest human as if she were a specimen and not in fact a human. Perhaps he'd get along really well with Dr. Jekyll. Well, it seemed they already did considering they actually knew one another. It seemed to explain why Yo-Lai socialized the way he does.

Sighing and briefly covering his face with a hand, Wu Kong then looked back up and said, "Yo-Lai, stop acting like...yourself. Try to be a wee bit normal for once, will you?" Still, though, the armor wasn't a bad idea. "We should definitely commission the nearest smith to make them some armor. Or perhaps a leatherworker? I think metal armor might be a bit much for these newcomers." Looking back at Cerberus, Wu Kong nodded at this idea and added, "Considering our first encounter with the humans, armor would most certainly be a good idea and maybe some clothes more suiting for our area. We may not want everyone knowing these people are not from here."

Blinking at his friend's comment of 'fiddle', Wu Kong merely continued to stare at Cerberus, who seemed quite upset now. Perhaps now would be a good time to attack it? While keen to show off, especially with the nearby lady, Wu Kong had to resist the urge. After all, Yo-Lai had announced that Wu Kong would help protect the humans with them. He couldn't ust brazenly charge off on his own now. Sadly.

Watching yet another human struggle over to the group, Wu Kong wondered how any of these humans would survive in this world. Perhaps a training session would be a good idea once they got away from here. It seemed like these humans would all perish in an actual fighting scenario. They were all lucky that Cerberus focused more on defending than attacking.

While Yo-Lai rushed off to bicker with the mysterious archer, Wu Kong returned his attention to the humans gathering around him and Dr. Jekyll. Just as he did, the woman from before grabbed his arm in fear. Surprised, Wu Kong took a step back, but quickly stopped himself. Letting out a quiet snort, Wu Kong let her hold on since he seemed to be somehow comforting her. While she was certainly pleasing to the eye, Wu Kong had no idea how to react to a stranger suddenly grabbing onto him like this. He wasn't used to this. He definitely spent too much time alone or with the horses.

Soon, talk of a plan came about and ideas were thrown around. While the others considered sleep darts, calming music, and eventually food was passed out to everyone nearby, Wu Kong felt his attention wandering. His eyes were back on Cerberus, who was not only agitated, but now eyeballing the mysterious woman who had appeared briefly to the group, spoken in a foreign language, and then charged off towards a human flailing about in one of the temple windows. As he watched, Wu Kong's eyes widened at the sight of the woman manipulating the stone until the window was large enough for the human to squeeze through. "Amazing," Wu Kong muttered to himself. Manipulation of the elements had always been a fascinating concept to Wu Kong, though he rarely got the chance to witness anyone capable of doing such a thing.

As Cerberus lurched forward, as if to attack, Wu Kong reacted instinctively and left the woman with a hurried, "Sorry, I must go," as he turned back to his horse and leapt on. Alas, it took a moment too long for him to get settled and just as he was about to kick his horse's sides, Wu Kong noticed the human fleeing the temple already. On top of this, Piper had begun playing his music so the dog seemed to be calming. Some food had been launched in its direction, an admiral throw from this distance, and Cerberus no longer seemed to care about the mysterious stone-manipulator nearby. Well then.

Sighing, Wu Kong stayed upon his horse at this point, unsure of what to do. Yo-Lai still seemed intent on getting into the temple for what he sought and Wu Kong figured it was better than sitting on his horse and doing nothing. "I suppose someone should lead the dog away from the temple if you still desire what is inside. It's probably safest if I handle that."

Looking at Yo-Lai now, Wu Kong added, "Get inside the temple when I lead the guard dog away. I've no idea how long I'll be able to keep his attention and he's certainly intent on performing his duty."

The humans were still struggling with what was happening and now it seemed they were all safe for the most part. That meant his protecting job was essentially done. Letting out a breath, Wu Kong then kicked his horse into action, its hooves clattering against the pebbles marking the 'road' they had been on. Dust kicked up behind him, leaving a faint trail of where he had been. The panting of his horse filled his ears and Wu Kong leaned forward with his staff out to his side in one hand. It was a safe bet that a small thwack to the side of one of the dog's three heads would enrage it once more. Its attention would then be entirely on Wu Kong and none of the others nearby.

Less than a minute later, Wu Kong was at the dog's side and he let out a challenging shout before he aimed his staff at the nearest dog head. Not waiting to see his effect on the dog, Wu Kong led his horse past the dog and onward towards the beach over yonder. The farther away he could get Cerberus, the better for everyone else.

The Mistress of Copper Mountain
"What's happening?"
Oh. Not Russian. This was English, right?
Her stories had been told in English and even some of the newer miners on her mountain spoke it. She knew it. She wasn't fluent, but she knew it.
Azovka parted her lips to answer, but the giant dog stole her attention away at it snapped at her.
She blinked her green eyes before they narrowed.

"Po'shyol 'na hu!*"
She pushed up the sleeves of her shirt, looking ready to bring the wrath of the feared Mistress herself upon the hellhound.
But, then the window girl screamed and cowered, and she relaxed. She couldn't start after the dog with her here. She wasn't about to drag this helpless girl into a fight. She knew she had to stay with her and protect her. Maybe she could make a shield of the stone building beside them?
Then it's (their?) manner changed as gentle music filled the air. It became more like the pet dogs she was accustomed to seeing in the homes of her people. It (they?) seemed even more distracted away from them as food was thrown toward the beast.
This was the perfect time to get the girl to safety.
"Do not fear. I wish you no ill will," She said softly, her words laced with a heavy Russian accent. She nodded her head, trying to be comforting in her way. Without a smile on her face, she looked as steadfast and certain as stone. She honestly looked rather intimidating if not resolute despite her small stature.
"Remain by my side and you will be safe," She told the girl before attempting to lead the girl back to the group of the out of place people. They seemed as though they knew what was happening. Or, well, half of them seemed to know. The other half seemed to be like this girl here, scared out of their mind.

Kiara looked up at the woman, blinking in confusion. She couldn’t help but notice the odd way she spoke to her. It seemed oddly formal, and somewhat old fashioned. At least Kiara could understand her this time.

“Alright.” She whispered, glancing at Cerberus fearfully. Her eyes widened, as she saw Wu Kong charging the creature. “Oh no, he’s gonna make it mad again!” She took a step back, looking like she might bolt, if not for the mistress saying to stay near. But she’s absolutely terrified, mainly for the man on the horse.

Jekyll.jpg

Jekyll smiled as he watched the young human man reach out to the other two human girls that were panicking. They would be in good hands with this young man, so Jekyll needed to help get this Cerberus issue taken care of. Standing back to face the dog, Jekyll felt his mind pulling at him in its familar way.
The humns will be fine, lets do this before its to late Jekyll!!
Jekyll's eyes went to the side of the road to find another building that looked empty at the moment. Jekyll slowly backed away from the group, his hand reaching into his his bag until he was far enough away that he could skip from the group, hopefully unnoticed.

The building was smaller than the temple that Cerberus was guarding, but still held the regal feel the was Greek inspired. The smooth white pillars of the columns were cold, even with the warmer air flowing through. But Jekyll did not have time to admire the stone architecture, his hand was already holding the bright green bottle. White knuckled, Jekyll pulled the topper off the bottle, and held it up to his lips.
"Half dose, you have 2 hours."
As he tipped the phial back, Jekyll could feel a wave of relief washing over him with every sip. The bright green liquid went down as it always did, bitter with the after taste of something that tasted like a watery acid. The effects, where what was the worst part. It burned all the way through. Not just into his bones, skin, and even his hair; but down into his very soul. The pain racked him so much, that he crumpled over as bright green liquid seemed to poor from every part of Jekyll's face. With a single solitary cry, Jekyll vanished from the crumpled heap, and Hyde stood with his devilish grin.

Hyde.jpg
After a quick change from the cloths in Jekyl's bag, abstaining his jacket for mobility, Hyde stepped out of the temple and took a deep breathe.
"Aaahhh, sweet freedom."
Hyde, do not endanger the humans or the others. Just focus on moving Cerberus.
Hyde rotated his neck creating a solid poping noise.
"Bugger off Jekyll, its my turn to have some fun."
Tossing the bag over his shoulder, Hyde began trotting back towards the road as he saw the monkey man galloping away on his horse towards the large dog. This gave Hyde an idea. Hyde reached into the bag and grabbed the bun Jekyll had stuck in, and then tossed the bag to the side. Hyde then began to run towards the Monkey, rolling up the sleeves of his shirt as he stuffed the bun into his pocket. As Wu arrived at Cerberus, Hyde clapped his hands together and leapt high as he could towards the horse.
"Make some room, Monkey Man!!"
Hyde aimed for the back of the horse, not really caring how well tempered the beast was. He aimed for the rear, landing with his bare feet as he flung his hands out to the side. The air around the horse and its now two riders, and seemed to solidify into a cream hazy color. From the inside, it was if the air had just turned this creamy color, but from the outside, the image of a large pastry had enveloped the horse and its riders.

Hyde turned back to the driver, smiling over his shoulder.
"Once you get far enough, i'll toss it the sleepy bun. But you better not let it catch you. I don't plan on being a snack for poochie here."
Once Hyde felt the horse begin to move towards the beach and away from the temple, Hyde reached into his pocket and readied bun. Once they were far enough away, Hyde would toss the bun with the illusion to make it look like the large bun was coming to Cerberus to eat.

Lira took a moment in her own head. No amount of counting would help her at this point but the others around her were. When the other normal seeming guy began to talk to her, small inches of a smile began to make it's way in the corner of her lips. It was comforting to know that others where around her in the same positions. Taking his hand she wiped the dampness from her face with the palm of her other. "Thankyou.." she almost whispered it but that's all she could manage to get out at this point in time. Slowly turning her eyes caught with Cerberus, apart from the three heads, big teeth and enormous claws, he was almost cute. Almost. Wen Yo-lai cried out it was working, Lira couldn't have felt more relieved, she'd been in her won state of panic so much that she hadn't helped, it was a downing feeling but it was almost over, that's what mattered the most.

She gazed out as the strange beings began to trap and tempt the beast. The music that was playing was beautiful at it was calming for Lira after a while, closing her eyes her head began to sway and so did her hands slightly. Small little blips of her songs came from her lips in a slow and soft lullaby. It wasn't so much to try and help with Cerberus but more for Liras own calming state. She couldn't do much with little muscle, distracting herself was how she could help, by causing less around her.

When a flute player showed up, Ashley was somewhat relieved, especially after the dog started calming down by the playing music. After wards, one of the mystery cakes that was in her hand seemed to have landed on one of their noses, to which the Archer started giggling. Looking around, she didn't even know where to start, but there were definitely quite a bit of humans, most of whom seem to be from the other world judging by their clothing and what they had on them. Youthful, but not as young as the ones that had come before them. Of course, she couldn't help but wonder what happened to the ones who had come before. The only one who stayed was Elena, who was now with Ward. She could only hope that they were doing alright back home with her daughter, Lillian.

Wondering what to do next, Ashley folded her arms while watching as Cerberus was put into submission. If she hadn't fired that arrow, maybe that beast would have continued to take his nap. She was sure that she could have snuck past the beast, but got too bold to try and kill it not knowing what it was, only to miss because her arrow was blown aside by the wind. Because she put several people, including herself, in danger, she felt really bad. Frowning, she sighed before quietly rejoining the group that she was currently with. Having company again was nice. Finally she approached the elegant looking young man. "What's the closest town to here?" She asked before peering back at the rest of their newfound companions.

Cerberus was so busy hunting the grass for more cakes that Wu Kong's blow caught him completely off guard. The head that was struck gave an alarmed yelp and the others snarled, fixing their sight on the rider that flew past them. Cerberus gave chase. Despite balancing three heads on his shoulder he was alarmingly fast. Huge paws ate up the ground and he was closing the distance steadily.

Yo-lai shouted encouragement to his friends, quite certain the Cerberus' focus was taken up entirely by the pursuit.
"He's gaining! Wu Kong!" Yo-lai's hand went to his mouth, he almost couldn't bear to watch. "I...wait, who is that?"
The dark-haired man had seemingly come out of nowhere to jump straight for the back of Wu Kong's horse. He seemed intent on helping however, whoever he was and so, Yo-lai started for the temple.

Yo-lai wouldn't risk trying to get in until Cernerus had been subdued. Instead he went to the human newly-freed.
"You have my thanks," he told the mysterious woman who had bent stone before his eyes. "Come, my friends have things well in hand. I am Yo-lai. To whom do I owe the daring rescue of this young woman?"

Jace smiled at Lira as she began to calm herself with music.
"That's pretty," he said, more to make conversation and distract from the monster than anything else. "Where'd you learn it?"

The Mistress of Copper Mountain
“Oh no, he’s gonna make it mad again!”
Her new ward cowered behind her and Azovka threw out her arms as though trying to make her small stature as big as possible. She wasn't letting anything happen to the girl, not while she could help it. But, the hellhound did not come for them, but instead took after the horse and its rider. Azovka relaxed, eyeing the yellow man on horseback. Either a very brave fellow or very stupid. Either way, she admired his actions. Then, a dark haired gentleman leapt upon the horse and it seemed that the three turned into a giant snack. Azovka wrinkled her nose. Now, this gentleman was even more rash. Perhaps they were going to end up killing themselves, eaten alive by the beast. She wanted to do something in aid. She eyed the stone pillars of the building they were beside. There were plenty of them. The building would not fall if it were missing one.
Azovka placed a palm on the cool building, her green eyes watching the giant dog. A pillar broke away, moving almost like a snake as it fell length wise to the ground. It stretched itself out, looking almost like a spaghetti noddle, approaching the dog while still keeping in contact with the building it belonged to. It stopped right in front of the animal's feet, then thickened as much as it could to make a short wall of sorts.
Hopefully, this would be able to trip the dog, slow it down so that it would not over taken the horse and its riders.
"You have my thanks," came a male voice. She turned, surprised she hadn't felt him coming for a moment before remembering the soft ground under her feet in place of stone. "Come, my friends have things well in hand. I'm Yo-lai. To whom do I owe the daring rescue of this young woman?"
Great. More English. Did the whole world off her mountain only speak English?
"I have no need of your thanks," She told the handsome white boy in her stiff, Russian accented voice. "I have come seeking answers, but have found more trouble instead. People call me many things, but my name is Azovka." Her green eyes looked over him critically, and for a brief moment, she wondered how he saw her.
Her eyes turned to the girl behind her and she nodded her head, trying to be comforting in her way.
"You are safe with me, as promised," She told her, reaching out a hand for the girl's. She grasped it and broke away again, leaving behind a small broach of malachite and silver.

Kiara watched as the two strange men made their move to distract Cerberus. She was amazed that Hyde was so fast as to keep up with the horse. But she had no idea what happened after that. They looked like a giant pastry, and there was no way she could justify that.

Her attention was drawn to Yo-lai as he approached her and the mistress, and she shied back a bit nervously. But he seemed calm, and friendly even. He also seemed to speak more like what she was used to hearing, which was good. She stayed quiet as they spoke, until the mistress took her hand, giving her a very beautiful brooch.

Kiara looked up at her, her eyes wide. “Thank you.” She murmured, glad that she’d gotten her mind mostly in order again. “I’m sorry, but can one of you please tell me where I am? What was that thing, what’s happening, why am I here?” She asked, trying to keep hold of her emotions. She looked lost and confused, though not as frightened as she was before.

The moment Wu Kong and Jekyll (Hyde?) sped away, poor little Cerberus trailing after them, Piper finally lowered his flute. He breathed a sigh of relief, taking care to count his limbs and make sure they were all still there. Even his beloved hat -- a prize he’d won from a bet with a wizard -- still sat snug on his head. He was almost certain it was going to run away in terror earlier. In his experience, hats and dogs rarely ever got along.

Piper watched the chase. A part of him felt worried for the two (well, the three -- the horse was just as important in Piper’s book), but he’d heard enough tales about both the monkey king and the good doctor to know that they were more than capable of taking care of themselves. Besides, it was hard to keep thinking of Cerberus -- as misplaced as the poor thing seemed to be -- when so many more curious things awaited Piper down the stone path.

The first curiosity he entertained, of course, was the one closest to him: The human boy -- Piper’s admirer, as Yo-Lai jokingly called him -- with his chocolate shock of hair that accentuated his doe-eyed, emerald gaze. Piper still had yet to hear him speak, though he chalked it up to shyness or shock. ‘I do apologise for the spectacle. I can’t seem to recall Deadly Beast Encounter anywhere in the schedule.’ He grinned, almost apologetically, rubbing the back of his neck as if the entire affair was more embarrassing than anything.

‘Oh! And where are my manners?’ He took off his hat, placing it against his chest as he took a theatrical bow. ‘The Pied Piper of Hamelin, at your service,’ he stood upright once again, placing the hat back atop his golden locks. ‘It is a mouthful, I understand, so Piper works just as well. Or you could call me Pied, I suppose, though that would be like calling Sleeping Beauty “Sleeping.” She wouldn’t like that, I don’t think; she always seems so … particular about how she likes things,’ Piper continued to ramble on and on, the vibrant, sing-song voice regressing into pleasant mumbles as he witnessed what seemed like one of the Greek columns gaining sentience.

Dumbfounded, he found himself only blinking for the better part of the minute, until his whirlwind of thoughts brought him back to the present. ‘Oh, sorry, I drifted off! That wasn’t part of the schedule either, see, and just now I’d decided that any more schedules shall henceforth be thrown out the window. What was I saying? Oh, yes, yes. Have you got a name, mein Leiber? Or we could get you one, I suppose, if it happened to get lost on your way to FableWood.’

Hibiki watched entranced when he finally realized Cerberus existed, a giant dog beast but he was soon distracted by the soothing playing the object of his current artistic desires began to play. Though Hibiki generally didn't like music all that much, this was soothing, calming, and coming from his muse at the moment, inspiring. His attention had been forced back onto said peculiar male while the rest of the world continued on around him.

The thing that snapped him out of his trance was the music stopping, quickly looking around trying to regain his bearings. His eyes caught the back of the horse and the two riding it being chased by the Cerberus, leaving the area. Hibiki would be wondering what he'd missed but the sound of his muses voice snapped him out of his pondering. Hibiki listened intently to his muse's (Piper, as he'd introduced himself) ramblings, to which raised a number of questions yet at the same time made the other more intriguing.

Questions such as- Why was Piper embarrassed about the beast? What deadly beast?! Sleeping Beauty? Is she part of this wondrous world? What had happened while he was entranced? Who were the people around them anyways? Yet all these questions seemed to flutter out of his mind as Piper had asked for his name. Hibiki blushed in his own embarrassment when he was snapped out of his wondering. He quickly shook his head, shaking off his blush as he decided how he was going to relay his name. Hibiki thought signing it was currently the easiest method and so that's exactly what he did.
He just prayed Piper would understand it.

Lira kept her eyes close as she sang, the tales of sailors, sirens and Cupid. It was flowing like the river and as calming as the morning sun. Her mind settled while Jayce began to speak to her again. Long lashes moved as her eyes opened, in the corner of her might her lips tucked into a small smile. “My grandparents were sailors. They’d sing it to me when I was little as a lullaby.”

The sound of hooves echoed as she looked to see Wu-Kong and the Englishmen riding together as they drew Cerberus away, it was astonishing that strangers would protect others. It was different to the world she knew.

Larisa Saphet

Larisa was, in a phrase, freaking out. Being shoved into a situation that she knew next to nothing about was nerve-wracking enough; having to endure it with strangers was about as bad as it could get. Gulping, her breathing had just begun to calm down a tiny bit when someone appeared. He seemed gentlemanly, and so Larisa felt herself ease just a little. Offering her the strange liquid, though, made her recoil. That color could not have been good. Finally, though, he did leave with the weird elixir and left her to herself. Her breath did calm a little, and she began to come to terms with the fact that she was gone from home. She pushed all the questions from her mind temporarily; she didn't want to know how she got here, she didn't want to know who these people were...

She just needed to calm down. The dog began running, music was playing, and the tremors her body produced died down. This was fine... Then, she felt touch, and flinched away slightly until she noticed the person was normal. She blinked, and then could only nod at Jace. She felt cotton in her throat, but she was still thankful for the support the boy tried giving. Alright... He was dealing with this... She could too, right...?

Her face softened at this thought, and now she just sat still and watched the situation. Take it all in one thing at a time... Giant dog, going off somewhere. There were people all around, all different from what she was used to. Some people were like her. This wasn't... that bad... She wasn't in immediate danger, that was good. Taking a deep breath once more, she closed her eyes and just let her heart settle. She'd have to thank that one guy later, for helping calm her down... She would want an explanation eventually, though...

Hyde.jpg

Hyde bounced along on the back of the horse with his toes nearly diging into the poor creatures hide. But it ws the only stability he had, he needed his arms free to continue the illusion of the giant pastry. Which, creating an illusion of such size and complexity while bouncing on a horse was already taxing in and of itself. But still Hyde continued to hold the illusion, all while smiling through his sharpened teeth at the beastie behind him.

When he saw what looked like a large white piece of the pillar snake its way across the grass towards the dog, Hyde got a little nervous. Should the pooch deside to go after the attacker, they might loose their shot at putting it to sleep. So Hyde had to, sweeten the pot, as it were.
"OY!! You there ye big mangey mutt! I think I'll just eat this pastry by myself, waaaaaaay over here. Unless you can come and get it ye great big WANKER!!"
Hyde raised his hand high over his head so the illusion was now floating above them and Cerberus could see the pair ridding away with the pastry.

Cerberus bellowed, eager now that the distance was closing. He didn't see the length of stone slip under his paws before it was too late. His legs tangled, his mouths opened wide in great yelps of surprise. Hyde took the chance, he lobbed the sleep-potion mochi straight into the center mouth.
The three-headed dog hit the earth with a crash. He sat up, but only for a moment, licking his lips. Suddenly his heads began to sway and before long they fell to the grass before his paws, heavy snores echoing around him.

"Your grandparents were sailors? That's pretty cool." The sudden crash of the beast made him jump. he looked around to see Cerberus asleep, and the ones who had done it no worse for wear. He relaxed visibly. The threat was gone.
"I...I think we're safe now, come on, let's find out where the heck we are."
Jace led the way for the two girls, up the hill to where the strange white-haired guy..Yo-lai, was speaking to the other normal person and the two not-so-normal ones.
"Did you just...move stone with your mind?" He had seen Azovka focus on the pillar, seen it move, and after watching a giant three-headed dog tear around the hill, it wasn't a big leap.
Yo-lai let out a breath as Cerberus fell.
"Oh my. I am glad that's over with!" He surveyed the collection of humans that had gathered. Despite the chaos of the evening, none seemed injured at all.
"I will be happy to answer all your questions, but we shouldn't stay here. Even though Cerberus is asleep, I've no idea how long he'll stay that way."
Jace took another look at the sleeping dog. Cerberus' legs twitched slightly, but otherwise he was still.
"Uh, yeah...dude I have sooo many questions."
Yo-lai turned to answer's Ashley's question first, for the benefit of them all. "There is a town at the base of the hill, just by the beach. We can gather ourselves there, eat, rest and get our new human companions up to speed."

It was at that very moment a figure came galloping up the hill. He carried a bow in one hand and a quiver on his back. From the waist up he looked like a fairly normal man, graying hair set in short waves on his head and a bushy beard on a square jaw. From the waist down...he was a horse. A white-coated animal with hooves and rippling muscle. Jace had to do a double take.
"We heard the noise of a battle. I came to see if you needed help." His eyes drifted past them to the sleeping mountain of fur.
"Hades!" The centaur swore. "Cerberus? Here?"
Apparently giant, three-headed dogs were not native to the area, Jace stored that info away.

Hyde.jpg

As soon as the pastry had made it to Cerberus' mouth Hyde was leaping off of the horse with the monkey man. He was confident in Jekyll's potions, after all, the did make him. When the dog hit the ground snoozing, Hyde was a only a few feet from him with his hands in his pockets watching and grinning.
"Point one for Hyde."
Hyde could feel the eye roll from Jekyll in the back of his mind.
Not to split hairs here, but it was my potion that took him out.
Hyde's smirk widdened as he began walking towards Cerberus.
"Yea, but you're not here to take the credit. Are you?"

Hyde placed a bare foot on the sleeping dogs jowl giving it a little nudge. Beastie was out cold and so Hyde turned back towards the road where he could see the group. They all seemed to be huddling up around Yo-Lai, which gave Hyde an idea. Remembering that Yo-Lai had said something about getting something out of the temple before he ran off to play with the dog, Hyde made his way around the back of the sleeping pooch and headed for the temple. Hyde scampered off, ducking behind the colmn that tripped Cerberus and then into the temple itself. His feet met cold smooth marble making a small slapping noise that echoed within the temple.
Hyde? What are you doing? We should regroup with the others.
Hyde simply ignored him, as a column in the middle of the room had caught his eye. It was about waist high and was a bit more decoratively carved than the others that hed the roof up. A single beam of light from a hole in the ceiling gave a spot light for what lay atop the column, which Hyde reached out and plucked to examine. It was a paint brush with a small brass key tided to it.

Hyde raised an eyebrow to the items and scoffed.
"THIS, is what we risked my life for? Doubt the brush is worth anything, but the key might unlock a chest of some sort. Maybe something in that?"
Hyde grasped the key and ripped it from the brush, pocketing it in the breast pocket of his shirt.
Hyde! Yo-Lai was comming to get that. You need to give it to him!
Hyde sneered
"Oh, piss off Jekyll. I'll give him the brush, and the Key! Just as soon as I find out what it unlocks."
Ignoring the angered protests within his mind from Jekyll, Hyde stepped outside the temple twirling the brush around in his hand as if it were a stick. He arrived at the group, barely paying attention to their conversation as he gave the brush a flipp into the air toward Yo-Lai.
"Heads up! Found your thing in the temple. No need to thank me, but I do receive payments upon delivery."
Hyde returned to where he had dropped Jekyll's bag off before the chase, and returned it over his shoulder holding it by the strap.

As Wu Kong urged his horse onward, he soon felt a jolt of added weight, glancing back to see a stranger had joined him. Instinctively, Wu Kong began to swing his staff at the stranger. Such an action normally meant Wu Kong was under attack. He quickly realized this stranger was an ally, though, as they seemed to transform into a massive treat and Cerberus charged after them. No need to thwack the guy with his staff then.

Returning his focus to leading his horse towards the beach, Wu Kong heard a yelp behind them and pulled back on his horse's reins while the stranger leapt off. Turning his horse around, Wu Kong let out a sigh of relief at the sight of the massive dog sleeping. That could've become really dangerous for his horse had Cerberus caught up to them.

Staying on his horse, Wu Kong returned to the group, though he gave the stranger an odd look. He seemed faintly familiar, but Wu Kong couldn't place him. Weird.

Hearing Yo-Lai mention the town nearby, Wu Kong flashed a warm smile and said, "If anyone wishes to accompany me to the town, I have room for one more up here. I believe quite a few of you may be exhausted from your recent experience." After saying this, he extended one of his hands out for anyone to grab.

Liras smile didn’t fade as she spoke to the boy, it kept her calm and comforted she wasn’t alone in all this. When the third of Cerberus falling finally reached her, she couldn’t help but feel a little sorry for it. It was obviously defending itself or something else, she doubted anyone would really enjoy being put to sleep and going to bed angry never did her any good let alone a dog.

Shrugging it off, a nod came when the suggestions of grouping with the others and the strangers came. Slowly her feet began to move towards them before she stood in her tracks looking to them. Being told they’d have to wait for their questions to be answered was disappointing to say the least, but it was to be. As what looked like a ravaged man approached, Lira couldn’t help but stare. He was wearing similar clothes as the English gentlemen was earlier, had something happened without anyone noticing?

Keeping quiet Lira sat in her own mind for a while trying to take everything in before another new comer arrived, except this time a half horse, half man. What next..
Keepimg eraelf togetger she stood listening and taking in all the information before Wu-Kong turned up. He’d been the first to greet her in a way and she was almost glad to see him. As he offered a ride she jumped at the chance. “Yes please!” Not even hesitating she took his hand softly and hopped onto the back of the equine with him. “Thanks.” It was blunt but she generally was thankful for the kindness he had shown.

Kiara swallowed, trying to breathe slowly, and deeply. It worked a bit, helping her to keep her head. “Right… Okay. Not the time for questions.” She muttered, glancing over to see Cerberus down. “Can you please do what you have to do quickly? I really Don’t know how long I can keep this up.”

She kept trying to hold it together. She managed with the centaur, since he doesn’t seem to be overtly threatening. But she didn’t hear Hyde coming, and as such, his call to Yo-Lai prompted her to jump back with a small cry of fear. And then she felt one of her already fear weakened knees give out, and she cussed, falling flat on her back.

She just stared up at the sky for a moment. The universe just did not like her today. Also her pajamas were ruined. Also she’d been wearing pajamas this entire time, and probably looked like an absolute moron to everyone here. She groaned, lifting an arm to see the white leopard print, fluffy material, now torn a bit from her battle with the wall. She dropped it, letting out a long breath.

“…Great.”

With no immediate danger, Ashley took the time to catch her breath. Yo-Lai did seem like a rather sweet boy as much as she didn't want to admit it. Not that romance was in her cards at the moment. Her bow still sheathed, she looked down briefly at her dagger as Yo-Lai answered her question before looking back up. "Running into a three-headed demon dog wasn't exactly what I had in mind for my day. Once we get into town, we can stay at the Inn closest to the beach. A peaceful view can help us all relax. Seems like many of the newcomers have had enough for one day." She commented, looking around at everyone else around them within their company.

When another man carrying a bow arrived, Ashley allowed Yo-Lai to do most of the talking since that was something she wasn't very good at despite having improved over the past few months. Still, it needed work. When Wu-Kong mentioned he'd like someone to accompany him into town, Ashley looked around, not wanting to leave anyone behind. Of course, one of the newcomers took up his offer before she really had the chance to say anything. Shrugging, she then walked over to the young woman laying on the ground. Her Motherly instincts would then take hold and Ashley would sit down next to her, adjusting her headpiece as she did so. "I know today's been a bit...overwhelming, but are you alright?" She asked, genuinely concerned.

Kiara looked up at Ashley, still flat on the ground after dropping her arm back down. “Overwhelming… Yeah, that’s a word that describes today pretty well.” She muttered, letting out a long sigh. “I… I don’t know where I am, or how I got here.” She closed her eyes. “I just need to understand what’s going on.”

She sat up slowly, feeling tired and overwhelmed. “So, who are you?” She asked, looking over at Ashley. “I’m Kiara. I just… woke up in there.”

Among the rubble of the ruined temple the the hell hound Cerberus guarded would be a partially revealed hidden compartment very near where the brush was found. If one were to move the rubble and open the container within they would find an ornate silver lamp. If one was magically inclined one would sense a very faint magical energy leaking from the lamp.
The inside of Dantalion's lamp was ever changing on the whims of the Djinn. With his power being bound to the lamp he could use it freely and did so to change it from just the inside of a lamp into a massive library with multiple floors. The top floor is where he kept his knowledge of the Celestial: Stars, planets, the universe. Anything pertaining to space was found here. Traveling down a floor one would find All of his knowledge of Nature and the Earth. From Biology to how the islands floated in the sky. At the lowest level is where Dantalion kept his most prized texts, the books on magic both known and forgotten, Forbidden or otherwise. At the beginning of his quest for knowledge Dantalion had told himself that he took those books as a means of protecting the fragile younger races from power they didn’t understand or couldn’t control. However he had met resistance and misunderstandings were formed in the minds of both Dantalion and the people who sought to protect their knowledge. Soon news spread of the cruel Djinn who indiscriminately burned away anything that kept him from that knowledge, and at that point Dantalion was far more concerned with gathering the knowledge then clearing up the misunderstanding. As he went from city to city the resistance grew, from guards, to a militia comprised of citizens and military, until he ended up burning an entire town. From there it was all down hill until unknown to Dantalion the younger races banded together to stop him and bind him in his cage.

the first few hundred years there were many who sought his power and knowledge and with his help those who had the lamp enjoyed victories, though always at a price. Dantalion made sure that each time his power was used something would back fire for his master. This ‘price’ was Dantalion’s way of evening out the scales and atoning for his past mistakes. It didn’t take long for the rumors of the cursed lamp to circulate and he was eventually hidden away with other powerful artifacts. It was during this last thousand years or so that he had taken the opportunity to peruse his massive library of texts, which covered subjects from sorcery to astronomy, and it was during this time that Dantalion took to turning the black void that was the inside of the lamp into his library and home. His magic, bound and trapped inside the lamp, saturated his cell so much that with enough time and concentration he would change the void into whatever he wanted. This is what preoccupied him for over a thousand years. Bit by bit, shelf by shelf, bookcase by bookcase after many failings he had crafted his home, his pride and joy. So with his greatest achievement complete Dantalion did the only thing he could do and went into hibernation in hopes that someone would find his lamp and free him from his gilded cage.

Yo-lai seemed more than a little taken aback by the dark-haired and disheveled character. Even more upsetting to him was the fact that Hyde''s abrupt manner frightened one of the humans...again.
Jace offered to help Kiara up, shooting a disapproving glance at Hyde.
It was clear Yo-lai didn't recognize him at all. When Hyde held out the object of Yo-lai's earlier pursuits his eyes lit up, but immediately fell into a suspicious glare when this stranger asked for payment.
"Not to seem rude, but where's doctor Jekyll? That brush is an heirloom of my master. It was taken from his palace and I was tasked with getting it back...I..I don't have much to pay you with, but I would greatly appreciate it's return."
It was clear Yo-lai was not happy with this new persona and seemed at a loss as to what to do.
"Perhaps we can discuss this further once we're in the safety of the town."

Yo-lai found the reins of his horse and lead her over to where Wu Kong was preparing to go back to the small town. He was happy one of the humans, Lira, was beginning to cheer up.
"You'll be safe with Wu Kong." Then he looked around to the rest of the group.
"Yuki can carry two, for those who'd like to ride." He gestured to the docile, white mare.
The centaur gestured toward his back. "I can carry two more. Preparations at the village are underway, we'll have food and beds for all of you."
Yo-lai smiled up at him gratefully. "Thank you Chiron, we are in your debt."
"Wait," Jace blinked in surprise as recognition dawned on his face, "Chiron? Like, the centaur that trained Hercules?"
Chiron nodded. "The same."
Jace's head reeled. Not only was he standing next to an actual centaur, but this one, in particular was something straight out of a story book.
"Holy cow..."

Yo-lai led the way for the small party, guiding Yuki on a lead rein and trying his best to explain their situation as they walked.
"I'm afraid you've been taken quite far from the world you know. You're in a place called FableWood. As for what magics brought you here, or how to send you back, I'm afraid that for now it's beyond our understanding, but don't worry! Humans coming to FableWood has happened before. They went home and I'm sure with a little effort, we will find a way to send you back as well. For now however, you must listen to what I am about to say, because I'm afraid your survival in this world depends on it:

Every story you've been told, every myth, every fable was given life when it was first spoken. The stories gave this world form, and the heroes and villains of each tale were given life here. This is a place of magic, and wonder, but it is also a place of great danger. As humans from the real world you are exceptional here. Because it was your kind that gave this world life, you have the power to bend elements of it to your will. In effect, you are the most powerful beings in FableWood."
Jace snorted, he certainly didn't feel powerful.
"It's true!" Yo-lai pressed, "Given time you will develop your gifts, but until then, you have my solemn oath that you will be protected."

As they walked Yo-lai explained their predicament: he told them of the tricksters, how they had vanished, of the darkness that was beginning to swarm over the land, the strange creatures and the blood-red moon. Even though the sky was still light, the sun only just hidden behind the vast ocean Jace could see the moon in the sky, and the red stain spreading across it's pearl-white surface.
"Our world is under siege from some great chaos. It is imperative we discover the cause and put a stop to it."

Ashley frowned as the girl spoke. Then Yo-lai started telling the newcomers about where they were and about Fablewood. Of course, he put it way better then she ever could. Spoken like a true leader, she thought. Hopefully in no time, they would adjust. At least before they go take on those Tricksters that she's heard so much about. When asked about who she was, Ashley only smiled. "My name's Ashley, I'm a Member of the Prince's Guard in the Kingdom of Aerios. But the Prince has sent me on another mission. I'm also a Mother, I have a little girl named Lillian. Maybe if we visit Aerios, you can meet her. Anyway...I didn't mean to ramble like that, you must be really tired. I can carry you until we get to a nearby inn."

She then offered the young woman her arm. If she accepted, then Ashley would take her into a piggy-back ride. If not, she would at least help Kiara to her feet and stay close by to protect her.

Mistress of the Mountain
“I’m sorry, but can one of you please tell me where I am? What was that thing, what’s happening, why am I here?”
The strange window girl rambled on with questions, and though she also wanted answers, her sharp eyes stayed on the beast as its feet caught her trap and one of its mouths caught a treat. It seemed that the treat had been laced by a sleeping potion of sorts as the hound fell into a heavy slumber.
Now, she could get her answers, but it seemed the white haired boy was brushing them off.
“I will be happy to answer all your questions, but we shouldn’t stay here. Even though Cerberus is asleep, I’ve no idea how long he’ll stay that way.”
Azovka’s eyes narrowed, her fingers sinking into the wall. It trembled with the annoyance she felt. She took a deep breath to calm herself. They had gotten what they had wanted from the temple and were making plans to leave. She was going to accompany them.
The stone woman began to push off the wall, her fingers beginning to come free, but she stopped. She could feel something. She closed her eyes, feeling a power roll through the stone. There was something else inside.
Her green eyes snapped open and she stepped through the stone wall as easily as if were liquid. A single column stood in the middle of the room, illuminated by a hole in the roof. Obviously, something important had laid on top of it before, but that wasn’t what she had felt.
Azovka moved slowly to a pile of rubble and crouched down next to it. She placed a hand on the floor and the rubble rolled away to reveal some sort of container. There was silver inside. She could feel it. But, it wasn’t ordinary metal. It was definitely bewitched in some way or another. She considered burying the container again. What if it was dangerous? Then again, how dangerous could silver be to someone who can control it?
A small hand reached forward and opened the container to find something she had never seen before. It was definitely well crafted, but she didn’t know what it was supposed to be shaped like. A teapot?
Carefully, she lifted it to examine closely. She appreciated the fine detail work, the gorgeous etchings that almost told a story. It was beautiful. And, when she had her answers and her people were safe, she would produce her own.
Azovka stood, cradling the lamp close, and melted into the floor before appearing outside again on the temple’s stone steps. She didn’t think anyone even realized she had gone; too busy gearing up to go to a nearby town. The yellow man offered a ride on his horse, but she ignored it. There was not a horse alive that could hold her in this form and they didn’t much like her other one.
She looked around for her ward, but found her on the ground, a woman sitting next to her. She bit her lip, but turned away to move toward the white man that seemed to know what was going on. It looked as though the girl needed someone to talk to, someone to be sympathetic. Azovka wasn’t really that someone.
With a soft sad sigh, she looked down at her new silver ornament and gently brushed her thumb across the etched face of the fire wielding antagonist.
