Exalted Third Edition

Same... I want to try it as written.
It just seems that they nearly completely eliminated minmaxing in this edition. -Everyone- is powerful, and the systems seem much more rp driven than mechanics driven than ever before, so, heavy mechanics changing two days after release are making me raise an eyebrow.

So, read through the thread and so far:

Vinom - Dawn

JayTee - Twillight

Bardlebee - Eclipse

Esbilon - ???

FeMChara - One post, interest unknown

Random Word - Interested, but willing to wait

==================

Changed my mind, gonna go with Night Caste in this game as it looks like neither of my Zenith Concepts would work here, plus, there's something I always wanted to try.

I'm interested in any Direction, with a preference to the South.

Basically, the starting point of my Night Caste Solar:

He's based off of Cassim from Magi.

The final tables for weapons and armor are posted. To summarize the changes (in general this may not be all encompassing):

  • Light weapons have 1 less damage, Heavy have 1 more damage in general (additional tweaks were thrown in to accentuate contrast between weapon sizes)
  • Mobility penalties are removed from artifacts (The trade off for mundane armor is mobility penalty in exchange for soak)
  • Attunement costs reduced for all weapons and light armor, attunement cost was increased slight for Heavy Armor (trade off for artifact armor is attunement for soak)

Honestly I'd prefer to keep things as close to "as written" as possible, at least for the learning phase.

I mean, I'm not going to make an issue over it, but it's something I'd like.

If there ends up being a spot, my favourite is always Zenith. Concept would depend on the direction, but if it's south there are lots of fun options. Priestess of Ahlat, Delzahn Revolutionary (Throw off the yoke of the Realm), Paragon Pop Star, etc etc.

Haha, thinking about it, Paragon Pop Princess sounds pretty fun. She'd be completely incapable of even conceiving of crime, whether as a means of solving a problem or as something someone might do to her. She would probably never have told a lie of consequence in her entire life, let alone to an authority figure. She thinks crime is a strange, exciting, barbaric foreign cultural practice, voyeuristically thrilled by it in the same sense that a Dynast might enjoy blood sports in Chiaroscuro. She's on a Civ style culture bombing concert tour as a good will ambassador espousing the virtues of her homeland, and genuinely believes that everyone would be happier if they would just stop fighting and lead peaceful, law abiding lives. She's a walking opiate of the masses, and both ridiculously easy to manipulate and completely unyielding in her principles.

Maybe Crane Style for self defence and subduing criminals.

I might use her somewhere else if another Southern 3e game comes up.

Oh? What does that entail?
Also, what's everyone else playing? Twilight's usually my first port of call then Zenith, Night, Dawn, and Eclipse.
Was shooting for Eclipse, but I am open to fall into any gaps.

I'd love to play in the North, I have a fondness for the Haslanti League, but have never had an opportunity to play there. I also enjoy the idea of Exalting on the Blessed Isle and then running like hell for my life. The Dreaming Sea is an awesome new locale, and seeing what you'd do with it would be very interesting.

I do not have any vetos.

I'm leaning either East or North, personally. As for characters, I'm thinking about Supernal survival Zenith, who is a sort of beastmaster/nature priest.

Haven't played in the North yet, but at the same time, exploring the Threshold and the intrigue that would follow for being close to the doorstep of the Blessed Isle would be pretty fun.

It would require more subtlety then my character concept is capable of...

So I'm looking at either the mountainous region along the northern coast of the dreaming sea, west of Volivat. The alternative is Whitewall.

Mmm, I'm really more for the southern shore of the Dreaming Sea, so of those two, I'd go for Whitewall.

I am intentionally trying to steer clear of the Prasad controlled territory as I do not want the game I'm currently in to influence this one. That and it dilutes my interest to be doing two games in nearly identical scenarios.

After seeing the last 2-3 games I played here die off, I'd rather not run a game with any demotivaters that I could have avoided.

Well, at least the combat system won't kill this one. *cough*.

I'm already in a 3e Whitewall game, so if my vote counts I vote for not that. If North does win, I vote Haslanti League. I wouldn't mind the South or the north coast of the Dreaming Sea. I also have another game on the south coast of the Dreaming Sea, and while there's considerably more established setting that doesn't mean Rykon can't come up with awesome stuff to make the north coast fun.

I'm for the North Coast of the Dreaming Sea. Prolly gonna have to redo my character concept, but eh, worse things have happened.

I'm going for a Dawn Caste Martial Arts Supernal Sing Point Shining Into the Void Stylist. Background will depend on where we start.
