[Exalted: Planet Earth] The Creation-Spanning Weave

@Lord-Leafar That charm is a pretty neat solution, but also seems a bit too cheap, Level 3 rituals can do things like scry, create 1 dot artifacts and summon second circle demons. I think we'll keep the rules as they are, but slash the price of degrees in half, how does that sound? Also, xp spent on Procedures can be cannibalized to buy a degree. So if you know 3 procedures in a degree, the degree costs 3 xp less.

There are rules for assault rifles in Shards of the Exalted Dream. And he's a big boy with lots of soak, he can take it.

Wow, I hadn't realized how puny firearms' statlines are. Particularly surprised that they have no Speed advantage over bows and that their Accuracy is so puny.

As someone on the receiving end of them (and who generally prefers beating people up to shoot them regardless) I am not disappointed in guns' weakness at all!

Though blasters get it even worse.

What about training times? 1 week for Initiate, 2 weeks for Adept and 3 weeks for Master seem a bit too long, not even an Essence 10, charm takes that long to learn compared to and Adept or Master degree.

I'm just concerned that all experience I invest on Thaumaturgy (which can be substantial) will be rendered useless once I learn Sorcery or some other charms that can accomplish similar and/or better effects. That's 12 exp to master a single Art of Thaumaturgy, which can be trumped by any kind of countermagic.

A fair point on the training times, but I can't make it any cheaper xp-wise. They're specialties with extra stuff, 4 xp is the least possible.

Let's say the training times for an Exalt are 2 days, 4 days and one week respectively.

Are you following the Errata part that says Exalted can't lower the resources cost of a ritual with Essence?

But you still need actual ingredients. You can't spin drugs or bombs out of thin air, but you don't need a lot of wasted materials.

Also, using Essence makes the process Obvious.

In that case, I will learn the following procedures to accomplish a list of goals for the next week in game, let me know if it's doable and what changes are needed if any, or any suggestions you might think of. In total I'll have 3 exp in debt, and it should take me 3 days to learn all of this:

1 Alchemy Procedure: "Heissenberg's Blue Stuff"

[1 day to learn, 1 hour aprox. to produce, 1 exp] / Create a brand new drug, highly addictive with mild positive benefits, other than it feels really good. Basically, this shit is the bomb of drugs, maybe something with mechanics like a Sweet cordial.

1 Alchemy Procedure: Heavenly Transmutation Processes: Diamond

[1 day to learn, 1 hour to produce per Resources 4, 1 exp] / Make Diamonds to get easy money, and/or use them for materials like diamond point bullets, etc.

1 Enchantment Procedure: [Least Wonder: Guns]

[1 day to learn, 50 hours, 1 exp] / Upgrade existing guns to exceptional ones for Katarina's goons.

I also want to improve their ammo, making them armor piercing, but I reckon that could be either done with mundane craft or it could fall in the same category of the Enchantment procedure, what do you think?

You're the hauntingly dark and tragic Abyssal. He's the kick asses first and ask questions later Lunar. Makes perfect sense.

He's the Lunar who's going to get SWAT teams and Apache gunships and Hellfire missiles up our collective ass if he doesn't cut it out.

Because clearly you're making a very compelling case for the government adopting a "live and let live" attitude toward people who glow in the dark ;)

Blows being the operative word.

I'm sorry about my tardiness in replying, I'll get to it tonight, promise.

Well, I seem to have a choice at this point; play calm and disappear later, try and talk my way out, or make it a brawl. First instinct is for number three, but number one has the best authority-trolling opportunities. Two could segue into either of the others, I suppose...

I seem to get the impression my fellow players would frown on option three?

Yeah, sorry. I've been bedridden and not up to the task of moving things I needt o think about forward. Will hopefully be moving thing forward tomorrow.

Don't worry about it, real life takes priority

Edit: sorry for not being arpund much lately, school was kicking my butt but break is almost here. Anyway the party might have another chance to meet up if we mess with Wall Street, or one of us decides to break the real Tom out of jail
