◤FRACTURE Gi has to touch her opponent, but when she does, she can imbue them with a singular weakness that she can exploit. At level 1, this weakness has to be physical and cannot be anything they are immune to.ˣ​

◤POOF! Token Teleporation: Beads off of a bracelet that, when broken, allows instantaneous teleportation that the wearer can see.ˣ After a few seconds in that area, they can teleport back to where one of the beads has landed.ˣ​

◤DENTES ENSIS: Macuahuitl with Vis Obsidian A traditional Incan weapon given a modern makeover. It is made of blunted titanium metal with vis-powered obsidian chunks inlaid on the sides. Gi likes to use the flat side like a bat and can use it with a concussive force. ˣ She can use the sides of the weapon like an axe, but instead of cleaving cleanly, it is made to tear up flesh and muscle. It isn't fatal, but it is painful.ˣ​

PERSONALITY:

ENTRANCE EXAM: Nepotism - Gi was not born within the pantheon. Instead, her aspect awakened with a concussive force inside of Ju-V, and when the Theurgy went to investigate, they found the rumors of the girl causing walls to collapse and beating other inmates to a pulp to be an awakened aspect and heavy vis use. They captured and detained her, with the full intent to dispose of her or ship her off to one of their compounds off of Gran Vesta. After a bit of digging to find out where she could have gotten such a power, they found one of her great-x4-grandfathers was a prominent exorcist who was known to have had a secret family that they were never able to track. In honoring his legacy, as his known descendants had all perished, she was allowed into Bellum Academy with a stern set of rules she had to follow.

TIMELINE:

◤ BIRTH 2008-2012: Gi Faust was born to ███ ██████ and Otis Faust. Her mother was out of the picture almost immediately. Her father raised her by himself.
◤ CHILDHOOD 2012-2018: Otis was a good dad, all things considered. Unfortunately, he had been diagnosed with throat cancer in 2006, and it came back with a vengeance in 2016. He passed in 2018. Gi was then given up Otis's parents, who didn't care about her. Up until then, she had been a phenomenal student, and this was when her behavioral problems started.
◤ EARLY TEEN 2018-2020: She started school in another part of Gran Vesta, and immediately, she had a target on her back as big as the moon. She spent her first few months getting the shit beaten out of her. One day, she decided to turn the tables back on them and was successful. She became a bit of a Queen Bee in school.
◤ TEEN 2020-2024: Gi unfortunately hit the wrong kid at the wrong time despite them constantly torturing her. It was the last straw for the school, and she ended up in Gran Vesta Juvenile Detention Center. There, she couldn't make anyone's life a living hell, but the target was painted on her back as big as ever. Unfortunately, she was a small fish in a big pond now and got the shit beaten out of her... nearly to death.
◤ UP TO PRESENT 2024-2025: One day, it became too much, and Gi seemed to be having a breakdown, but in truth, her aspect was awakening. After years of abuse, she'd finally consumed enough umbra to jump-start it. She ended up destroying her tormentors and a wing at the detention center. She was picked up by the Theurgy and then dropped off the Bellum Academy.​

◤TASSE RENVERSEE Token Barrier: By placing random objects he has imbued with this tradition around an area, he can effectively create a barrier where no damage that happens inside of it bleeds into the outside world.ˣ And as long as these objects aren't disturbed, everything within it reverts to how it was before when the barrier is lowered. ˣ​

WEAPON: ▮▮▮▮▯

◤TENTH RING: Nine Ring Broad Sword A variation of the Chinese dao sword, this sword is huge and made for slashing and chopping. It looks unassuming out of many of the weapons, but only because it is one of the oldest weapons in the pantheon's vaults. Cal can use it as it ended, mainly as a large, offensive weapon specializing in cleaving.ˣ In tandem with his "False Equivalence" ability, he removes limbs right at their joints for easy disassembling.ˣ With his "Phase Shift" ability, he can lodge the weapon into the body of an enemy and cleave up or down, bisecting them. ˣ But most terrifyingly, he can push his vis into the weapon, activating the rings on top to make nine copies of the weapon. ˣ He has to touch the original weapon to activate it, but once he does that and the copy is made, he can let it go. The copied weapons only have half the durability of the original weapon, and when they break, they return as a ring on the original weapon.​

PERSONALITY:

GRADUATION EVALUATION: "Gagnon" means "guard dogs," which is exactly what they are trained to be for the Lavoie family. Despite his contradictory nature, believed to be a mask for a shitty personality, he's a talented fighter. It's probably because he was trained not to care if he lives or dies in a fight, just to win. His need to complete whatever task is put before him made him an exceptional student. More so, it is noted in his file that the arrangement of his abilities makes him more formidable against other divine than they do against angels/demons. Which is a rare, dare we say, heretical way to be trained.

TIMELINE:

◤ BIRTH 1986-1989: He was born and lived a few years in Gran Vesta, before his parents moved to New York after a falling out with the Lavoies.
◤ CHILDHOOD 1989-1998: Cal grew up in New York without much, if any, contact with other divine. It wasn't until his aspect awoke in his own home when his parents were having one of their "we're not arguing, sweetheart. We just love each other" arguments." His parents, realizing they had to perform an angelic pact so Cal could get a handle on his vis, traveled back to Gran Vesta in 1998.
◤ EARLY TEEN 1998-2002: After getting his angelic pact sorted, his parents tried to leave Gran Vesta without letting anyone know. They unfortunately passed away on their drive back over the bridge connecting the island back to the US. Cal was then adopted by the Lavoies and was raised for the next 4 years under intense exorcist training before being shipped off to the Bellum Academy.
◤ TEEN 2002-2005: He attended the Bellum Academy, and things returned to semi-normal as he was able to experience the things that normal teenagers did at that moment. Also, he was far from the only teen there with a problematic past. He participated in the Night of a 1000 Demons and was believed to be the last one to see Aden Kardos. He, with the other Saints, graduated with top honors.
◤ NEW ADULT 2005-2009: While Cal still participated in exorcist activities, he went to Law School during this time to get his Law Degree with a specialty in Property Law. The Lavoies had offered him a partner in a firm they had in their arts district. It was plenty of money without much stress. All he had to do was perform occasional tasks for them along with his exorcist duties. He accepted, as he really had no choice.
◤ ADULT 2009-2020: During that time, Cal settled into his position as partner, got married, had a kid, and then got divorced. Much like a popular Disney movie, it was the "Circle of Life" in his circles. It is hard to say what the latter happened, but it is very well known that he is a workaholic in all aspects of his life. It was probably through negligence. Though he's known to be an over-the-top romantic when he wants to be. It was probably not for the lack of love but for the lack of time.
◤ UP TO PRESENT 2020-2025: Cal's attempt to take a step away from his job as an exorcist was thwarted as the Lavoie Family sent him on more and more missions. It wasn't for family gain, either, but instead the rumors of the rise of the Order of Cain. And who better to look into it than an exorcist with divine-killing powers?​

RELATIONSHIPS:

  ◤Corvus: A Scythe How can such a girl of her stature and demeanor wield a scary scythe? Well, it isn't easy, and she trips up sometimes. Her arms tremble as she holds it, but when Mischa is in the zone, she does unexpectedly well. The scythe is a generational family weapon, charged with negative energy until it ended up in her hands. There is a disconnect with the scythe at times, but she can deliver powerful slices and slashes to an opponent.​

  ENTRANCE EXAM: It was a little bit of nepotism and a little bit of proving herself. Her grandfather and great uncle (the Fyodorov Brothers) were once formidable independent exorcists in the 50s-60s before they disappeared off the map, somewhere in Russia. Yet they made good friends with one man who would go on to become a professor at Bellum Academy. Vienna was a large city with many demons, of which Mischa's sealing exploits caught the France Tower's attention. When the Theurgy approached the family, Mischa was not immediately recognized as the granddaughter of Fyodorov. Once said professor caught wind of it, she was vouched for and soon admitted into the Academy.
  
  TIMELINE:
  

  ◤ BIRTH 2009-2011: Her very Russian mother, who at that point did not know a life of exorcism or divination (it had been sealed away by her father), settled down with a very Austrian man in Vienna. They were not well-off, but they were happy. Her father was a restaurant pianist, and her mother was a waitress at said restaurant. Mischa was a happy baby and named after a pianist they both admired: Mischa Levitzki.​

  ◤ CHILDHOOD 2011-2019: Her household was contented growing up. The family attended a Russian Orthodox church, and her grandfather and his twin brother would visit a few times a year during their "travels" (of which they were taciturn about). They realized Mischa began to see demons and angels all around Vienna. Rather than sealing her divinity away, they instead trained her. They kept their activities elusive. Back then, when they had completely disappeared, it was rumored they started following the Order of Cain. A few from the Pantheon tried to investigate, but nothing came of it. Unbeknownst to her parents, with no grasp of the divine, Mischa was taken into a world she was unprepared for.​

  ◤ EARLY TEEN 2019-2022: Both her great uncle and grandfather funneled their vision into Mischa to awaken her aspect -- in tandem, an angelic contract was made. With the amount of expertise they had, it did not take long for her. At that point, nothing traumatic happened either. They were good teachers and always had a handle on even the largest of demons. At that point, she had just been able to carry Corvus, the scythe they passed down to her. Any guilt she had of hiding it from her parents had been quickly hushed by her Russian side of the family: You want to protect them from demons, don't you? This, you must do.​

  ◤ TEEN 2022-2024: Her exploits of sealing demons in Vienna had been noticed by the Theurgy. Once her mentors' names, the Fyodorov Brothers, were noticed as well, it was a guaranteed admission into Bellum. In fact, insisted upon, as Bellum wished to disprove (or otherwise) the Fyodorov Brothers were followers of the Order of Cain. A previous cold case had just opened up. A certain professor who used to be friends with the Brothers, too, vouched for Mischa's admission. But what would they tell her parents? Well, that she was simply studying abroad in America. It pained her parents, but they were slowly and surely convinced by the brothers.​

  ◤ UP TO PRESENT 2024-2025: With a tearful goodbye to her parents and friends at home, she made her way to America. Her grandfather and great-uncle instilled confidence into her, and she is somewhat brainwashed into believing life as an exorcist is the best. She is not anticipating the sacrifice or traumatic things she may see. Or the basket of bad eggs she might encounter.   ◤REMOTE VIEWING Within a 3,000-mile radius in all cardinal directions, Hanzo can view whatever he pleases so long as he has a face and a name. His physical body goes completely slack, and he is incapacitated until he is done. He can only see and not hear a conversation. If he adds more vis, he can stretch the radius, but this will usually leave him unconscious for longer. This is generally used for the family. *​

  ◤KILLSHOT In a last-ditch effort, Hanzo's body becomes filled with energy, and it flows into his guns. With deadly accuracy, in any direction or spot he wills it (visually locks in on), a burst of lethal energy will release, concentrated into one shot. He must push his revolvers side-by-side and pull the trigger at the exact same time. This is normally the final blow or used to weaken an enemy in their critical areas.​

  ◤Mutare Blood Transmutation: By drawing blood (Hanzo normally bites his knuckles or his lip), Hanzo can transform one inanimate object into another. He normally does this for defensive purposes or to climb great heights to get a critical shot (ex. transforming small objects into buildings to climb). Also, he transforms objects often into bullets for his guns. He is capable of much more, but this, he keeps under lock and key. For legal reasons.​

  ◤Geminos Mortem: Twin Revolvers The revolvers hold six bullets each, so twelve bullets in total. He is incredibly careful with his timing, as he does not wish to waste bullets. Normally in a fight, he is conservative with bullets, as they are prepared and created ahead of time with his transmutation technique. In a dire situation, it is possible for him to create bullets quickly, but they will not have the same effect on a target as they do when he takes time and energy crafting them. The bullets are imbued with his vis.​

  GRADUATION EVALUATION: He was a representative for the Muto family, yet his obedience and attention to detail defied all expectations. If a question was asked in class (a logic-based one), Hanzo knew it. Not a single time during his academic career did Hanzo stray from his strict regimen. Studying, training, and being useful for the Muto family was of dire importance. Social niceties were discouraged, and no one found a light behind his ever-observant eyes. His need for secrecy was something that put a few on edge -- and some speculate he was not fully honest about his capabilities as an exorcist.
  
  TIMELINE:
  

  ◤ BIRTH 1987-1990: Hanzo's mother was a young, sickly thing from Japan betrothed to a much older man in the Muto family. Their spouses were selected for them, much to their chagrin, and Hanzo was born into a world of bitter resentment. Once his father had someone to mold into a weapon for the family, another way to secure the secrecy of their clan, he took Hanzo under his wing.​

  ◤ CHILDHOOD 1990-1999: Did you think it would be a repressive and strict childhood? No, not really, not outright. His father truly treated Hanzo with kindness with subtle manipulation tactics. He was a smart man, Hanzo's father, also the Tax Advisor for the Muto family. Only an entire family could put trust into someone with sound and dedicated character. While Hanzo was trained in many areas, the map of his life already laid out for him, he was also loved and encouraged by his father. He always looked behind his shoulder to see how his little mother was faring, but she was often in a dark room in bed. And Hanzo stayed away from her because of the stench.​

  ◤ EARLY TEEN 1999-2002: His life started to become more regimented. Little routines in his childhood were now second nature to him. He trained physically, without being told to do so like clockwork. His mother passed, and he did not really notice or care. At that point, he had been hardwired to believe she served her purpose for the family. He looked up to his father with love and adoration, and even as the training turned more intense, Hanzo flourished in it.​

  ◤ TEEN 2002-2005: A day before starting the Academy, it was late. Members of the family came to their home. Hanzo and his father were called. His father imparted his final words to his beloved son, and he was killed with a samurai sword by Hanzo's family members before his very eyes. The trauma was so great that his aspect came to the surface. As a well-trained dog, he started school the next day yet broke down crying many nights when he sat in his dark, empty home alone.​

  ◤ NEW ADULT 2005-2012: The Night of 1000 Demons proved to be a worthy pass for his graduation evaluation. At that point, he had already grappled well with his skills. He was a sharpened tool for the Muto family, and while a degree was not necessary, they required him to have a Master's in Finance while under the apprenticeship of their temporary tax advisor. He was not very good at forming relationships (platonic or romantic), though he did have feelings for a former classmate (of the same sex) he never acted on. The Muto family engaged Hanzo to a woman from Japan, and while he did not enjoy the marriage or the child's conception, he tried to be a good husband to her. When it was between who lived in a arduous labor, Hanzo and the family chose the baby. His child.​

  ◤ ADULT 2012-2022: Due to the constraints/secrecy/dedication to the family, he remained the Tax Advisor and had a few short-term flings. He is paranoid and thankful he does not sleep much, as he does not want the same thing to happen to his child that happened to him with his father. However, the family has not made much of a move to do so.​

  ◤ UP TO PRESENT 2022-2025: His life is split into two worlds: exorcism and taxes. And neither are avoidable unfortunately.​

  ENTRANCE EXAM: Proving - Despite growing up in a family that could have used their influence to guarantee Manuel’s acceptance into Bellum Academy, it was the tradition of the Alcantara family to earn their place. They were granted permission to host the trial under the supervision of the Academy, which placed Manuel against the odds with a number of demons that he needed to defeat. Despite extensive injuries and several close calls, he was recognized by the Academy and given the blessing of his family to attend.

  ◤ BIRTH 2008-2011: Born to Julio and Yvette Alcantara in Santo Domingo, Manuel would be set early on the path to becoming a divine, being exposed to vis and having a hefty amount of time spent learning.​

  ◤ CHILDHOOD 2011-2018: While Manuel was granted the carefree living that a child needed in their formative years, there was always the looming spectre of expectations and burdens brought upon him to become a powerful divine for the Alcantara family. With strict adherence to the norms of divine society, Manuel was not forcefully awakened, and instead received more harsh training to bring out the umbral vis that he had unwillingly promised his family.​

  ◤ EARLY TEEN 2018-2021: With the weight of expectations and disappointment from both his immediate and extended family, Manuel had hit his breaking point and unlocked his Aspect. Yet it was not the kind of power that was deemed beneficial to the Alcantara family.​

  ◤ TEEN 2021-2023: In order to boost his progress, he was effectively kicked out of his family home in Santo Domingo and forced to move to Gran Vesta, where he would be brought up by his aunt that served their patron family, the Ghanem. With their tutelage, his abilities would grow far beyond what the elders in his own family believed he was capable of.​

  ◤ UP TO PRESENT 2024-2025: With the sudden support from his family, and the desire to grow further and escape their chains, Manuel requests to attend Bellum Academy.   GRADUATION EVALUATION: Dante understood the risks that came with being a exorcist, and fully embraced them. The world of the divine was something that he had chosen to be apart of, and strives to make better. His academic performance was average amongst his peers, but his willingness to throw himself into danger without concern for himself made him a valuable asset. He would take on missions that others would decline, and make extensive efforts to recover and rescue any of his peers and other exorcists that were put into danger without regard for his behalf. Not to mention his Aspect and mastery of his personal weapon, made him an exceptional student. Dante was quickly passed without a second doubt, and scouted by multiple departments of the Pantheon.
  
  TIMELINE:
  

  ◤ BIRTH 1989-1992: Born in one of the poorer neighborhoods of Gran Vesta, there weren't many options for upward mobility. Rather than struggle to feed and raise him, Dante's parents left him at the local firehouse, where he was taken in and placed into a local orphanage.​

  ◤ CHILDHOOD 1992-1999: Growing up in an orphanage, Dante had dealt with many of the common struggles: bullying, malnourishment, and loneliness to name a few. But he still hoped to find a family that was willing to adopt him, one that would take care of him and give him the love he so desperately desired. As if an answer to his prayers had descended upon him, a well to do but infertile couple were looking to adopt, and took a liking to Dante. However, there were several older children who were much more desperate than he was. Driven by a twisted sense of anger and envy, they had lured Dante an abandoned park and beat him within an inch of his life. Miraculously, Dante survived, barely able to stand and literally holding himself together. The joy he had felt was extraordinary, and an angel had descended upon him. The angel took advantage of his desperation, and made a pact with the boy to save him, awakening his aspect.​

  ◤ EARLY TEEN 1999-2002: Even with his newfound ability, Dante was not fast enough to return to the orphanage and lost his golden opportunity. Instead of returning, he remained homeless and lived off the street in order to survive. Falling in with a bad crowd, he landed himself in Gran Vesta's Juvenile Detention Center for multiple counts of robbery and assault. Soon enough though, his aspect would get him noticed by the Theurgy.​

  ◤ TEEN 2002-2007: With no other prospects, he took the Theurgy's offer and joined Bellum Academy under strict supervision. There, he was able to come out of his shell, finally surrounded by people who understood what he was going through. With his peers, he participated in the Night of 1000 Demons and was specially recognized for his efforts to save as many exorcists as possible. He graduated with top honors alongside the other Saints.​

  ◤ NEW ADULT 2007-2012: Instead of taking a break or stepping away from the world of the divine like some other Saints did, Dante only further plunged himself into the Pantheon. He accepted as a position as a Junior Operative in the Defense Division, allowing him to further develop his abilities and serve the Pantheon, hoping to justify his continuing existence by saving the lives of others. He was fully engrossed in his work, becoming a full fledged Operative fairly quickly due to his impressive record.​

  ◤ ADULT 2012-2022: Beginning to truly come into his own as an adult, Dante began to mellow out, becoming much more laid back and jovial. While he still treated his job with the same dedication and importance as before, he was forced to ease the constant wave of negativity and toxicity through humor, the constant cycle of grief and loss slowly eating away at the value of life in his eyes. Seeing himself slowly become detached from those around him, he thought that the innate connection of family would help him, leading him to get married and adopt a child; all the while losing sight of the purpose in his work.​

  ◤ UP TO PRESENT 2022-2025: Taking on more and more work as an operative and exorcist, Dante could feel the rumblings of something greater happening to their world. Although he tried to convince his wife to take their child and leave, she vehemently refused, opting to stay together in Gran Vesta despite his best efforts. Why was he pushing them away? Was he worried for them? Or was he tired of pretending that he was? Dante attacks new missions with a fervor that many haven't seen before, and became more reckless in his execution. All for them, he continues to say, all for them.​

The tips of the spikes are imbued with vis, and glow with a color according to the wielder's state. Damara can use it as a double sided whip. She can wrap an end around an object, enemy, etc. and use her strength to pull it towards her. Depending on the force resisting her, she can either pull it fully towards her or restrain/halt existing movement *​

  ENTRANCE EXAM: One day, at a particularly trashy club, a demon manifested. One too many bar fights with a bit too much drunken rage, and Damara was facing off a minor demon in the middle of a larger brawl. In the chaos someone punched her a bit too hard, and she was once again thoughtless as she dodged the demon's attacks and threw glasses at it with ease. Of course, there was not much she could really do to a demon with her bare hands except leave it pretty beat up and confused, but an exorcist who just so happened to be at the scene finished it off and recommended her for the academy.
  
  
  TIMELINE:
  

  ◤ BIRTH 2007-2010: Born in California to a single mother and unknown father. When Damara was 3, her mom realized she has nothing to hold her down in America, and moved to Spain.
  ◤ CHILDHOOD 2010-2020: Grew up in Spain in relative comfort, however began fighting with her mom more and more. Some girls at school found it weird that she didn't know her dad, and Damara started getting mad at her mom for uprooting a life she could've had in America, as she still had no idea what actually happened with her parents. One day, at 13, driving home from school, she got into a particularly bad fight with her mom, and, in the heat of the moment, jumped out of the car. As she tumbled off the side of the road, with no major injuries but a few bruises, she watched as her mother, who has turned back in a panic to see if her daughter was okay, drove straight into a car crash. This was when her aspect was first activated, and she ran in, dodging cars she shouldn't have seen were coming, only to discover her mother passed away on impact.
  ◤ TEEN 2020-2023: She was scooped up by social services. The first year after her mother's death was hell, but she began realizing that if she hits herself hard enough her body will move on its own and she will have a few moments of blissful thoughtlessness. She soon began seeking that thoughtless feeling more and more, which lead her to the world of fake ids and parties and clubs.
  ◤ UP TO PRESENT 2024-2025: The club incident happens, and an exorcist that witnessed it recommends her for the academy, to which she jumps at the opportunity, for there was little to her life here, anyway.​

The bullets are infused with vis as to more effectively harm otherworldly demons. She is capable of shooting enemies who have not yet approached close enough, with commendable aim.   ◤ BIRTH 1987-1990: Marya was born to Ilya Chertov and Zhanna Chertova in the historical residence on the outskirts of Krasnoyarsk.
  ◤ CHILDHOOD 1990-1999: The heavy burden of her family name was a shadow throughout her entire childhood: from an early age she knew what angel she's going to talk to, what she will offer it and what she will ask for. Her younger brother, Yuroslav, was born in 1993. She first visited the gun range at ten. She looked up at the rifle her father carried, and was promised it would be hers one day.
  ◤ EARLY TEEN 1999-2003: After years of training, diligence, routine and duty, she made her angel pact at fifteen, a ritualistic process for the Chertovs. At fifteen, she tried alcohol for the first time. She told her parents it must be another trial, a holy test to prove the strength of her will. She couldn't help but feel shame. She looked into ways to escape the house that began weighing down on her, not her family, her mom and dad, but rather the grim portraits lining the walls. She declared she wanted to go to Bellum, to see the rest of the world, to learn what she must, to make her family proud. Her parents sent her away with a tearful goodbye.
  ◤ TEEN 2003-2005: She attended Bellum Academy, and managed to be a little more at ease, even though she was still more serious and uptight than many of her classmates. She participated in the Night of a 1000 Demons, and that was the first time in her life she was blackout drunk. It was going to go downhill from here. She graduated a Saint, and her parents were proud.
  ◤ NEW ADULT 2005-2010: At first, she threw herself fully into exorcism. As she began straining her aspect powers, her alcohol tolerance kept growing, and she kept being tempted to drink outside of the context of her job, even though it was a perfect excuse. Turned out, her will wasn't as strong as she imagined. Growing into adulthood also made her worries of legacy worse, despite the fact that she was already a Saint, she was frantically desperate to do something more, something that will make her parents proud again, something that would keep her in the history books of her exceptional family. These two problems combined put a strain on her relationship with her highschool sweetheart she dated in Bellum, and they broke up.
  ◤ ADULT 2010-2019: Marya came to the realization that in order for her legacy to continue she, most importantly, needs to have a child. She got into a relationship with another man, went to university for accounting, in order to be able to provide for her family. The man left her shortly after their daughter was born in 2010: Sviatoslava. She was left to raise her child alone, but she loved her and cared for her best she could. During this time, she also acquired a string of failed relationships, switched jobs multiple times in order to escape the feeling of dread she got when sitting in an office, taught Sviatoslava both English and Russian, got a masters degree, took Sviatoslava to a gun range. Her problems with alcohol didn't leave her, the only thing that changed was the massive guilt she felt, for her daughter's sake.
  ◤ UP TO PRESENT 2019-2025: As Sviatoslava grew, Yura kept contact with Marya, asking her if she wanted to return to the family house, to raise the heir there, but it conflicted with Marya's duties. Eventually, when Sviatoslava was 13, after a long series of talks with her, was sent to live with her uncle and grandparents, to be trained via traditional means. Sviatoslava promised that she would come back when she's ready, to attend Bellum Academy too, and sooner if she got homesick. Yura said this was the correct decision, for the nurturing of Sviatoslava's potential. Marya secretly thought he was just doubting if she could be a good mother, but was too scared to say that out loud. From 2019 to 2025: Marya pursued further education, and became a professor. Collected a few more exes. Replaced tequila, that she previously used, with polish liquor. Sent money to her family in Russia. Adopted an old cat and watched it die. Quit being a professor. When she heard of trouble beginning to brew again, she sighed and agreed to properly get back in the game, to show what she was worth all those years ago.​

While most commonly used upon inanimate or stationary objects, this can be used upon living beings as well, either as first-aid to seal cuts and set broken bones, or as an offensive attack that further ruptures pre-existing wounds.​

  ◤Safety Sigil Token Divination: Twinned tokens that take the form of brass spheres, one painted blue and the other red. The red sphere can be given to someone else, and will trigger when a Demon is in their presence. Once the red sphere is triggered, the blue sphere will also activate, giving the person who currently holds it an idea as to the direction and distance of its sibling token.​

  ◤Master Key Ofuda Activation: Simple talismans that Hiraku keeps in his back pocket. Crafted out of plastic rather than paper, it can be used to activate anything that requires a key, whether it be opening a locked door or starting up a car's engine. Simple, but effective.​

  ◤Circuitus Scutum: A ship's wheel. The Circuitus Scutum is a 10-spoke ship's wheel with a diameter of 42 inches, making it a weapon that can only really be wielded effectively via the boons of attunement. Often held in Hiraku's left arm, the weapon possesses two central abilities that he has mastered the usage of: [*]rotation and [*]return. The wheel consumes vis in order to spin at deadly speeds, automatically deflecting incoming attacks through rotational force or churning through enemies like a circular saw. And when throw out to clobber someone from afar, it will fly back to its wielder after impact.​

  Over the year or so Hiraku has used the Circuitus Scutum, it has become heavily affected by his Aspect. [*]When Kintsugi is applied to his Weapon, golden branches extend outwards from the handles of the ship's wheel, further increasing the size and greatly increasing its offensive potential.​

  ENTRANCE EXAM: Sponsorship - Waste not, want not. Vaguely impressed by Hiraku's personality, and seeing that the angel they were sent to hunt down turned out to possess enough sentience to form contracts, the exorcist that encountered this aspect-awoken divine decided that it was better off for society if the youth channeled his energies to the work of demon-slaying, rather than continue to freewheel his way through this world of demons and angels. A couple calls and a bootcamp designed by the Theurgy after, and Hiraku was sent off to Bellum Academy to get his first taste of what the other side of the world truly was.
  
  TIMELINE:
  

  ◤ BIRTH 2008-2010: The Himuras were a typical household living in Asahikawa, with both of Hiraku's parents running a corner store. There was nothing particular about life back then, other than moments where as a baby, Hiraku would occasionally burst into tears when he was neither hungry nor had pooped in his diapers. His parents still tease him about being a crybaby now.​

  ◤ CHILDHOOD 2010-2018: Hiraku stopped crying once he started watching TV. His parents were still entertained by his beliefs that ghosts and monsters were real, occasionally coddling him and occasionally simply growing annoyed by him, but after a certain point, he knew to keep quiet about what he saw. Anyways, back then, life was fun enough, just being known as the daredevil star of the elementary school soccer team. Hiraku had plenty of friends that followed along with his antics and tests of courage...though his late night adventures often ended up with unpaid hours helping out his parents at the shop.​

  ◤ EARLY TEEN 2018-2022: He was still popular, of course, but his grades weren't improving and his antics were becoming inappropriate for someone of his age. That, and Hiraku was still talking about ghosts and ghouls around the city! Other kids were becoming more and more serious, more mature, more adult-like. Hiraku saw that as boring, and seemed to relish in doing anything that seemed counter to the future of working in an office as a little corporate drone. He picked up work as a labourer, getting paid below minimum wage (easy to do so when the boss only paid him in cash). He picked fights with school bullies, eager to see even a bit of action (he didn't actually care for the victims). He downloaded language-learning apps and pored over them studiously, without seeing any improvement in his academic scores (because, of course, he ended up sleeping through most of those).​

  ​

  His teachers considered him someone who had great potential, but who was squandering it. His friends were beginning to distance themselves from him due to his delinquent behavior. His parents were beginning to worry about his future.​

  ◤ Teen 2022-2024: His dad was impressed. His mom was pissed. But Hiraku pushed for it, all the way until graduation from junior high. He wanted to travel, to see the world, and he wanted to do so alone. He had squirreled enough money from his part-time work and his New Years gifts to do so, and he didn't want to go attend high school either. He'd keep up with materials on his own time, take exams to prove he knew his stuff, but he wasn't going to spend 10 hours a day there anymore. He had to get some fresh air. And, once that summer was over? Hiraku was off to the continent. To China! So much bigger, so much wider, with people so much ruder! And what phantoms he saw too, scrambling down alleyways or crawling up skyscrapers! It was only a few months, but the youth was feeling like he was getting hooked on just how large the world was. He went back to Japan. Worked hard at the family business and at the construction site. Studied up on English now, and on finances. Next autumn, and he was on board to Europe, dozing off on international trains and biking up vast vistas. Rinse and repeat.​

  ​

  At times, it sucked. At times, he genuinely feared for his life. But above all else? It was addicting, holding his life in his own hands.​

  ◤ UP TO PRESENT 2024-2025: And that same excitement was coursing through him when, while off visiting waterfalls in the Icelandic countryside, Hiraku came across a monster who spoke to him. Who offered to look into his soul. Who wished for a piece of his flesh in exchange for giving him the reassurance that the world he saw wasn't caused by delusion and teenage recklessness. That it was a truly exciting, truly interesting world, truly dangerous world.​

  So of course he gave up his finger. It was a small thing to lose, if he truly did lose it. And if all this was still just some mental illness, then at least he knew now that he should definitely get diagnosed for it.​

  ​

  Hiraku didn't need a diagnosis, and one year later, he was sponsored by the exorcist who found him to enter a school just for peace-hating buffoons like himself to chase down the monsters that hid in the recesses of human trauma and sin. With heavy ties to the criminal underworld, they believe that it only makes sense for exorcists to plunge head-first into human cruelty, greed, and evil, for that too is where demons dwell most. At times, they have fallen under criticism by other Families for intentionally creating environments that would encourage demonic presences, but its hard to argue with the results: there is no other Family who can 'manage' negative vis as effectively as them, and subsequently, no other Family who manages as much territory as them.

  ◤Personal Lootbox So long as she has line of sight, Shu-Mu can mark those who possess vis with a 'Gacha' mark. Every time she inflicts damage upon them, something they personally own, whether it be physical capabilities, vis amount, or Aspect abilities, is transferred over to Shu-Mu instead, with the amount transferred dependent on the severity of the damage taken. These 'stat' increases disappear once the target is dead or Shu-Mu removes the 'Gacha' mark. [*]Upon death, the marked individual's body turns into an amount of money (the currency is decided by Shu-Mu when the mark is made) proportionate to the amount of vis they had left on them.​

  ◤Phantom Thievery By raising her left hand up in the air and establishing line of sight with her target, Shu-Mu can 'teleport' objects to her left hand, so long as they belonged to the target. This can be physical (items on their person), mental (their memories or their knowledge of particular skills), or supernatural (vis and aspect powers), listed from least to most vis hungry. [*]Objects stolen this way remain fully functional, and Shu-Mu can use them as if they were her own, with mental and spiritual 'objects' being balls of light that she swallows in order to obtain them. [*]Shu-Mu can steal souls to use as fuel.​

  ◤ Dust is the End of All Things Ofuda Transmutation -> Ofuda Conjuring: Simple talismans that, when pasted upon an inanimate object, turn said object into sand. When placed upon a large object, such as a building or a wall, the effective range of the transmutation effect is that of a 5 foot diameter sphere. [*]Objects converted to sand can be repurposed as a vessel for demons to dwell within, turning into shambling golems with the unique ability to fuse with each other to form a large whole.​

  ◤Tying Burdens to the Beast Animal Sealing -> Ofuda Conjuring: A quick disembowelment of a living animal causes a grotesque transformation to occur, where the cut-open stomach and the space where the organs once were becomes a hungering void that swallows up the targeted demon, sealing it within the corpse of the brutally-slain animal. [*]A specialized Ofuda can be placed upon the corpse afterwards, allowing the demon sealed within to possess the corpse, albeit with physical capabilities equivalent to that of the animal slain and spiritual abilities entirely unavailable.​

  ◤ Separation of Wheat from Chaff Token Barrier -> Blood Disabling: Iron spikes carved in the shape of guardian lions form the token for this particular barrier. Once driving into the ground, they activate, creating a barrier the size of a city block that subtly controls the minds of pedestrians to cause them to avoid the domain that the token resides in. Though those with strong enough willpower can still push forth, the closer they are to the center, the stronger the mind-control effect. [*]If more of these iron spikes are driven into the borders of a pre-existing barrier, the barrier's size and efficacy grows, allowing one to cover an even greater area. [*]Blood, if spilled upon the spike, will enable an additional Tradition to activate, broadly disabling and hampering the ability for technology to function while within the barrier. Communications go down, phones turn off, and lights shut off. A blackout, essentially.​

  ◤ The World Within The Lotus Soul Illusion: A devastatingly powerful illusion spell that traps a single mind in a phantasm where they can accomplish everything they set out to do, where their hard work is rewarded, where they can love and are loved, where no random tragedies could cut their success short. Eighty years pass in the blink of an eye. A 'suicidal' Tradition, the theory with which is taught and kept within the Fong Family, it is meant to allow exorcists to die in a paradise of their own making. Shu-Mu, however, can commercialize it.​

  ◤Lucky Day: An oversized war hammer. Lucky Day's central ability is that of mass manipulation, allowing it to change instantly from 2 lbs to 200 lbs, turning it into a weapon that can be swung as if it were nothing more than a wooden stick, before it strikes with seismic force upon impact. [*]Once a hugely destructive weapon, the nature of its wielder has further transformed the weapon, allowing it to generate an even greater knockback force than it already can, in exchange for losing out on pure offensive power. Oversized demons are sent flying away with a single strike, as if they were a pinball caught in a machine, and there have been plenty of times where Shu-Mu has sent them on a literal home run. [*]The claw of the war hammer, on the other hand, serves a more direct purpose: it drinks the vis of those that it bites into, draining them of the spiritual energies within while empowering Shu-Mu's own reserves.​

  GRADUATION EVALUATION: A black sheep, even amongst the controversial members of the Fong Family, Shu-Mu has been noted to be perhaps the least heroic of the Saints of Tower 9. There were rumors that claimed that it was her lack of effort, or her lack of focus, or her lack of everything and anything, that caused the loss of the Pantheon's greatest potential talent. She was never a great student, after all, and only seemed to perform well on the field when she was allowed to operate alone and with maximum discretion. But, of course, she was still a member of one of the Ten Families, and she had still survived the Night of a 1000 Demons. Her graduation was approved, while most hoped that she would die within her first year as a proper exorcist.
  
  Alas, it is as Shu-Mu says: "I lived, bitch."
  
  TIMELINE:
  

  ◤ BIRTH 1988: Born from an affair between the wife of an influential member of the Fong Family and a delivery worker at a fried chicken joint, Shu-Mu's birth wasn't really celebrated. Certainly, she would have been abandoned at birth if not for the fact that her divine nature.​

  ◤ CHILDHOOD 1988-1998: The black sheep of the family and a black stain upon the patriarch's masculinity, Shu-Mu was set off to the side, as if to bear the sins of her biological father in his place. Exorcists that they were, there was still enough 'righteousness' that her parents did not neglect her entirely, especially in her younger years, but its telling that her memories of childhood harkens back more to her time alone or her time with her nanny than anyone else. Her siblings, of course, had free reign to terrorize her. Shu-Mu, of course, would not forget that.​

  ◤ EARLY TEEN 1998-2001: Awakened to her aspect in her early teens, a full three years later than normal, it shouldn't have been a surprise that Shu-Mu's aspect was something so twisted, in the banal, simple way that only humans could be. Her fingers were the sticky sort, of course. She had retaliated where she could against her siblings, making their favorite clothes disappear, claiming their snacks as her own, sending their toys into the incinerator. Revenge was petty and delicious, and when she was caught? Shu-Mu saw the punishment as a reward as well: sent out from the family estate to live in a shabby apartment in Hong Kong's downtown core, with a caretaker who was paid to not do their job. It was in those seething, chaotic streets that she made her lifelong brothers and sisters, the neighbourhood punks that she would lift up with her later on in life.​

  ◤ TEEN 2001-2006: But, of course, Shu-Mu was brought into an exorcist academy first, to serve her term as cannon fodder in the perpetual war of the divine. Despite the lack of childhood training, she acclimated to her environment well. Violence was fun, after all! And it was great to be able to defend herself! Traditions, rooted in mysticism and superstition, were an absolute joy to study! And getting a weapon so fun and fancy as Lucky Day (she re-named it, because dead languages should stay dead)? Absolutely fantastic! Her classmates were all sorts of interesting, repressed, manic folks as well. With such enthusiasm for her new exorcist-academic life, it was almost a shock for her instructors that Shu-Mu turned delinquent again in her second year, after a fantastic first year, interested only in pursuing her own interests.​

  ​

  Of course, there was the Night of a 1000 Demons too. She had never grazed death so many times as during that ever-lasting night. But certainly, Shu-Mu took all the wrong lessons from it.​

  ◤ NEW ADULT 2006-2011: After graduation, Shu-Mu did whatever the hell she wanted, really. Her near-death experience had made her hedonistic, a whirlwind of infractions as she toyed with the patience of the Theurgists of the Pantheon. Her connections with the Fong Family worked well enough to weasel her way into the criminal underbelly of China, where she picked up all the tricks needed to start her own little business projects, gathering her a handy amount of wealth from the exploitation of human greed and desperation. What can she say? You really couldn't lose if you got into the casino business. The music? Oh, that's just her personal taste.​

  ◤ ADULT 2011-2021: Life was fast after that. When she wanted to take vacations to exotic locales, Shu-Mu perused the missions offered by the Pantheon, taking the ones that would send her furthest away from home. When she wanted to make money, she'd revisit the places she had handed off to her old friends, remind them a little about what they owed her, and come away with a nice wad of cash. On occasion, she'd hit up her old Saint buddies, though a remarkable amount of them had only grown more dull with age, and on other occasions, she'd find a particular thing to hyperfixate on and disappear for months at a time in pursuit of it, before promptly discarding it for her next interest. Most of all, however?​

  Shu-Mu enjoyed sitting at the upper veranda of her latest illegal casino, watching people gamble for their lives and with their lives, all while she wondered why none of them would gather up the guts to rob the place.​

  ◤ UP TO PRESENT 2021-2025: Alas, the Theurgists could only tolerate her freewheeling behavior for so long, and the Fong Family were tired too of having to shield their black sheep, no matter how much profit she could turn. An ultimatum was thus given to her: move to Gran Vesta and operate as a stationary exorcist there, where the presence of three of the other Ten Families would be weighty enough to prevent Shu-Mu from running amok. There, she was expected to support the academy in its educational activities, as well as report her monthly activities to a representative of the Pantheon.​

  It was basically house arrest, wasn't it?​

  What a pain, but what could she do? So Shu-Mu bought out a place in Les Halles de Lyon, downloaded Duolingo, and started up a proper business.​

  ENTRANCE EXAM: Though he was the son of a Saint of Tower Nine, August refused to use his father’s name when applying for the academy. Through his combat skills and warm personality, he made a solid enough impression on his examiners to be admitted. He impressed them especially with his sheer sense of passion and dedication in the tasks he completed.
  
  TIMELINE:
  

  ◤ BIRTH 2009: August was born prematurely in NYC to Cal Gagnon and Luna Jeun, both of whom were exorcists. Cal, however, was far more famous, through his connection to one of the great families and his status as a Saint of Tower 9.​

  ◤ CHILDHOOD 2009-2020: Growing up, August had a relatively comfortable life, with his father’s salary as a lawyer paying for the bulk of their household’s expenses. As time went on, however, August’s father showed up less and less often, becoming preoccupied by his work. This strained the relationship between August’s parents, until they were finally divorced when he was only 11 years old.​

  ◤ EARLY TEEN 2020-2021: August’s mother, Luna, didn’t take the divorce very well. No longer being able to rely entirely on Cal’s money, she took up a second job. August, meanwhile, felt incredibly isolated and abandoned. He started slacking off at school- his grades dropped and he lost many of his friends.​

  ◤ TEEN 2021-2025: Luna married a doctor for his money, who turned out to be rather emotionally and physically abusive to August, treating him harshly for his poor grades and seeming lack of interest in much of anything. Luna tired of this situation quickly, and her mental status began to deteriorate. She started to blame August for the issues in both of her relationships. Meanwhile, August felt the pressure build up all around him, both from his parents, teachers, and bullies. This continued until he finally snapped and blew up a bully’s car. It was through this rush of power and euphoria that he encountered an angel, who offered him power in exchange for a fragment of his soul. August agreed, gaining the aspect of “Inferno.” He used his new powers to intimidate his step-father into compliance. He then promised his mother that he would use his powers to become “great” and change the world for the both of them.​

  ◤ UP TO PRESENT 2025: After acquiring his aspect, August did his best to correct the wayward course of his life. He began obsessively studying and improving his academic performance, alongside training his aspect in preparation of applying to Bellum Academy. Nowadays, August is fueled by a deep sense of spite against the world: a need to prove it wrong and a desire to burn away everything he hates.   GRADUATION EVALUATION: Among the Saints of Tower 9, Evelyn was noted as being a particularly difficult student to evaluate. Her academic performance was top-notch. Moreover, her competence had been proven by the Night of a 1000 Demons, during which she had played a vital, if not flashy, role in acquiring vital intelligence on the demon army and their Heretic collaborator. Still, her evaluators and some of her direct superiors and instructors found themselves troubled by Evelyn's odd personality and treatment of her peers. Many called into question various incidents that had occurred both during and prior to her attendance at Bellum Academy, and a few even saw her as another Heretic in the making. Still, none of these concerns stopped Evelyn from successfully graduating as a full blown exorcist.

  ◤ BIRTH 1988: Evelyn Rostova was born to a middle class family in the Siberian city of Novosibirsk.​

  ◤ CHILDHOOD 1988-1998: The Rostova household offered Evelyn a comfortable childhood, but even at a young age, she exhibited odd traits. Evelyn often ignored social norms and rules, wandered off alone for long periods of time, and behaved in reckless and callous ways, with little regard for those around her.​

  ◤ EARLY TEEN 1998-2000: As the years went on, Evelyn grew frustrated and resentful at her inability to understand the rules and expectations laid out for her by her society and family, even as she became more experienced at faking normal emotions. All of these negative emotions awakened within Evelyn the umbral aspect of "Ego," which she promptly used to slaughter her family, claiming both her freedom and inheritance.​

  ◤ TEEN 2000-2005: Evelyn left Russia for Gran Vesta, seeking new opportunities and fleeing economic downturn in her home country. For the first few years of her time in Gran Vesta, Evelyn struggled to make ends meet, though she eventually managed to acquire a part-time job as a service worker and driver. All the while, her eyes were dead-set on attending Bellum Academy, out of a belief that only through fostering her abilities would she finally be able to understand the people around her. While she had a storied career there and befriended many of her peers, Evelyn continued to feel dissatisfied and hollow, right up to her graduation.​

  ◤ NEW ADULT 2005-2010: Evelyn laid low for a few years following her graduation, taking up a few missions on occasion for some of the various families in Gran Vesta. Her main priority during this time was acquiring experience outside of exorcist work, gaining a Masters' Degree in Psychology and becoming a credited therapist. Evelyn explored many disparate activities and social spheres, but she continued to feel empty throughout it all.​

  ◤マアシイ (MAASHI): A traditional double-action revolver. The words "smooth" and "steady" are neatly engraved into each side of the gun's grip, and the barrel is well-worn with various scratches and scrapes. Akira doesn't often use their gun. When they do, however, it's often with one of three types of bullets: those that burn, those that explode, or those made out of plain rubber. Two of those are of their own ingenious creations, and they're absolute hell to make.​

  ENTRANCE EXAM: As a Muto, it was entirely expected for Akira to enter Bellum Academy eventually. It was their only option, in fact; they didn't particularly excel in academics, and their grades in gym was certainly one of the biggest things tanking their GPA, so they really had no other choice in the matter but to impress their examiners.
  Thankfully, it all paid off in the end. Their sweet smile, persistent attitude, and surprising skills with a gun managed to be enough to get them accepted within a matter of days. Although, the examiners recognizing their name might've had something to do with it as well...
  
  TIMELINE:
  

  ◤ BIRTH 2008-2010: For Akira, their birth was one of strife - and yet, also one of great joy. Their mother, Kaori, died in childbirth, leaving their father, Hanzo, to become the primary caregiver in their life. This never bothered them much, not truly - after all, who needs a mom when your dad is so amazing?​

  ◤ CHILDHOOD 2012-2020: Akira's childhood was one of contradictions. From Hanzo's warm, encouraging voice to the grueling physical training required by their family, Akira was made to feel all sorts of ways growing up. The only feeling they choose to keep from those tumultuous years, however, is their unyielding love and admiration for their father. No matter what, he was always there: from the time they fell on head-over-heels trying to walk to the first moment their aspect awakened, there was always his guiding hand just around the corner, his comforting hugs to keep the ache at bay.​

  And yet, there was only so much he could do when his child finally became aware of how cruel the world could be.​

  ◤ EARLY TEEN 2020-2022: Following Akira discovering the truth of how exactly Hanzo had awoken his aspect, the young child knew exactly what they must do to keep him safe: they must awaken their own.​

  This is what lead to them sitting on the floor of their room, scribbling in their diary, doing their best to brainstorm an idea of what to do next. It is also what evidentially caused them to give themselves a panic attack over their father dying, and thus what caused their aspect to manifest - although that only happened once they couldn't keep themselves from sobbing.​

  Inevitably, when Hanzo came home, he was met with a rather ecstatic Akira, a wide smile spread across their face despite the crusty mess made of their face, and their notebook proudly held out to show a small flower blooming from the middle. In fact, there were small flowers littered everywhere, each one in a peculiar state of partial transmutation.​

  This was the beginning of a very, very long period of experimentation.​

  ◤ TEEN 2022-2024: Confident that their dad would (probably) not be murdered before their very eyes, Akira made the effort to apply for Bellum Academy once Hanzo was confident they were prepared; in fact, the kid barely slept some nights, purely because they refused to sit down and take a break. It all paid off in the end, thankfully, but Hanzo was sure to give them some gentle reprimanding once they let it slip that they'd only gotten four hours of sleep the night before.​

  ◤ UP TO PRESENT 2024-2025: While they might've never stopped pushing themself to the limit, Akira did at least start giving their body a bit more of break - although most of the credit should go to Hanzo for getting them to finally fix their sleep schedule. The training was reduced to only a few times a week, while the rest of the time was either spent focusing on school or simply taking the time to hang out with their father, and they began trying to find ways to wind down at night before going to bed, as well as waking up at a consistent rate.​

  ◤BEOBACHTEN With only an additional snap after his primary trigger, Oz is able to see through anything resembling an eye. He can see through up to 3 various vessels at a time without difficulty - any more than that tend to give him a massive headache, and may even render his vision distorted after a prolonged period of time. This ability dissipates once he open his eyes.​

  ◤MIJN SCHATJES Divination Tokens: These are three small, round robots Oz made with the assistance of his mother.   ◤SNOEP: A big, robotic steel ball with four retractable, claw-like legs, along with two hatches on each of its sides and one on the top of its head. Oz doesn't like to fight himself, so he lets his robo-buddy do it for him. The hatches on either of Snoep's sides can slide down to let four arms slither out - two for shooting, the other two for grabbing and dragging. In case Oz really needs to defend himself, however, there's a convenient handgun hidden away in the third hatch on Snoep's head, along with a case of spare bullets imbued with a tradition (special order from a friend back in Rapid City).​

  GRADUATION EVALUATION: While most would consider Oz an intelligent and dedicated individual, he was admittedly a difficult student to work with in the beginning. Showing up late, foregoing assignments he found no interest in, being stingy about who he was willing to work with-- overall, he was an asshole when he first arrived at Bellum Academy, but it thankfully faded away the more time he spent with the other Saints. By the time graduation rolled around, many considered Oz a friend and steadfast ally, one who would do anything to keep those on his side of the battlefield safe.

  ◤ BIRTH 1988-1990: Born to Ivo Achterberg and Auguste Achterberg in one of the biggest cities within South Dakota, Oz's early years were actually quite calm. He was a rather quiet baby, too, from what his parents tell him ("born with a stick up his ass" were the exact words his mother used), and it was common for him to use actions more than sounds in order to get attention.​

  ◤ CHILDHOOD 1990-2000: As Oz got older, his interest in machines and robotics began to grow, as did his curiosity over the world of the pantheon- particularly angels. He was told they were dangerous, yes, and he knew how easily they could turn his little body into mush, but a part of him still couldn't help but dream about speaking to one, perhaps even touching them with his own hands. Both of his parents immediately dissuaded him from these dreams, sadly, but it was a thought which lingered in the back of his head well throughout his younger years.​

  ◤ EARLY TEEN 2000-2002: Unfortunately for Oz, things would begin to go downhill after he hit fourteen, all because of one incident: his parents ending up in the hospital due to a run-in with a couple of demons. This devastated the poor boy, causing him to drop out of school for a brief period as he became unable to cope with the very real possibility of losing what he felt was his whole world, and he spent nearly every day they were away held up in his room, refusing to do anything but lay in bed and eat whatever his grandparents cooked for dinner. It took him being told they were out of critical condition for the fear in his heart to lessen, and by the time they made it to the ICU, the collar of his shirt was already soaked with tears.​

  That night, he sat on the porch with his grandparents for a long, long time, even after they went inside. And it was this time by himself, his little face still filled with overwhelming relief and gratitude from the day's prior events, that his aspect chose to arise - as did the presence of an angel.​

  It took him crying out in pain for anyone to realize what was wrong, but by then it was too late.​

  ◤ TEEN 2002-2005: It took a while for Oz to get used to using a wheelchair. He didn't regret agreeing to the pact, not if it meant he'd be able to keep an eye on his family, but his parents were certainly distraught over the fact his legs were one step away from being completely nonfunctional. Not only that, but his new abilities came with a strange sense of anxiety, a deep-seated paranoia over the world being out to get them, of needing to protect and ward off any dangers which may come to both him and those he loved.​

  This is what led him to becoming far more involved in the family business, as well as him applying for Bellum Academy; not a difficult feat, considering his family's various connections throughout the pantheon as well as his innate talent in robotics and sheer determination. Plus, he was able to pass with flying colors following his support during The Night Of 1000 Demons,​

  ◤ NEW ADULT 2005-2013: Oz took a year off before applying to university, choosing to go back to Rapid City for a short period to spend time with his family. When he returned, he immediately enrolled into university with the goal in obtaining a Master's of Science in Robotics, and he threw himself heavily into his studies- nearly to the expense of his interactions with other people. This isolation lessened somewhat the older he grew, thankfully.​

  ◤ ADULT 2013-2023: Once his education was completed, Oz began dipping back into the world of the pantheon much more frequently, usually acting as back-up and support for others in particularly extraneous exorcisms and providing various security systems/weapon refurnishing services. He visited his family much more often as well during these years, whether it be purely for business or for the occasional holiday, and his network of friends gradually began to expand as well; he even attempted exploring his romantic prospects (although it only lasted for a few brief months, and by the end of it he ultimately decided it wasn't for him).​

  ◤ UP TO PRESENT 2023-2025: For the last two years, Oz has been spent smoothing out any bugs in his new security project: Snoep. He's been seeing his parents much more frequently as well, and with the way things are going, he may return back to his hometown permanently in order to take over the family business.​

  ◤NAME: DAEMON MACHINA​

  These are the Leonis Foundation's first real field-ready set of Vis-compatible prosthetics. In particular, "Lefty's" left arm contains a small engine designed be fueled by capsules of her own Umbra. Draining the capsule activates her trigger; the engine helps smoothen the process of her Vis-Metabolism; and releasing her explosions from her palm helps her better brace against the recoil. Her legs are just prosthetics, but are planned to be weaponized once the Leonis Foundation has gained permission from the Pantheon.​

  ENTRANCE EXAM: Sponsorship(...?) - "Lefty" was permitted into the Academy through the patronage of the Leonis Foundation. Of course, the Leonis Foundation is in service of the Ghanem Family...so its highly likely that there are those who are simply eager to start seeing their latest experiment "research development" on the field. Regardless of her current aptitude.
  
  REPORT TIMELINE:
  

  ◤ "BIRTH" Early Autumn 2024: A tear in the Underground's Miasma is detected by theurgists. Because of rumored threats of Demon activity near the tear, 1 patrol unit is dispatched by the Bellum Academy to preform secure the tear. During their mission, the team encountered a rare scenario—the few split seconds where a Demon is in the middle of consuming someone else...of erasing them, without yet killing them. Due to quick action by the patrol unit's Alumni, the girl saved from death. This came at the cost of the Demon eluding the patrol unit, escaping deeper into the Underground.​

  ◤ "SECOND DEATH" Late Autumn 2024: After it was noticed that Umbra levels around the girl were rapidly rising, the Academy patrol was prohibited from preforming first aid on her until a seal could be put in place. Though this order was initially protested by the patrol unit, the Alumni was requested to make it clear that the Umbra surrounding her was quickly becoming fatal. After 24 minutes, an exorcist arrived on the scene and sealed her. After an additional 19 minutes, the girl was in the safety of a Gran Vesta emergency room. However...by then, only one of her limbs had been salvagable. Everything else was reported as missing. Her other 3 limbs. Her memories. Her name. Her face. The mission is reported as a failure.​

  ◤ "STARVATION" Early Winter 2024: The Leonis Foundation was alerted to the existence of the girl. With nobody to pay her ongoing treatment, and her missing limbs seemingly offering her few opportunities to work it back...the Leonis Foundation was the first to declare interest in becoming her patron. Behind closed doors, the Leonis Foundation quickly pitched their "DAEMON MACHINA" bargain to the Ghanem Family. In exchange for paying the hospital bill, and outright building her a custom set of new limbs...they would explore the girl's unprecedented connection to the Demon's Umbra. The research opportunity of a lifetime in exchange for the ability to live.​

  ◤ GROWING MONTHS Mid Winter - Late Winter 2024: After much bureaucratic back-and-forth on the conditions of the bargain, the Leonis Foundation was given a hefty research grant (and a heftier amount of regulations) to pursue "DAEMON MACHINA". It was by this point that the Leonis Foundation learnt of the nickname given to the girl by hospital staff: "Lefty". "Lefty" almost immediately agrees to their bargain herself, notably eager to get out hospital care. It is unknown whether this eagerness was a desire for vengeance, a desire to improve her life quality, or simple relief from stagnation.​

  ◤ UP TO PRESENT 2025: As of now, "Lefty" is under the ownership of the Leonis Foundation; and, in reality, by the Ghanem. They have undertaken the task of not only preparing "Lefty's" prosthetics, but also conducting constant tests on her while preforming regular maintanance on her face-seal. "Lefty" has complained few times about the regulations of her lifestyle, and has taken well to supplementary lessons in preparation to join the academy in 2025.​

Since these don't actually exist, what that means is instead of being sent on missions, he runs the "Leonis Foundation"—a research company focused on cutting-edge biotechnology—on the behalf of the Ghanems. While most of Raphael's work is of a more secretive nature, the Leonis Foundation is at least outwardly known for their prosthetics work. Even non-Divines order custom prosthetics, forming the bulk of their "public" trade.

  ◤BASTION Raphael can channel his Vis to surround any non-animate object. As long as his breath is being held, this veneer of Vis will become completely fixed in place; effectively creating an immovable object. The Vis will completely soften the impact of any blow, and kill any momentum that hits it.​

  ◤CAGE Raphael can channel his Vis to surround a single living being. While they are surrounded in the veneer of Vis, they will become an immovable object (an experience described as "being both suffocated and crushed at the same time"). This technique is far more difficult to use, and it is possible to struggle out of the Cage.​

  ◤BLOCKADE Token Barrier: By using anywhere from 1 to 5 tokens, Raphael can form multiple Barriers at once. These can either be layered unto themselves to form a highly-dense shield, or can spread out to multiple people at once. The Barrier will form wherever the tokens are sent, requiring precise aim from the User to be used properly.​

  ◤SHUTDOWN Blood Disabling: By fusing his blood into the veneer of Vis, Raphael can be forcibly shut down whatever it his Vis is surrounding. This can be used to disrupt conjuration, to dispel illusions, and even to forcibly de-activate several divination.​

  ◤LETHARGY FIELD Word Sealing: By sacrificing a word with a similar meaning to ' halt ', Raphael can spread his Vis to form a 15m x 20m field around himself. All Vis in this field is indiscriminately sealed away. Thus far, Raphael has sacrificed the words ' cease ' and ' desist '.​

  ◤ LEONIS IUBA | CATULUS LEONIS : Due to the nature of Raphael's Aspect, he serves the role of a defender more than he does an attacker. LEONIS IUBA is the bread and butter of this "protector" fighting style; not only is it the family heirloom of the de Leon family...they're pretty much one of the only people who CAN wield it. This towering, 5'10ft tall shield (with Raphael standing at 6'4) can easily cover the frames of most men—and that's exactly the purpose it serves. LEONIS IUBA serves as the main target for Bastion, acting almost akin to a portable fortress.​

  ​

  If LEONIS IUBA is the knight in shining armor, then it's accompanying CATULUS LEONIS would be it's proverbial squire. As a smaller buckler, this shield is better suited for quick interception and and more offensive attacks. Of course, though...Raphael possesses enough innate strength to just brute force his way with his shields as an offensive, too.​

  GRADUATION EVALUATION: Raphael has gone on only a few missions since his graduation. Almost everybody who knows him acknowledge that his temperament is poorly suited for the profession—for Raphael is a soft-spoken man who prefers to avoid conflict, who struggles to be harsh on others, who is too easily swayed by his heart. However...almost every exorcist who has worked alongside Raphael has, at some point, been saved by him. While the Ghanems currently prioritize his research over his battlefield presence—what's impressive about Raphael isn't his combat abilities. It's the fact that even as a student during the Night of 1000 Demons, his presence alone massively brings down the fatality rate of any mission.
  
  TIMELINE:
  

  ◤ BIRTH 1985-1990: Raphael is born in the coastal resort-town of San Sebastián. Dr. Miriam de León and restaraunt owner Santiago de León take a full-year break in order to celebrate the birth of their child, having gone through much worry about not being able to conceive. Though they remained distant to the world of the divine, their family in the Ghanem gave a warm regards to their family. Those especially fond of the de Leóns even travel to congratulate them in person.​

  ◤ CHILDHOOD 1990-1999: Raphael is taught only the basics of the Pantheon, and experiences no other contact with the Divine (besides the occassional visit from their friends in the Ghanem). Since it had been generations since the last de León awakened their aspect, few expected Raphael to break the chain. While Raphael began to prioritize his studies (despite constant pleas to use his huge body for sports), 41 people "go missing" in San Sebastián. Tourism begins to plummet. The town's mayor refuses to call an exorcist from Gran Vesta, however, as to hide his ties to the town's criminal activities.​

  ◤ EARLY TEEN 1999-2002: Miriam, Santiago, and Raphael are attacked by the Demon. Raphael's Aspect awakens. The Demon is killed.​

  The Ghanem almost immediately offer the de León family a chance to scholarship at the University of Gran Vesta...at the cost of him also entering Bellum Academy first. Raphael is initially hesitant to trade away his safe, comfortable life for the dangerous one of an exorcist; however, advice from his mother eventually compels him to join his friends in the Ghanem family. After 3 years of basic exorcist training, he is taken by the Ghanem for Gran Vesta.​

  ◤ TEEN 2002-2005: Raphael enrolls in Bellum Academy with the goal of attaining a scholarship to UGV. He initially struggled more than anybody else to fit into the world of the Pantheon, and constantly fell short of the abilities his fellow classmates. However, after saving the lives multiple other Saints during the Night of 1000 Demons, Raphael overcame his feelings of inferiority and fraudulence. He graduates with top honors alongside his other Saints, free from any lingering doubts.​

  ◤ NEW ADULT 2005-2009: As promised, Raphael immediately enrolls in the University of Gran Vesta after his graduation from Bellum Academy. While he was naturally called upon frequently by the Ghanems as a Saint—as his research at the University slowly began to make progress, he too was slowly called for missions less and less by the Ghanem. Nobody is exactly certain what work he produced to interest the Ghanem in such a way; however, Raphael's sense of compassion eased the minds of most who knew him.​

  ◤ ADULT 2009-2023: After graduation from the University of Gran Vesta, Raphael starts up the "Leonis Foundation" with backing from the Ghanem. Now, at a comfortable point in his life, he began to frequently visit his loved ones. Saint alumni who were still alive; his mother and father back at home; old childhood friends. Though he had little going on in his own personal life (despite his all-too-obvious desire to have a child), Raphael became an anchor in many people's lives. A comforting presence; quiet, yet always there for them.​

  ◤ UP TO PRESENT 2024-2025: With the discovery of "Lefty", Raphael was placed in technical charge of her. Despite his desire to raise a child, Raphael focuses mostly on making sure that there's a decent distance between them. Because first and foremost, Raphael was her doctor and mechanic...and "Lefty" was his experiment to watch over. The DAEMON MACHINA currently stands as his most recent work, and the Ghanem have high hopes for it.​
