Futuristic Eluvian Bounty(REBOOT)

August 'Varien' Kinnear

August sighed and let out a fake groan of annoyance, nudging her again before leaning his head back and staring up at the sky. After a few moments he looked down at the path they were on, glancing at her before staring at his feet while he walked slowly. She knew he was annoyed, he could tell, he knew she was purposefully keeping what they were doing a secret.

August looked up at the large building, making a strange face before allowing his mask to slip away and then walking in. He looked around slowly, staring at the receptionist before looking at Annabel and walking over to join her. He shot her a questioning look for a few seconds before looking around and waving his arms across the room.

"What's this ?" He asked.

@Daniel reaving

"What you've never heard of hivocor?" She asked as she walked to a massive empty room the size of a stadium and a screen popped up and she started to type things into it

August 'Varien' Kinnear

August rose an eyebrow at the word 'Hivocor' before following her into the empty room where he looked around at the blank walls before walking up behind Annabel, peering over her shoulder and watching as her hands flew across the keyboard with practiced precision. His face remained blank as he knew a robot was programmed with a series of binary and other codes so typing would not be a trivial thing for an android of her rank.

"A. No, like I said, I haven't been here for more than two hours. B. Mind me asking what we're doing here ?"

"A. Hivocor is a company that makes roomed like this that they rent out to people to use for practiacly anything they could imagine. B. I'm setting up the game where going to play." And said as she typed rapidly the screen easily able to keep up with her as all the coding streamed up the screen to fast for him to see

August 'Varien' Kinnear

August grinned and nodded before cocking a brow at the stream of codes that flashed past on screen while Annabel simply continued to type. He looked around at the room once again before drawing his gun and checking it slowly, a small habit. He then moved nto his sniper rifle which he topped up on and then looked at Annabel again.

"I see... Like a virtual reality room ?"

August grinned and looked over at Annabel just as the screen she was looking at disappeared along with the keyboard before she ran up to him and snatched his weapons from him. He growled lightly for a few seconds before calming down and watching as she walked towards one of the walls. He frowned as he looked around, his mind juggling between the reason for his weapons being taken and what the room would shape itself into.

"Can I ask what virtual reality we will be partaking in ?"

@Daniel reaving

August 'Varien' Kinnear

August rose an eyebrow as he watched her dump his weapons within a small compartment, watching as it closed before crossing his arms. He opened his mouth to ask why she hadn't stashed her weapons but closed it after he realized he would look whiny if he did. He looked around slowly and watched as the area around them began to shift and change slowly, beginning by turning the floor into fake grass and then creating a net in the middle of the room. He remembered a time when he had partaken in tennis matches with some accomplices in his time after his freedom, mainly because a bet had been placed on it, with him having to forfeit his suit schematics and the accomplice having to give up his scorpion fighter. Of course he had won.

"Tennis... Why not." He murmured to himself.

August watched as the racket appeared within her grip along with a ball before looking down at another racket that appeared hovering in front of him. He looked at Annabel and smiled back at her before taking the racket and tightening his grip on it, swinging it light as though testing it's weight. He then lowered the racket to his side and stared back at Annabel, waiting for her to start.

@Daniel reaving (Do you think we could time skip the game ? It probably won't be the most eventful thing to describe)

By the game ended the score was in annabels favor and she stood there breathing heavily as she stared at him knowing the only reason she had won was because he had tripped when trying to get the ball a couple times but hey she still some which made her happy. "Good game." She said in an exhausted tone

August 'Varien' Kinnear

August grinned as he held the racket limp at his side in exhaustion, nodding as she commented before allowing his racket to fall from his hand as he watched it float there. He then made his way over to the wall where he saw her stash his weapon before running a hand across it, finally noticing a small ridge within the wall. He grinned as he pressed it, watching as the compartment open and he could grab his weapons and holster them. He then turned to Annabel and grinned before tipping his head slightly.

"Not so bad yourself."

He grinned as he made his way to the door, opening it and then leaning on the door frame as he waited for Annabel to arrive. Once she went through he turned and closed the door behind him, making his way back to the lobby where he crossed his arms and waited.

August looked down at her before looking around and exiting the building, holding the door for her once more before exiting onto the streets where he stood and looked around. He then looked down at her before shrugging a little, drawing his revolver and checking it before nodding and slipping it in a holster.

"How about something more attuned to our line of work ? Do you have any bounties that you might need help with ?"

Despite her mass, Griffon's man was able to lift her into the chopper. It swayed on the roof, then awkwardly made its way into the sky. As they pulled away, she seethed and threw the bag of cash on the floor.

"I did what you asked with time to spare. I'd consider it a sign of respect if you'd not treat me like a prisoner. Take your damned money."

Griffon looked over at the woman and then said "You did good..." he then wiped his hands with a towel and looked at his wristpad, they were going back to base, Griffon said while the choppers flew out of the town and soon began to land at a secluded location "Got some more jobs for you if you are up for it." as soon as they got off they quickly got the girl in the net out and brought her to a cell in a deep basement and locked her in while she was still unconscious, the cell had a very strong force field enabled, Griffon looked at the girl and said "If you get me the weapon blueprints from the military base, you might actually be good..." he chuckled and got out of the chopper heading to his office. @Daniel reaving

In her cold voice, she responded, "I know I did good. I'm not a child." Her cybernetic eye scanned the man's face. It was the first time she'd been this close to him since her surgery. She could reach out and kill him right now if she wanted, and she suspected that he was testing her response. They did all of this to control her, not to make her a willing partner. There was no way to be certain what they did while she was out, but she knew they could access her mind. She'd held off the pain and sorrow so far, but she was gradually accepting that there was no going back. What they did to her body now made her dependent. A failure in her cybernetic parts could end her life, or worse, take away even more of her humanity.

It was with this in mind that she remained polite to Griffon.

"Give me the details. I'm not going to break into a military base with my pants down. I want building plans and access to their security system. If you want work, you have to equip me to succeed." She said this with a chill. They had equipped her to succeed, but not in a way she intended.

One of the high ranking thugs came up to her and said "Boss told me to give this to ya...also he said he will upgrade you...so go to the doctor, he has a 9mm automatic pistol for you that can be built into your arm. You won't be able to shoot at anyone with a specific implant of course, but no soldiers have it." He then handed her a folder and walked off.

The thought of another "upgrade" sickened her, but she knew well enough to know that she couldn't be expected to handle more dangerous situations with just a blade. So she acquiesced. She walked into the butcher's office, and looked down on him with disgust. He sneered at her, both admiring his handiwork, and her obvious discomfort.

"Oh come on honey, what's one more piece of metal at this point. Now sit, sit." He dug noisily through his tools, and sat her on the table before putting on his greasy, gore-covered goggles.
